Well that is slightly odd sinse I have recieved replies from that address, though I suspect if it was a bug report niels just logged it for future squashing. The duelist issue is indeed a bug and Niels reports itll be fixed in next update. As to combat difficulty, well more balancing is apparently going to happen with some abilities to make them more useful, and also apparently the dart isnt the best of fighter ships to take on larger vessels, particularly because Niels reports that the Jalkath are intended to be slightly tougher than the federation, (Ill have to try a jalkath game and see how things go). So well see how the update goes, I suspect itll prove that in invasion you need to do more in the way of capturing ships of the same class as you but better stats, that though will be also more interesting when more ships get added to the game in the background stories update.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=170808#p170808

Well Ive finally installed the game and am trying it out, however Im slightly irritated with how hard it is to take on a bigger ship class than yours. In s4 this was too easy, but in s5 it was madeharder, however in s5 invasion it seems near impossible. ill be doing fine, using all my evasion abilities then either get hit with an ecm resistant misile, or get hit with a salvo of four shots in a row and have 80 percent of my shields gone in one turn. another issue Im having with invasion is that theres issues when trying to right click skills in the battle manu such as the new ones, as well as clicking on treasures and artifacts. Well the trouble is those ship icons arent specifically labeled, and while Supernova can hit them as part of the column view I dont really use the information or even find it too necessary.Boarding isnt a problem sinse there is no problem boarding and then retreating, and if your boarding a ship of a similar class to you provided your crew has the right composition you should be okay, and there is always the option to retreat.About the only information you really need is what the enemy ships special ability isand you can get that from the manual.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=169836#p169836

Well Ive noticed that issue with the s5 patches too, sinse I personally always install games into my c:\fun program files folder to keep them away from serious programs and so I have a folder to mess about in (again, curse post xp windows for not letting people install things where they want). So I was watching a guys lets play of smugglers earlier, and he was able to view the equipment, crew and the like of enemy ships, which helped him decide whether to engage, board and the like. is there a way to do that with the compatibility mode on? I always skip it too. Well as I said report the bugs to the developer, Im only sorry I cant see more of the game myself. As to Battleships and starbases, well in s5 and s4 the option to atack the starbase should appear in any system under attack, ie, one where you can do combat missions to influence the war. thanks guys! Im slowly progressing, I got to the cruiser class, now using a neptun!I still need to learn the boarding skill to be able to get a battleship. So my only problem now is knowing where each place is located to be able toinfluence the war, for example I know the location of some jump points, but is there a way to know the steps to a specific place from my currentposition? or at least a txt file with the map explaining how to get to a certain place? Hi guys! So yesterday Ive bought all smugglers games, I didnt buy the two dlcs though because Ill wait to see if they will be worth it in terms ofcontent. So Im playing smugglers 5 and got to the rank of lt commander already! Actualy I was so happy that my save file of the demo version workedwhen using the full version. I have some questions though.. First regarding the skills menu, it seems that when Im promoted and have the possibilityof choosing a new skill and I decide to close the window and choose the skill later it seems that I cant do it anymore, at least I cant check howmany skill points I have(when going to the profile menu it always says view personal skills(empty)), so even though Im now lt commanderI have only two or three skills and cant add more, Ive checked the requirements for all the skills. Im a bounty hunter.Then, how do I hire more crew? When visit
 ing a planet I can go to the bar and check up the different kind of members and theyr prices but it seems Icant hire them there. Thanks for the help guys! To hire creww below the names of the crew, I.E.crew officer space marine pirate battle druidthere are plus and minus signs, if you have punctuation turned off theyll read as silence. anyway you just arrow over to the associated plus or minus sign and route your mouse to it and click how ever many times you want to buy them. As far as the skills and what not go you get those only when you gain rank, that is if you start out as a nobody like I did and get to lt commander you should have received the ability to pick out 3 different skillls, I also think you get them when you get a metal. so if you get the silver metal, wwhich is obtained by fighting a larger ship than your own and winning then youll get an extra ability. I think the silver star is the only metal available in this game, maybe more will be added but who knows. To dark, theres actually a ship thats specificly designed I think for boarding ships, its the second destroyer I 
 cant remember what its called, but it comes with a full complament of battle droids lol, I think the price is 400k, but I cant remember. I went with the patton destroyer, way more expensive, but totally worth it. A tip when buying new ships though, youll want to save up more money than the ship cost enough to purchase the upgrades along with the ship that you want. The menue for your crew both in boarding combat and hiering is the same, just remember the order of numbers officers, crew, pirates, mariness, battle droids, and you can see your crewand how many enemy crew officers etc are opposing you towards the bopttom.  about skills Other than needing to hit right click to check skill requirements and in some cases to make sure I knew what skill I was clicking on when he names got a little ropy, I didnt have an issue choosing, but I only got up to second lt, so if something different happens later I dont know. thanks so much for the help @sneak and @dark, the problem with hiring a crew was just the puntuaction, however I can still play it with thepuntuaction set to none, I just have to use the nvda+left/right arrows and it will announce the + and - signs.Im now using a Patton destroyer, guess it will take a while to upgrade to a cruiser which costs 6,000,000..Im curious about one more thing: to attack a starbase Ill need a battleship? Its because I managed to bring up a menu to attack it todayeven with the destroyer, however I dont remember how I did it, it seems I cant do it again. H, well thats one Ive not run into. Then again Ive done something very silly and left my copy of the game on my desktop when Im at my parents with my laptop which isnt good, so unless I can find a way to download another copy of the game Ill likely not tget to play for a couple of weeks which is irritating. its my own fault I shouldve banged the setup files on a memorystick. @Sneak, first might I suggest editing your forum posts rather than adding lots of one sentence posts in a row, this is a forum not a chat system after all and they do rather clutter things up. Regarding scattergun, Ive tried it when i cant get the ecm to work but Ive never actually seen it shoot down any missiles, though i do know the description says it should, maybe increasing the chances on scattergun working would be a way to negate the no ecm ability.If the game is missing a ship jpg I can see why it would crash. I think the scattergun may only work when its one turn away though I could be wrong. Also, I think its an issue with the game not streaming or retrieving the file correctly because when I saved my progress, then got into a fight litterally right after saving the same issue happened again. I closed out of the game, loaded the save progress up then proceeded in the same fight and on with out any issues. It was the same type of ship as well. I know the developer doesnt monitor this thread, so how exactly do I bug these things? Just drop the dev an E-mail, the contact address is in the manual I believe, sinse this is a beta he would likely find bug reports helpful.As to updates, well they work the standard way through patches. Youll get an E-mail telling you the new version is out and can download the patch, once you install that itll dump all the correct files into your smugglers 5 folder, indeed it is not that different from downloading the extra dlc if you bought that. I dont think clipboard would work for smugglers games sinse your talking a full scale interface and need to click on objects. Ive met enough people who got through the game with nvda or window eyes without trouble to make me wonder if the issue is one of knolidge rather than anything else, though i do admit the way the game works so fantastically with supernova is great, though that is primarily because of the columnization in the default map for virtual curser which sn has. I dont know what you mean about combat however, sinse each game has added considderably. Basically in S3 all you could do was fire your guns once, try to maintain your range and fire one missile or torpedo, of which you only had the one and which needed instantly replacing. The major advantage in s3 was that in the addon there were so many different ship types youd occasionally have to change stratogy to accommodate them .In 
 s4 all the launchers came with infinite missiles making them a major part of combat, and you had action points to use as well as skills. The problem was that you pretty much found a formular and stuck to it, and though things like emp was introduced they didnt come up often enough to make a difference, mostly you just found your best combination of skills, missiles etc and plugged away. It also didnt help that S4s skill tree was large and a little confusing.S5 shook things up with the combat events, which occasionally meant you had random consequences to deal with as the game progressed every few fights, and believe me if you found yourself fighting a bigger ship class with a bad event youd be in trouble. S5 also saw the reintroduction of some elements from s3 such as mines (both as a combat event but also as an item you could use to counter enemy tractor beam), and long range. S5 invasion h
 owever is my favourite combat system thus far, because firstly the skills are randomized, meaning that each turn you need to calculate the best use for your action points and that also sometimes you wont necessarily have the best skill at your disposal, so you wont be hitting them with a target lock focus beam each turn.I also believe s5 has reintroduced long range fighting as a major part of the game, but Im not certain as to that yet sinse I still need to experiment more.I have also noticed s5 invasion has introduced npc ship types such as bombers, which is awsome and means your not fighting the same enemies all the time anymore.On access, you can scroll the skill bar up and down with the buttons in s5 invasion, though I never had an issue with this in s4 or s5, though I believe some jaws users did.So, bottom line, combat wise s5 invasion rocks, albeit its a lot harder than s4 which was a

I dont think clipboard would work for smugglers games sinse your talking a full scale interface and need to click on objects, meaning you need some sort of virtual curser rather than instant text speech. Ive met enough people who got through the game with nvda or window eyes without trouble to make me wonder if the issue is one of knolidge rather than anything else, though i do admit the way the game works so fantastically with supernova is great, though that is primarily because of the columnization in the default map for virtual curser which sn has. I dont know what you mean about combat however, sinse each game has added considderably. Basically in S3 all you could do was fire your guns once, try to maintain your range and fire one missile or torpedo, of which you only had the one and which needed instantly replacing. The major advantage in s3 was that in the addon there were so many different ship types you
 9;d occasionally have to change stratogy to accommodate them .In s4 all the launchers came with infinite missiles making them a major part of combat, and you had action points to use as well as skills. The problem was that you pretty much found a formular and stuck to it, and though things like emp was introduced they didnt come up often enough to make a difference, mostly you just found your best combination of skills, missiles etc and plugged away. It also didnt help that S4s skill tree was large and a little confusing.S5 shook things up with the combat events, which occasionally meant you had random consequences to deal with as the game progressed every few fights, and believe me if you found yourself fighting a bigger ship class with a bad event youd be in trouble. S5 also saw the reintroduction of some elements from s3 such as mines (both as a combat event but also as an item you could 
 use to counter enemy tractor beam), and long range. S5 invasion however is my favourite combat system thus far, because firstly the skills are randomized, meaning that each turn you need to calculate the best use for your action points and that also sometimes you wont necessarily have the best skill at your disposal, so you wont be hitting them with a target lock focus beam each turn.I also believe s5 has reintroduced long range fighting as a major part of the game, but Im not certain as to that yet sinse I still need to experiment more.I have also noticed s5 invasion has introduced npc ship types such as bombers, which is awsome and means your not fighting the same enemies all the time anymore.On access, you can scroll the skill bar up and down with the buttons in s5 invasion, though I never had an issue with this in s4 or s5, though I believe some jaws users did.So, bottom line, combat w

as others have said, Ive had no issues with using s5 with NVDA, the text reads very well for the most part, specially now Ive gotten used to clicking up and down on the skill bar to find some of the ones I thought were missingonly issue Im having with invasion are that the desktop shortcut in the installer doesnt seem to actually make one, and certain things like artifacts I cant seem to click on. Yep, I vaguely remember an artifact clicking issue but I cant recall whether it was 5 or one of the versions of 4 it came in. I would recommend trying invasion though sinse its a very different game and different experience from 5, both in combat and in the world it takes place in, heck even the background stories for many planets are new, and the combat is a very different beast. Actually I confess Im getting a little fedup with combat in 5, sinse the special ability that many enemy ships have to make a missile completely imune to eq is way! over powered, and it keeps being used by enemies to spam with missile hits, even when i bought the advanced ecm system that costs 5 ap (which has a far lower success rate than the advertised %80. its down right frustrating to carefully whittle the hp of an enemy ship down, only to have them chuck a missile, activate that annoying ecm i

Well this is proving fun. I especially like the new combat skills system. its now like a ccg, and new skills are drawn from the pack each turn. Also, for people who had shenanigans with the skill bar, the up and down buttons scroll them quite nicely, which is necessary because you now get dealt skills each turn which do different things, and you even get a couple of skills to reshuffle your current hand back into the pack and choose new ones. This makes combat far more adaptive sinse you need to decide what skills to use each time, and indeed combat is a little tougher, a standard enemy fighter managed to blow me up which wasnt fun. The only thing I will say is that its now even more improtant to right click on skill names to check you activate the right thing, but all in all Im liking thus far.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=168731#p16

Well I got a little distracted playing with monsters on my Iphone, however the game looks awsome from what Ive seen. Hi.Well after looking at this it will be something I put in the pipelines for later this year.What interests me is not the pack itself but the 2 packs of dlc that you can also buy, these have extra quests and vehicles, as well as experimental features.the packs cost 5 bucks to 7 bucks but right now you save a couple bucks if you buy the expantion with the extra packs.as always you can buy the previous smuglers 5 main distribution and the 1-4 bundle pack.If you have the packs like I do, I plan to get the expantions later this year maybe christmas including the extra dlc just because I am like that.This is a series to keep on top of if we can.the prices are cheap enough.It has an initial cost of 40-60 bucks when you buy the initial pack and all the extras it entails but once you have stuff and as long as you keep up with it you should be ok.the 1-4 pack with all extras and the v5 game are good now the other stuf
