Re: [Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Clusteredindex on inventsum inventdim
hi There might be some implications of changing the value of primary index (for e.g. caching) You are absolutely right about the cluster index on inventDim, you MAY have performance problems only if you are serial number dimension is active regards harryTVG Tom Vergote [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I'm investigating a performance issue at a customer's site and I've narrowed it down to a single query involving inventsum inventdim. The problem is pretty strange, needing to reindex every now and then. For many reasons it's advised to have a clustered index on every table (would avoid the fragmentation i'm seeing now for example) but inventsum and inventdim have no clustered index, and inventdim hasn't even got a primary key (dimidx is defines as allowduplicates=no) But I'm wary of changing these, because I assume since these are very core tables, navision/ms evaluated the options and picked this design for a reason. Then again I don't see how adding a clustered index on inventdimid (always increasing, never gets changed) could hurt that much Anyone have any insight? Could I create trouble elsewhere if I add those primarykeys and clustered indexes? Are these design decisions maybe taken because oracle needs to be supported?__Do You Yahoo!?Tired of spam? Yahoo! Go to the property page and set the EnumValue property of ASCII to say 100, then set the EnumValue for PDF to 0 (zero) the first in the list. [Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Document Handling - Work Order creation
We want to have the 'document handling' icon highlighted during Work Order creation. We would like to print item and route operation related documents that are stored on the network. We have encountered two problems: 1) If you point to an existing document - Axapta COPIES that document into it's document directory. When changes are made to the original document, they are NOT reflected in Axapta. 2) We have activated document handling tables for InventTable and added ProdTable and Route. ProdTable is only related to a specific work order, so not practical. The other notes don't seem to be available at work order creation time. The employees need to know the documents are present, so they can print them out. How are you solving this? Thank-you, Philip Yahoo! Groups Sponsor ~-- Put more honey in your pocket. Philip, Why not do something like on the CRM Busuness relations screen, such that when a line has attached documents (you can set up whatever type you like) that the icon on the associated line distinguishes the line as having a 'related' documetn.
