Re: [Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Clusteredindex on inventsum inventdim

2005-09-16 Thread Harry \(Harshawardhan Deshpande

hi

There might be some implications of changing the value of primary index (for e.g. caching)

You are absolutely right about the cluster index on inventDim, you MAY have performance problems only if you are serial number dimension is active

I'm investigating a performance issue at a customer's site and I've narrowed it down to a single query involving inventsum inventdim. The problem is pretty strange, needing to reindex every now and then. For many reasons it's advised to have a clustered index on every table (would avoid the fragmentation i'm seeing now for example) but inventsum and inventdim have no clustered index, and inventdim hasn't even got a primary key (dimidx is defines as allowduplicates=no) But I'm wary of changing these, because I assume since these are very core tables, navision/ms evaluated the options and picked this design for a reason. Then again I don't see how adding a clustered index on inventdimid (always increasing, never gets changed) could hurt that much Anyone have any insight? Could I create trouble elsewhere if I add those
primarykeys and clustered indexes? Are these design decisions maybe taken because oracle needs to be supported?__Do You Yahoo!?Tired of spam? Yahoo! Mail has the best spam protection around http://mail.yahoo.com

ASCII of the base

Tried swapping this enumvalue with the element PDF

the default, however it stil produces an ASCII file.

Any help would be much appreciated.
I presume this is a simple change but I am just not

[Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Fixed Assets Query

2005-09-16 Thread Rishivaran
Hi All,

I wanted to dispose a Fixed Asset. In the Journal when I picked up
the Customer account as the Offset, the system generates a Error Msg
as follows:
( This scenario I tried out in the dmo Company)

Summary Account for Customer Account 4000in posting profile
default does not exist.

I checked out the Posting Profile in the AR module, but, summary
account is specified. Then I checked out the Posting Profile in the
General Ledger/Setup/Fixed Assets/Posting Profile, but there is no
provision to select the customer default account.

Can anyone pls help me out. If there is any other workaround to
accomodate the Credit Sales in case of Fixed Assets disposal, kindly
lemme know.

Thanks in Advance

[Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Document Handling - Work Order creation

2005-09-16 Thread Philip R. Freimann
We want to have the 'document handling' icon highlighted during Work
Order creation.

We would like to print item and route operation related documents
that are stored on the network.

We have encountered two problems:
   1) If you point to an existing document - Axapta COPIES that
document into it's document directory. When changes are made to the
original document, they are NOT reflected in Axapta.

   2) We have activated document handling tables for InventTable and
added ProdTable and Route. ProdTable is only related to a specific
work order, so not practical. The other notes don't seem to be
available at work order creation time.

The employees need to know the documents are present, so they can
print them out.

How are you solving this?

Thank-you,
Philip

1) You could try setting File location to Original Location in

2) Documents are always linked to a record (here a ProdTable record). Since
it's not what you want, to what should the document be linked? Are they the
same for all Work Orders?

Why not do something like on the CRM Busuness relations screen, such that when
