PayFlow Pro Timeout
I am trying to test a payflow pro account and the CFX tag times out with a -12 error. Here's the thing, though: it only takes a few seconds for the timeout to occur once the process is launched BUT there is a 45 second timeout in the tag attribute. Does this indicate anything about the timeout and why it is happening? Thanks, Ben .. RE: payflow (link|pro)
We use the PayFlow Pro product. They have a free CFX tag that works great. Originally, we had an existing site that was based on ASP and a COM object, therefore, we already had an account. I chose to create a new online payment page with CF and the CFX tag. I was able to get a working example in just a few minutes after downloading the tag. Anyone have any success with getting Verisign's PayflowLINK (not Pro) working using CFHTTP to pass and return parameters? For me it just times out. Verisign's Payflow Recurring billing
Has anyone implemented Payflow Recurring Billing (http://www.verisign.com/support/payflow/manager/selfHelp/recurringBilling.html) on a CF site? Working PayFlow Pro Files?
Does anybody know (or can send me off-list) where I can find the latest PayFlow Pro files that actually work? I've been going back and forth with the VeriSign support people for literally about 2 months and they swear that the version on their site is the latest, even though I know from blog-hunting and cf-talk archive-hunting that it's not. On top of all that, I can't get it working for the life of me (and yes, I'm specifying all params, even if they're not used). I found Sim's blog where he noted they sent him files that actually work and Ray Camden noted in the comments that he built a CFC wrapper around the Java classes as an alternative. If anybody can send me a set of files they *know* work (MX 6.1 and 7.0.1), I'd be eternally grateful, as dealing with VeriSign's support staff is just a brick wall. I only used the COM object for some of my testing. I didn't use their custom tag. I was able to get my testing to work correctly just by using the COM object. I'm sure, however, that I would have to do a bit more work in parsing the information myself rather than a custom tag, but I would feel better about it that way. Re: payflow pro and CF7 multi-instance
The Verisign.jar file goes in any one of the lib dirs. It can go in the JRun lib directory or the lib directory of the cfusion instance you are running. The CFXPayFlowPro.class file goes in the classes directory for your cfusion instance. With that done I have not had to modify classpaths or anything else. RE: PayFlow Pro on cfmx7
I didn't see when this thread came in, but I'm using it on CFMX 7 without troubles. I did have to make some changes in the setup though. The jvm setting is different. You only map to the directory containing the jar instead of to the jar file itself, as you did in MX. It's working fine though. --Ferg -Original Message- From: Jann E. Re: Verisign Payflow Pro
No, the CFX tag will not know what to do with it. Your best bet is to just keep the password from being immediately visible in the code if you can help it. Any way you look at it, it will be decrypted before it is sent over to verisign (though it is sent via SSL). I'm sure you can get creative with encryption so that you decrypt it as you pass it to the tag.. I have a CFC version of the PFPro tag that might give you a bit more flexibility in this area, though I personally wouldn't trust a stranger's CC gateway code :) I'd be more than happy to post it if anyone is interested though. Nah, it's really rather easy, just follow the install instructions. Just make sure that you provide all of the default information such as hostname, port, proxy_username, proxy_password, etc. It's weird, but the proxy information needs to be specified whether you are using it or not. We wrote a custom tag for CDG Commerce (http://www.quilldesign.com/cdg/index.cfm) It is a simple custom tag to install. The custom tag is free as well as the payment gateway setup is free. Is LinkPoint by Card Service International? I see their little logo on the page when I found linkPoint If so - don't let their promise of service and talk of them being one of the largest sway you. I have a list of clients that are incredibly unhappy. Although fairly simple- roadblocks left and right. Customer Service departments are horrendous. And to top it off - being a business man - reseller fees happen to be a plus - Well they managed to scam me out of about $1800 in client referrals. So - horrible service, what I think as a non impressive product. beware. Also - I had my own companies card processing go through them. Thanks for the info Jason. I've looked at Authorize.Net again. Have had it integrated as part of our storefront software for some time. However, I've not dealt with them directly. I've been using Cybercash WebAuthorize for a few years now and it's pretty nice. Easy to get running with CF plus there are ActiveX, C and Java APIs. I use the ActiveX version with a tag from the DevEx. It's fairly pricey though, I think it was $5k for the software. Re: Payment Gateways? (Was: OPINIONS: PayFlow Pro and CF Integration?)
Honestly - in all instances of any installements of authorize.net - My clients signed up for the account. And their FAQ's page had everything I needed once my client gave me certain login information. It was my first year developing in CF and my first commerce integration and it only took me 6 hours to figure it all out. I Never had to contact them so I really can't rate them. The authorization process was simple - You send a few key variables through a URL string through a special secure link - and they send a string back - 1,2,3 etc - and you set up an if condition to meet each string. The documentation on all the error codes was quite easy. I also remember during testing I did live testing wtih a personal card ( even though they had special test card numbers) And you go into user secure area - approve charges you are going to fulfill - select others and hit void. All in all it seemed pretty easy. jay Lee Fuller wrote: Thanks for the info Jason. I've looked at Authorize.Net again. Have had it integrated as part of our storefront software for some time. Oh and a flash guy I have outsourced some work to - really good guy - only worked with him a few times - had programmed and offers a payflow CF tag http://www.optimal-media.com I believe - slightly discouraging becuase his site is throwing a cf error - but I know he is actively alwasy working on his site. may be worth a quick look. jay miller Chris Alvarado wrote: H here is a post I took from the bugtraq group on Google about Linkpoint. NOTE: I AM NOT THE ONE THAT DID THIS INVESTIGATION. I just find it interesting. == Some Background == LinkPoint is the name of the API that Card Service International (one of the biggest online merchant account providers) uses for communication between a merchant's servers and their credit-card gateway. The LinkPoint client API communicates with the credit-card gateway using an SSL-based protocol. Authentication and encryption is facilitated with x509 digital certificates (the same ones that https uses). You must provide the client with two pieces of information for it to authenticate to the gateway server. The first is what CSI calls Store Name -- it's actually a six digit number. The second is the path to the certificate file they send you. == The Problem == Although I have not discovered a technical (code) security problem, I believe there is a serious procedural security problem in they way CSI initially sets up accounts. When you are approved for a CSI merchant account (or even when you are approved for a test account), CSI sends you two emails. One of the emails has the subject Welcome to LinkPoint API (the other is unimportant). This email contains two pieces of information: The gateway server's hostname Your Store Name (the six digit number) Plus, they attach your certificate AND _private key_ to the bottom of the message. The idea is that you copy and paste the cert + private key into a file for the client API to use when it connects. I don't think I need to spell out the problem any further for everyone on this list. Basically, they are sending all of the information you need authenticate as a merchant through plain, unencrypted, email. You would need a few more things to exploit this potential security hole. Namely, you would need the CSI API and some knowledge of how to use it. This appears to be an attempt at security through obscurity. Also, you would obviously need a way to get the plain email (sniffing, etc) Notes: * The digital certificates do not have a passphrase. * The LinkPoint API documentation is publicly available at: http://www.cardservice.com/inetserv/lpapi.pdf == Card Service's Response == My attempt to contact CSI lead to a phone call from the Lead Senior Tech in the API Support department of CSI. Since I did not type this email while I was on the phone, all of the quoted comments bellow are from memory and probably aren't exact. They are, however, pretty close to what was said. I spoke with this person for about ten minutes and was not satisfied with his response. This person's basic theme was It's never happened before and there are security precautions on the back-end. I explained to him that using the information in their email, I could pose as the merchant -- and after a while, he reluctantly agreed. I then asked him to clarify how that isn't a serious security problem, and he quickly responded with something along the lines of lets say you can pose as the merchant, what are you going to do?. I responded by saying I'd start posting refunds to my card and he said the refund option has to be enabled per merchant. Next, I told him I could charge cards. His response to this was that well, then you would be giving money to the merchant. I suggested to him that if I was a malicious user, I could charge random cards with random amounts to the merchant's account. His response: our backend would detect that. I asked for clarification and realized that the security he is talking about is their Fraud Protection system. From my knowledge (and I've used the CSI API in several projects) and according the the API documentation available online, this system just blocks an end-user from attempting to charge credit cards if they've had repeated failures. The key here is that it uses the _end user's_ (the person submitting a credit card to the merchants site -- the web browser) IP. This IP is sent to the gateway server from the client API. It's very simple to write a program which charges a whole bunch of cards and makes the API think each one came from a different IP (especially since the IP is just one of the items in the struct you pass to the client API). Obviously, the Fraud Protection provided

RE: Payment Gateways? (Was: OPINIONS: PayFlow Pro and CF Integration?)
The only problem I have with that is the price for PayFlow. It's a bit pricey for the average little guy. By the time they get done paying for their merchant account, and then PayFlow, they're at nearly $100 per month. The | second is the | path to the certificate file they send you. | | | | == The Problem == | Although I have not discovered a technical (code) | security problem, | I | believe there is a serious procedural security problem | in they way | CSI initially sets up accounts. | | When you are approved for a CSI merchant account (or | even when you | are approved for a test account), CSI sends you two | emails. Basically, they are sending all of the | information | you | need authenticate as a merchant through plain, | unencrypted, email. | | You would need a few more things to exploit this | potential security | hole. Payflow in MX?
Since our upgrade to MX, the CFX_Cybercash tag has been flaky at best so we're making the move away from Cybercash to Payflow. Can anyone out there confirm for me that the CFX_PaymentNet tag functions correctly in MX? RE: Payflow in MX?
Yes, I have tested CFX_PaymentNet with MX and have had no problems, the only thing you will have a problem with, at least I ran into this, if you use the installer it will tell you it can't detect Coldfusion on the system, just copy the dll file to your winnt\system32(if you're using windows) and register the tag yourself, other than that, it works fine. Payflow Pro Tag for MX on Linux
I'm currently doing some testing running CFMX on Linux and trying to move one of our apps over to that machine to see how it works versus a windows machine. We currently use the CFX_PaymentNet tag as the processor for Verisigns Payflow Pro. I found that Verisign offers CFX_Payflowpro which is a java custom tag but only works in 4.0/5.0. I decided to try it and it doesn't seem to work. Does anyone know if there is a tag similar that works with CFMX and Linux? RE: VeriSign PayFlow Configuration/Sample Code
There are two releases of the Verisign CFX implementation: Version 2.31 (which is the C++ version), and Version 3.0.* (which is a Java-based CFX tag. A client of mine was forced to upgrade to the Java version because of issues with the FraudScreen service. If you need code for the Java version, let me know and I will post it. -- SCOTT VAN VLIET SENIOR ANALYST SBC SERVICES, INC Tel: 858.886.3878 Fax: 858.653.6763 Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday, March 28, 2002 12:55 PM To: CF-Talk Subject: VeriSign PayFlow Configuration/Sample Code Can anybody point me at some ColdFusion-specific documentation and sample code on setting up and using VeriSign's PayFlow credit card payment system? Quick PayFlow Pro / Cybercash Question
I haven't had a chance to look at the documentation yet, but when using PayFlow Pro are you actually using a Cybercash integration? What's the best tag currently available for this gateway? Re: Quick PayFlow Pro / Cybercash Question
No, it has nothing to do with Cybercrash, and actually pre-dates Verisign's acquisition of them. Based on my older docs, it actually originated back when the service was Signio, before Verisign bought *them*. You're going to use a CFX that you get from Verisign once you either a) sign up for a trial acct or b) sign up for a real one. Its the only way to connect to the Pro system, so if you look around in the Dev Exchg and see nothing thats why. I wrote something to interface with the CFX and loop around and handle most of their response error/success messages. I'd put it into the Exchange, but we're only talking about 10 or 20 lines of code. Its really very easy to implement. Let me know offline if you want the code and I'll email it over. --- Matt Robertson[EMAIL PROTECTED] MSB Designs, Inc., www.mysecretbase.com --- -- Original Message -- from: Tony Schreiber [EMAIL PROTECTED] Reply-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] date: Mon, 12 Nov 2001 18:15:07 -0500 (EST) I haven't had a chance to look at the documentation yet, but when using PayFlow Pro are you actually using a Cybercash integration? Tony, I believe the tag is called CFX_PAYMENTNET. It's available in the manager's area of your PFP account site. RE: Quick PayFlow Pro / Cybercash Question
No, we're talking about a bit of CF code to hook into the CFX; processing the responses and errmsgs. Not CFX_PaymentNet itself. The CF snippet is available at http://foohbar.org/verisign.txt It still works, but for an installation a little over a year old. CFX_PaymentNet may have been updated since then, particularly with regard to using signio.com servers. Be sure to read up on your *current* documentation. In the code, the transaction is successful unless a response code of 0 or 13 is returned, at which point error information is dumped out on the screen. For the site this code comes from, an AVS failure -- either to connect for the AVS portion of the transaction or an outright mismatch -- was logged for magagerial review, but this did NOT abort the transaction. Check your docs for what the AVS failure codes are and add them to the last CFIF if you want to fail the buy upon AVS failure. --- Matt Robertson[EMAIL PROTECTED] MSB Designs, Inc., www.mysecretbase.com --- -- Original Message -- from: Michael Wilson [EMAIL PROTECTED] Reply-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] date: Mon, 12 Nov 2001 20:44:51 -0500 Tony, I believe the tag is called CFX_PAYMENTNET. RE: Quick PayFlow Pro / Cybercash Question
I checked and yes, the dll that I got over a year ago is named PFProCF.dll, but is called as CFX_PaymentNet, although maybe you can label it as whatever you want. I'm curious to know if they've updated the tag in the last 18 months. Does that code fit into what your docs tell you? --- Matt Robertson[EMAIL PROTECTED] MSB Designs, Inc., www.mysecretbase.com --- -- Original Message -- from: Tony Schreiber [EMAIL PROTECTED] Reply-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] date: Mon, 12 Nov 2001 20:59:02 -0500 (EST) Yes. RE: verisign payflow link?
Has anyone called a Win .EXE file from a html page? On our intranet, we want to recreate a VB navigational menu system that calls other VB applications (the VB applications reside on a drive that has been mapped on our end users computers). How can I do this?
