Bill; I would be interested in those items. Give me an address to mail the money, or do you take paypal? Contact me at [EMAIL PROTECTED] as this is Diane's mailbox. Len Snow P.S. Check your shifter seal. Mine "sweats" ever so slightly and it runs down to the lip of the pan. A couple days after I clean everything it looks like the pan gasket is leaking again. Thanks Bill. Dye-checking is a good way to go. I'll look into that. I got the transmission from a running 1970 Chevelle that a friend made an SS clone from, and wanted a TH400 in place of the TH350 that I now have. It is quite possible that it needs some re-sealing. RE: [Chevelle-list] WOO HOO!!!!
Thanks Tom, I have a new neutral safety switch on order, so I'll look for those tables when I replace it. Right now I have no speedo cable hooked up. The drip appears to be coming from the RF corner of the (stock) pan, but that could just be where gravity is leading it to before it finally drops. It is a very slow leak. Probably an ounce or two per week when sitting, but it seemed to get worse after I ran it for a while and then drove it, then put it back in the garage. I'll definitely check into those O-rings. BTW, I looked at the photo you sent and I still didn’t figure out how to attach the rear license plate lamp. I'll bring the picture with me next week, but I'm getting the feeling that the holes are not pre-drilled on the reproduction bumper. There is just nothing there to attach the lamp to. I sure wish Ron had returned my original bumper so that I could see what's going on. John Nasta -Original Message- Congrats John. There is still enough time to get it ready for the MCC show in June :-). About the reverse lights. If the car is column shift, the neutral safety switch and the revers light switch are one in the same. It is located on the bottom of the column. There is a tab that sits on another tab in the steering column. That is adjustable left to right. I just had to adjust one on a 66 I am working on. As for the tranny, if you have a chrome pan on it, ditch it and put a stock aluminum one in it with a fel pro gasket. Second on that, have you checked all the O-ring seals on the outside of the tranny? The speedo cable gear, vacuum module, and the driveshaft seal. Other things that can leak on it are the tailshaft seal and front pump seal. Good luck! Tom
Re: [Chevelle-list] spray gun & mask
I'll probably catch some flack from the pros out there, with $400.00 guns, about the gun purchase but I just purchased a Sharpe Cobalt gravity feed HVLP and I really like it. I have painted my firewall and inner fenders with it and they turned out great. Even got a compliment from my paint guy. I also just purchased a new respirator. It is a 3M model 6800 full face respirator. I'm using a 6001 organic vapor cartridge with a pre filter. It is what was advise by the 3M rep. I went with the full face for eye protection and a second seal. The full face seals around the nose and mouth and also around the face. Cobalt gun cost $116.00 at Tool Paradise.com. Respirator $89.00 w/ a 6006 filter at probuy.com. Lens covers, 25 for $19.95 also probuy.com. Cartridges $10.95 for a pair of organic vapor (R6001) and $9.95 for 6 pack of pre-filters (5P71-6) at unclejoes.com. Not only will it self-reproduce, it will seek out even the tiniest of cracks to seep thru for eternity. The only solution is to switch to a manual. ;- Congrats on the drive! However, a few years back I had a '72 Corvette with a stock 350. I added cheap Blackjack headers and had a complete 3" exhaust built that used a Dr. Gas X pipe and a pair of 3 chamber Flowmasters. It sounded extremely different from any Flowmaster equipped car I ever heard. It had the typical Flowmaster sound at idle, but once the rpm went up the pitch changed and the trademark Flowmaster sound dissappeared. I thought it sounded so cool that I'd take out the back window whenever the weather was good so I could hear it better while driving.
