They should compliment work experiece, not replace it. I have bought the IPexpert workbook (V 2.0) and I am very much looking forward to making use of all the exercises within it. I have also booked some online time to use their lab as it has more equipment within it than I have at home or at work. Reading through all the exercises it does seem very comprehensive and I would imagine that if you can configure all the labs within the suggested times in the book without recourse to the CD then you are definitely ready to take the lab with a realistic amount of confidence. My second lab attempt is on Feb 18, and some time after that (pass or fail) I will write a review of the workbook and post it on my web site - www.bensbookmarks.com. Also, you can look on ebay. CCBootcamp is normally selling the labs for $50 to $75 off the website price. All, Currently I am using the IPexpert.net lab as part of my preperation. I am also getting ready for my second attempt at the one day lab. Having been through the new format, I am very comfortable that the IPexpert.net materials cover a VERY LARGE portion of the material you will need to know for the lab. That being said I don't think any one lab manual will catch all the unusual stuff you could be presented with on the actual test, but you will have a solid chance. The book is decieving small in size. It takes FOREVER to actually go through it.Worth every penny. I wasn't trying to be mean at all. I'm sure they have a decent product. But my thought process is that ccbootcamp has a proven success record with teaching CCIE level material and I would prefer to stick with that type of history. In all fairness, there are far more of us who have failed the Lab than passed, no matter what or whose study materials we've used. And there are plenty of CCIE's who earned theirs before any of these training aids were available. Bootcamp materials are an excellent source of ideas and inspiration. They are by no means the only source. A former boss of mine, a CCIE herself, told me several times that everything she needed to pass is available for free on CCO. Chuck, As I stated in my previous post, "We are in the process of going through ALL of the labs, removing the errors, removing the old technologies, making the configs standardized for our racks (frame-relay interfaces, router #s, etc), and including pre-config files (for IP addresses, etc, like the new 1-day lab)." Part of the planned changes for the revised labs will reflect the actual interfaces for the routers in our remote racks. (The interfaces in the diagrams will match up with our remote racks). We should have the revised versions released within the next few months. I do have a revised 1-day beta version of Lab19 if you are interested in giving that a run. this is a bit nit-picky, but it is irritating to rent bootcamp rack time, and spend a significant amount of it hassling with the cabling that does not match the lab diagrams. which end is DCE, which end is DTE, and finding you have to cross reference with the updated web pages for the new rack equipment. BTW, none of the rack rental places make me happy. start times are east coast, and I live on the west coast. I am completely biased (since I am one of the owner's of NLI), but I do know of over 150 CCIE's that have used the ccbootcamp labs to get their CCIE...I havent heard of one CCIE yet that has used the other labs to get their #. :) Also, the bootcamp labs are constantly being updated and added on to. Hey Pieter, You have the same certs as I do. Where do you live? and how many years of experience do you have? I'm curious 'cause I'm having a hard time landing a decent job and need some comparison. I'm working on my CCIE as well. As for the question you posted I did the same posting and didn't get any opinions on the IPexpert Lab from Certificationzone. On CCIE I know said it was a good book but I still don't know if it's worth the $400 price tag.
