Re: [CnD] Thanks for recipe and information about trecipe Spicy Thai Chicken-Diabetic

2020-08-22 Thread Carol Ashland via Cookinginthedark
I broil quite often. Be sure to have, and use, really good oven mitts, such as
those sold by Blind Mice Megamall. Turn your stove fan on high. Be sure you
know how to turn your smoke alarms off. It doesn't mean the house is burning
down. For me, I just have to grab the garage door and wave it back and forth
to get the smoke away from the smoke alarm. Don't broil thin things, only thick
cuts of meat, like a rib-i steak.

Have you tried munk fruit?
It's the same packaging and made of the munk fruit.
It's good.
Monk Fruit Sweetener: Good or Bad? -
Healthlinewww.healthline.com › nutrition › monk-fruit-sweetener

Monk fruit sweetener is made from extract derived from dried fruit. The extract
is 150-250 times sweeter than table sugar, has zero calories and carbs, and
does not raise blood glucose levels. Most nonnutritive sweeteners can cause
side effects like gas, bloating, or allergic reactions.Feb 3, 2017

In my case, it's a matter of preference. I like to use the veggies from inside
my turkey and do my dressing separately. I know a lot of people love to stuff
the turkey. Often there is no right or wrong way. Temperature is the key. Cook
to 180 fahrenheit and keep warm till serving. If storing, store below 40
degrees fahrenheit.

I have always put my bread/vegetable/egg stuffing in the turkey when
roasting the turkey.

I have never had a problem with getting sick.

It is important to get the turkey to around 180 degrees, if you do it
should be ok.

I will probably get a few nasty emails now because of this comment.

The stuffing tastes too good cooked in the turkey.

The extra stuffing can be cooked in a casserole along with the turkey or
after the turkey is done.

Yes, technically, stuffing goes into the turkey. That is why I said I like to
cook a separate pan of "dressing." Dressing gets cooked separately.

I always thought that was the reason it is called "stuffing"; it gets
stuffed into the bird, then cooked.

I like to do my stuffing in the turkey as well. I find it turns out better that

I have always put my bread/vegetable/egg stuffing in the turkey when roasting
the turkey.

I have never had a problem with getting sick.

It is important to get the turkey to around 180 degrees, if you do it should
be ok.

I will probably get a few nasty emails now because of this comment.

The stuffing tastes too good cooked in the turkey.

The extra stuffing can be cooked in a casserole along with the turkey or after
the turkey is done.

[CnD] Thanks for the Recipes

2012-11-21 Thread Jeri Milton
Hi. I just wanted to say Happy Thanksgiving to our friends in the U.S. I'm
so glad that I signed back up for this list. Thanks to the list, we're
bringing two new casseroles to tomorrows Thanksgiving meal. We quadrupled a
Broccoli Rice and Cheese recipe and also a Corn Casserole. The corn
casserole due to its density from quadrupling it, has been In the oven going
on three hours and is still raw in the middle. We cranked the heat up on it,
so I hope it doesn't take much longer. We're usually in a nice deep sleep by
now. *smile* It sure does smell great in here though. Plus I tried a No Bake
Cheese Cake recipe as well. I wanted to make a New York Style cheese cake,
but I waited until too late in the day to try it. I didn't realize that
after you've baked it and turned the oven off, you leave it in the oven for
about four hours. Well, that just wasn't going to happen with all of the
baking we had to do. I'll try it for Christmas. Or, hmm, maybe I'll try it
this week end! We topped the no bake one with cherry pie filling, and it is
calling my name! Anyway, thanks for the yummy recipes and the new edition to
the Smith family Thanksgiving feast. Happy Eating!

Re: [CnD] thanks to Laura

2012-08-16 Thread Lora Leggett
Oh, I may just provide some feedback. I suppose Cheryl told Kevin that
there are a lot of people from other places who really enjoy the service.
They also have articles on pets that they have continued. I think if he
knows that people enjoy all the work that Cheryl put in for 20 years he will
continue. Most of the Have You Seen This articles dealt with food products.
They still have a lot of grocery ads and since many of them are for national
chains like Wal-Mart they can help us too because they mention brands and
things that just may be around my stores in Michigan.
I think I will stop talking about that subject in here but I should take
more time and explore a lot of things besides the recipe of the week. I
used to use their TV listings when they used to have it and the sports
section when this one nice gentleman used to do the college bowl schedules
and the NCAA basketball brackets and times and stuff. They always took that
little extra time with some things you could not even do on Newsline.

Subject: [CnD] Thanks for the Prayers

Hello All,

Thank you to all who prayed that I would get the job I interviewed for,
on January 10th!
I just found out today that I was chosen for the job, so I will be a
Vocational Rehabilitation counselor, beginning March 5.

Thank you all for the prayers and good wishes.
I have so much to do before then.
My last day of work, at the current job, will be on February 22nd. I'm
very excited!

Re: [CnD] thanks everyone and another request please

2011-07-31 Thread Nicole Massey
I do this one fairly often.

3 or 4 IQF chicken breasts, thawed and marinated in a vinaigrette salad
dressing
3 or four tablespoons of garlic, crushed
8 small or 5 large redskin potatoes
1.5 cups of baby carrots
.5 lb of sliced mushrooms (I get whole ones and slice them in an egg slicer)
1 envelope of onion soup mix
Season salt to taste

Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of the crock pot and put a
tablespoon each of garlic on each one. Pour the mushrooms over the chicken
breasts. Cut the potatoes into bite sized chunks and wash thoroughly, then
put in the carrots and the soup mix and stir around until the soup mix is on
the vegetables. Pour over the mushrooms, shake a moderate amount of season
salt over everything and then cook on high for about 5 hours and then on low
for two. Best served with homemade wheat or Italian white bread from the
bread machine.
