Re: [CTRL] fw: Net Cleanup

1999-02-12 Thread Brown, Jeremy

 -Caveat Lector-

In addition, you must be wary of any viruses that result in the following

1) Turning your screen saver into screen captures from "Dream a Little
Dream"

2) Every time you sign off, your computer says "Dave...what are you
doing?my mind is goingI can feel itI can feel it"

3) Having your computer start running on "Windows 1895" where the monitor
must be lit with a kerosene lamp and all e-mail is conducted via the pony
express.

4) Your password is now "Joshua" and your computer continually asks "How
about a nice game of chess?"

5) Every time you try to play another round of "Doom", you can only play
"Pong"

6) Your desktop theme is now the coveted "Menudo" theme.

Be on the lookout.

Re: [CTRL] FW: A Man and His Frog

1999-02-11 Thread Brown, Jeremy

 -Caveat Lector-

SnoOwl, since you were the one person brave enough to respond, I'd
like to address each point you raised, openly and with no hostility.

Sno -
No sex--it gives you AIDS and it's immoral.

Me - I never said that. On the contrary, in a previous post, I condoned
sexual activity. It's known to be a great cardiovascular workout. I
recommend it to heart attack survivors quite often!

  Sno-
No cigarettes--take Prozac--or heroin--or crack cocaine if your
nerves aren't mellow.

Me - I think if your nerves aren't mellow, there are far better ways to
control that than with chemicals of any kind.

Sno-
No food--at least no goodies, it too will kill you, or if you live,
make folks laugh at you.

Me - I'm not saying that you can't enjoy a little junk food here and there,
or even a little more. The key is moderation. Something our President does
not practice.

  Sno-
But beer and wine--they get labels telling you the stuff is GOOD for
you!!

Me - A moderate amount of alcohol, perhaps one beer or one glass of wine a
day, can be good for you. It soothes the nerves and relaxes the arteries,
making the flowing of blood easier. Again, it's all about moderation.

  Sno-
And Canola Oil--which isn't fit for human consumption--but Gore
lobbies for it.
And Aspartame--to keep your waist in line with neurotoxins..
And all that Monsanto soy bean stuff...which is controversial, too.

Me - I totally agree with you here. All that stuff is crap and does way more
harm than good. I don't buy into any of that nonsense. I know that one can
live a 100% healthy existence without ever touching any of the above
products.

 Sno-
Oh, boy.Now we gotta get rid of the President because some
folks think the guy is
too fat?? The world has truly gone mad.

Me - No no no, SnoOwl. That isn't what I meant at all. I don't think we
need to get rid of Clinton for being fat! I just think that it might be in
his best interests if he took a few less trips to the cookie jar. Physical
health is, to me, a very important thing. And he really takes TERRIBLE care
of himself. A fact that I think was quite evident during his State of the
Union address. He looked terribly flushed and winded. I know the guy has a
lot on his mind, but I think that if he set a better example, we could begin
to set a greater standard of physical fitness in this country.

Thank for your reply. I mean that sincerely as it's very frustrating to post
and be ignored.

JB

Re: [CTRL] CTRL Conspiracy

1999-02-10 Thread Brown, Jeremy

 -Caveat Lector-

You know, you're right! Everybody on this list is blind to the truth! They
have to all wake up and smell what they are shoveling! Let's start a new
exchange of information. Right here, right now! I propose the following
changes to the list:

1) Instead of "Caveat Lector", the list's new motto will be "Oompa Loompa
Loompidy Dee"
2) Anyone who contributes to the more than 10 times a month, now receives
the honorary title of "Cap'n"
3) All references to belly-button lint be encrypted.
4) Any conspiracies involving former tennis star Billie Jean King should be
immediately discounted
5) Discussions of the career of Leif Garret must be kept to a minimum
6) E-mails can not be sent unless the sender is dressed as a chicken
7) References to airsick donkeys must be treated reverentially
8) If you have beaten an Avon lady to death with her own makeup kit...we
want you!!!
9) If you have had phone sex with you loved one, only to find out that the
person on the other end was former jazz great Azar Lawrence, don't come
crying to us!
10) Projectile vomiting onto girl scouts is grounds for immediate dismissal
from the list. Punishment will be no less severe even if you only vomit into
their cookies.

Thank you

Re: [CTRL] FW: A Man and His Frog

1999-02-10 Thread Brown, Jeremy

 -Caveat Lector-

You know, I posted this before, and everyone was too high and mighty to
respond, so I'll have another go. We need to focus on this man's health for
Christ's sake! He is so overweight for a man his age and height that it's
frightening to watch! He's the reason that so many people in this country
are fat pigs! They see this chipwich munching rube microwaving another
tortilla with cheese or frying up a second helping of onion rings and they
say "Hey, if it's good enough for the Chief, why can't I do it?" I'm serious
here. This man has got to lose weight and get in shape. He is so doughy and
flabby that I bet if you poked his belly he'd giggle! Let's get him on the
Stairmaster, then some cardio, maybe some crunches for the abs, pushups to
flatten out those monstrous man-breasts, no more jogging five feet for the
press and then ducking into Arby's for a rib platter. Cut out the snacks,
the chocolates, the beer. Get healthy! I know you think I'm just goofing on
the guy, but I'm serious. The country's physical condition is as vital an
issue as anything else! I mean, we laud this guy as a great leader, but if
he can't even control his own eating habits, what good is he?

Re: [CTRL] FW: APE: Republicans let Clinton off the hook

 -Caveat Lector-

Who cares about his politics? Let's take a look at the man's health for a
moment! He's lugging around that massive paunch, and his suits look like
they're about a size too tight. Did you see him at the State of the Union
address? He is so pasty and bloated I thought he was going to collapse right
there! His face was all flushed and blotchy, his skin tone is pure gray and
his hair was pasted to his head in sweaty clumps. I could hear the blood
straining through the clogged arteries. We are looking at a prime candidate
for angioplasty. He's got to lay off the McDonald's breakfast burritos and
French fries, lock up the Fritos, ixnay on the Pepsi Big Slams, no more Ring
Dings and Ho Hos, hold the fried okra, cancel the cheeseburger deluxes, and,
for God's sake STOP SCARFING THE DAMN PORK RINDS!!! Otherwise the GOP won't
have to vote him out, his viscous fat will just seal off his heart like
cement. Maybe he should keep banging interns. At least he'll get some cardio
into his day.

1999-02-09 Thread Brown, Jeremy

 -Caveat Lector-

I think that if someone goes out and puts a needle on a seat or anything
similar, they already had the inclination to do so. Movies, e-mails, TV,
what have you are not responsible for the actions of crazy people. Perhaps
they sometimes play a role in their behavior, like John Hinckley and his
"Taxi Driver" thing, but I think that the idea that a normally sane person
could be driven to insanity by entertainment a pretty far stretch.

 -Caveat Lector-

After reading your post, I am now thoroughly convinced that you are a bona
fide mentalcase. You mention that I failed to properly word what I wrote.
Perhaps it is you who should admit that you failed to understand what I
wrote! The debate was about the president's infidelity, and the first thing
you jump on is what? The actions in question and how they relate to my sex
life! What's the deal with that? It's not my fault if you are unable to
infer what I meant. I notice no one else had that problem. Only you. So
don't try to play it off now that I'm the one at fault here. You tried to
have a cheap laugh at my expense and it backfired. Admit it and let's be
done with it.

P.S. Touché on the naivete thing. Although I don't think I embarrassed
myself at all, I'll be sure to check and re-check next time I fire a

So what, Mr.Brown, is the above statement meant to mean. My so

at your naivety and obvious lack of experience in life if you
believe
that the things you listed are abnormal!!

Oh my GOD! Tell me you aren't really this dense! How many times do I have to
explain this? OK, let's do this piece by piece. First up, I assume you are
asking a question with that first sentence. However, since you don't seem to
know how to use a question mark, it must remain an assumption. I will
respond in kind, nonetheless. The above statement was meant to address the
fact that our president engaged in various and sundry sexual acts with
someone who is NOT HIS WIFE!!! Again, I'll say it...WHAT HE DID IS
IRRELEVANT! I don't think anything that he did is abnormal! Just the fact
that the other participant wasn't his wife. For you to turn it around into
some sort of pre-pubescent gigglefest about my sex life just shows me how
truly boneheaded you really are.

You see, it's this type of slow-wittedness that keeps this
discussion from reaching a logical end. The fact that you cannot grasp the
point I was trying to make is painfully evident in your cheap shot at me.
Let me try to explain this to you. WHAT the president did is neither here
nor there. WHO he did it with is the issue. Did that totally go over your
head? Hey, I wouldn't even care if he got into bestiality, as you so wittily
stated. That's his own business. The fact that he got involved with an
EMPLOYEE of his who is HALF HIS AGE is disturbing. Please, let's keep this
discussion on the right track.

Prudence,

Since you responded to this message a total of three separate times, I
assume you must really want to jump on the bandwagon! In that case, I pose
to you the same question I posed to Samantha. How is bashing Reagan in
defense of Clinton turnabout Reagan has nothing to do with it! To
correctly apply the term "turnabout is fair play" in this case, you would
have to start in on Ken Starr. Check your facts, people!

 -Caveat Lector-

Prudence,

How you construed "sex crazed" to infer that Clinton has sex often is
somewhat baffling. Allow me to explain. Clinton has engaged in oral sex,
mutual masturbation, phone sex, proposed sodomy and used a cigar as a dildo.
All with a woman half his age and not his wife. I think this qualifies as a
case of thinking a bit too much with the old mushroom pole, if you catch my
meaning. It has nothing to do with how much sex he is having. As far as my
definition of normal, I can safely say one thing: None of the above
qualifies.

Samantha,

You asked if I am concerned with the sexual dalliances of Gingrich and
all those other windbags. My answer is no. I couldn't care one bit about the
sexual affairs of anyone, much less any of those capitol hill fatcats. I
don't care that much for Clinton in general. I'm not a particularly
political person. If any of them want to bone their secretaries, their
mothers or their dogs, more power to them. As long as the country keeps
chugging along, who gives a damn what they do? You say that turnabout is
fair play, but how is bashing a sick old man who has nothing to do with
Clinton fair play? I would say that in this instance a proper case of
turnabout would be in the form of attacks on Ken Starr.

Samantha,

Actually, I couldn't care less about the joke in question. No offense to
the sender, but it was kind of lame! I also couldn't care less about the
Clinton situation or any related jokes. In addition, I don't care about
Reagan that much. I just think that Alzheimer's is a terrible illness that
robs a family of a loved one and robs that person of their dignity and
cracking jokes about it is in poor taste. Your argument about the mental
capacity of the leader of the free world holds no weight whatsoever as
Reagan became ill more than a half-decade after leaving office. Plus, if you
are so concerned about the mental health of your president, shouldn't you
examine the fact that Clinton can't keep his pants on for more than 2
minutes at a stretch? And if we're going to use big words, dear, consensual

That's pretty funny to goof on people with Alzheimer's. You're really a
witty person, Samantha. Only an idiot like you would think that Clinton's

Yes, and when she got home from the movies, she had a cocktail and woke up
in a tub full of ice. Someone had written on the mirror "Call 911" in
lipstick. When she called, they found out that one of her kidneys was
stolen! She drove to the hospital to get help, but on the way she flashed
her lights at a car, which turned out to be a signal to roving gangs who
then shot her to death. It actually was a good thing since in her back seat
was a man with an axe. A gas station attendant tried to warn her, but she
didn't pay attention. I think this can all be traced back to that
unfortunate incident in high school with the frozen hot dog. Or perhaps the
incident with her cat, the tuna fish and her strange desires. Or even the
time that her parents washed her hair with honey and maggots burrowed into
her scalp. Or maybe..

 -Caveat Lector-

MJ,

It appears that, in an attempt to get to the bottom of this, we have
painted ourselves into a corner. This is the old "fire in a crowded theater"
argument. Having to choose which freedoms are scared and which are not. And
I see your point, I really do. I'm not looking to get into some kind of
battle of wits with you (I know, because I'm unarmed. I'll save you the
trouble). I'll say this until I'm blue in the face, though. Driving drunk is
a proven killer. A drunk driver took the life of a close friend, so I know
all about it. Perhaps that's why I'm so heated up on the issue. Either way,
I'm not saying anything about the government, or executions, or internment
camps or anything of the sort. You brought that into the discussion. What I
am saying is that steps should be taken to PREVENT drunk driving. Education,
contracts for life, things like that. I'm not afraid of freedom, for the
last time. I AM afraid of dying, especially such a wasted and pointless
death as being run down by Joe Jock coming home from the Mellow Tiger after
a real bender.

 -Caveat Lector-

MJ,

I admit I'm quite puzzled by your post. You say that I'm afraid of
freedom, however you have produced nothing to support that claim. What I am
afraid of is that more people, like my friend, will die because we all sit
by plucking daisies and turning our heads to something we can work together
to prevent. Also, you have said that a potential is not a crime. You're
right, but..(this may shock you)...DRUNK DRIVING IS It's illegal! You
can't even have an open container in the car with you. That's the issue.
And, again, I'll try and explain it to you in simple terms. I agree that if
what you do does not harm anyone but yourself, by all means do it until you
drop dead. That was not what I am saying. I'm saying that when your actions
have negative impacts on those around you it becomes a problem. So please,
everybody...stop thinking that I'm challenging freedom. I'm not! I'm only
saying that there have been far to many good people cut down by drunk
drivers. Something needs to be done. And, MJ, for you to even use the term
"discrimination" in the same sentence as drunk driving is downright
offensive.

1999-02-04 Thread Brown, Jeremy

 -Caveat Lector-

Nessie,

I agree with you on the fact that no one should be able to dictate what
goes into, out of or anywhere near our bodies. I never said otherwise. The
point I am trying (in vain, it would appear) to make is that there are
people in the world who think nothing of starting the day by smoking a rock
of crack and then driving a school bus. People like this need to be
controlled, restrained, corralled, what have you. I couldn't care less if
they want to sit at home and smoke dust until their brain dries out. BUT,
the minute their actions affect the lives of me or my loved ones, then I
start to care. We can't keep turning a blind eye to issues like this under
the guise that we are protecting freedom. If we do, it's only a matter of
time before the people we've allowed to roam free on our highways and
backroads find us or someone we love, and, in exchange for the limitless
freedom we bestowed upon them, take the most basic freedom we have.

Sincerely,

Jeremy Brown

1999-02-04 Thread Brown, Jeremy

 -Caveat Lector-

Ed, I think you were too busy nailing together your soapbox to pay attention
to what I wrote and you missed my point entirely. I agree that you have the
right to do whatever you want to your body, and nowhere in my post did I
challenge that. The issue I was raising was that once you get behind the
wheel of a car, you have now brought people into the equation who did not
ask to be a part of your choices or actions. That's when it becomes less an
issue of freedom than an issue of public safety, something that should be
monitored and protected. I never EVER said that the government could or
should be able to dictate what we as individuals choose to do or not do. And
I think if you had actually read and comprehended what I said, instead of
seeing it as a means for you to drape yourself in the American flag shout
about how the government is seeking to control you, you would have seen that
for yourself.

In the future, perhaps it is you who should apply a little common sense.

 -Caveat Lector-

I have to jump on this one here. I think that punishing someone for the
potential to do wrong, in a case such as this, IS the right thing to do.
You mentioned that you may go out and kill someone because you feel like it
(hypothetically, of course). I think, based on that rationale, that you
should be restrained. If a person displays homicidal tendencies, as well as
an inability to understand the ramifications of their actions, then they
should indeed be kept under some sort of lock and key. If you drink, your
judgement is impaired, right? You are no longer able to understand or fully
comprehend your actions or the consequences thereof. You get behind the
wheel of a car, a very dangerous piece of machinery, and you are running the
very high risk of killing or hurting yourself and (worse) other people. You
wouldn't let a crazy person walk through a shopping mall with a loaded
pistol, correct? Yet, we see nothing wrong with letting hundreds of weekend
warriors out and about with their mental faculties no less hampered with a
far more dangerous and destructive piece of equipment at their fingertips.
Drunk drivers are a danger and a menace. If we could nip the problem at its
source, perhaps alot of lives that have already been lost (a very good
friend of mine's among them), could have been spared.

Is it me or does this whole thing sound like it was lifted directly from the
plot of last summer's "X-files" movie? I'm not saying that there may not be
something to this, it just seems like every time we here about this stuff
its in the form of "RUN FOR THE HILLS, FEMA IS COMING THEY'RE GOING TO
HYPNOTIZE YOU ALL AND MAKE YOU MENUDO FANS!!!". Instead of shouting to the
heavens and wanton saber-rattling, can anyone offer some real hard evidence
that this stuff is really happening? I hate to sound like a naysayer,
because I really do believe in the search for the truth, and I admire all
those who seek it. I just wish that there was some tangible evidence at
hand.

1999-02-02 Thread Brown, Jeremy

 -Caveat Lector-

You know, this whole thing takes me back to the time when I wrote "A Tale of
Two Cities". It took quite a while to finish it, though, as I was busy with
the Polio vaccine at the same time, as well as having just returned from
walking on the moon. Of course, none of this compares to the work I had to
do on "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band". That George Martin is a real
douchebag. Well, I'd love to keep talking about this, but I have to go and
accept my Oscar for directing "Saving Private Ryan" and my emmy for my
writing on "Frasier".

I like to buy Avon products, urinate in them and then resell them to
underprivileged immigrants from the Ukraine. This is how I supplement my
income in order to put myself through Goatherding School.

 -Caveat Lector-

Hey lady,

If I were you, I'd stop worrying about my age and start showing some
concern for your mental status. Are you such a dolt that you actually think
that what I wrote contains any profanity whatsoever? What are you stuck in
the 50s? No wonder your daughter is hanging out with a bunch of teenage
hoods. She probably got fed up with your Susie Homemaker, suburban
house-drone, grey, colorless and BLAND way of thinking. At least she can
have some fun during the day. You have GOT to be the stupidest woman to ever
get on a computer! And you have the gall to attack my intelligence. I
composed a lucid argument about Larry Flynt and Jerry the Cowardly Dogboy
called ME a neonazi! So I fire off a reply defending myself and you attack
ME? What are you, insane? Someone calls me a nazi and you think I'm the one
who has to dust my brain off. You're sick, you know that? You're a sick
person who has no clue how to relate to people. Perhaps you should dust off
your brain and your dated mentality. Don't try to mix it up with me, lady.
You have no idea what you're even talking about! Just stay inside your shell
and watch reruns of Donna Reed.

Jerry,

You're such a freak. I bet if you stared me down face to face you wouldn't
be half as bold as you are over e-mail. What gives you the power to
determine if I'm a neonazi or not? Because I have an opinon that differs
from yours? I think that makes you more of a nazi than I ever will be. And I
know you're a total pussy because the last time I challenged you on this

1999-01-14 Thread Brown, Jeremy

 -Caveat Lector-

Larry Flynt is a mushmouthed cripple who's entire life has been a farce. And
the sad thing is, the American people have BOUGHT INTO IT. Milos Forman's
1996 film did everything but depict Flynt on the cross in order to raise his
image to that of divinity. I'm waiting for the director's cut where Flynt is
showing rolling his gold-plated wheelchair through the streets of Calcutta,
doling out issues of "Barely Legal" to the lepers. Yes, the 1st amendment is
important and all that, but if you think for one moment that Flynt would
give a damn about the Constitution if it didn't serve his needs then you
have a seriously distorted view of the world. Flynt doesn't give a crap
about democracy, and he could care less about free speech. He just wants the
freedom to show beaver shots hassle-free. PLEASE, people. Stop kowtowing at
the foot of this slug! The only hypocrisy afoot is the one Flynt himself
promulgates.

 -Caveat Lector-

Mark,

I applaud your bravery in what was certainly a most dire situation. I too
have been working with a fifth column group dedicated to the overthrowing of
the mime culture. My contact goes by the name of Popo the Mime and has been
seen walking in the winf at the fountain at Lincolin Center and riding a
unicycle outside the Delacourte theater. He has detailed for me some of the
inner workings of the group. A plan to overtake the world that is almost too
insidious to describe. It will begin with strategically placed mimes
performing for prominent members of world socitey (artists, authors,
politicians). During their performance, they will ask slected members of the
audience to smell the flower they have attatched to their lapels or
suspenders. The flower will then release a blast of neurotoxin that will
permanently freeze the vocal cords, thereby making the only possible form of
communicationMIME!

Lloyd,

While I can apprecitate that your point of view need mot be the same as
everyone's, I must disagree. Perhaps they were pawns in a greater scheme (or
perhaps not), but they most certainly WERE NOT spineless. Would you have had
the courage to set foor on Omaha Beach, knowing that there was an almost
100% chance that you would be cut down instantly? These men and women paid
the greatest price in the interest of democracy. Don't spit on their graves
by calling them spineless.

Re: [CTRL] [[CTRL] Vive La France!]

1999-01-13 Thread Brown, Jeremy

 -Caveat Lector-

I think we should all mellow out. What's with the "accent on the WERE"
stuff? Personally, fun for me is NEVER in the past tense. I invite everyone
to lighten up, come down off your pedestals and soapboxes and enjoy life.
Truthfully, I found (and continue to find) it very gratifying that this list
actually had people who were willing to respond to my silliness in kind
(with certain exceptions). And it even gave rise to a rather interesting
discussion! SO let's just be happy with that and move on to the next hour of
the party, folks!

Jeremy

P.S. Mime still sucks ass.

Re: [CTRL] Vive La France!]

1999-01-12 Thread Brown, Jeremy

 -Caveat Lector-

Laura,

You raise an interesting point. However, I must argue that the comparison
of mime to x-rated movies doesn't hold much water. I admit to being a little
confused by this approach. How did you reach this conclusion? If I want to
see a film of that type, I have to get in my car, drive to a video store,
walk behind the groovy beaded curtain and pay for my selection. It is a
conscious decision on my part. However, a mime just comes up to you without
your consent or invitation and assaults your senses with a barrage of cheap
laughs and minimalist entertainment.
As for the message, an x-rated film's is pretty simple. "Get your rocks
off cheap!". A mime has no message. He or she is just a talentless hack
who's foisting off a dying art form on you in hopes of procuring spare
change.
In addition, from a sociological point of view, mimes don't have a leg
to stand on against x-rated entertainment. The reason being, is that if you
lined up a group of people outside of two rooms, and behind one door was a
screening room showing a "blue movie", and behind the other door was a mime,
I would be willing to bet that room #2 would be stark empty! Not that I'm
endorsing x-rated entertainment per say, but you and I know human nature
well enough to agree that most people (men and women) would take nudity and
sex over some creep on a unicycle.
That is quite interesting about the Clintons. Although it doesn't really
surprise me.

Take care,

Jeremy

Re: [CTRL] [[CTRL] Vive La France!]

1999-01-12 Thread Brown, Jeremy

 -Caveat Lector-

Carlene,

Regarding accordion music and it's state of damnation, I can safely say
that the polka music of Wisconsin does not fall in the same category. The
most basic reason stems from geography. The accordion music of the Wisconsin
polka is hearty, raucous, and punctuated by the mass consumption of beer. In
addition, the people of Wisconsin are hail-fellow, well-met types who make
any occasion a family-style event. This entire atmosphere makes the sound of
an accordion a welcome one. In contrast, the music that wafts through the
mass sewer that is the City of Lights is complemented by the scenery of the
repugnant French zipping around on their femme scooters, sucking down
Luckies, eating stale crullers, and slurping coffee that looks like muck
from the bottom of the Seine while popping the blackheads off their bony
posteriors. Taking all of this horror in while the sound of an accordion
assaults your ears, creates a nightmare not even Dante could have
envisioned.
Now, about the mime thingit is not opinion it is a FACT. Mime sucks
and the whole world knows it. The fact that no one has sent any rebuttal or
rebuke over my last post proves this irrefutably. Mime is for people who are
out of touch, have no taste and whose heads are crammed so far up their
asses, they need a glass belly button to see the world. That said, it's no
wonder the French love it so much.

Regards,

JB

Re: [CTRL] [[CTRL] Vive La France!]

1999-01-12 Thread Brown, Jeremy

 -Caveat Lector-

Carlene,

I appreciate your interest in my take on the French "culture". I must
confess, I have no hard evidence to support the statement that the buttocks
of the average Frenchman are indeed physically capable of playing any
bellows-driven instrument. However, I can attest that wherever you walk on
the cruddy streets of Paris, you CONSTANTLY hear that goddamn accordion
music playing. It's enough to make you sign up for the Luftwaffe. Regarding
the chef's hat theorem... If you take your average chef's hat, and then were
to compress it maniacally down on your head, you would be the proud wearer
of the most lopsided fashion idea in world history: THE BERET! Lastly, the
phrase "mime sucks ass" is not merely an observation or a statement of
vitriol. It is a bona fide fact. Let us examine the harsh truths of mime,
and together we will learn why it does indeed suck ass.

1) Mimes wear tight pants, horizontal striped shirts, and suspenders. -
This is an outfit that was chic in 1983 when it was worn by Mork from Ork,
but in the 1990s is only fit to be worn by someone who has broken out of an
insane asylum. Yet mimes flagrantly walk the streets in this getup and think
that they are making an artistic statement. Conclusion: If an art form
requires you to dress like a jerk, it sucks ass.

2) Mimes paint their faces stark white with that stupid teardrop on their
cheek. - Face-painting is something that shabby hotels offer to parents who
want to dump their kids somewhere while they go snorkeling. All kids hate
face painting, as it is annoying and always poorly done. The end result
always makes the poor child look like John Wayne Gacy. Conclusion: Face
painting sucks ass. Mime employs face painting. Therefore, mime sucks ass.

3) Mimes do stupid and annoying hand and body motions and try to pass it off
as art. - What is the appeal of watching some fool walk around with their
hands in front of them like their stuck in a box? Or climbing a mountain in
a windstorm? This has zero entertainment value. Now, if they really were
climbing a mountain in a windstorm, that would be entertaining. There is
also the chance that they would be blown off the mountain. One less mime.
Conclusion - Waving your hands around like a fan dancer with the DTs and
calling it art sucks ass.

4) Mime bother people on the street and occasionally employ annoying props
(whistles, balloons, etc.). - If I'm minding my own business walking to work
or whatever, the LAST thing I need is somebody in my face pretending to
catch an invisible ball in a paper bag and bleating a whistle in my ear.
It's the sort of occasion that the Tazer was designed for. And when the pass
that hat around, it really makes you wish you could puke at will.
Conclusion: Annoying innocent bystanders with loud sounds and second-rate
entertainment sucks ass.

There you have it, my friend. In a nutshell, the reasons why mime sucks ass.
I hope this has cleared up any misconceptions and answered any questions you
may have had about the world's WORST form of expression.

Warm regards,

JB

Look, if they've got such a big movie screen, do you think we can talk them
into showing the "Star Wars" prequel on it?

I was sodomized with the broken end of a Nehi bottle by a pair of Zeta

incident ocurred in tandem with my horrifying experience of being run over
repeatedly by a unicycle ridden by Spiro Agnew.

The French are all vulgar troglodytes who rarely bathe and stink of rancid
coffee and fetid wine. Those stupid berets look like deflated chef's hats.
And that freakin' Eiffel tower looks like an Erector set that was never
finished. It probably isn't finished. They were too busy laying down in the
gutters like DOGS as the Panzer tanks rolled over their stupid
accordion-playing asses.

"Oh-ho-ho, Messeiur Heetler, ze citee of Paris is yours for ze taking!"

The only complaint I have about Flynt, is that he should not have made a
cameo appearance in the movie about his life! I mean, we're going along,

Re: [CTRL] Fwd: Criminalizing Homelessness

1999-01-08 Thread Brown, Jeremy

 -Caveat Lector-

Screw all the homeless!!! Personally, I would like to kick up dust in their
collective faces as my Range Rover speeds me off to a ski vacation in Aspen!
However, I would not want to sully the Gucci bags I have on the luggage rack
with their cooties. During this cold month of January, I like to think about
the homeless people of this country. I usually do it while sitting on the
deck of my house in St. Thomas. Then I collapse into fits of laughter.

What do you think they say as they're going to sleep?
"Hey Joe, isn't this bed GRATE?"

What does a homeless kid say to his parents when he turns 18?
"Mom, Dad. I have to move out. This place has me BOXED IN!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

This is America, land of opportunity! If they don't know how to work
hard and get ahead, then I say they are criminals! They are violating the
basic principles of capitalism. I say if you do not have at least $250,000
in the bank by the time you are 27 then you are lazy, shiftless and should
be rounded up with the rest of the freeloaders and destroyed.

LONG LIVE THE TOP 10%!!

and 'conspiracy theory', with its many half-truths, misdirections and outright
frauds is used politically by different groups with major and minor effects
spread throughout the spectrum of time and thought. That being said, CTRL
gives no endorsement to the validity of posts, and always suggests to readers;
be wary of what you read. CTRL gives no credeence to Holocaust denial and
nazi's need not apply.

Let us please be civil and as always, Caveat Lector.

Re: [CTRL] Senate letter

1999-01-08 Thread Brown, Jeremy

 -Caveat Lector-

The great tragedy of all of this impeachment stuff is that President Clinton
might be forced out of office before May 21 and then he wouldn't get to see
a free screening of the "Star Wars" prequel. Then he'll have to wait on line
with everyone else while people make jokes about his crooked lightsaber.

Re: [CTRL] External Forces

1999-01-08 Thread Brown, Jeremy

 -Caveat Lector-

Yes, I can confirm this. It is a result of Donnie Osmond's purple socks
being sucked into the NORAD computer and causing it to crash. My computer
has a virus too, so I have kept it home from school and presribed Children's
Tylenol for the fever. This is a grave concern for us as a nation. It is
even more frightening than the time I found out that I was made of tin foil
and reflected the sun wherever I went. Of course, I shouldn't be telling you
this as I have a radio in my head that is controlled by Eva Peron. If I am
discovered revealing sensitive information, she will make me listen to
selections from "The Sound of Music" performed by Tyne Daly through a
running vaccum cleaner. Naturally this is something to sneeze at, but not
too close as I don't want to make my computer even more ill than it is. Why
don't we all just tie ribbons in our entrails and try to use our pets as
kites. That way we can get them tangled in passing planes and get free trips
to anywhere in the world.
