Bug#469826: xkb-data: Outdated French Dvorak keymap (bépo)

2008-03-07 Thread Roland Mas
Package: xkb-data
Version: 1.1~cvs.20080104.1-1
Severity: wishlist

/usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/fr contains an old version of the Bépo
keymap: it lists version 6.2.1.1 (which I believe actually refers to
0.6.2.1.1) but the current upstream version is 0.6.4. Since the
changes are not only cosmetic (the Y and H letters have been swapped,
for instance), I suggest updating the file in xkb-data. Current data
can be found on http://www.clavier-dvorak.org/wiki/Version_0.6.4

  Thanks,

Roland.

Yes, it does. Looking at the log, it seems that your system was misdetected

Could you please also send us the hardware-summary file (that's also in

You're absolutely right. Qt 3.3.8 broke those fonts. I'll see what I can do.
Please note that I'm not going to address #405114, it's nearly impossible
without rewrite. This bug is only about 3.3.8 regression.

Bug#469825: can't allocate memory when updating tzdata

2008-03-07 Thread Stefano Zacchiroli
Package: cowdancer
Version: 0.44
Severity: important

Here is a log from a "sudo cowbuilder --update":

Preparing to replace tzdata 2007k-3 (using .../tzdata_2007k-4_all.deb) ...
  Unpacking replacement tzdata ...
  Setting up tzdata (2007k-4) ...

memory
  dpkg: error processing tzdata (--configure):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
  Errors were encountered while processing:
   tzdata

It happened to me also during the previous update of tzdata, the only
solution I've found back then was to erase the cowbuilder and recreate
it from scratch. I thought it was some weirdness in my chroot but
apparently I'm able to reproduce it at each tzdata update. Attached you
can find my pbuilder/cowbuilder configuration.

TIA,
Cheers.

User A wants a super solid webmail setup. So she picks Dovecot and
Postfix for the backends, and postman as frontend (to avoid php).

User B wants fancy features, so picks courier and horde.

User B must use Maildir storage, but user A might want to go with mbox,
as it is safer (Maildir support in c-client _is_ a hack unsupported by
Mark Crispin!).

So if only they offered same ABI, we could offer multiple variants of
libc-client to our users, one supported upstream, and one with
additional fancy add-ons like Maildir support.

Does it make more sense now?

Bug#469829: compose does not work correctly

2008-03-07 Thread W. Martin Borgert
Package: finch
Version: 2.4.0-1
Severity: important

I use finch in xfce4-terminal. Compose is enabled in xorg.conf:

Option "XkbOptions" "compose:ralt"

Some characters work, e.g. the EURO-Symbol using Compose+=
(equal sign) and Compose+E.

But most combinations do not work and make finch unusable in an
international environment. E.g.:

- Compose+s and Compose+s should produce German sharp-s, but
  produce an underbar

- Compose+" (double quote) and a/o/u open a dialog instead of
  producing vocal with diaresis

- Compose+~ (tilde) with Compose+n should give Spanish n with
  tilde (eñe), but finch terminates...

Bug#469208: bug report pci don't works

2008-03-07 Thread Frans Pop
On Tuesday 04 March 2008, win wrote:
> Does't mean, that these pci must not works in this distr?

No, what Geert meant is that configuring your system for support of those
devices is outside the scope of the installation system.

This also means that the people who read the installation reports cannot
really help you with the configuration of those devices.

As the installation itself was successful, there was thus no reason to keep
your installation report open.

If you need help with that his suggestion is that you try asking on the
debian-user mailing list. If you can identify specific issues with specific
packages, you can also file bug reports against those packages.

I agree with you that Geert could have worded his reply better, but in
essence it was correct.

Good luck getting your remaining issues solved.

Cheers,
FJP

Yay! Upgrading mesa-common-dev and rebooting fixed both issues :-)

Thanks for the work on this, i will set the depends to be mesa-common >=
version in testing. Worst case is someone running etch will have to
upgrade there mesa which seems to be broken anyway.

Bug#465903: cryptroot remote unlocking on boot feature

2008-03-07 Thread debian

hi!

Hi, if I understand the concept correctly, the initial ramdisk isn't
encrypted, and holds the ssh host key. Doesn't this enable an attacker
to steal the cryptroot passphrase?

that's correct.
if the attacker has physical access to the host, the host key can be
stolen. this could be used for a mitm attack to capture the cryptroot
passphrase when entered from remote.
this is also true for the cryptroot concept itself, currently with
physical access to the host the initramfs could also be compromised to
capture the passphrase when entered at the console.
(other things to consider regarding physical security would be
hw-keyloggers, tempest, the-recent-eff/princeton-dram-nightmare, etc.)

these things should of course be considered when using cryptroot and/or
when unlocking from remote.

i'm currently checking out possible solutions, i.e. a way to check the
machine's identity from remote, and the integrity of the software
running. in general i guess this is a different, disjunctive topic, but
interesting not just for the reasons above, but beyond that because this
should make a secure split-key mechanism possible, enabling an automated
secure cryptroot boot without any human interaction...

regards,

Chris

Hmm, good point. But it'd be better for scripts to explicitly request

Thanks. That neatly identifies the cause of the problem.

For your system /proc/cpuinfo has:
cpu : RS64-IV (sstar)

And currently we only check for:
   power3|i-star|s-star|power4|power4+|ppc970*|power5|power5+

I have added detection for your system and have also queued that change for
the next stable point release.

Thanks for reporting the issue and providing the needed info.

A check for mounted iSCSI targets would also be nice.

Bug#469832: dbconfig-common: doesn't honour the order of the supported database types ($dbc_dbtypes)

2008-03-07 Thread Niko Tyni
Package: dbconfig-common
Version: 1.8.37
Severity: minor
Tags: patch

I'd like to specify a preference order for the supported dbtypes, so that
the default debconf choice would be the first one from my $dbc_dbtypes
list that is installed. Unfortunately dbconfig-common doesn't take
the order into account at all because it loops through the hardcoded
$dbc_all_supported_dbtypes and stops at the first good candidate.

Please consider the attached patch. It is suboptimal in the degenerate
case, when none of the $dbc_dbtypes are viable, but I think that means
something is wrong with either $dbc_dbtypes or the package dependencies.

PS. Many thanks for the 1.8.37 release!

I should check it better, but have no time right now :-(

In my machine "atomo" the difference between the loki (original
loki_2.4.7.4.orig.tar.gz) and loki-funkcianta (working loki) are as
follows:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/local/src$ uname -a
Linux atomo 2.6.22-14-generic #1 SMP Tue Dec 18 05:28:27 UTC 2007 x86_64

< static void *yy_flex_realloc YY_PROTO(( void *, yy_size_t )) __unused;

I remember that I had to remove the files param_lex.c param_parse.c
control_parse.c control_lex.c
but I think that was an unrelated problem.

Bug#469834: kmail crashing immediately after showing the GUI

2008-03-07 Thread Peter Niebling
Package: kmail

After updating kmail to the latest version, it's never coming up at all.
The GUI is to see for a second and it's gone to die.

With gcc/g++ 4.3 the generated code does not segfault indeed.
The version of g{cc,++}-4.3 I've used is 4.3.0~rc2-1.

The gtkmathview package however does not build out of the bug with gcc
of the 4.3 family, it needs some of the usual hacking for missing
includes. The upstream author has been notified about the needed changes
which will be included in the next release.

What should I do next then? The situation is that gtkmathview builds
with with gcc 4.1 and 4.3, but not with 4.2. Would it be fine to
build-depend on gcc-4.3 to solve the issue? I would say "no", because
even 4.3 is currently the non-standard gcc/g++, but I would be happy to
be proven wrong.

Let me know.
Cheers.

no, it started with the update to 1.0.12~pre080131b-0etch1 as
mentioned

in the original bug report.

I bisected and found the culprit patch:

Now, I don't know how to fix this, but on the other hand, I can't
reproduce the crash it's supposed to fix either...

I can't even reproduce with iceweasel 2.0.0.10-0etch1...

Ah yeah, great, it doesn't work because I don't have access to

Chaps - it looks like the same bug may also be present in icedove - do
you want me to file a separate bug report for that?

That would really require major changes to netcfg (the responsible
component). Main problem there is that we don't really have any people
actively working on that.
There is already an open BR with a similar request: #257883.

I cannot reproduce this. If I select "no" at the question to allow root to
login the system is correctly set up for sudo use with root account
disabled.

Please send us the syslog (gzipped!) for this install. It should be
available in /var/log/installer.
If that does not provide sufficient information, we'll probably have to ask
you to reproduce the issue with extra debugging during the install.

Cheers,
FJP

P.S. Could you please provide the info requested in:
 http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=463483#10 ?

yes, except that rc-alert doesn't know about release goals.

I don't think that duplication hurts here: one of the tools is
command-line based, the other is web-based.

Bug#469836: Please add ntfs-3g to sendsigs.omit

2008-03-07 Thread Michael Biebl
Package: ntfs-3g
Version: 1:1.2216-1
Severity: normal

Hi,

currently if I have a ntfs partition mounted, shutdown (sendsigs) will
complain that it failed to end all processes.
This is because the ntfs partition is still mounted.
ntfs-3g should use the new sendsigs.omit interface in initscripts, to
prevent it from being killed during shutdown.
See the /usr/share/doc/initscripts/README.Debian
"sendsigs process omission interface"

Cheers,

djpig has added libgd-gd2-perl to B-D-I and written a patch to fix
test failures.

I've played around a bit now:
* installed libtest-harness-perl in my sid cowbuilder chroot
* built the package without the patch -> breaks as described
* built with the patch applied -> works

I guess we can close this bug with a new upload of the version in
svn.

Hi,

If I'm not mistaken HAL listens to the eject signal from the drive and
it's up to gnome-volume-manager to unmount and eject it. Do you have it
installed and running?

This sounds more like a problem with E17 than Totem.

Hi,

you're probably right. I don't use it anymore (I'm using gxine; I don't
have any eject problem with it). I think you can close this bug, because
I didn't have gnome-volume-manager when totem didn't work...

Patch are welcome :-)

Thanks.

It will most be installing package that are using the special hardware.
Example given, for PDA support, search for 'PDA' in synaptic.

I can understand that one expects the installer doing the install of all
packages. One the user founds his way to the package manager, he may
start understanding why the installer has a limited scoop.

Back to the question:
> > Does't mean, that these pci must not works in this distr?

Your various devices do work in the Debian distribution.
Just find your way to package managers like synaptic.

Package: libgtk2.0-0
Version: 2.12.8-1
Severity: normal

I'm trying to improve my typing speed and reduce the stress in my
wrists and fingers, which involves switching to a Dvorak-like keymap.
For French, the only maintained keymap is the "bépo" one, which is the
one I'm therefore likely to choose (but the problem happens for
others, I'm just picking bépo for the sake of example).

I'm used to the azerty keymap, which is my default keymap and goes
something like this:
,
| azertyuiop^$
| qsdfghjklmù*
| http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=162726 about three years
ago. Apparently upstream doesn't want to fix that, claiming it's a
feature. While I can understand their argument from a pure Gnome
point of view, I believe that behaviour should be considered a bug
(and fixed) in Debian. My rationale is that Debian has always been
about integration, so it's very common to have Gtk apps running at the
same time as apps using other toolkits. Having shortcuts as common as
Control-C on different keys depending on the application is extremely
confusing, as is the fact that typing a C and typing a Control-C
involve different keys. This bug renders the ability to have several
keymaps useless, in my mind.

Roland.

Well, maybe the difference is that I minimise the tasksel step. I
uncheck all the boxes in tasksel, so it proceeds to install only six
packages (ibritish, wbritish, myspell-en-gb etc.). Is it possible that
the correct setting up of root and user logins is dependent on packages
in the default tasksel selections? This would explain why sudo isn't
installed, but not why root logins are not disabled, nor why my local
user is not created (I think adduser is installed earlier, during the
base system step).

I'm very sorry, /var/log/installer doesn't exist. Possibly because I
removed the installation-report package after submitting this. Stupid of
me.

Happy to see if I can reproduce it - let me know what to do re
debugging.

The 0.8 rc1 version has just been delivered. It seems to correctly handle
chnage in the meeting (date, time, ...). I would really beta test it to
make sure it works with ootlook 2003 but cannot as xpi are not compatible
as usual.

Plus, 0.7 took way to much to my personnal taste to find a way into debian

Hum... sorry for the ignorance (and thanks for the explanation) :-)

But there is another issue:

$ chown naoliv:na[TAB]
$ chown naoliv:naoliv\: foo
chown: invalid group: `naoliv:naoliv:'

At least I think that it shouldn't put a \: at the end of the group name, right?

Thank you!

Bug#469840: joe: Variables in single-quoted strings should not be syntax highlighted in PHP

2008-03-07 Thread Sam Penny
Package: joe
Version: 3.5-1.1
Severity: normal
Tags: patch

Syntax highlighting for PHP highlights variables in single-quoted strings.
Only double-quoted strings have variables interpreted, so there is no
meaning to a dollar sign ("$") in a single-quoted string and it ought not to
be highlighted.

I'm not intimately familiar with the format of the .jsf files so I may have
missed something, but this change appears to do what I expected.

Bug#469841: mediawiki: select fixes for postgreSQL backend

Coin fellow DD,

I've managed to fix a few problems in the pg support (but still many
remains). This patch would solve SELECT requests with ORDER BY or GROUP
BY, which request having the fields of these options be added in the
fetched fields in certains conditions. I'm not sure all cases are
matched, but the most usual ones are.

Regards.

Bug#455000: Debtags claim this is part of GNU.

2008-03-07 Thread Frank B. Brokken
Dear Daniel,

Thank you for your contribution to the Bisonc++ package. In the bug you
filed against Bisonc++ you wrote:

> This package is tagged with "suite::gnu" ...
> ...
> I think the tag should be dropped.

and I couldn't agree more. I was amazed to find this tag myself when I looked
at Bisonc++'s tags: neither me nor Tony or George (Bisonc++'s co-maintainers)
have defined that tag for Bisonc++ so we're wondering why it's there in the
first place. I've been trying to repair the tagging for several days now, but
all my attempts were in vain. It's simply not clear how to change tags:
debtags-edit doesn't work (AFAICS) and the web-based tagging allows me to
retag, but not the tags that are shown when you look up a package (e.g.,
http://packages.debian.org/lenny/bisonc++). I have asked Enrico (who, if
I'm right is the tag-maintainer) for help: I assume that once he replies the
tagging problem will be over.

For now: I thought it appropriate to send you this reply to let you know that
your bug is acknowledged and that I fully agree with your observation. Once I
know how to retag I'll do that right away.

Cheers,

Bug#469842: when resizing a Debian Live partition, parted says "Error: The file system is bigger than its volume!"

2008-03-07 Thread Pierre Bauduin
Package: parted
Version: 1.7.1-5.1

Here is what it looks like on the USB key:

You see there is about 1.2 GB free after that Linux partition.

I am trying to move that Linux partition to the end of the 2 GB USB key.
This way I will be able to create a 1.2 GB FAT32 partition at the beginning
of the USB key.

Here is what I am doing:

Ouch ! parted won't let me move the partition !

Bug#469467: wesnoth campaign description in debian/control is too generic

I actually like the sof one, it kind of sets the mood for the story, but
perhaps you are right, its not really descriptive of the campaign.
And this (from the wiki) seems too short:

The story of the creation of the Sceptre of Fire, featured in the "Heir to the
Throne" campaign, by the Dwarves of Knalga.

In Suse they have:

A campaign about the creation of the sceptre of fire. It intentionally
goes against what is stated about the sceptre in Heir to the Throne,
but that is because what is stated in HttT would not make an
interesting campaign.

which, hmmm, don't think is a good description either.

I have never played wesnoth so, its a bit difficult for me to come up with a
reasonable description. From what I have read so far, perhaps something like:

Lead the Dwarves of Knalga in a campaign about the creation of the Sceptre of
Fire, first seen in the "Heir To The Throne" campaign.

"The land of Wesnoth's banner bold
Comes not from its own land;
It comes from Dwarfdom, grim and old"

(Expert level, 9 scenarios)

And for nr (I think that's what you meant? I could not find any nb), the
description in _main.cfg doesn't seem too long:

For the people of Dwarven Doors the choice was stark: either drudge as
downtrodden slaves for the orcs until the end of their brief and miserable
lives, or risk all for freedom and rise up against their cruel overlords.
Little did they suspect that their struggle would be the hinge of great
events that might restore the Northlands to the glory they had once known.

(Expert level, 14 scenarios)

If you really want to make it shorter, perhaps something like:

Help the enslaved people of Dwarven Doors to raise against their cruel orc
overlords, in an epic event that might change forever the fate of the
Northlands.

(Expert level, 14 scenarios)

Good, then there is no need for an FFe and we can simply sync!

Bug#469846: python-pysnmp4: Uninstallable because of libsmi2->libsmi2ldbl transition

2008-03-07 Thread Cyril Brulebois
Package: python-pysnmp4
Version: 4.1.8a-1
Severity: serious
Justification: Uninstallable

Hi,

because of libsmi2 got renamed to libsmi2ldbl (long double transition),
your package can't be installed anymore. That can't be solved through a
binNMU since:
 1. binNMU'ing arch:all packages isn't supported.
 2. the dependency is hardcoded, so rebuilding wouldn't solve that.

Please update your Depends: line.

Cheers,

Yes 4.0 was pretty horrible on m68k. 4.1 improved things a great deal.

Please do.

This does point to a bug in the installer though.

Yes, it does. Looking at the log, it seems that your system was
misdetected as 'powerpc', while it should be 'powerpc64'.

Could you please also send us the hardware-summary file (that's also in
/var/lib/installer)?

Please find attached the '/var/log/installer/hardware-summary'.

Cheers,
FJP

Bug#469849: hangs on shutdown

2008-03-07 Thread Brent S. Elmer
Package: gdm
Version: 2.20.3-1
Severity: normal

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---
gdm hangs my computer on shutdown and logout of gnome. On logout, all of gnome
is removed from the screen
except for the background and the computer hangs. cntl-alt f1, f2,... doesn't
work to go to another session either.
I have to hard shutdown to get out. On shutdown, I get the background only
screen but after a few minutes,
the computer will eventually shutdown. Sometimes when I start my computer back
up my gnome panels are blank gray bars.
Shutting down and restarting a few times usually brings the gnome panels back.
Sometimes I have to log into gnome-failsafe and the panels come back.

Just for the record, I don't think this is a good idea. It makes the
package more complicated, users have to waste time with checking out
what they need, while 99.99% will not care about 5M of disk space that
cost about 0.1 cent.

Bug#469850: sip4: "sip: QPixmap has not been defined"

2008-03-07 Thread Adam C Powell IV
Package: sip4
Version: 4.7.4-1

Greetings,

I am trying to build a new package called Salomé, and within the last
month, a new error has shown up in the sip stage of the build:

/usr/bin/sip -t WS_X11 -t Qt_3_3_8b -x Qt_STYLE_INTERLACE -x Qt_STYLE_WINDOWSXP
-x Qt_ASSISTANTCLIENT -s ".cc" -c . -I /usr/share/sip/qt/qt SALOME_PYQT_GUI.sip
sip: QPixmap has not been defined

This worked fine in testing at least through January 25, so whatever is
causing this entered testing between then and now.

You can download the current Salomé package (including failed build log)
at: http://lyre.mit.edu/~powell/salome/ and when you unpack it, go to
salome-3.2.6/GUI_SRC_3.2.6/src/SALOME_PYQT/SALOME_PYQT_GUI/ to reproduce
the above error.

[If you want to try to build Salomé, you'll need the hdf5-openmpi
packages in the build-deps directory there (bug 457080) and also
opencascade in http://lyre.mit.edu/~powell/opencascade/ (ITP bug
464400). Salomé used to only build on testing because of its omniORB
4.0.x dep; as of -6 it should build in unstable with omniORB 4.1.1.]

Thank you for any help you can provide in getting this working again.

Regards,
-Adam

Also it mentions at the end of the chapter a link to "Please follow the HOWTO
from the debian-devel-announce:
http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-announce/2006/03/msg00023.html ."... which
is no longer present in the list archives at that URL :(

Hope this helps,

Is that a build of the current source package "xen-unstable" on
architecture amd64?
Because the current "xen-unstable" is unbuildable and it makes it a bit more
difficult to reproduce the problem.

Can you make a run with the "-v" option of dpkg-shlibdeps and send the
log?

Thanks for the report, fixed.

The defaults mimic the layout of the official Debian archive from when
I last looked. This had uncompressed Packages but no uncompressed
Sources (most likely because Sources were only added later).

Since etch Debian no longer has uncompressed Packages files, so
reprepro's default will likely change in the near future to not have
unpacked Packages, too.

I see... However, having uncompressed Packages/Sources files on a
local repository is an advantage since, IIRC, grep-dctrl still cannot
handle compressed input.

Bug#469650: console-setup: [INTL:eu] debconf templates Basque translation

2008-03-07 Thread Piarres Beobide

Christian Perrier(e)k dio:

You can:-)

Sorry ,I dont search in svn :(

console-setup is maintained by the D-I team and lies in
packages/console-setup in D-I SVN.

Its PO file is currently not aggregated in the D-I master files
because console-setup is not used in D-I, so translators have to work
on it separatelybut still can commit updates themselves.

PS: don't forget updating debian/changelog as well (including the
needed "Closes" statement for this bug report)

I am not sure how to edit changelog, I see the changelog last lines are:

console-setup (1.22) UNRELEASED; urgency=low

 * Proofread and correct debconf templates (LP: #181860).
 * Treat 'any' as a synonym for 'NoSymbol' in XKB input files (LP: #93077).

Bug#421674: Please remove CIDfonts function from x-ttcidfont-conf

2008-03-07 Thread Hideki Yamane
Package: x-ttcidfont-conf
Version: 27

Hi,

I met a bug when configure x-ttcidfont-conf package, too. see below.

Unpacking replacement x-ttcidfont-conf ...
Setting up x-ttcidfont-conf (27) ...
Updating font configuration of x-ttcidfont-conf...
Cleaning up category cmap..
Cleaning up category cid..
Cleaning up category truetype..
Updating category truetype..
Updating category cid..
Updating category cmap..
Can't exec "/usr/bin/mkcfm": No such file or directory at
/var/lib/defoma/scripts/x-ttcidfont-conf.defoma line 791.

Since mkcfm is removed from X packages because of its license, CID related
function in x-ttcidfont-conf does NOT work now.

And upstream X.org says "CIDfonts are obsolete, so mkcfm is deprecated."
 https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5553

Yes, CIDfonts (and NEWCIDfonts) will be replaced to OpenType format fonts
(if there is OpenType font package in Debian, its name would be otf-,
  like otf-thai-tlwg package).

 Summary
  - mkcfm is non-free
  - X.org think CIDfonts are obsolete

So we should remove CIDfont related code from this utility (and maybe
 change its package name(x-tt"cid"font-conf).

If we want to use CIDfont, they upstream says that we convert it to
OpenType or something (however, I don't know how to do it).

No wonder. As Riku Voipio wrote in a post to debian-devel-announce [1]:

"As most ARM CPUs do not have FPUs, armel is by default softfloat. The
old arm port has peculiar mixed-endian double presentation and it
emulates a FPU using kernel exceptions, which is *painfully* slow."

Perhaps some users will try Octave on armel?

It would be a better catch-all to check for RS64.*

Bug#469855: postinst fails if udev is not running

2008-03-07 Thread Joe Nahmias
Package: nut
Version: 2.2.1-2
Severity: serious
Tags: patch

Hello,

It seems that the nut postinst script errors out if udev is not running
at the time the script is run. This creates problems in buildds or
chroots since udev is normally not started in those environments. See,
for example, the i386 build log for collectd 4.3.0-2 at:
http://buildd.debian.org/fetch.cgi?pkg=collectd;ver=4.3.0-2;arch=i386;stamp=1204846772

The following patch below should fix this:

Bug#469856: should not read tags on quit

2008-03-07 Thread Nico Golde
Package: moc
Version: 1:2.5.0~alpha2-2
Severity: normal

Hi,
after putting moc in the background (q) or closing it
completely (Q) it always starts reading the tags of the
music files which takes really long for long playlists and
files that are accessed via an nfs share. I often kill mocp
then because I just want to close the application. It would
be nice if that would happen on the start and in the
background cause moc is also not accessible while this
happens.

Kind regards
Nico

Do you need any help with that?

We could fairly easily ship both this old PHP implementation and
the PECL module in the same package.

I understand that qtoctave, octave-sp, shogun-octave, and octplot are
blocked by some architetures autobuilders. However, there is no issue
regarding the wims package, since it depends on "octave", which is a virtual
package provided by both octave2.1 and octave3.0.

Another question: which program should I run in order to obtain the output
above?

Severity: grave

Justification: renders package unusable

Hi !

Latest uploaded package (0.6-2) is currently broken when compiling in
native mode.

This is due to a mistake in the build sequence. The package is fixed in
the svn, if you want to test:
  svn://svn.debian.org/svn/pkg-ocaml-maint/trunk/packages/ocaml-magic/trunk

I'll upload the fixed package when the transition is over..
