Good luck on your mission. I send people to learn TM at TM centers and they get
turned off right away on going in with how 'odd' the presentation is.
'Arrogant' is another word that gets used along with, 'cult'. The technique is
nice to learn and practice and it can be well taught. It seems over-produced
now in a way that triggers people. There has been so much about cults and abuse
recently in media around spirituality and religion that people seem much more
sensitive to what they may be getting into. ..compared to centering prayer and
mindfulness meditations that are more widely taught adapting principles of
effortlessness now very similar to some TM techniques. I hope these TM folks
can figure it out and do well and exist in the very competitive marketplace.

blusc0ut, thanks for grabbing this for us.

It's from Wikileaks and is titled "New Points for the
Standard Introductory Lecture on the Transcendental
Meditation program from the International Course to
Recertify Governors, April 2005."

I don't see anything one way or the other about "belief"
being required for TM to work, but from point #10 on,
from what I can remember of the intro lectures I've been
to (most recently around 20 years ago), there are some
interesting differences.

Can anyone who was teaching back then verify that my
memory is accurate? These new points seem to involve a
lot more of a hard sell, among other things.

These are from 2005, before the David Lynch project with
school kids and before the TMO took much of the woo-woo-iest
stuff off its Web sites. Are these 2005 points reflected in
intro lectures currently, or have they been toned back down?
I'd imagine the kids get a more down-to-earth intro lecture
in any case.

They're .flv files, actually, Flash video. You have to
download them to your hard disk and have an FLV player
installed on your system to play them (as opposed to
playing them from the Web). And he's zipped some of them.

Apparently Merudanda has realized this is a problem and
has started including links to the videos on YouTube in
his posts so folks who don't have FLV players can see
them. But he really shouldn't upload these FLV files to
our Files section anyway, because they're pretty big and
eat up a lot of our limited space.

I don't know what the "Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 7/lets hear
jerry.z01" file is. When I download it and unzip it,
Windows tells me it's "the first file in a backup set"
and asks me to "choose the last file in the set." I have
no idea what that means. And I have no idea why Merudanda
uploaded it to the Bhagavad-Gita Chapter 7 folder!

Probably because they're clueless about things like "cut and paste."
You don't know how many times I've seen someone start to type in an
article and I've shown them right click->select all->copy and then paste
in to the client Window. A couple years ago my nephew's wife created a
book of Christmas song lyrics for our yearly jam. She started cracking
up when we did "The Twelve Days of Christmas" because she left out a day
when she typed it in. I had sent her a link to a lot of songs
including that one so she should have just cut and paste. She said "no,
that wouldn't work because I wanted to change the font." My older
nephew and I had to bite our tongues to keep from rolling on the floor
laughing.

Note that what Vaj posted in this file is neither
(a) what he claimed in his recent post was MMY's
translation (he said it came from "MIU documents"),
nor (b) the translation MMY was using at least
since 1985.

It's closer to the latter, but there are still many
differences.

Here's the translation from Vaj's file:

"Richa is situated in Akshara: knowledge is structured
in consciousness, the nonchanging transcendental basis
of all relative existence, in which reside the impulses
of creative intelligence responsible for the whole
manifest universe.

"He whose awareness is not open to this level of reality,
what can these eternal expressions of knowledge accomplish
for him? He whose awareness is open to it--the field of
pure consciousness, the home of all knowledge--is
profoundly established in it."

And here's the translation MMY has been using at least
since 1985 (that's the earliest citation I can find, but
he may have been using it well before that):

"The verses of the Ved exist in the collapse of fullness
(the Kshara of 'A') in the transcendental field, in
which reside all the devas, the impulses of creative
intelligence, the laws of nature responsible for the
whole manifest universe.

"He whose awareness is not open to this field, what can
the verses accomplish for him? Those who know this level
of reality are established in evenness, wholeness of life."

The verse actually means "seated in
> the highest heaven", not "structured in consciousness"
> as often claimed by TM-bots.

It's not "claimed" by anybody who is familiar with
the translation I quoted, because "structured in
consciousness" isn't in it.

Vaj doesn't mean to say "the verse," BTW; he's
referring to a phrase in the verse, "parame
vyoman."

Note that "parame vyoman" is translated as "the
nonchanging transcendental basis of all relative
existence" in Vaj's file, and more simply as "the
transcendental field" in the translation I quoted.
In neither version is it translated as "structured
in consciousness."

Where Vaj got the "seated in the highest heaven"
translation is unclear, but it doesn't seem to be
on the Web in any translations, TM or non-, of this
verse. But it's not too difficult to see how
someone doing a "poetic" translation might use the
phrase "the highest heaven" for a Sanskrit term
for which someone else striving for a more precise
and technical translation would use "transcendental
field." To claim one or the other is a
"mistranslation" is foolish, to say the least (sort
of like interpreting Genesis based on a literal
reading of the King James translation).

Vaj's confusion here is so convoluted it would take
forever to straighten out, so I'm not going to try.

> From the original 1974/75 MIU Catalogue page XI

If you Google any of the distinctive phrases in the
translation I quoted, you'll get many hits citing it
and attributing it to Maharishi, including at least
three times on the MUM Web site. Here's one instance:

http://is1.mum.edu/vedicreserve/tm.htm

I couldn't find on the Web any of the distinctive
phrases in the translation in Vaj's file. Obviously
if MMY translated it that way at one time, he
subsequently revised it (probably after he developed
his Apaurusheya Bhashya ideas). The one I quoted is
the only translation I've ever seen used in the TM
context.

Oh, this is interesting. Here's Aurobindo's
translation:

"The Rishi Dirghatamas speaks of the Riks, the
Mantras of the Veda, as existing 'in a supreme
ether, imperishable and immutable in which all
the gods are seated,' and he adds 'one who knows
not That what shall he do with the Rik?'"

Which seems closer to "supreme ether,
imperishable and immutable": "highest heaven"
or "transcendental field"?

If Vaj had a genuine point to make, he'd do well to
take another crack at it when he's able to think
clearly, because what he's posted up to this point is
nonsense.

Just a bunch of naked pictures of famous movie stars. (Earnest Borgnine,
Kathy Bates, etc.)

No, it's an up-to-date bibliography of TM research sent out by David OJ

[FairfieldLife] Re: New file uploaded to FairfieldLife

2008-09-07 Thread transactual
I just wanted to add a bit of text about what this file that I
uploaded is about:

This is a 50-page intro of a book called "Who, In Fact, You Really
Are." Here's a description of the book:

Who Are You, Really?

Ever wonder about the meaning of life? Why we're here? What the
Universe is all about?

You're not alone. There are hundreds of thousands, maybe millions of
us out there. Just like you.

What if the Creator were to give you a "college education" about the
nature of the Universe? What if All That Is would dictate a book that
would answer some of your deepest questions, including explaining the
true nature and structure of the Universe, how to perform magic and
manifest physical things, the nature of time and space in relation to
consciousness, and most importantly, the absolute answer of "Who, In
Fact, You Really Are?"

This is that book.

The force that expressed itself through Jesus, Buddha, Krishna,
Mohammed, Edgar Cayce and other great avatars who served as channels
for what is commonly referred to as "God" communicates again today as
the world begins to enter a period of Spiritual Ascension with a new
consciousness and awareness.

This force, which refers to itself as Cosmic Awareness so that it
cannot be confused with an entity or a personality, has been
communicating for more than 40 years through several carefully
trained channels who go deep into trance and communicate the energies
and symbols that are expressed, putting them into human language. As
it reveals this information, Cosmic Awareness does not ask you
to "believe" anything, but to question, explore, doubt and discover
for yourself the Truth that is within you — to discover "Who, In
Fact, You Really Are."

The book consists of a set of 144 carefully structured lessons that
took over 10 years to create. They are designed to lead you, step by
step, from where you are now to where you want to be. This amazing
information begins with Cosmic Awareness telling you what Cosmic
Awareness itself is, how the Universe and humans (and non-humans)
were created, and leads you through birth, childhood, adulthood,
magic, sex, death and far beyond — explaining all of the "Secrets of
the Universe" that everyone is looking for. It is some of the most
relevant, fascinating and spiritually uplifting information ever
released on Earth.

No. And I thank you from the bottom of my heart
for bringing it to my attention.

http://topics.nytimes.com/top/reference/timestopics/people/c/robert_crumb/index.html

or

http://tinyurl.com/6hjwaa

I really love Robert. He is one of the most sincere,
straightforward, honest people it has ever been my
good fortune to meet. You just want to hug him,
but you don't, because you know it would make him
uncomfortable.

What those who have never really dived into his more
esoteric (read "limited edition" and "expensive")
work may not realize is the God's-honest-truthness
of the lines from the article, "...art critic Robert
Hughes once called Mr. Crumb 'the Bruegel of the 20th
century.'"

He's that good. I'm into art. I've seen the line
drawings of Bruegel and all of the other Dutch
Masters. Robert's in their league.

Also from the article: "Mr. Crumb's work presents a
vision of American life as a phantasmagoric gallery
of grotesques that is as gripping as it is harshly
funny."

Hey, I lived for a time as Robert's next-door neighbor.
Life often IS a a phantasmagoric gallery of grotesques
in Sauve. But it's also To Die For Funny, and I loved
that Robert, given all he's been through, could laugh
at it as much as he does.

One of the first things that endeared me to R.Crumb,
the first time I met him in Paris, is that he laughed
at my jokes.

Really.

I mean, he *really* laughed.

Get a couple of glasses of wine in me, and I tell jokes.
It's just who I am, and what I do. And I *understand*
that some of my friends put up with my jokes only because
they really, really love me.

But, weirdo that I am, I really *get into* the telling
of a good joke. I look at a joke as an artform, something
that one practices but never masters. So I don't just
tell jokes over and over, I *tune* them, and try to make
them more *effective* jokes.

This inner artistic quest has so far met with far too
much stony non-laughter. Maybe it's my choice of jokes.

But Robert really *liked* my jokes. And when he did --
and it would always take him a few seconds before he
did, and realized that he did -- he would burst into
the most Buddhalike laughter I have ever heard.

It was like someone who carried the weight of the
world around on his shoulders for a living suddenly
having a moment that made him laugh.

Contributing to that laughter, whenever I could, were
the high points of my time in Sauve.

I never saw the show, but the fact that it failed to capture the
attention of the masses does not mean it was no good. One of the
funniest shows ever done, Get a life (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Get_a_Life_(TV_series) ), was cancelled
in favor of the usual sitcom drivel that droolers go for. In any
event, more to the point, Kyle Smith's review of Lynch's work does
make some valid points and is coherent, although certainly harsh.

At least TM fans can be glad that shock jock Howard Stern does
everybody a favor and does not talk much about TM, since the weird
and tasteless endorsing TM is probably not all that useful for the
movement. I guess Lynch's fan base will care about his favorable
attitude toward TM and others will just ignore him.

There's no "works better" with TM. you DEFINITELY need to get checked...

Disagree on that. I have heard teachers from all around the world
pronounce Maharishis mantras, differently, with their own dialect.
Yet they work.

Well, uh, some 25 years ago... And my mantra definately seems
to work better if I pronounce the last "letter" rather clearly,
as it was emphasized during my initiation by Mr J. H.
He said something like "the last sound resembles ",
after he noticed, I believe, that I repeated that part of my mantra
to him somewhat "sloppily".
So, there seems to be some problems with the mantras when the
sounds in them don't appear in a language at all, or in a particular
phonotactic position, for instance at the end of a word.
An example, sort of, might be the Japanese and Chinese. In my
understanding they have a hard time making any difference between the
sounds 'r' and 'l'.
Another example could be the German word for 'I' (ich), which
for instance native speakers of English tend to pronounce
like 'ik'hmmm

Yes, I am going through some anger issues; It was just a knee jerk
response; my ex-wife is Italian, so some of it stems from this;
My divorce was nasty, and the aftermath, is still nasty.
And I remember back when the whole TM is a religion thing, went
through the courts and set the movements teaching in school back to
zero. So, what you have since then is violence and chaos in the
schools and everyone can see, how TM would have helped; but then
again, you have a country run by assholes...
Which hopefully will be changing soon;
When Bush and his sleezy whole crew can be tried as war criminals...

Since it's in the form of a club, they don't even need to show research. They
just have to
convince the parents to let their kids do it,and find the teachers willing to

And, of course, they can if this goes through. NOw, which group are you going to
learn
meditation from, the one that is free, and normally costs $2500 except for the
donation
from a rich guy, or the one that is free, and normally costs $50?

I've seen Gimby lash out like this. I've even seen him use the f-word
without the asterisks. I don't think it takes much to get him to this
point.

They can. If they provide a lot of research on its effectiveness. And
they offer it for free or find a scholarship sponsor.

Marin county is also a hotbed of a lot of different Indiaphile groups
who will probably respond "why can't we teach our meditation there too?"

Yes but no-one of serious mind would listen to you without
documented and published statistics. No-one listens to anecdotal
evidence. If 10 people say they were damaged and 1,000 claim no
damage but only benefits, then you have a statistically
insignificant group -- not considered typical. You can't just go
around saying people are seriously damaged by being Christians (even
though they are) just because a few people want to claim it. Well,
you can go around claiming it but no-one will listen Fact of life.

Rick, what is this thread about? Obviously Robert is
pretty p.o'd about something.

It’s about Gina Catena’s letter to local school officials, raising concerns about the introduction of TM in their high school.

Tks Offworld,

Sorry, but my claims are substantianted. Many folks that I know and love
personally were
seriously damaged.
Just offering a full disclosure of possibilites.. no different than the warning
label on my
dinner vino. To remain silent (in my own neighborhood) about what I know and
lived,
would be the ultimate disservice.

I appreciate your opinion as well, and would not ridicule you, either on this
world nor off.

I'm guessing this file was created on a Mac (no file extension).

[FairfieldLife] Re: New file uploaded to FairfieldLife

2006-10-12 Thread new . morning
Be sure to send copies to Maharishi, the Rajas, Bevan and John, as I
am sure they will thrill to the exuberance of having these 27 states
of consciousness unfolded is such exquistie detail -- proof that the
Invincible America program is bringing Heaven on Eath, where each
student becomes as if a vedic seer, unfolding the most deep and
precious knowledge of life, liberty and 24/7 Bliss for themselves and
all mankind, while making each nation invincible, and holy, worthy for
the angels and gods (but we are not a religion) walk on earth. i
forsee Maharishi proclaiming this Roryeshvara Day, to be celebrated
for all eternity, as the Day Heaven on Earth becaome a reality, and a
celebration of Supreme knowledge unfolding fom students demonstrating
perfect synchrony with each particle of the human nervous system --
including for the first time, the genitals, and totally vibrant and in
accord of MMY's own yet to be revealed exposition of these most
profound states of estatic human and devic bliss -- with Mahrishi's
only disappointment being that Rory did not share this knowledge with
the entire Dome, and to Him, personally, on the mic at the Dome so the
Guru and the Student and students could thrill to each precious wave
of knowledge together, thrilling each particle and all the Bramhans --
whole and partial -- through out the universe.

We already see how he feels about the Tradition. He's off to the side in the
painting he
commissioned, as I said. I find it difficult to believe that he would spend so
much time (I
heard months) working with the artist to convey a certain message, and then
change his
mind. That's not to say that someone might not decide that they know what he
"really"
meant, but it seems more than obvious that he doesn't consider himself to be
next in line.

Maybe the argument will go something like, “He didn’t want his name in the puja while he was alive, because he was deferential to Guru Dev, but now that he has passed, it is entirely appropriate.” After all, Hagelin and others have already been praising him as “The greatest saint ever  to walk the earth.”

How long do you think it will take after Maharishi

At Estes Park, someone asked Jerry about adding MMY’s name to the puja and he said, “No yet.”

Re: [FairfieldLife] Re: New file uploaded to FairfieldLife

2006-06-17 Thread Kirk

One should not listen to me as
if I know anything for sure. Only your heart will tell you. I am not sure
of anything. Maharishi is an enigma to me. I hope what he says is truth. I have
yet to really see it. But that doesn't mean that what he says is
impossible.  I hope his visions pan out and save humanity from the threat
of extermination of war and treasonous and poisonous actions. If he has headed
off humanities destruction then by any means that is acceptable. he is the
'great Seer' so he says, So be it!

I had good experiences in the
Movement. Though some not so good experiences, such as not learning how to
manifest my personal potential. And being attached to my short life, that simply
wasn't enough for me. To worship Brahmins exclusively. To serve with blind
faith. It wasn't my nature.

Do what thou wilt. Love under will.
Kudos to Crowley for that one. My will was elsewhere, with the Vajrayana. I have
had nothing but support from my Tibetan teachers. And their sanghas.

I had no support from the Movement
insofar as the longevity of my life and personal practice. TM alone was not
enough for me.

So for me Maharishi is not the
answer. But maybe for others, he is. It's wrong for me to say what is right and
wrong for all people. I sort of feel that's the case for others too. And so my
reticence to simply believe the words of a Guru, when it comes to all others.

Maheshvara is the face of Shiva that
obscures the truth.
Mahesh may be a great protector of
life, to me, but he is not the final say on matters spiritual. To me.

May it benefit!

Interesting points. However, everyone of us was introduced to the Holy
Tradition by Maharishi. Trying to ignore that step, and fool him/herself to
think that they are now dealing directly with for example Guru Dev, which I
know several people claim to do and is exactly what Maharishi predicted i
1983, then they are just performing some very human, though disapointing
activity; making mistakes.

Interesting points. However, everyone of us was introduced to the Holy
Tradition by Maharishi. Trying to ignore that step, and fool him/herself to
think that they are now dealing directly with for example Guru Dev, which I
know several people claim to do and is exactly what Maharishi predicted i
1983, then they are just performing some very human, though disapointing
activity; making mistakes.Well, actually, I credit my kundalini activating TM mantra to
my TM teacher who was powerful and spiritually mature. Though he was never known
by anyone as anything special, and I refuse to give his name to protect his
privacy, nonetheless, he used to speak to me at length about his experiences,
since I was so into the occult at the time, when I was fourteen. And it was
clear that the shakti was directly from him.

The fact that many learn TM and do
not experience anything of benefit from it proves that the teacher is directly
important. All this Holy Tradition stuff during puja is another way of the
teacher to transcend boundaries and create causes and conditions for their
student to also transcend. Sure TM came from Maharishi. But that was it. The
rest was just the lunatic ravings of a spiritual Hitler, ostensibly a
personality no different from President Bush, except for his spiritual emphasis.

I never felt a connection to
Maharishi, and when I saw him during Taste of Utopia, it left no impression
upon me. So sorry. I mean, I appreciate TM and still practice it, but it's not
the only positive spiritual practice on Earth, and the lack of alternate
spiritual experiences of people sitting at his feet for 40 years emphatically
does not make them experts on who is a Satguru or not.

Ssatgurus will decrease mental
disturbances and conceptuality, not increase them. Satgurus will enhance
personal peacefulness, not thrust one into life/death situations. And again, the
concept of recertifying people who were devoted is not known and has never been
known on this Earth.

One does not demand repentance from
those who ae ones constituents, of already profoundly good people, and chastise
them as if they are mere cattle.  This is not the action of someone of
realization.

I know, how can I know these things?
Me, merely a common person of no sidhis and less realization? I know them
because I don't cocme here to say these things. They just keep coming up from me
over and over spontaneously, and I learn about them as I write. I have no
personal stake in the Movement any longer, and feel no real need to even discuss
it, and yet, here I am discussing it, feeling the need to say these things. And
over and over I say them.

My opinions about Maharishi's
acomplishments change, up and down, up and down. That's how I know that
Maharishi acts merely within samsara. He is not taking people beyond it.
One can transcend a million times, but if the path to liberation is not made
clear then nobody will ever reach it.

Maharishi has not liberated one
person. Nobody in TM has even a sense of jnana. Round and round they go, where
are they headed? Nobody knows!  Strip malls, tallest buildings, pundit
nations, tv repair shops, sales, sales, sales This is not the path to
liberation.

When Maharishi gives direct pointing
out of ones nature so that there is no longer the slightest doubt, then I'll
credit him with beneficience and not harmfulness. Until then. Hail Raam, oh
Brother, can you spare a Mudra?

Actually, I am always sort of
baffled by Maharishi. He's really 'out there' and my perpetual uncertainty about
him and confusion about his motives is why I return again and again to distrust
of him, in spite of TM.

So I simply cannot credit him
wholeheartedly with all the mystical stuff that others do. I must look at him as
a merely ordinary person who like an ordinary person, is confused, and caught in
the round and round of samsara, as ascribe his shakti to another source, either
the purported Holy Tradition, or else to Sri Devi Herself.

Because the world has not changed
for the better. To think it has is to be blinkered like a mule. I don't think
TMers have not helped however, but the correspondences of the TM research are
specious, and merely pseudoscience. The premise that SCI is some science is
preposterous. And all this says to me that the element of conceptuality of rank
dualism is the reality of the TM mindset, not advaita.  And therefore the
lineage holder - Maharishi - is a rank dualist.

Just because of all the confusion of
those who serve him. If the master is unclear then he is not a master at all.
Nevermind what sorts of illusions of grandeur have developed around him. That's
all just a more spacious or glorious cage. All these TM followers and not one
with nondual jnana.  each one moving from hut to castle yes maybe, but
still in just a bugger cage. No freedom from craving and no liberation from ones
basic tendencies - vrittis.  B

people's altars. Moreover, since his teachings are directly derived

The official focus of the TMO, according to Denise, is on instituional

He's standing, not sitting. He's in white, not saffron. He's on the other side
of Gurudev
from the river, and since he and Gurudev are in the foreground, of course
they're both
larger than someone in the distance.
Perspective and all that...

He's also holding the offering of leis for Gurudev --no-one else is presenting
an offering
and Gurudev's head is higher than MMY's even though MMY is standing and Gurudev
is
sitting.

Typical rhetoric by Bevan or maybe John, but both know how insistent MMY is
that the
puja remain exactly as is.

TM teachers who go off on their own, lacking the resources of the

I’m pretty sure that more people are being taught TM these days by independent teachers than by official ones.

It is interesting and has been mentioned numerous times before (actually I think it was Bob Brigante who first pointed it out some time ago).

Of course there are also the reports of people at the recertification course who paid all that money and got reamed out by M. for hours via satellite, so he can't be too happy with what was happening. I'm not clear however on just what it was he was so upset about.

I don't understand sparaig's description of the new holy tradition
picture -- MMY is the same size as Guru Dev, both are larger than all
the others, and MMY is standing right next to the river, just like all
the others, right at guru dev's feet. It is clearly a visual
depiction of MMY being next in line in the tradition. The only
distinctive feature is that MMY is standing, not sitting, which to me
goes to his still being alive.

Last year when MMY inaugerated sat yuga, either bevan or hagelin
described MMY as the "greatest sage to have ever lived on earth",
which seems to me to back up T's point.

I'm not really part of or terribly interested in
thisconversation, but a funny thought just struck me.How long do you
think it will take after Maharishidies for the True Believers to add his
name to the puja?  I'd bet less than five
years.-Oh the
whole - born from a bird in the Swiss Alps of the Sun, from a mantra uttered by
Vishwamitra - more human than human thin will no doubt occur.  Should TMO
last out another 20 years people will do TM to prepare for war against the
infidel. MMY has culled the nonfanatical people from his cult, so only the rank
dualists are left. May MMY never teach Vedic war
techniques.

You may be correct. However, recall that at least currently, ONLY recerted
teachers are
allowed to teach under the TM label. The recerts are the ones most likely to
toe the party
line in all respects. Likewise with the Rajas who are supposed to be running
the show.

Case in point: one of the "bullet points" on my "job
description" as State Coordinator was going around to
different TM centers and trying to convince the TM
teachers who had placed a photo of Maharishi on their
pujz tables during the initiation process that it
probably wasn't a good idea. We'd tell them what we
had been told to tell them and then leave town, and
hear through the grapevine that the day after we left
town the photos of Maharishi would be right back on
the puja tables.

Fanatics are always convinced that *their* fanaticism
is the "right" fanaticism. It doesn't even matter if
the person they are fanatical about sits them down
and yells in their faces about their behavior and
how inappropriate it is, they will cling to their view
of what is correct and say things like, "Maharishi
is only yelling at me in public because he has to
set an example for all the other teachers, the
'lesser' teachers who are not as clued in as I am.
If we were to talk about this subject in private,
he'd tell me that I was correct all along."

I've seen this so many times, both in the TMO and
in other spiritual trips. It's just part of the
spiritual process as far as I can tell. The power
of self importance is as awesome of the power of
denial.

That's a sweet thought. Care to put money on it? :-)

> face time (even via closed circuit TV) with MMY, there will be

I think there will be even *more* of a tendency to
deify him, for that very reason. Those who have
worked face-to-face with a teacher tend to be a
little more resistant to the deification process;
those who have always been kept at a distance tend
to "extend" that distance even further by deifying
the distant teacher.

I'm just talking historical trends here. Some would
like to believe that the TMO will be immune to these
trends. I'm not one of them; I've seen the movement
fall prey to too many of them while Maharishi is
still alive, much less after he's gone.

Adding his name to the puja would be an extreme
step, but mark my words you'll see a "movement
within the movement" to do so, even if it doesn't
succeed. And the result will be bitter infighting
between one group of people who are convinced that
they are doing "what Maharishi really wanted" and
another group that is equally convinced that they
are doing "what Maharishi really wanted."
