I'm gonna try this again, since last night's message didn't come through.

We saw the fireworks last night, and they were, I may say, exceedingly
mediocre.

I am guessing that what makes them special would be the backdrop of the Statue
of Liberty, but from our vantage point inside the city, they were pretty
average.

And yes, there was a heavy police presence during that time, as I guess there
was talk of some event, but overall, the police presence was pretty average.

The highlight of yesterday's activities was the Observation Deck at the World
Trade Center.

This was more than your get off the elevator at the 105 th floor, and look
around.

Someone designed a pretty remarkable experience from the time you board the
elevator, until the time you exit.

The one time I was at the Cloisters, my camera died. I was photographing a
wooden statue of Jesus, and the camera's life came to an end, unrepairable.
What can you expect from a Jesus dummy. As the ticket also included the Met
museum as well, I went there next. I took an image of an Egyptian statue, some
tomb builder or something who lived several thousand years ago.

He was addressing the important issues.

It was his karma to get on these programs - in reality, nobody did
anything for him or to him - it was all due to his good or bad deeds
performed by him in the past. But, it was not any personality,
technique, organization or program that brought him his good or bad
fortune - he earned it.

If it had not been the Mahesh Yogi that got his attention, it would
probably have been some other program. The TM did not provide him the
ability to transcend, or not - TM is not caused by anything - THAT is
the uncaused cause.

Edg is telling it like it was and it is. I understand the feeling that TM
was/is good by some people's POV's, and to some degree or other that belief
requires some compartmentalization.

You have to deny, ignore or revamp many events, speeches, activities and
behaviors on the part of Marshy and the Movement to be able to still say This
is and was a good thing.

But doing so doesn't make it so. Whether in anger, disgust or any other emotion
that comes up, those of us who have left the Movement have grown up and left
the things of childhood behind.

Marshy was a liar, bottom line. He lied about so many things and I understand
that many feel the technique that he handed out was of benefit to them so they
will ignore the lies, but some of us can't. Even where there was benefit it
doesn't justify his and the Movement's behavior.

Worst of all, he lied about what TM could do for the world. There will be no TM
created world peace, no end of suffering for mankind via the Movement. That is
a flat out lie and a fantasy. He said it to make himself important in his
sycophants' eyes and to make money.

You like him and it, so be it. But Edg and all the rest of us who are free of
Movement crap and its lying leader are much richer, much better off than we
were when we were TM junkies. Addiction to anything including TM is still
addiction.

When you stop repeating yourself for TM, I stop repeating myself agin it. Like
most TM apologists, you fail to see how that which you criticize the most is
exactly what you practice yourself.

You know Michael, you say this so often, I have to believe that maybe you are
trying to convince yourself of it.

Why would someone spend so much time and effort expressing this same sentiment
if they really believed it?

Wouldn't it be enough to say it a few times, and then move on.

Perhaps you can answer that for me.

So, what if we were only fourth graders who had only a little more knowledge

Michael, you blind spots never cease to amaze.

Look at your weekly post count average. Now figure that 9-1/2 out 10 of every
one of your posts is a negative tirade against TM. You post probably 2 to 1 to
my posts. Maybe 3 to 1.

So, the numbers tell the tale of who is consistently stuck in repeat mode.

And, really, I hate to point this, because it's quite embarrassing, but you
spend hours a day in this endeavor.

My favourite Houdini trick

Harry Houdini was the fourth of seven children born to Rabbi Mayer
Samuel Weisz and the former Cecelia Steiner. According to what I've
read, there is considerable debate over the question of whether Harry
Houdini ever lived in the Laurel Canyon home known locally as the
Houdini Mansion. However, Brad Meltzer Decoded in a recent segment
unreservedly identified it as the former Houdini estate.

was one time when he visited some one-horse town in the States to
demonstrate his jail-breaking skill. The local sheriff locked him in the
jail and everyone then waited outside the building for the great
magician to emerge. All the townsfolk were there to witness the great
event.
Inside Harry was doing his usual trickery. He had a lock pick hidden
on his person (best not to ask where). Now the locks were placed too
far away for a man's arm and hand to reach so should have been secure.
But Houdini had developed his dexterity to such a degree that he could
use his legs and feet to manipulate the pick. In this case however,
despite his best endeavours spending hours trying to work the
mechanism, he completely failed. He was about to give up and call in
the witnesses when he leant against the cell door and it swung open.
He then realised that the sheriff had been so overawed by having a
mega celebrity in town that he'd completely forgotten to lock the door.

Houdini emerged to an ecstatic crowd who cheered and clapped an
astonishing feat. But there had been no trick at all in reality; it
was all illusion. Fantastic!
