Single cart for sale

2011-08-25 Thread Jill E. Fishinger C.P.A. PC

This message is from: "Jill E. Fishinger C.P.A. PC"

Hello All,

I have a single cart for sale.

It is listed on Craigs List / Denver Co. / for sale / search horse cart -
link below

It is an O. M. Spring single horse cart.
It was imported from Europe.
The cart has 25 1/2" hard rubber tires on steel wheels.
The shafts are adjustable for height, width and length, they are 32 1/2"
between nonadjustable section of shafts.

It has hydraulic brakes.
The box has a winding axle adjustable balance system.
There is a rear step for navigator, it is a possible marathon vehicle.
There is a small patch on the seat cover.
It is similar to a Bennington Buccaneer Competitor cart.
I am asking $2,200 though that is negotiable.

We are looking for more suspension for the conditions we regularly drive.

If you are interested and have additional questions please e-mail
. If you can pass this on to other lists it would be
greatly appreciated.

Thank You,

Kurt and Jill Fishinger
Birdie and Bella, who both started blowing their summer coats on the Summer
solstice even at 10,500' on the Colorado Continental divide.

Training Cart for Sale-Can be viewed at Driving Clinic.

2010-05-12 Thread Ursula & Brian Jensen
This message is from: "Ursula & Brian Jensen"

I have decided to sell a Sunwood Fjord Training Cart manufactured by Ron
Dayton. It is a special order cart with hydraulic brakes and made for
Fjords.. It is most suitable for Training, conditioning, and easily
converted to a forecart. I have not used it as much as I had planned so have
decided to find it a new home. The metal cart is almost new and has not been
damaged or in an accident. I am asking 1200.00

Ursula and I will be bringing the cart to Warren and Sylvia Riddles on
the weekend of their local Driving Club's Clinic. It is my understanding the
Clinic is now booked full, but there are still some auditing vacancies. The
cart will be available there for viewing on May 28, 29, and
30th--Brian Jensen

small pony 2wheel show cart for sale to pay for ponys dr. bills

2009-03-07 Thread Debby
This message is from: "Debby"

I've posted this cart to the list before, I'd paid 3000. for this show cart,
its meant for a show ring, about a 42, 43 inch pony. I have pictures. I'd
tried to sell it for 2000., to get a cart for a miniature but I've given up on
doing that. My small pony, who I'd gotten the cart for, has had founder
issues for a long time now. This past November he was showing signs of
something going on in his backend...I thought it was in his foot. I hauled
him to the local vet, who claimed that the farrier was taking too much hoof
wall and the pony was walking on his soles. I have had problems finding a
good farrier in this area for ponies with issues. Anyway, showed the vet his
back leg, he felt of his stifle and said he though he was just "tired" from
his front feet and resting more on his backend. Well, around Christmas, his
backend was bad and I knew it wasn't in his feet, it had to have been his
stifle. Hauled him to a really good clinic 2hrs. away, and he had a tear and
lesions in his collaterel ligament and something to do with "medial"menisal
desmitis? I have his paperwork. This was the first week in January, he
stayed with them so their farrier could do his feet per xrays, I think the
farrier was a bit too aggressive, he was really sore on his front feet.
Anyway, he's bee on and off since then, hauled him back there about 4 weeks
ago, they felt his back leg looked much better, but I told them he's been on
and off, just happened to be his good day : ) Anyway, I think adrenalin kicks
in and they don't show it so much when they are in strange places, he's that
way. But he's had a bad bought this week, started Monday, had to increase his
bute to 1 gram twice a day. We're hauling him to a clinic Friday the 13th,
yikes, that is a bit closer, but I'd used the vet several years ago and he did
a great job with one of my fjords...and I want a second opinion before I give
up on the guy. He is IR, he doesn't sweat in the summers, he's a metabolic
mess. ANYWAY, I have to sell his cart for medical bills for this guy. I'd
take 1500. for it if someone wanted it for arena shows, which I KNOW we've
been talking them down here lately. Anyone that wants to know more about it
can ask Tammy at Central Harness in Austin, Tx, I have her email
address...she'd had it on consignment for me, but through the winter, things
are slow to move and the economy being what it is. I'll be at the old
Brookshires parking lot with it tomorrow, Sunday, after lunch, in Canton,
Texas, if anyone is close, depending on the weather obviously. The shafts are
66inches, like I said its for a 42inch shetland type..its black, gold
pinstriping, I have pictures...
thanks...Debby in Tx

Wagon and cart for sale

2007-09-10 Thread Mark McGinley
This message is from: Mark McGinley <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

I have a Canadian wagon for sale.  It is a recent  build (less than 20
years old I believe).  Made by Voitures - Robert and sons in Quebec.
Nice wagon in good shape (see pictures at www.mariposafarm.com). It's a
5th wheel (cut-under). I have both a shaft setup and a pole setup for
this wagon (eveners too).  Good rubber on wheels and all in very good
working order.  It's possible I could deliver within a few hundred miles
for $1 a mile.  Wagon is located in northern Wisconsin. Asking $1500 or
B.O.

I also have a Cortland Wagon Company cart from 1906 for sale.  (See
Picture at www.mariposafarm.com).  The paint is rubbed off in a few
places but the wood (and metal) is in excellent condition.  This cart
fits our Fjords (14-2 to 14-3 hh) very well and I used it mostly for
arena work.  I also used it at the Minnesota Horse Expo a few years in a
row.  Very fun and easy to drive - easy step into from the back (has foot
steps that can't bee seen in picture).  Metal on wood wheels and smooth
ride.  Asking $700 or B.O. - can deliver for $1 a mile in a radius of a
few hundred miles from northern Wisconsin.  Daughter does not come with
cart.

Pictures will be posted tonight. (9/10/07)

This message is from Linda Syverson-Kerr @ [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hello list.

Hope this email finds everyone in fine health and in the Holiday mood.

I have for sale, 2 wheeled Road Cart for showing. I had this made 3 yrs ago
for my Fjord. Made of Oak, color is Natural Wood, has plenty of "flash" with
the Brass rein rail, hubs & shaves tips. Topped off with Black Patent Leather
wrapped shaves and dash board. It has a black leather seat, that lifts out for
storage underneath. Pretty enough to show in and practical enough to take for a
drive down the road.
One enters the cart from either side in front, as there are foot pegs. The
seat will sit comfortably, 2 full size adults. The shaves are 74" long, wheel
size is 46". The total length is approximately 11 1/2 ft long. Will fit a 14 HH
- 15 HH animal, as mine stands at 14.2.
When the cart is attached to a Fjord, it makes an impressive statement and
for those looking to have a "eye catching" Turnout, this does it. I have used
this cart and my Fjord at Columbus Carriage Classic, the Carriage show in
Prairie Du Chien, WI. We have won TURN OUT class at both of these shows in
2003, as
well as placing highly in other classes. For those of you that have attended
the Blue Earth show, we have won the TURN OUT class there for the last 2 yrs.
If you are interested, please contact me via email as I could email pictures,
or via the telephone at (W) 608-789-4616, this is a direct line, so please
leave a voice mail, or my home 608-526-6878. I am asking $2000.00.

> property??

Most of the foals we raised were 'single foals' - at
least 6 of them, maybe more. The biggest issue with
raising an 'only' is not really a 'horse issue' but a
'people issue'. As with human 'only children', an
'only' foal is much more easily spoiled by too much
human attention! Remember - he/she is a HORSE and
needs time to learn to BE a horse. Let the mother and
foal bond well. Something that CAN happen(no
guarantee it will, but be aware) is that we humans
become too fascinated with the foal - especially a
Fjord foal, which is friendly compared to the
skittishness of most other breed foals - so we spend
literally hours playing/interacting with it. Result:
A foal that doesn't really know it's a horse - thinks
its a human - and treats its humans as it would treat
other horses. NOT GOOD! Horses really do "play
rough". The foal doesn't develop into a 'normal'
horse with the usual 'my space, your space' approach
to humans. He/she just thinks that humans are funny
looking horses, so you then have to deal with the
'respect my space' issue much more severely.

So, how to avoid this easy 'pitfall'? After the
initial 'imprinting' has been done, try to interfere
as little as possible between the mare and foal - at
least for the first few days. Let the foal begin to
discover that he/she is a horse and let the two of
them bond really well. Encourage ONLY those habits in
the foal that you would want to see him/her have when
grown up and weighing over 1000 pounds(that's at least
half a TON, remember). Some habits may be cute in an
irresistible foal, but consider whether or not you
want a fullgrown horse doing the same thing. Do NOT
allow any kind of nipping, head butting or rubbing,
turning of the rear towards you in 'pretend'
threat(all too soon it can become a REAL threat).
Demand a 'sweet attitude' - no spoiled brat laying
back of the ears and buttoning up of the lip when he
or she doesn't get his/her way. Remember to teach
proper manners and the two of you will have a great
time, not only while the foal is growing up, but later
when he or she is a full grown horse. Let me also say
that I have found - at least with our Fjords - that
fillies were 'easier' than colts. Fillies seemed to
have that naturally 'sweet' attitude right away, while
the colts seemed always to be 'pushing the limits' -
they were more prone to developing nasty little habits
like nipping at you when you weren't looking and
trying to 'slap box' or 'spar' with you with their
heads like you see many geldings doing with each
other. And then there was the gelding(which we bought
at 4 months old) who thought people were to push
around - with his butt, with his shoulder, AND with
his chest. He would come up to you face on, raise his
head, and try to push you out of the way with his
chest. As if he were thinking, "I'm taller than you,
get out of my way". NOT!! It took a lot of time and
effort to 'unteach' this behaviour, which could have
easily been stopped when he was a baby. Don't know
how it developed, but it did and it was a PAIN. He
dropped the whole 'posturing' thing at around 4 when
he finally figured out it was getting him nowhere. He
turned out to be a very even tempered, willing horse -
but extremely smart. You need to think ahead of him
and keep him busy. If he is bored he gets into
mischief.

Good luck with your mare and 'only child'.

You are correct, Jean, - I do have a fjord gelding. Guess I have plenty of
choices for a babysitter:):):) Baby might like Sven better as he is so easy
going and will tolerate more "play".

This fjord baby sure has people in my life excited. Our vet has worked with
fjords but has not seen a fjord baby - he assured me he would not be out of
town when Lena is due:)

Hi Linda,

Didn't you have a Fjord gelding also (Sven?)? Or was that someone else in
Minnesota?

Thanks, Jean, for the advice. Yes, I do have an older gelding
(quarterhorse). I had thought of putting baby with him. QH is quiet and
well mannered - but will not tolerate baby bugging him night and day.

I also have goats - and will have many babies - but, am concerned they are
too small to interact with fjord baby w/o risk of injury.

Does your gelding get along with your mare? When my big gelding Bjorken
was born I just had him and his mom and Bjarne, an older gelding. I kept
Stella and the baby in their own paddock with access to the stall and
Bjarne had an adjoining paddock. Little Bjorken would go stand next to the
fence where Bjarne was standing and seemed to idolize him. (Maybe a boy
thing). I didn't really let them be all together all the time until he was
weaned (at more than a year old) but now, knowing what I do, I would have
put them together much earlier. Bjarne taught Bjorken manners and played
with him a lot. Stella also played with him, but boys play harder! Bjarne
was the boss (still is at 27) and I think Bjorken turned out well partly
because of Bjarne's help. Older gelding are often very good baby sitters.

My friends, the Brunners, who usually only have on foal at a time, have had
a quarterhorse gelding as baby sitter until he went to a new owner, and now
have an old pony gelding as babysitter and playmate. Nickers, the old
pony, gets tired of the foal's roughhousing and teaches him manners also.
They also let all the horses, except the stallion, run together in a big
corral, separating them somewhat at feeding time, and at night, when The
mare and foal and Nickers get the corral with the stall which they share.

You may have to separate them at feeding time, but this has worked out well
for us. It all depends if the mare and gelding get along.

Didn't remember if it was OK or not to post for sale items. Quickly
(see if I can slip it in), a Smuckers leather harness, very nice shape,
came with a 13.2hand Fjord mare and a synthetic harness, in really good
shape for the same Fjord. These have hardly been used at all. Also
came with a very nice Oak Meadowbrook cart, I believe to be balanced
well, with spares box. Been stored in garage, hardly used. I'm located
in midMissouri. For sale or I'd consider mini and/or pony carts and
harnesses of equal value in exchange. Thanks. Debby
