Hi Yvonne,
You might be thinking or looking for our website ... don't know about the

they come in and taking them back down shortly thereafter. If you have a Fjord

Horses for Sale

This message is from: "dfle"

As we are becoming some of those "oldies", we must cut back on number of
horses. To move these horses, we have reduced their prices. Most are
young fillies/mares -- two and one years old. All are halter broken and
ready to go to good homes. Reasonably priced or make me an offer.
Discount on multiple sales. Serious inquiries only. These are great
bloodlines and many of my horses are in theraputic riding clinics, etc.
Call 660-841-9502 later evenings or e-mail me at d...@c-magic.com We are
located in mid-Missouri half way between Kansas City and St. Louis.

Alice- My vet was out the other day, and he mentioned that his father
(who is elderly) was having to sell his horses, and, if I knew of any one who
might be interested, to let him know. Since I know so few driving folks, I
thought I would start by telling you about them. I have NOT SEEN them, nor do
I know how much they have been ridden and driven.

Fjord mare- 13 years old rides and drives. $1500.

Haflinger mare- 15 years old, rides and drives. $1,000.

Racking Horse, Gelding, Black and White paint, 12 years old, rides and
drives. $1200.

Haflinger mare- 7 years old, rides and drives.$1,000.

All of the prices are VERY negotiable! Joyce

Some outstanding Fjord horses for sale

2010-05-31 Thread Starfire Farm
This message is from: Starfire Farm

Hello Everyone,

I'm hoping that the "quietness" of the list is because the weather has
turned better for everyone and you are all out there enjoying
riding/driving etc. your horses. For those who are "jonesing" for a
Fjord, we have several for sale, ready to go.

*Slomiet*: Imported from Holland. Slomiet is an outstanding mare, proven
top quality producer. Mother of Starfire Chiron (Sire BDF Obelisk. Owned
by Cynthia Madden; Starfire Elektra (Sire BDF Obelisk.Owned by Sue
Plein) and Starfire Giotto (Sire Thordal. Owned by Sarah Reidy). All
three are beautiful offspring. Easy to work with. Forward thinking
horses. Slomiet rides and drives, single or pairs. She has performed in
the National Western Stock Show Evening of Dancing horses and in Ballet
on Horseback. 13.3 hh. Lovely mover. She is so pretty, she would catch
the eye of any judge. All three offspring are beautuifu horses. At 13
years old, she is a great age for anyone looking for a great dressage
pony for their child or a smaller sized Amateur rider.

http://www.nfhr.com/ponyweb/ponyweb.cgi?horse=5065&OwnerName=starfire&SearchFor=1&Page=1&Sort=0

*EFH Heidi*: 19 year old mare. Proven producer, including a grey. Heidi
has those big, beautiful eyes that are so important to keep in our
breed. Mother of Bjorn IV (grey dun owned by Lorikck Stables); Starifre
Malin (Sire BDF Obelisk, owned by Allison Shride - Conformation score
81); Starfire Kjerstin (sired by BDF Obelisk owned by Vicki Johnston)
and Starfire Gustaf Emil (brown dun gelding by BDF Obelisk...will be
evaluated this year). All have beautiful heads with big, gorgeous eyes.
Heidi would be very well suited for trail riding, or someone interested
in doing walk/trot...but she can also canter. She has been our "go to"
horse when we have needed a substitute in our quadrille for the Evening
of Dancing Horses, so has LOTS of experience in charged atmospheres. She
has never been hitched. Would be an outstanding Therapeutic horse.
Reasonably priced.

http://www.nfhr.com/ponyweb/ponyweb.cgi?horse=962&HorseName=EFH%20Heidi&Page=1&Sort=0

*Starfire Gustaf Emil*: (BDF Obelisk x EFH Heidi) 3 year old gelding,
13.3 hh. Outstanding driving prospect. Just being started. This horse
has a big, powerful trot. Smart, willing, forward thinking and athletic.
Would make an outstanding CDE horse. This horses's trot will will make
the judges look twice. Great feet, good bone, big joints. Would also
make a great trail horse. His photo is up on our sales page as a
stallion prospect, but *he has been gelded.

Sellie*: 13 year old mare imported from Holland. Conformation score
81.25. This is a very playful, intelligent mare that also has big,
gorgeous eyes. She has produced one gorgeous mare, Starfire Beryl (sire
BDF Obelisk owned by pat Biernat). Because she had such a goregous mane,
I allowed it to grow out. It is full, long and stunning. You can see a
photo of her on our website, the Snow Ponies page. We pretty juch just
have fun with Sellie. Jump on her bareback and dink around. Still a good
producer, we simply had other mares we wanted to use. Reasonably priced
to the right home.

*Starfire Juno*: Born this year, out of Orinke x Felix. This filly is
stunning! Beautiful head. Very correct legs. Friendly, athletic. Her
mother, Orinke, is another of our "go to" horses when we need a reliable
horse in our quadrille. Orinke jumps, can do lower level dressage, has
been driven single, pairs, four in hand *and* ridden tandem. This filly
has potential galore! Because of her lineage, I want to keep her, but
could be convinced to let her go for the right price.

Any of the mature mares can be bred to one of our three stallions; *BDF
Obelisk, Thordal or Saethersblakken*.

We'll try to get our sales pages updated, but in the meantime, if you
want to see photos or video, just contact us.

Beth

Fjord horses for sale

2009-09-18 Thread Corinne Logan
This message is from: Corinne Logan

Well, as of last night, we sold our last Fjord (2 year old Steren) that we had
for sale from our website. For those of you who have or know of Fjord horses
for sale, please direct them to our website. We post the ads as well as photos
for free. There is nothing in this for us except to help buyers find a good
FJORD horse...it took us far too long to find our first and when we finally
did, thought to ourselves, gosh there must be a better way. Here you
go...http://www.willowsedgefarm.com/sales-listing.html

On the subject of selling, in talking with the vet who came out to do the
pre-purchase exam (not our vet), we talked a bit about the economy, horses and
prices. His response was that the market for good quality horses is as strong
as ever. I believe him completely - with the inquiries we get, we could have
sold a dozen this year.

Thanks,

Offering for sale - 3 weanlings, born Sept. 2008 - the first of Mogly's
offspring in North America. Two colts are outstanding quality - potential
studs , and the only filly is gorgeous. All three of his offspring are from
Felix daughters - and all are very correct with exceptionally nice movement.
Foal pictures of these with their dams can be seen on www.Mogly.ca

Also offering 3 geldings for sale. .For anyone serious in driving a team for
CDE's - these 2 full brothers ( Felix x Nagia) would make an awesome pair -
beautifully matched for stride, colour and conformation - ready to start
training. As well I have a 3-year old gelding ( Prydarson x Felix daughter ) ,
very attractive and great moving - will be suitable for pleasure riding and
driving - ready for training.

Updated Website and Horses for sale

2009-07-07 Thread Michele Noonan
This message is from: Michele Noonan

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer!

We have been busy with all things horses and kids! Those of you who got your
PNFPG Newsletter,, can see my Grandaughter Karlie King riding our mare Tone.

Websites are not my forte', however we did just update our website to include
the horses we have for sale and pictures. WWW. Montanafjords.com

We are downsizing the herd and only had one foal this year, and probably only
two next year.

So in order not to feed these yearlings another year, we are selling them at
unheard of prices.. I consider it a chance for someone to own a fjord that
wouldn't otherwise be able too

WHR Kris (Two Rivers Kare and WHR Elsker) Drafty and born Jan 2, so he is
huge. RED DUN
The sweetest, easiest of all of them. $1500, firm! Show Experience

WHR Stein (WH Stone and Norway View Gina) Tall leggy yearling gelding, $900

WHR Axsel (Freya II and Anvil's Morgen) Very athletic built, average size,
$900

WHR Bjorgen (Britta I and Anvil's Morgen dishiest face I have ever seen (AKA
Fabio) $900
Half brother to Axsel and they look a lot a like.. smallest of the yearlings.
Show Experience

So pass the word along... We would take terms if you have good references.

Trained Horses for sale

2007-03-01 Thread Norsk Wood Works
This message is from: "Norsk Wood Works" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

This message is from Phillip Odden

I am representing two well trained fjord horses that are for sale. The brown
dun gelding TLF Brex and the brown dun mare TLF Steina are currently being
driven as a pair on sleighs, carriages, and on light farm wagons. These horses
have very good ground manners and have had lots of experience driving together
including driving in road traffic. They stand calmly when hitched and respond
well to driving aids. They are light on the bit and can be driven with contact
or without contact, though it is much better to drive them with light contact.
These horses were sired by BDF Malcom Locke, a Gjest son. They are each four
years old and are of medium build with nice gaits. Each horse is healthy and
sound. To my knowledge they have not been ridden but I expect they will take
to trail riding quite easily. They have been in training with me since October
2006 and were trained professionally prior to that time. These registered
fjord horses are reasonably priced and will be sold together or individually.
The horses are located in Northwestern Wisconsin.

Horses for sale & Living in Town

2006-11-27 Thread dfle
This message is from: "dfle" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

Just don't let it go beyond two years. My little 2 year stint in town ended up
being five years. Finally in May of this year we moved out to our farm and I
no longer had to drive the two miles once or twice a day to care for the
critters. I love it and love having my Fjords right out the back door. They
are the best scenery you can have. At least I didn't have to board horses
since we owned our farm nearby.

Also, I still have a few nice Fjords for sale -- mostly yearlings and two year
olds and a few green broke three year olds. If you are looking for a good
Fjord give me a call. Located in mid-Missouri.

This message is from: "dfle" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

Due to the drought in Missouri, we are trying to move some horses. Although we
have hay, I think the hay prices are going to skyrocket before spring. If you
are needing a good Fjord, let me know. I have some young to older animals for
sale. Good prices on yearlings. Thanks for your interest. We have a team of
fillies we are exhibiting at a Trade Show this weekend that are for sale.
Broke to drive as a team -- very sharp.

Thanks for your interest. We are located in mid-Missouri.

Hello from Carol Rivoire at Beaver Dam Farm in Nova Scotia ---

We are totally thrilled to have such a high quality group of consignment
horses sent to us this spring. This year's consignment horses have been
sent to us by individual owners, as well as some high quality, well-known
breeders and trainers. --

As most of you know, each
year we tell owners that if they have a really good horse they must sell,
then consider sending him to Beaver Dam Farm. We tell owners that we're
only interested in representing high quality horses without problems ---
Because it's those kind of horses (the best horses) that will sell quickest
and provide the best return to the
owners. -- This year, every single horse we've received is a "BEST
ORSE". --
We are thrilled to be able to offer such a group for

sale under the BDF name. - -- Let me tell you a bit about each of them.

The horses gathered this summer at Beaver Dam Farm offer a unique shopping
opportunity to all those who've been looking for a mature, well trained
Fjordhorse. -- A horse that's ready to go. -- In all the years we've
been offering Fjordhorses for sale, we've NEVER had such a perfect group of

are sold based on these videos -- AND on our 27 year reputation . . . . We

At Beaver Dam Farm, all our horses get daily personal attention. Each one
is cared for, managed, and fed as an individual --- Our property is as safe

minds and calm temperaments. -- Happy, fit horses that actually enjoy
working for us.

FRF BARNICLE (Barni) -- Yearling stud colt sired by Gjest, out of a Dutch
imported Myrstein daughter. -- Excellent stallion prospect. He'll be tall

We are a not-for-profit therapeutic riding center in Kansas City that

We are actively looking to find a Fjord for sale or tax-donation.
The horse buying budget is small!! But do you have a horse that would
work well with our program?

This message is from: "Mighty Mouse" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

Hello everyone,

Just wanted to spread the word that we have three fjords for sale. We have
decided to get out of horses for awhile...we simply don't have enought time
or money to support them right now. I would like to get out of them what we
paid but am open to offers. All the horses are broke to drive but we never
drove them...we just did some light riding. After our last vet bill of five
hundred dollars to have all their teeth power floated (three weeks ago), I
came to the conclusion that we can not afford horses anymore...we are a one
income family of five as I stay home to raise our children. These horses
have not done much since we've had them so they will need some refreshing,
but that shouldn't require too much effort right...they're Fjords! Anyway,
here is what I have for sale:

Vestmark's Kari, 7yr old mare, 14.3 1000lbs. Very green, will need
training. current coggins, worming, power float and incisor correction,
trim...due for vaccinations in March. Very sweet. $3500.00

Ro Sandy's Sally, 19 yrs, 14.3950lbs. Very broke to drive and ride.
Current worming, trim and power float. Coggins and vaccinations due in
March. Nice aged mare. $4000.00

Skyview Lars, 13 yrs, 15.1 1300lbs. Very broke to drive team ONLY! He has
seperation issues so he needs to be in team to drive and have a buddy to
ride. He is such a big baby other then that...sad to see him go but he has
too. Current worming, trim , power float and incisor correction...due for
coggins and vaccinations in March. $3200.00

Email if you would like to see pics or call for more information. We don't
have anything for these guys to pull, so you won't be able to test drive
them...just wanted you to know that up front.

Thanks,

2005-12-17 Thread Beaver Dam Farm

This message is from: "Beaver Dam Farm" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

Hello from Carol Rivoire at Beaver Dam Farm in Nova Scotia ---

Arthur and I are heading back down to New England to be with my mother as
well as children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren over the holidays.
While down in MA, we'll be traveling around looking at horses with an eye
towards possibly buying or approving horses for consignment sale.

So, if you have a good Fjord that you have to sell, or one you'd like to
send to Beaver Dam Farm on consignment, and would like us to take a look,
please get in touch with the farm - 902-386-2304 -- [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Our trainers, Jaimie Benoit and Kelly MacDonald will both be living on the
farm while we're away, and will contact us immediately regarding your
horses.

Several top breeders have sent us horses in the last few years, and they've
been very happy with the results we've obtained for them. -- And, on the
other hand, our customers know that when they want a really good Fjord, the
place to come is Beaver Dam Farm. -- We have the quality horses, and we
have an awesome staff to train those horses to be pleasant, accomplished
riding and driving horses.

And last but not at all least . . . . -- Gjest is getting up there in age.
He still looks great and acts great and retains his marvelous libido.
However, this famous stallion is not going to last forever. So, if you want
one of the best quality foals anywhere, this may be the time to act. -- At
this point in time, we have mares booked from the northeast and from the
south, as well as a few of our own to breed. -- The stud fee is the same.
The quality remains outstanding. So, if you're going to breed your mare,
don't wait. This may be your last chance to breed to a legend.

Kind Regards, Carol Rivoire

This post is from Linda Syverson-Kerr @ [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hello Group.

I just got back from a 3 day tail ride in Dodge, WI. Actually the organized
ride is Saturday and Sunday, but we go out on our own on Friday.

I took my Geldings Spruce Hill Marks and Hans Oka. This was Hans first time
to the organized ride.
There were 480 riders and various types of breeds. A friend who has limited
experience rode Hans, who I just brought back from Patti Jo's from training. We
went up STEEP hills and down, thru mud, slippery fields, along the road where
people drove by @ mock speed. There were 2 corn pickers that came barreling
down the road, spreading a path thru the horses, some reacted out of fear, some
reacted because of the riders. Hans and Markus, looked up and had this look
of "no biggie" and kept walking. We had cows charge at us while we rode thru
the pastures.
When riding along side the road we played kick the can. We had horses ride up
on us, and brush past us and neither did a thing. Hans and Markus out walked
and trotted many horses there. We came across blowing tarps, bags, dogs
barking etc... Nothing seemed to un nerve the FJORDS.
A lot of people commented about how: sure footed they were, quite, well
behaved, how Hans moves out, some could not believe that Hans was doing such a
wonderful job for his first time out on such a ride, and of course, how cute
they
were.
Anyway, I need to unpack, I am still thrilled from the ride that just ended.
Next weekend. taking them to Red Granite to a friends to go riding.
IF you are looking for a wonderful trail horse, Hans is for sale. Contact
myself or Patti Jo.
I still have my Grey weanling for sale as well, that is ready to relocate. I
am the only one that rides, I cannot keep up with 4 horses. So if you are
looking, here are some good ones.

won some ribbons. Things are going really well on our farm. We had 3 foals
this summer...all healthy and well. However, 11 horses is a bit much for me
to handle all on my own. Trying to figure out who to sell is difficult you
get so attached to this wonderful loving breed. However I have decided on 3
mares and 1 possibly 2 foals. If anyone is interested email me or call for
more info. Thanks! Ronda~Folkema Family Fjords~Fremont, MI.

I have a team of two year old fillies. They are at an Amish trainer for the
next month and will be started in harness. They are lovely fillies and would
make a great team. They will also be started to train to drive individually so
would sell them individually.

I also have some yearling foals (two geldings) and one filly. All handled and
easy to work with. All are current on shots and the two fillies above have
already had their Coggins tests.

I need to move some of my young animals as my helper is undergoing serious
surgery next week. He has cancer so we don't know the outcome, but I'm running
thin on four to five hours of sleep working with all my young ones. All
serious offers will be considered. I also have trucking companies that haul at

I have some very nice two year old fillies (would make a matched team) and a
nice two year old gelding (started in a round pen). I need to move some horses
so any reasonable offer is being considered. I'm taking an older mare to the
trainer this weekend. When she comes back the fillies will go unless they are
sold. The price will be more when they come back. Both have been loaded in a
trailer and trimmmed and are current on shots.

Give me a call--I'm out late as my friend and caretaker is undergoing chemo and
has been in the hospital for two weeks. I'm doing chores on two farms after
work. Call later in the evening.

Last chance to get some really nice young foals reasonably priced. I have two
fillies and a gelding that will be two years old this summer. They will be
going to the trainer in March and the prices on them will increase. If you
want to train your own or want one trained, let me know. We have people who
bought last year who are coming back to buy so references are available.

Also two really nice soon to be geldings and one outstanding fillie that will
be a year this summer.

Photos and pedigrees available upon request.

We do have a trucker who will haul cross country for a fee.

I was around for it. If I remember right we followed Norways thinking on
it at that time. The no white on stallions in Norway is a fairly recent
change. The rule in Norway has to do with a license to breed also. We
don't as of yet license stallions or any fjords to breed.

Currently, white markings are not required to be reported in the
registration process of the NFHR.

Actually they are. The registration form asks for "Tatoo, Brands,
Microchip number or Other ID Markings"

One only has to send in a side photo of the horse, no frontal photo with
the forelock aside to indicate whether or not a white star exists.

This is true we do only require 1 side view photo.

I think it would also be beneficial to indicate on the horses'
registration papers, as well as on the pedigree site, as to whether white
markings exist, to help folks better research their intended breedings.

That is in fact indicated on both the Registration Certificate & on the
pedigree search if they are reported to me on the Registration application
or any other way for that mater. For instance take a look at the horse
recently mentioned by Sue - Scotia Suprise:

http://www.nfhr.com/ponyweb/ponyweb.cgi?horse=6155

Should horses not be registrable with the NFHR if they have white
markings? I don't think so. We have a DNA testing requirement to
determine whether the horse is pure fjord, and to indicate it's parentage.
That, to me, is sufficient.

I agree they should still be registerable as long as it is proven by DNA
that they are purebred Fjords. The stallions with white stars make really
nice geldings.

I feel the passion behind the debate and think it's good to have such
passion with respect to people interested in maintaining stewardship of the

organization, has a responsibility to new members. I don't disagree that,
if the standard as it stands now is incorrect and should be changed. I
don't believe my previous post stated that it was adequate as it was and I
do believe that I stated that the Evaluation Committee was addressing the
issue. If the NFHR decides it should be changed, then so be it. If not,
that is also fine.

I'm curious to know what is your definition of "the traditional fjord"

Hello Beth,

<>

To clarify this point immediately, I, nor would the co-owner of the Fjord
Issues list, Fred Pack, ever presume to speak for that list's membership. When
I
used the term "we", I was obviously (I thought) speaking about my farm.

I have no desire to get into a debate on this list about the validity of the
comments concerning the "type" of Fjord Horse since the 1800s. Suffice it to
say that I have yet to see actual proof of these type of statements nor have I
found any sort of historical documentation to support this theory.
Therefore, this is going to be one of those "agree to disagree" issues. From
my
research of the FHI's breed standard, there are enough differences that if we
adopted this standard, the traditional Fjord could be removed from the gene
pool.
Again, another "agree to disagree" issue.

However, what does concern me is the idea that newcomers to the breed cannot
use our breed standard in its entirety without doing additional research into
the breed outside of the NFHR. As things stand currently, the breed standard
is apparently written for a specific audience versus a general audience. We,
as NFHR members, cannot assume that every newcomer to the breed will go
further than the NFHR initially to educate themselves. And, technically, why
should
they? We ARE the leading Fjord horse registry in North America. As such, we
have a serious obligation to our Fjords and all members to have a clearly
defined breed standard people can utilize without surprises at an evaluation.
It
is our job to educate new members, be it through our own educational material
or through clear cut references to registries/associations the NFHR
recommends.

As the Fjord population grows in North America, we are going to see instances
of people getting involved in this breed that might not have a breeder they
can call on to ask questions. Nor is every newcomer going to feel comfortable
pulling out the breeder's list and calling a relative stranger to ask
questions. Therefore, they would look to the NFHR site and also, their
membership
packet for educational information. If they are interested in breeding, it is
highly likely they will use the breed standard to begin. If our breed standard
is incorrect, then it must be changed. It is our responsibility as NFHR
members to make sure we have a breed standard that IS written to a general
audience, that can be understood and fully utilized by both experienced and
non-experienced breeders. To expect newcomers to just "know" these things, or
to know
intuitively they need to look to other resources is just asking for problems,
futuristically.

This also applies to new buyers, for while they may not be interested in
breeding, they might very well be interested in showing. Our breed standard
should be our "sacred text" that clearly states undesirable traits which will
be
marked down for on an evaluation score. We owe this to the Fjord, ourselves as
NFHR members, and to any new buyer, potential breeder or not, interested in a
Fjord.

Hello Lynda,

If you are going to follow the written word to the letter, here is a
definition of "standard" from Webster's (the one in our office, at
least...sorry, had to look it up and didn't have it memorized either,
Ruthie..;-) the two that I thought would apply, mind you, as there are
several:

1a: constituting or conforming to a law or a standard esp. established as a
law or custom 4: substantially uniform and well established by usage in
speech and writing of the educated and widely recognized as acceptable.

You, yourself (in two seperate posts) have indicated that using stallions
with white stars, for breeding purposes, is not acceptable:

However, while I do agree a white star is not desirable and should not be
accepted on a stallion<<
>>We certainly do not believe stallions with stars should be used for
breeding,<<

I'm not sure who "we" are, perhaps you are speaking for the participants on
your Fj Issues list? Regardless, I believe it is widely acceptable (at
least in North America and Europe) that white stars on stallions (or any
white markings, for that matter) is not acceptable.

The very definition of standard includes an inference that it is not
necesssarily something that is set in stone and history has shown that
standards (and laws) can be, and have been, changed. Especially in such
subjective practices as breeding horses. Do the fjord stallions or mares
care whether or not each is carrying a white gene? Obviously not. Heck,
stallions that are trained to a phantom don't even care whether or not
they're actually breeding a horse, much less a fjord mare! It is us humans
who have decided that we don't care to see white markings in the beautiful
dun coloration of our chosen breed.

I do agree that the standard, as it is written, could be confusing for
someone intending to follow "the letter of the law" in looking for breeding
guidelines, and that this could pose a problem for the "novice" person just
getting into breeding fjord horses. However, I believe that there are
people who get into breeding who do a lot of research prior to "taking the
plunge", so to speak, and would learn about what is desireable and what is
not.

I was not around for the writing of the NFHR breed standard, so I do not
know whether the wording of the statement about white stars was purposeful
or an oversight. However, I do know that the majority of fjord horse
breeders and organizations (again, as I stated previously, in Europe as well
as North America) find that white markings on a stallion are unacceptable.
This has to do with the greater influence a single stallion can have on a
gene pool, as opposed to a single mare, since the stallion has the potential
to produce far more offspring. I happen to agree with the majority and
would indicate my knowledge of what is desired by the majority on the
evaluation score sheet as I mentioned previously.

Now, does this say that the stallion owner can't breed his horse? In North
America, no. It might, however, give that person a little more feedback as
to whether or not to consider his/her horse as a breeing animal.

Having said that, I do believe that the Evaluation Committe has been working
on this issue, as Phillip Odden (who is on the Evaluation Committee) has
indicated that he has done much research into the issue of white markings in
the fjord horse. If you would like to have a say on this subject, you
should voice your opinion to the Evaluation Committee, or to the Board of
Directors.

I also believe that responsible breeders, or people who are influential in
the fjord horse world, have a responsibility to help educate those who are
just getting into the breed. Unfortunately, it is not always the case, as
Sue Giargari so eloquently related in her story. There are people across
North America who don't care what the horses look like, they only care about
selling a product. There are also breeders who didn't do their research and
just got into the breed because they liked them, but are uneducated about
markings and good conformation. It's our responsibility to help educate
them as well.

Another factor in this is that, often, information is not shared that a
particular horse might be passing along white genes because it might affect
the marketing of their stallion or offspring. That is a frustrating reality
and is something people, in this country, can only self regulate. As Sue has
said, she wouldn't pair that particular stallion with that particular mare
again, and was on the lookout for bloodine pairings that might create the
same result.

Currently, white markings are not required to be reported in the
registration process of the NFHR. One only has to send in a side photo of

Hello Beth and Phillip,

The Fjord Issues list used to be the Fjord Rescue list. However, we opened
the list up and changed the focus to encompass those topics that some of us
which to discuss in depth; a few such examples would be NFHR bylaws, evaluation
policies, breed standard, etc. Of course, any topic is welcome as long as it
pertains to the Fjord.

The paragraph below is confusing. We certainly do not believe stallions with
stars should be used for breeding, however, the NFHR breed standard does not
specifically state that white stars are unacceptable in stallions. Therefore,
IF the NFHR evaluators are truly using the NFHR breed standard, technically
said Fjord should not be marked down at all for having a star, regardless if
the majority of us approve it or not.

<<<>>>

This is eventually going to be a problem for many new breeders might use the
NFHR standard to a T, go to an evaluation with their white starred stallion
(or some other difference, of which there are a few), and find their Fjord
marked down in these areas that are considered undesirable by the mother
country
and experienced breeders, but is NOT considered undesirable by the NFHR breed
standard.

I understand where you are coming from in regard to acknowledging the mother
country's wishes, and I also have studied the differences between our standard
and the FHI's. From my understanding and as it has been explained to me,
through the signing of the NFHR as being a member of the FHI, we are required
to
use the FHI's rule book for judging, which does include the FHI's breed
standard. SO, how do our evaluators stay in compliance with the agreement made
with
the FHI and still use the NFHR breed standard?

<>

Beth, the reason we are thinking this is because of what I stated above and
also, even your comment earlier about a stallion being marked down for a white
star. If we are truly using our breed standard, then technically, the animal
cannot be. We obviously need to change that part of our breed standard, no
doubt! However, it would very much concern me if we were using the FHI's breed
standard as an evaluation tool as there are differences, openly acknowledged,
which puts more emphasis on modern breeding practices versus traditional.

ACTUALLY... that's what we did... and came up with a perspective other than

so maybe we'd better not "go there" and name names =))

And perhaps asking someone "who is involved" is the problem... far better to

It would be grand (and beneficial) if this kind of information was

? Fjord Issues list? I have not heard of this.

I quoted the FHI judge's handbook because Ruthie specifically mentioned
Norway. Quite frankly, I had the FHI handbook sitting beside the computer,
didn't have the NFHR's evaluation packet nearby, and didn't have time to go
looking for it. The white star was one topic of discussion between Phil
Odden, myself and the Norwegian evaluators this past May while we were in
Norway. What we were told is that the genetics do exist, but they find the
white star (as well as other white markings) undesirable, have a standard in
mind and would like to stick by it.

I believe that the reason the Norwegians don't license stallions with white
stars, while they accept mares with white stars, is because the stallion's
influence is so much greater than the mares by virtue of the fact that many
more offspring come from a single stallion than a single mare.

The NFHR evaluators do not currently use the FHI standards for evaluating
NFHR stock, they go by the NFHR standard. It is true that the NFHR breed
standard states that a white star is acceptable, regardless of sex. Yet,
NFHR evaluators are required to understand the goals and desires of the
breeding program of the "mother country" and to see what is accepted or not
in Norway. The measurement used for the white star (though it is not stated
in writing in the standard) is that of the size of a quarter. The markings
are taken into account in the "Overall" section of the score sheet. Since
the NFHR is not an organization that "licenses" horse for breeding, one
cannot say that a person in North America is not allowed to breed their
stallion because it has a white star. An NFHR evaluator might, however,
mark the "Overall" score lower because it is, in essense, less desireable.

Having said that, the participants of FHI, including the NFHR, do look to
the "mother country" - Norway - for guidance in issues concerning things
such as white markings, type and testing procedures. It is one reason why
the NFHR is still working with FHI in completion of the performance
standards in the FHI judge's handbook.

There is a possibility, in the future, that there can be one standard, or
set of rules, or handbook, or whatever you might want to call it, that can
be used in all countries or organizations that evaluate their fjord horses.
That is one goal of FHI, but much give and take has to occur, with respect
to various countries' testing procedures, before one program can be
acceptable to all participants.

The FHI handbook is a great reference for learning about conformation, in
addition to what is printed in the NFHR evaluation procedures document. In
addition to descriptions of the fjord horse, colors, conformation, etc.,
there are great diagrams and pages that include translation of the horse's
body parts, color, etc. in a number of different languages. If you desire
to purchase one, you can do so through the FHI website.

In regard to the white star, technically according to our breed standard

it is only acceptable for mares. However, while I do agree a white star is
not desirable and should not be accepted on a stallion, there are other

Could you tell me which one is used when evaluating in this country? Do you

Yes, Ruthie, you are correct. The Norwegians stopped licensing stallions
with white stars in the early 80's. They still allow a white star on mares,
about the size of a kroner (quarter). It has also been agreed
internationally that white stars will not be accepted on stallions. Here is
what is says in the Fjord Horse International Official Handbook for Fjord
Horse Judges in the section on description of the fjord horse:

"The five accepted colours are brown dun, uls dun, grey (blue dun), red dun
and yellow dun. It is important that the so called primitive markings are
appreciated and preserved.
A star is only accepted on a mare. Othere visible markings [i.e. white
markings] are not accepted."

The guidelines in this handbook have been signed in agreement by 10
international fjord horse organizations including the NFHR. Norway,
Denmark, Holland, Sweden, Germany, France, Belgium, Switzerland and
Scotland.

I'm located in Missouri--2 hours from Kansas City and about the same from St.
Louis. If you're interested in pedigrees, let me know and I'll be happy to
provide them. My stallion is a Gingard son. Very gentle.

By the way, I've now been told that perhaps the white isn't very desireable so
both my stallions will be geldings. I'll discount the one with white --he will
still be a wonderful riding and/or driving horse.

I have two yearling stud colts. One definitely will be a gelding. The
other might be a good prospect for a stallion. He is a Gingard
grandson--wonderful personality and a small white star on his
forehead--<>

A note of interest for consideration, there was a discussion about white
stars (spots) some time back on this list and it was stated, on good
authority, that Norway no longer allows any white star whatsoever on a
stallion.. and I know there are those here in NA that would least prefer
them as well.. (I suppose it could present a real problem if mated with a
mare that was predisposed to white as well, though I've not actually heard
of such a case myself). Any Pinto Fjords out there? =))

that are almost identical. Would make a wonderful team for someone. They will
be going to the trainer in the next month--if interested, let me know. I will
have to increase the cost by training once they come back.

I have a two-year old gelding--already worked in a round pen. Very nice
personality.

One yearling filly--the most beautiful of the bunch out of my best mare. Her

I have had several calls this spring from Midwest people looking for fjords.
As recently as this week, a lady looking for a trail safe fjord for her
husband. Fjords are in demand, that is for sure. I have one for sale, but he
is primarily a driving work type fjord, can do anything in harness, - but tho
you can certainly ride him as well, and he does well, I am hoping to find him
a driving home or at least combo. I truly belive in honestly matching horse
and buyer, no fun otherwise. So, when people call for a riding fjord only, I
have none at this point.

If you have anything of the sort for sale, please contact me and I will refer
to you when this lady or others call back.

Fjord Horses for Sale - Michigan

2003-12-06 Thread Foxfire
This message is from: "Foxfire" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

Hello to all from Foxfire Farm in Michigan...

This is a unique opportunity for someone to give or receive a wonderful
Christmas Present!
Some life changing events have created the necessity for selling these 3
wonderful fjord horses.
I am selling the farm and moving, getting out of horses completely.
These are well-bred and well-trained Fjord horses deserving to be worked and
sharing their talents and genes, as driving, riding, or breeding horses.
All 3 of these horses have wonderful ground manners for vet, farrier...
They have not been worked for about a year, except for daily handling,
and this is reflected in their prices.
Each has a unique and special personality...

MIRA N-14915 ( NFHR Reg. No: N-Z-540-M ) Brown Dun mare, 1986,
Sire: BJARGJO N-1908 3.pr Dam: LISE N-14133 2.pr
This beautiful imported mare is broke to ride and drive.
She is a wonderful broodmare, my Lidamir was foal #8 for her.
She has an incredibly beautiful classic Fjord head, is solidly built, drafty
type. She is friendly, willing and could have several more foals.
Excellent manners, very sweet temperament.
 $5,000.00 (U.S.)

TOMAS 281-B (NFHR Reg. No: DL-B-1217-GBrown Dun, 1988,
Sire: ANVIL'S HAUGULL C-178 212-A Dam: GERDA 2123-B
14.3 hand gelding is broke to drive single, pair and 4-in-hand, is a
wonderful riding horse as well.
His tall and long, exquisite movement is suitable for dressage, has lovely
floating forward trot.
He is easy to handle, willing, excellent barn and ground manners
and is also great on trails. He is also very kind and fun to ride.
$5,000.00 (U.S.)

LIDAMIR - Filly b. May 16, 2001, Sire: GJEST Dam:MIRA N-14915
Not registered yet, (but to be reg. at my expense).
This is a very special filly... she is very self-confident, yet kind and
gentle,
very manageable, imprinted at birth, handled regularly, stands for farrier,
ties,
cross-ties... leads well at walk and trot.
As you can, see her breeding comes directly from Norwegian stock
Has the beautiful movement of her Sire, already taller than Dam...
with dam's beautiful classic fjord head.
Much time has been spent with her on manners and in-hand work.
She is ready for more and I no longer have the ability to take her to the
next step.
$5,000.00 (U.S.)

You can see pictures at www.foxfirefjords.com
All three are current on shots, worming, farrier care.

Hell o everyone, never used this before so who knows how it is going to come
out. Read the news often but am a computer "techno weenie" as far as anything
else!To the point, Pats cancer has come back and it looks like its going to be
a long haul and we have to lighten our horse population. For some reason we
have upwards of 25 horses on property which at the best of time is a job and
impossible given what is coming up. We have for sale three 2003 weanlings, 2
fillies 1 colt by our stud PS Casper, 1 yearling filly by Casper and 2 , 2year
old filies by Casper very well matched and just started.. We are also offering
for sale 3, 8 year old mares bred back to Casper ( all are broke, shown with
multiple wins) All of the above are the medium weight driving riding fjords
with beautiful heads. Also for sale are a team of heavier weight 7 year old
geldings, green broke but last weekend won the chore horse competition out of
twelve teams and the weekend before placed 3'rd in a log skid out of 10 teams.
At this time we want to hang on to the stud Casper but would consider a lease
option. Casper is a 7 year old stallion we have had since he was a weanling,
he rides, drives single , pairs and 4 abreast, has impeccable manners, drives
with mares and is easier to handle then all the geldings we have here. And he
is gorgeous, beautiful head which he is passing on to his offspring as well as
his temperment. Have not had time to take him anywhere to be evaluated but as
soon as the oppurtunity comes close we'll be there. All horses priced to sell
and in Canadian dollars, photos available by mail, pedigree by fax. Call

This message is from: "Nancy Hotovy" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

I have recently taken in a nice 7 year old gelding to sell. He is trained
English, has been jumped, and also been taken camping! He pickets well. I
have taken him on a few trail rides to check him out and have been pleased.
He is a very forward gelding, moves out nicely and is interested in where he
is going - a really fun horse to ride. Has nice barn manners and has been
handled since birth. His "girls" have gone off to college and find they do
not have the time for him anymore. His sire is Anvil's Torbjorn and his dam
is Alvina, a King Gjestar daughter. This gelding is 14 1 and although he is
by our Toby, he is not at all draft-type.

We also sold a colt last year (now 2 years old) to a lady who just lost her
husband to cancer and is dealing with many new problems. She would like to
sell this colt very reasonably. He is out of our favorite mare "Frida" and by
Tom and Ann Hans' stallion, Rokida's Haakon. She also has a new nylon draft
style harness for him and would like to sell that also. The colt has not had
any formal training as he was ready to go to the trainer's when all this took
place. He also has been handled since birth - clips, loads, ties, leads,
etc.

This next package is aimed for someone who would seriously like to start
breeding quality Fjords. We will sell these horses individually but will give
a 10% discount if anyone would like all three.

Anvil's Torbjorn - "Toby" is now 20 years old and doing well. We have owned
him since 1989 and had him evaluated by the Norwegian's in Woodstock, VT where
he received his 2nd premium. He also has a gold medallion under the American
Evaluation System. We have been keeping replacement fillies and find that
Toby has worked himself out of a job as most all of our broodmares are now his
daughters and granddaughters. He is a stallion that is easy to handle and
easy to breed with. We have hand bred with him and also collected him for
A.I. Toby is gentle and produces great babies. TUF Juli - silver medallion
as a 3 year old. TUF Reba - gold medallion. Toby's get have won the Get of
Sire class every year in Blue Earth. Last year's judge, Phil Callahan, after
looking over TUF Reba, TUF Kelsey, and TUF Tana remarked "That stallion sure
puts his stamp on his colts - they look great". We've put much time, effort
and thought into our breeding program and this is what we have aimed for! It
takes literally years to see your efforts pay off but comments such as this is
what it's all about.

Hedvig - (Anvil's Haugull x Helga x King Gjestar). "Heidi" is a 15 year old
mare that has produced 6 fillies and 1 colt for us. She is 15 hands, healthy
and sells bred back to Toby for a 2003 foal with weanling filly by her side.
(We will sell them separately but the filly will not be weaned until the 1st
of August). This filly exemplifies just what Heidi and Toby have produced
over the years - a real head turner!

I realize these horses have some age on them, however, they are proven
producers ready to give a breeder a good start on quality Norwegian Fjords.
We have sold Heidi's babies from $3,000.00 - $8,000.00. These Fjords have
quality written all over.

All our horses are wormed every three months, vaccinated regularly, have
farrier work done, stand to be clipped (electric clippers) and have great barn
manners (very important if you live here!)

Please e-mail me privately for prices or any questions. Delivery is also a
possibility - we love to travel.

Nancy Hotovy
The Upper Forty

P.S. Just in case anyone is wondering - we are not getting out of Fjords. I
still have plenty to keep me busy, along with our Jr. Stallion, Anvil's
Buliwyf. We just need to reduce our herd. I think Carole said it well - a
lot of work and a lot of worry. We're not quitting - just slowing down a
little especially since our son, Michael has grown up and left home - my
chief barn help! BTW he turned 21 today. Hardly seems possible that the
little boy who thought "vacation" and "Blue Earth" were synonymous has grown
up. I know the last couple sentences have nothing to do with Fjords but
what's a Mom to do? Just can't help it.

Hello Everybody from Carol Rivoire at Beaver Dam Farm in Nova Scotia -

All of our own horses, and most of the consignment horses are sold.
However, there are still some very good ones available.

BDF LIV - (Gjest x Holly-Solar). This is the very best offering we have,
and one of the best we've ever had. I can't say enough positive about this
beautiful mare. She truly has it all! *Superb Conformation *Beautiful
Head *Terrific breeding (Gjest daughter out of Solar mare) *Terrific
Movement (moves exactly like Gjest) *Very very athletic! *Very well
trained to Ride & Drive (used in our Beginner Driving Vacation program -
Also, in our BDF Six Horse Quadrille) *Excellent Manners *Fantastic
Temperament *Proven Broodmare *Perfect Age (7 years) - Everytime I look
at this mare in action, I see Gjest. She works rounded with steady rhythm,
good stride, and excellent hock action. OUTSTANDING MARE FOR COMPETITION!
This mare is not cheap, but IS a real bargain at the price. You'd be hard
pressed to find her equal anywhere at any price.

PEPPERTREE'S BRENNING - 4 yr. gld. - OUTSTANDING DRESSAGE PROSPECT -
(Marnix x BDF Jennifer Anne - Gjest daughter) This is a very beautiful
gelding of outstanding athletic ability. He's supple and can use himself
much better than most. A Gjest grandson and Marnix son with Stine (dam of
BDF Kanada King, BDF Obelisk, BDF Malcolm Locke) as his granddam . . . How
can he miss being a winner? He can't! This horse has it all. He's tall
(14.2 hands), rather dark color with a gorgeous head and wonderful
markings. He's being trained in Dressage under saddle by an excellent
German rider. He also works very well in harness regularly pulling three
kids and a dog around the farm. His temperament is beautiful Super
friendly, kind, and willing. -- Brenning also works in our Beaver Dam
Farm Six Horse Quadrille. -- For anyone looking for a Fjordhorse that can
win in dressage (ridden or driven). This is the horse!!! He's stupendous.
In the world of dressage horse . . . this horse is the buy of the century.

ANYA - 11 yr. old mare. PURE NORWEGIAN BREEDING (Karibu x Soleia)
Very big (14.2 hands) & VERY BEAUTIFUL! Anya is probably the most "typey"
mare we've ever had. Truly great looking Gorgeous head and most
beautiful body and conformation. Her movement is correct, but not
spectacular. Her manners are great, and she's very willing. She's
regularly used in our apprentices' lesson program, and trailriding for our
Beginner Driving Vacation guests, and also in our BDF Six Horse Quadrille.
She's a proven broodmare. I'd love to see this mare bred to Gjest.
I have a strong feeling that the two would make a superb match and produce
unusually good foals. Anya is a very tall, big-bodied mare of outstanding
beauty. Her one fault is that her movement is not outstanding. She moves
correctly. No irregularities of any sort; however, she doesn't move with
the scope and fluidity of Gjest, by which I gauge all Fjordhorses. --
That's why I think you would have it all in a foal produced by these two
outstanding horses. They compliment each other beautifully. - Anya is
moderately priced

BERGEN - 4 yr. old mare (MVF Kar x Mira - Norwegian import) - A cute
little mare (13.1 hands). Rides & Drives. Currently being trained under
saddle by an excellent German dressage rider. Also, lots of trailriding.
Bergen's trainer is very much enjoying working with her, and likes her more
and more everyday. Bergen is energetic and enjoys work. She'd make an
ideal child's horse or for a small woman. Probably a wonderful Pony Club
horse as she likes to jump, and has good gaits. Bergen has a good canter.
- Very reasonably priced

After more than twenty years breeding, importing, and selling Fjordhorses,
Beaver Dam Farm has earned a reputation in the horse world for producing
and importing high quality, athletic Fjords of nice temperament and attitude.

We're known for matching horses to buyers, and for being extremely honest
and critical of the horses we sell. Buyers usually say we've understated
the qualities of their horses, and been too critical, but it's important to
us that we sell the right horse to the right person, as much for the
horse's sake as for the person's.

And to that end, we often discourage people from buying. For instance,
totally inexperienced people from buying any horse unless they have access
to qualified teachers.

If you're interested in any of these horses, please call to discuss them.
You'll get what you pay for from BDF, and you can trust our assessment of
each horse that we offer. More than twenty years of experience and
reputation back that up.

Extensive, unedited videos available on all horses. Excellent references
available on us.

Friends of mine are having to sell their Fjords because of health problems.
They have some very nice mares, one imported from Norway, some with foals at
their sides and some good looking young horses. Also a young stallion. All
the horses have been handled regularly and well cared for. Some of the mares
have had some training, but have been mostly broodies the last several
years. Very reasonable prices. Located in Northern Vermont. Please email me
privately for more info and photos.

Just wanted to let the list know of two wonderful mares that we have here
for sale. They are mother and daughter and were sent to us to be bred to our
stallions this past year...the owner has been diagnosed with Lupus and
consequently asked us to sell them for her. They are intermediate Type and
the 10yr old mare was trained to drive by Brian years ago.She also trail
rides. Her daughter is 3 and very green but I have been working with her and
she is extremely willing and learning quickly. We have a video available and
they are pictured on our website.
We also have two yearling geldings available who have been dragging little
rails around the yard all winter and loving the work...harness flapping
doesn't faze them,...Brian is having fun with them.
We have a delivery going south to Portland in the spring so delivery is no
problem. We will also be doing the clinic in Coeur d'Alene in April so
that's another opportunity for delivery...
Check them out and Contact us privately.

Horses for sale/making money off horses

2000-10-06 Thread sfjords
This message is from: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hey I still have two horses for sale. Hugin, coming two year old, a sweet,
gentle, athletic, sporty sound and straight and correct little boy that
should mature 14 hands and is looking for some one to love! He is a very
attractive fjord with nice movement.

I also have a 15 year old mare well broke to drive but not to ride, a
wonderful brood mare who has given us many fabulous foals. She is by Rusten
and 13.2 hands.

Who said something about making money off of horses. Is that possible? I
don't think it is.

I have had some wonderful years with my Fjords but I want to pare all the
way down to two mares and Jovan--my big buddy. And my husbands two
geldings. I have had some problems with poor health and am just a little
too tired to keep on breeding on a regular basis. I will have three
yearlings ready this spring--a filly out of Megan (by Rusten) and two
gelding foal out of Christina (by Rusten) and Aubrey (by Rudaren) These
mares were all raised on Quad L's farm. The foals are all by Woodland's
Jovan--Dustin's full brother.

Shota Fjords is located in Eastern Oregon (Cove) about 50 miles from
Pendleton.

Be careful re the Calif address as there was someone there last year who is
a horse dealer and was selling fjord half breeds that closely resembled pure
breeds. (I always feel sorry when we draw this line as they are horses
after all). See the papers and buy from legitimate dealers. Jean

I just saw an ad in "The Horseman's New Classified Ads" the following:
NORWEGIAN FJORD HORSES.
9 year old mare and 7 year old gelding. Matched as a team.
$4500.00 each, or $8000.00 for both. Great pack and trail horses.

I am not sure where this is at, but seeing as this is a California news

I would surmize that it is somewhere in California, maybe central or north,

You may recall that some weeks ago these Fjords were referred to on the

requested photos and info but they never came, and never came. So don't get
too excited. How will they find homes with no presentation whatsoever? Sure
sad. Ruthie

This message is from: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I talked to Linda Scott tonight about her horses. She said they are borded
at a ranch and are happy and healthy there.
The horses that are for sale are supposedly registerable
the Dam is Maggie and is bloodtyped and was registered, but she hasnt kept up
her membership
The Sire was registered

Horse 1 the gelding. Probably the best rider of the bunch, trail rides
Horse 2 The stallion, good bloodlines, great personality, some riding,
Horse 3. The mare (maiden) limited riding, gentle
Horse 4 Another mare (in foal) but shes keeping the foal, due to the
accidental breeding by her stallion which is the mares brother) Linda feels
responsible, and will keep the baby due to this. also limited riding.

the horses have been owned and loved and cared for, but there is only her
now, to care for them and she has had to board them out, and wants them to go
to loving homes, where they will have more attention.

Hopes this clears some of the confusion up, they wont go to auction. Feel
free to call her if you have any other questions she said

Unfortunately, i was looking for a better trained mare, so none of them will
work for me. But there must be someone out there, that these horses will be
a great addition to their homes

Back to lurking, nothing new over here in Montana (wish the ice would melt
though)

Hello List,
I also talked to Linda Scott about her horses and wanted to add a little
about the bloodlines. Her older mare is a wonderful mare, Maggie, by Ask out
of Manda. She will probably be going back to Stors and Bev Bishop where she
bought her from origionally. The stallion is out of her mare by a stallion,
Fenrir who is currently in Alaska (Gromar and Kama). Two fillies are out of
her mare and by Misha and the last horse I am not sure of the breeding
although I know it is out of her mare. She has found a place to keep the
horses so they are not bound for the auction as previously planned. If
anyone is interested you have a little more time to consider and Linda is
very negotiable about price and must sell all of them .Linda's number in
Helena, MT, is (406) 449-4489.

Hi, List. I met Ceacy for the first time at Equitana this past June, and got
a chance to see the two yearling fillies in the clicker training
demonstration that she mentioned. These two girls were in a very small
enclosure, raised up off the pavilion floor several feet and separated only
by a flimsy-looking fence. To get there, they had to go up a long, narrow
and dark ramp that gave me the creeps - think how it would look to a
yearling! Both girls walked up and in like they had done it daily for
months. What pros!
These are two really beautiful fillies, guys! I was very impressed
with both, not only because they were gorgeous, but because of their truly
unflappable personalities.Ceacy said that they had done little or no
clicker training before, and they were catching on to this new stuff
amazingly well. Nice girls, worth a good hard look.
By the way, Ceacy, you probably won't remember me - I was there with
my young teenage daughter, and met you in the barn area. I'm the one who had
just bred one of my mares to Brian Jacobsen's Arve (a Kongaard son).
