Re: [Audyssey] Baseball version 4
Hello Jim, I just wanted to drop you a note and say that I absolutely love the baseball version 4. It is just so much funner with the fielders diving for balls, pitcher getting hit with line drives, and the sounds when someone gets hit by a pitch. I have been looking for commercials for about an hour so that I can add some to the game. Congrats on a wonderful game. You can change the baseball commercial files baseco1.wav through baseco13.wav files or just add to them like baseco14.wav baseco15.wav etc etc. And of course they go in the c:\program files\kitchensinc folder. Yes, you can change all of the baseball player names. So start up something like Note Pad Press control + o to open a file and type in one of the below drive, path and file names. It might even work to just cut and paste in one of them. c:\program files\kitchensinc\baseballbatters.txt c:\program files\kitchensinc\baseballreliefpitchers.txt c:\program files\kitchensinc\baseballstartingpitchers.txt After changing the names being careful to maintain the file format just save the file HTH BFN Jim 99% of lawyers give the rest a bad name. [Audyssey] Chillingham help
Hey all I know this hasn't been talked about in some time, but I've recently got the game and am stuck. I've gathered all the bugs for the professor, gave the hermit the remody, have the rain dancing book and such but don't know what I should attempt to do next. If anyone can nudge me in the right direction I'd appreciate it. Honestly gold for tokens would be awesome if the GM would put it in. Then there'd be more ways to earn tokens than breaking the bank, haha. Which I've only done like, once. Which is pretty sad, but oh well. Either way its not really that great being on top anyway, it takes almost all of the challenge out of the game since I now have 158 melee and 173 stamina. As you can imagine the game isn't meant for people with scores that high, the only reason I donated so much was to motivate the GM to release more sanarios. Unfortunately all it did was make him go into a contest phase, haha. I will admit the blade of Eventide is pretty cool, and I'm liking my dwelling so far. Re: [Audyssey] Sryth Dwelling and Tournament of Illusion
It's probably in one of the dwellings that were awarded as prizes in the Festival of Blades. I put in for the raffle at the Tournament of Illusion even though the best of those swords is slightly weaker than what I'm currently using. I've got my eye on one of the amulets at Tallys', but it costs quite a few tokens, which I'd be able to get if I traded in my Dragongem Longsword. But I'll only do that if I can be certain of a weapon almost as good. Hi Shadow Dragon The dwelling sounds good, and that weapon even better! I've put in for the rafel and hope something goes my way. It's fun with the ring of illusion thus far. Re: [Audyssey] Sryth Dwelling and Tournament of Illusion
Hey As for the tournaments and AG tokens I'd have to agree with you. Naturally if you have lots of tokens you can buy some super equip, I have an item or two but have earned the tokens during the game. I was taken out I think it was in round 3 of the tourney. Hoping the ring of Illusion is better. What I'm not thrilled with is the island with that steel door, having to get your skills or powers to 70 isn't easy when you need about four thousand xp for one level. Though to some extent at least the cemetary and the ruins help out. I've no idea what else I can do to get more xp at this time. I also didnt like the difference in what the top 8 got as prizes in the tournament of arms compared to the rest of us. I came in 13th place and only got 32 ag tokens, 4092 exp and some gold. there is not much you can really do with that amount of ag tokens and exp. Re: [Audyssey] www.playball.ws question
The only games on the site is the NFL pool called Running with the Pack. You can pick up the Strat-o-Matic Computer Baseball game demo from the Strat Instructional Jukebox. In this download page your will find the audio clips on setting up the full versions. The startup kit in the download file ACCESSABLEBB has the Jaws configs to play the demo game and you have to read the help files included to setting up the demo. Following the help setup will be the same for the full version of the baseball game. To find more about Strat products goto http://www.strat-o-matic.com My newest Jaws configs are in the jukebox for the vista operation system. Lastly, the demo that is down loadable has no game sounds to make it a faster download for slower connections. This is a ten years old and I was given premission to put it on my web page. So, the Strat company in 1997 still had customers with dial up and is the reason why no sounds files were included. A note on Strat games are sport sims replays of past season for baseball, football, basketball and hockey. My work on these sports games are on going. Creating Jaws configs to make them accessible to the blind community. Congigs for Hockey and Basketball are available from me by email at this time. I have not included them on the web site. For football I am looking at over hauling the configs with the latest version of Jaws. Before the configs used Hot Spot Clicker an open source product that allowed things that older versions of Jaws could not do. At this time I am in a email league with other members of the HRFL baseball draft league. We are playing the 1941 season and this is taking much of my time having both Chicago teams. The other members of the League has perfect vision and I being the only person who I know is blind is in such a league on the net that can play baseball head to head on the net in ral time. SSome day I hope to create a similar league for the blind. You can find past seasons on playball.ws that I done with the Leaague. And that is what playball.ws is all about to show off, smiles and to get others interested in playing Strat. Re: [Audyssey] Sryth Dwelling and Tournament of Illusion
Sryth really isn't about having a good character, its more about the plots and the storylines. Sadly for some stupid reason the GM seems to have taken a liking to contests lately, hopefully he'll drop back into what makes the game fun soon. He's got a lot of loose ends to tie up. - Original Message - From: "Greg" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Gamers Discussion list" Sent: Wednesday, September 12, 2007 11:32 AM Subject: Re: [Audyssey] Sryth Dwelling and Tournament of Illusion > Hello, > I have stopped playing because it seems like the only way to get a really > good character is to spend lots of money donating to get ag tokens. Re: [Audyssey] Sound RTS Chat.
Hi, When I say "add defensive buildings", I mean a scout tower which can be mutated to an arrow-throwing tower or to a cannon tower. It will not be possible to garrison a building (like for example bunkers in Starcraft), at least in this version. Defensive buildings will be powerful for their cost, but they will not move, of course. Well of course not. the game was never made for the blind. If we're gonna follow what nintendo did, then there's no use in making an audiogame cause nintendo already has a mario game right? lol - Are you into Anime, manga, and video game music? Re: [Audyssey] Sryth Dwelling and Tournament of Illusion
Hello, I have stopped playing because it seems like the only way to get a really good character is to spend lots of money donating to get ag tokens. I also didnt like the difference in what the top 8 got as prizes in the tournament of arms compared to the rest of us. I came in 13th place and only got 32 ag tokens, 4092 exp and some gold. there is not much you can really do with that amount of ag tokens and exp. Re: [Audyssey] Mario, and my only complaint
there's a really good, and highly comprehensive, faq about all the characters in the mario universe, from all the games. Just check Gamefaqs under any mario title and you should find it. the number of games Mario has been in is a bit rediculous, so it's about time that he had his first audio game. Beware the Grue! [Audyssey] Sryth Dwelling and Tournament of Illusion
Hi, Just figured I'd update you all on the status of my dwelling in sryth, for those of you who play. I'm not sure what I posted last time, but in adition to the item storage chamber, treasury, and personal dungeon, we now have a fence that we can sell our items at for the best price in the game, it tops out at 7500 but it also gives good prices on things lower, for example, exceptional quality weapons and armor go for something like 1125 gold rather than 725 in most places. The Game Master has finally started putting special items in. He put in the elixir of major healing a while back, which in effect gives us another quickstone use per day. And today or yesterday he started putting in the special weapons. There's a list of them on the forums, but here's mine: The Blade Of Eventide - - - - - - * Class: Weapon, Slashing * Enc: 4 * Quality: Magical * Power: Devastating Slash * Melee Rating: +30, or +35 vs. Undead, or +40 vs. Dragons * Agility: +1 * Aura: +1 - - - - - - This enchanted longsword has, for centuries, belonged to the owner of Blacklake Keep. The hilt and blade of this powerful sword are jet black. This weapon is of magical quality. Pretty insane. And apparently there are going to be two pieces of armor following that up. On a side note, how's everyone doing in the tournament of illusion? I'm having fun with it myself, the challenges are original and unexpectedly (for me anyway,) fun. Really? Hmm, that's interesting. I didn't think they used very many in the very first Mario game. Then again my brother could only make it to level 3 though before he died. Re: [Audyssey] Sound RTS Chat.
The save game will be in beta 9, I think. The food limit is unfortunately not really linked to the lack of savegame but to limitations in the communications in multiplayer mode. I hope to solve this problem in the beta 10 by using a better network architecture that will allow much more units at a time. Re: [Audyssey] Baseball version 4
Hi Jim In the next version of football could you add the ability to play comment .wav files after every play, and the option to switch between .wav file comments and sapi5 comments? then if people had recordings and things they wanted to play as comments they could just name them like footcomment1.wav etcetera and put them in the folder, also if there are no comments and you try to make it play comments it'll just say no comment files exist and just use sapi5. Then nothing would have to be changed and the original game could still be on your site. kind of like commericla in the baseball game but instead comments .wav files for the football game. Re: [Audyssey] Mario, and my only complaint
Hmmm, having a brief check of a mario Faq, it does actually seem that all the enemies used in Dsg's mario game were from the original, - accept I don't believe the vertically moving coopers were officially called Para troupers until mario 3. Obviously an audio rendition of a graphical game will need more Sfx, but personally I think that's fine so long as the effects are in keeping with the atmosphere of things, Eg, it would be slightly odd to suddenly start including high quality sfx with all the Nes stuff in audio Mario, though a few modulated bleeps or Nes effects from other games might be a good thing. Re: [Audyssey] please forgive me!
Hi Nicol, I don't think anyone here thinks you are an evil or bad person. I certainly do not. I merely attempted to point out that what you said could have been said allot nicer. Personally, I can forgive you. I don't hold grudges over silly stuff like this. I don't even hold a grudge against certain list members who personally attacked me in the past. Anyway, the moral lesson here is to try and not be rude to your fellow list members. Think about what you are writing as you write it, and try to imagine how your words will effect the target audience. If it comes off rude, spiteful, or mean then it should be reworded. If it is constructively pointing out a point of view without flaming the person and then it is fine. Note, the word constructive. No two people have to agree on the same thing, but they should do it in a manner that is civil and constructive. I'm honestly not real sure how you could make a good super mario game while retaining the classic feel. I guess you could have the sound when the enemy pops up pan across and jump on it when its close to center screen, but even so that sound they use to show tha you're near an enemy is another sound used for when other things die, spacifically the coopas. Re: [Audyssey] Swami game was Accessible soft shutting down
Hi Ken, Tom talking about his unreleased Swami game gave me the inspiration to put a magic eight ball game into my Sarah game. Of course it is in the Divination classroom. I call it a crystal ball and it uses the traditional 20 responses of the magic eight ball. Since I only added it in last Monday it will be in the next patch. I hope to be finished with the changes to Sarah in the next two weeks. Real life has really gotten in the way of working on game development. Re: [Audyssey] Sound RTS Chat.
Hi Kuvvosh, At the moment, all games have a max food limit of 80 food, ie, 20 food each for a four player game, and 40 for a two player game. Apparently this was done to prevent games going on too long with no ability to save. but presumably, when a save game feature is added, the food limit will also be increased as well. Also, with the ability to have user created maps, hopefully larger maps will be possible (I'd for one like to get full use out of the mages). Beware the Grue! Re: [Audyssey] Fw: mods for your games
Hi Trenton, While playing around with converting wav files to mp3 files and trying to play them for my games I also tried an ogg file. It didn't work either. Heck it wouldn't even play in Windows Media player. BFN Jim We have standards and expect you not to exceed them. Re: [Audyssey] Mario, and my only complaint
Just remember, when you hear a monster, press right aro four times. Jump, and you'll hear a little "up" sound which tells you you've "stomped" the monster. Gotta love the underwater level. [Audyssey] Sound RTS Chat.
I read the Developers Logs, one thing that isn't added is to save a game. Also I want to have more then a 30 min battle, I want a battle that last for hours, as I used to be a big fan of Empire Earth, which you was right about the Ore being in it. But, I want to be able to have a huge battle on a big big map. I hope this can be added later as, I see that Beta 9 is going to be a big update from the current version that is out at the moment. Also, I noticed that I can only maxed out to 40 soldiers, even with more farms is there something I'm missing about increasing my army? Or this just a limited at the moment? Thanks. Re: [Audyssey] Baseball version 4
Hi Jason, Thank you for letting me know that all of the speech is working properly for you in my baseball game. That's true--the game right now is totally mono, and while keeping the feel of the original is fine, it should definitely be expanded somewhat--unless you're trying to keep the feel of how frustrated you were when you played the sighted peoples' version!
