Re: [Audyssey] Need help with Entombed

2011-02-27 Thread Richard Sherman
HI,

The only card you can buy is at the bazaar in twilight town. To have the
bazaar show up you must have the full registered version.

Go into the bazaar, and select buy. Then press the end key to take you to
special items, and press enter. It will show you the play card for 2000
trade coins.

One thing to remember is that when you purchase the play card, you must exit
the game and restart for it to show up. Plus, once purchased, it will remove
all other unlocked cards. You will then have to unlock them all over again.

As a reminder, you get the goblin card somewhere in the game. You get the
crystal card when you defeat the drake. The nature and the one other card
which name eludes me at this time must be unlocked by choosing certain job
combinations.

HTH.

Hi.
I have never tried mortal combat, I may have to look into that one.
I know they do have at least one of the sports packages, I can find out
which one.
Has anyone recorded podcasts with commentaries about playing any of the
sports games, or the mortal combat games? As I assume its a question of
needing to learn what the different sound cues mean.

also, what is you don't know jack? I haven't heard of that one.

Hi Ben,

He was making reference to Cara Quinn. She wrote Jedi Quake, has
apparently taken over maintaining Audio Quake, is involved in some
sort of development with Draconis, and has done some helpful odd jobs

Subject: [Audyssey] assistance with playing time adventures

 Hi list.
Wondering if anyone can help me out with a fairly old game, time
adventures which used to be distributed by code factory.
I am at one part in the game, and I can't progress, I am not sure if its
me who has done something wrong, or if the game is just buggy and I will
 have to start over again.

I dug up the clue book from the audio games.net forum, and had a look at
the thread where someone was experiencing the same issue, but no solution
 was posted.
The section I am having problems with, is when you are back in ancient
griece, and you have to finish the statue and borrow the crane so that two

of the guests can go to the party.
the clue book states I need to talk to the architects assistants, but he
doesn't appear to have any assistants to talk to, or at least they are not

mentioned on the menu of options.
I tried to take the crane, and got two different lectures about not
touching it. and I have tried talking to the architect several times. the
first time he said I couldn't have the crane, and the second he declined
the invite to the party, so then I talked to him a third time and it was
the same conversation with him declining the invitation.
I tried to build the statue, but he hasn't asked me, so of course I can't
do anything with the wax etc.
 any help would be appreciated.
 Thanks, Alex.

Hello,

Well, if it's anything like Soul Blade or Tekken 3, there will
probably be a walk-through, strategy guide, and/or FAQ on the game on
the web. I know one of the Tekken 3 strategy guides I found was over
500K, and a small paperback novel is typically 300K in size. As popular

[Audyssey] sincere request to phil

2011-02-27 Thread NIcol
Hi Phil
I am addressing this to the list so that anyone may comment if they wish.
Me and my mom has a tender relationship and yesterday evening she hold me
tight and I could hear her heart beat.
She have a 6-8 march heart beat.
And then it reminded me of something in the sarah game similar to my mom's
heart beat. And for a while I couldn't think what it was.
Now I remember, it was the dancing of the trolls near the divination tower.
I am now belonging to the religious organization known as Jehovahs'
witnesses .We are strictly forbidden in our religion to play games
containing the supernatural.
We are told that would mean gross unfaithfulness to God.
So I am so tearfully sorry that I can no longer play sarah.
But phil I will never expect you to refund me.
I just want to know if you or anybody else can upload the sound of the
dancing trolls somewhere?
That sound is very comforting to me.
I just would like to hear that sound if my mom is far away at some stage.
Its much appreciated, but if this is not possible I'll understand.
Regards.

Hi,

That's why I don't watch televangelists, because they're always
trying to sell you something, and the only recorded time the Lord got
ticked off enough to get violent was when the money-changers were
selling crap in His Father's Temple. Lord said to just drop everything

Another thought is that, according to wickanism, a spell is simply a
prayer to god, but done in a symbolic fashion rather than simply sitting
down and speaking it.

One wickan lady i met said a spell could be as simple as pouring your
troubles into a cup of water and pouring them away to ask god to remove
them.

Certainly nothing maligne there, in fact quite the opposite sinse she's
doing exactly what Catholics do when looking through the rosery, just with
slightly different symbols.

I actually felt rather sorry for her, and for other wickans sinse they
recieve a lot of bad press from some very unpleasant narrow minded people
simply because of popular myth.

As for the idea of something in fantasy literature being wrong or demonic, I
find that very hard to believe, especially sinse the founder of modern
Fantasy, tolkien himself was a very confirmed christian and indeed much like
C s lewis his christian thinking had a deffinite effect on the world he
created.

Myself I'd worry far more about people who ban books specifically on content
without reading or considdering them them than people who write stories
containing a certain subject matter.

I certainly know which type of people have caused more evil in the world in
the past.

Beware the grue!

[Audyssey] Problem with Adrift 4.0

2011-02-27 Thread Thomas Ward
Hello everyone,

As you know I've been experimenting with creating some text
adventures. At the moment I'm still playing with Adrift 4.0 simply
because I like the easy user interface. However, I've run into a
rather big problem I can't seam to solve, and this might be a
limitation of the 4.0 generator/runner.

Basically, the game I'm working on has a fairly long intro like three
or four pages. This is necessary to give the player the full story
before getting into the game. Problem is when the game starts you get
the first page, and when you hit enter it litterally skips to the last
page. I'm not sure how to view the two pages in between, and have
everything display correctly. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Re: [Audyssey] I need your advice on consoles and playable games

2011-02-27 Thread Clement Chou
It's a complex decision... I would recommend the ps3 first as it's my
preference, and to my knowledge there are more playable games for it.
I could, however, be terribly mistaken and to all xbox360 fans I
appologize if that is the case. But the ps3 has a pretty
straightforward interface, and the controller is great in your hands.
I've personally always found the xbox controller a bit too bulky...
and the buttons aren't to my style. But to each their own, and the
xbox360 does have some amazing games for it.

Having said that, the ps3 has a lot of games as well... most of them
are available on the xbox360 as well, so whatever system you choose
won't likely affect your selection of games. Both the consoles allow
you to download games that are either made by small companies or in
some cases bigger ones, as well as remakes of old classics such as
bionic commando for the nes. The xbox360 allows you to do this and
pay for the games through the computer, whereas the ps3 requires
sighted assistance. So if you want to buy things off the console
store, consider that as well before you choose. Here are a few games
I'd recommend you starting out with.

Super Street Fighter IV
Soul Calibur IV
Rock band series of games... which you need instruments for. So
unless the site you use offers those with the game, best wait for those. grins.

Blazblue
Any other fighting games you see up there.

Keep in mind that just because it's the first time you're choosing a
console doesn't mean you have to jump right to the present
generation. You can get a ps2 as well which, although older, has just
as many if not more games blind people can play. So look at your
options and do a bit of research. Personally, there's advantages to
all three, it just depends on what you're looking for. If you want to
play online but don't want to pay to do so, then the ps3 is the way
to go. If you have any more questions, feel free to let me know. Be
glad to help. smiles.

You have to make sure the model will allow you to play them first.
Those were discontinued quite a while ago.. for ps2 backwards
compatobility anyway. All ps3s can play ps1 games.

Re: [Audyssey] I need your advice on consoles and playable games

2011-02-27 Thread Sarah Haake

Hi Clement,

thanks for your advice. *smiles*

Yes, I know that most of the console games are available for PSX and
Xbox all the same.
That's why I thought the PS3 might be the better choice, because I can
play older PS1 games on it, too. And can I play PS2 games on a PS3 too,
btw?

Online play is actually not so important for me, since I never was much
into this PVP things. And I don't think I would buy any games online
either, as long as the console is only rented for maybe two weeks or so
at a time. I think the available games on CD should be enough choice to
pass this time. *smiles*

Yeah, there are instruments with the rock band games there, too. So I
can try these, though the rent is higher for them of corse because the
instruments come with them. But that's something I'll think about.

So, I'll definately take a look at fighting games and these rockband
titles. But I'll take my time and see if any more suggestions come along
here before I make a decision. *smiles*

Your question is so broad, there isn't one particular answer that would
help. Sudoku is made up of 9 columns and rows of numbers. The object of
the game is to arrange them, mostly by filling the blank squares in with
numbers, so that there is no duplication down a column, across a row, or in
any diagonal direction. One way to do this is to fill the grid is each of 3

9 by 9 square grids so that the correct result is the same in each of these
sections, one by one, then making changes so that the correct result is
throughout the entire grid.

For a hands on way of solving Sudoku puzzles, you can order a braille book
from

www.nbp.org

that is a good general book on solving these fun number puzzles.

If you are asking how to operate a specific Sudoku program, I would say to
view the user's guide that came with it for most of your help. HTH.

PSX usually refers to ps1. And if you can find an older 60 gb model
ps3, odds are it'll play both.. so that'll be a good place to start.
I would recommend asking staff what models they have and whether any
of them are backwards compatible. Wouldn't mention being blind
though... might throw them for a loop. lol. As for other games,
you're pretty much out of luck aside from fighters and music games
unless you like sports games EG: baseball, hockey, boxing, etc.

Because the braille book has raised illustrations of Sudoku puzzles, as well

Re: [Audyssey] sincere request to phil

2011-02-27 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Nicol,

Nicol wrote:

I am now belonging to the religious organization known as Jehovahs'
witnesses .We are strictly forbidden in our religion to play games
containing the supernatural. We are told that would mean gross
unfaithfulness to God.

My reply:

Nicol, I know that this is a serious issue for you, but before you
completely close the door on these games I think you might want to
listen to what I say. I know you have said publically on list that
your mother and her minister often keeps trying to convince you that
games dealing with the supernatural is sinful, bad, evil, whatever.
I've been in and out of Christian churches all of my life and most
people, most Christians that is, don't take such a harsh view of books
and games. I would say that many people would find these religious
views extremest and down right fanatical. How do I know that?

Well, for one thing we have fantasy authors like C.S. Louis who wrote
the Chronicals of Narnia. He was most definitely a born again
Christian, and all of his books dealt with fantasy, magic, and the
supernatural. So was he evil?

No, certainly not. Once you set aside all the magic and fantasy themes
of his books you definitely can see his Christian faith underneath it.
For instance, in the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe there is a scene
near the end where the white witch wants to kill Azlan. Azlan like
Christ allows himself to be sacrificed for Narnia, to die for his
people, and at the end he is resurrected from the dead. This is not a
satanic or evil representation of the crucifiction of Christ. Rather
C.S. Louis wanted children to know the value of Christ's crucifiction
through a fantacy setting. To teach them the value of personal
sacrifice over our own selfish desires. To pass along what Christ
said, there is no greater love than this than a man lay down his life
for a friend.

In more recent years the Harry Potter books, movies, and games have
come under extreme fire from religious groups like your mother's. In
most of the cases many of the things they say about the Harry Potter
books, games, and movies is absolutely wrong, and I get the Distinct
impression that most of them haven't even read the books. They simply
spout off religious doctrine without examining for themselves what the
books stand for. In other words they don't even stop to consider the
source. If they would shut up a minute and actually read them they
would find out that many Christian themes and Christian values are
throughout all seven books even though there is a magical and fantasy
setting for them. However, more over to get a sense of what the books
are about we need to look at Joanne Rowling, AKA J.K. Rowling,
herself.

Unlike a lot of authors J.K. Rowling has been very open about her life
before the Harry Potter books came out. What we know is that before
Philosopher’s Stone was released in 1997 Joanne Rowling was a divorced
mother, with a daughter, Jessica, and couldn't find steady employment.
To be frank the woman was flat broke with nothing else better to do
than to write stories. The idea for the books began on a lonely train
ride home, and sort of just grew out of an idea of a magic train
carrying children to school. The train of course in time would become
the Hogwarts Express. Over time she began to see the big picture of
her idea, and began writing Philosopher’s Stone that would eventually
become a New York Times best seller.

From everything I've read and from viewing her interviews etc I find
Joanne Rowling a very kind, very nice, likable person. She never set
out to make Harry Potter a best seller, she didn't expect it would
ever get published, but it happened anyway. Despite her success she
has never let success go to her head, and has tried to stick to
triditional family values, to Crhistian values, and we can see those
values all through her books. The stories aren't so much about magic
and witchcraft but about loving one another, of doing the right thing
despite the odds, and about being the best person you can be.

For instance, even though Draco was a constant jurk throughout the
seven books when push came to shove Harry Potter showed a willingness
to lay down his own life to pull Draco out of the fire in Deathly
Hallows. This fits the hero mold, and is based on Cristian values and
respect for others. A willingness to love everyone even your own
enemies even if they don't deserve it.

In Goblet of Fire Harry was ordered to rescue Ron, but instead he
tries to take it upon himself to help rescue Hermione, Ron, and
Fleur's sister. The best example of this is when Fleur fails to rescue
her sister Harry goes back to rescue her himself. It would have and
should have caused him to lose the contest, but his moral inclination
to help others in need was more important than winning or losing the
contest itself. It was for this reason he was given a high
score.Proving The moral of the story being that we should always help
those in need regardless of what we may have to

Re: [Audyssey] sincere request to phil

What are your own personal beliefs about playing games? Those are more
important then the beliefs of an intolerant Church that bases all games on a
single aspect that may or may not be the main theme of the game. The same

what I have been told by others about the book.

In the case of Sarah, do you believe that Phil wants anything to do with
anything against God, or that he wants others to stray from God? When
deciding to play a game or not, I think it is more important to base my
beliefs of a game's merit on how the game affects me. If it causes me to
become a violent person, if it changes my character, if it changes how I
deal with others, then I should not play that game.

When I was a kid, the church I attended did not believe in the use of cards
in games. They believed that playing cards would lead to gambling and was a
sin. I did not believe it. I am not a gambler to this day. They also did
not believe in dancing because it would lead to sinful behavior. They felt
the same about drinking alcoholic beverages. I have done all 3 of these
things. I am a Christian. I am not an alcoholic, I do not partake in
sinful behavior with women, and I do not gamble. What matters is what you
do with what is presented to you, not the material itself. If you allow it
to affect you in a nonChristian way, it is not the fault of the game, the
beer, or the women. It is the fault of you. I am adult enough to know the
difference between reality and make believe, and I do not allow one to creep
into the other. Phil's game is a game, and nothing more. Shades of Doom is
a game, and nothing more. I will never kill someone in real life because of
a game I have played or a book I have read. I am a big fan of the Harry
Potter series, but will never try to cast a spell to open a door. I know it

Now I remember, it was the dancing of the trolls near the divination
tower.

Regards.

2011-02-27 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Milos,

I probably will if I don't find out any answers here. I was just
checking to see if anyone knows if this is a screen reader thing or an
issue with Adrift itself. However, I would like to point out with
Adrift there actually isn't any programming involved which is one
reason I like it.

Basically, what you have as an IDE with pull down menus and dialog
boxes. To create rooms, characters, and items you simply bring up the
proper dialog box, fill out the fields, click ok and it is added to
the game. Save your work and you have an instant text adventure. Of
course the fact you do not have direct access to the code is something
of a disadvantage as well.

Cheers!

Hi Bryan,

sorry, but this is a German site and renting stuff is only possible in
Germany and Austria I think.
But I think there has to be such a service for the US or UK etc. somewhere
on the net, too.

Concerning a PS3, I also thought that this would maybe be my best option,
since I could also play older PS1 and PS2 games on it.

HI Charles,

Well said. I couldn't have said it better myself. I mean some of these
religious types need to just need to relax and look at things
rationally. They also need to draw a line between harmless make
believe and reality.

I too have been harped on by religious types about alcohol, but they
clearly don't know what they are talking about. I'm not a drunk, an
alcoholic, and I have a glass of beer or wine once and a while and
that doesn't make me into a drunk by any means. Yet there are people
who constantly tell me I'm going to hell because of it. That's just
stupidity talking.

I could talk about my choice in music, the games I play, what I drink,
the way I whare my hair, and some religious person will have something
to complain about. So I don't worry about it. All I care about is my
own personal relationship with God, and let him decide if what I'm
doing is right, wrong, or otherwise. Everyone else can go jump in a
lake if they don't like it.

Re: [Audyssey] sincere request to phil

2011-02-27 Thread Charles Rivard
Also, here's another thing to ask any Church member who is against, let's
say, the Harry Potter series. Two questions: 1. Have you, yourself, read
any of the books? 2: What is more important. The message or the method of
conveyance? I know some people who are dead set against rock music. I have
asked them, what about Christian rock? They are against it because it is
rock music. So I tell them that they are narrow minded because they are not
listening to Christian music, but are focusing on the method used to deliver
the message. Jesus would never do such a thing. When he wanted to get a
message across to drunks, what did he do? He went among them. Was Jesus a
drunk? Of course not. He drank with them, though, didn't he?

I have been told that if Christians see me drinking a beer in a bar, they
will assume that I am a drunk. I have pointed out this situation: In
Phoenix, Arizona during the summer, the temperature can reach 118 degrees in
the afternoon. On the way home, I hear music coming from within a bar. I
am thirsty, so I go in and order a beer. Now, if people see me drinking
that beer, and they assume that I am a drunk, they are the one doing wrong,
not me. They are assuming what is not true. I finish my beer, get up, and
walk the rest of the way home. I did not sin by being a lush. I merely
cured my thirst with a tasty drink of beer.

[Audyssey] interesting gameplay from a japanese game

2011-02-27 Thread Clement Chou
As a lot of people here know, I have a huge thing for games out of
Japan. I love the Japanese culture and language, and games fall into
my interest area. One series I have loved for a long time is the ryu
ga gotoku series, known in the west, aka North America and Europe, as
Yakuza. This is a series of action games for sony's line of consoles.
They aren't just straight beat em ups, however. These are games which
are pretty much crime mysteries based on the japanese underworld of
the Yakuza, which would be the equivalent to our Mafia. These games
are pretty well-known for their free-roaming aspect and lots, and I
mean lots, of cutsceens. All the story, dialog etc is actually
written by a famed yakuza novel-writer.

I talk about this series because although they aren't playable in and
of themselves by totally blind folks, those who have sighted people
around might find some interest in these games. There is a lot more
to do in the game than just beat up thugs... there's minigames,
sidequests, shopping, hostess clubs... tons of stuff to do, all in
the district of Kamuro, which is a fictional recreation of Tokyo's
kabuki. It's a great series, and should be looked into by anyone who
likes exploration and who has some sighted help willing to help.

The gameplay vid below is a sample of a sidegame in the series,
called Ryu ga Gotoku: Kenzan. This game is a spinoff of the main
series, and features the same style of gameplay, exploration etc. But
the time is 1605, and the game features samurai as opposed to
gangsters. This is one of the best examples of the game and series
imo, and takes place in a part of the story where Miyamoto musashi is
fighting a man named Sejuro yoshioka.

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3394499/%E9%BE%8D%E3%81%8C%E5%A6%82%E3%81%8F%E3%80%80%E8%A6%8B%E5%8F%82%EF%BC%81%28Ryuu%20ga%20Gotoku%20KENZAN%21%29%20%20vs%20%E6%B8%85%E5%8D%81%E9%83%8E%28Seijuro%29.mp3

Enjoy. Comments or questions about the series welcome as always.

[My Reply:]
Hi Sarah,

While I may not be entirely up on the games available, the X-Box
will be the one most likely to break down. The electronics are shoddy
inside and tend to burn out quickly, and the software to crash, as
Microsoft only wants your repeat business. If it can get you to replace
your console every year, they'll be in hog heaven.

The Playstation will last the longest of the two, has more
options come standard, and uses a normal DVD format on it's disks, where
the X-Box uses an entirely different one. My Playstation One is still
going strong, since it was purchased in the 90's, though the laser head
could probably use a good cleaning by now. The controllers last a long
time, as long as you don't throw them at the TV, otherwise they tend to
break pretty easy when jumping up and down on them.

I dunno zilch about the Nintendo stuff, so take your chances
there. Nintendo tends to offer more games for pre-teens, so if you like
Barney the Purple Dinosaur stuff, Nintendo's the way to go. Personally,
I think many of their titles are so juvenile that they're mind-numbingly
boring.

If it were me, I'd go for a Playstation 3, as it's backwards
compatible with the Playstation 2 and 1 games piling up in the used game
stores. If there's a fighter game out there, odds are that it's been
released for the Playstation.. Since fighters and RPGs are the only
real game types that interest me, and 3rd person shooters like Tomb
Raider are no longer playable, I can't offer you much info on software.

Someone here said Final Fantasy 13 was pretty accessible,
though, and Square is one of the best game designers around. Love that
Final Fantasy series of RPGs. I must have replayed Final Fantasy 7
fifteen tines, and want to play it again. When a game is so engrossing
that you actually cry when a character gets killed, and then go on a
rampage to kill their murderer, you have to admit that the game is well
above the average. I'm hoping Final Fantasy 13 is another good one.

[Audyssey] translation for vid

2011-02-27 Thread Clement Chou
I didn't want to go over the limit, so here's the translations from
the video in a separate message. Keep in mind that Japanese is not my
first language... and my grammar and vocab are poor at best. But I
can understand enough to get the gist of the conversation, and I'll
try and translate best I can.

Sejuro: So it's true... you are miyamoto musashi!
Musashi: You... why are you here?
Sejuro draws his sword
sejuro: something about not having any choice. O think.
Musashi starts to protest, but stops as Sejuro thrusts at him, and
sidesteps to get out of the way of the blade.
The next few sentences I can't translate, but it comes down to Sejuro
declaring that he has to fight you and then shouting, Draw your
Katana, Musashi!
He then proceeds to attack Musashi who uses two swords to block the
blow. This, for anyone who is curious, was Musashi's trademark and
what made him historically famous... the idea of using two swords,
one in each hand. This game has real historic names in it.. but the
characters themselves are original.
After his blow is blocked by musashi, Sejuro says, Two swords...
with that I am proved correct. You are miyamoto musashi!

The last bit I can't translate... and then the actual fight starts.
Again, enjoy the vid... and if people want translations, I can try
and look them up. Or better yet, if anyone on this list speaks or
understands Japanese, they could do a better job of translating this
than I could.

Re: [Audyssey] I need your advice on consoles and playable games

2011-02-27 Thread Clement Chou

The xbox360 actually does use DVDs... and the ps3 now uses blueray discs.

At 05:27 PM 27/02/2011, you wrote:

the best choice and which games should I try for it?

[My Reply:]

Hmmm what stuff contains.
There is a hastelly scribbled contents in untidy fashon in the file.
6 wins
 a stones like game, alpha.
archery.
Alpha, 5 rounds with configurable ini file.
blackjack 2.1
game sound packs
which include mods and missions for lonewolf and a mod for startrek
final conflict ds9 type.

helisim, uncompleted sim for copter.
then there are files for skype, drive cleaning, cd drives and other
utilities I can't remember off the top of my head.
then there are games for startrek, pc blaster and another fast
arcade also stargate sims.

All in states of either finnished or not.
skeeball, a bgt game which is ok for what it is.
table tennis
an alpha again.
and another weird app created around the time of the soccer world cup
in africa.

Most of this is for autoit, and most of this was never finnished.
These are all playable but make use of these as you wish.
there is another gb of stuff pkb wrote, which consisted of audio
libs, voice libs and other includes which are no use to players or
devs its all for the autoit system anyway.
There are a few engine sims which are included in the archive for
just something to do but the rest of the stuff either does not work,
is quite broke or just is not much to look at.

Ie wasn't put up to play as yet, testing sfx etc.
Some stuff in fact was never finnished or started but never had
anything done to it.
There are some games with potentual, like a press your luck game but
all it had was the output code to run it and nothing else.
in fact before I hacked it it didn't even exit, which it does but
thats all it does.

Some projects were missing files which I put in.
on that note if anyone is interested I can put up an archive for devs.
This will not have all the gb of stuff pkb did but it will have all
the libs help files and includes with some examples, and a few other things.
Though most of this was for autoit, the group never got started as
such on anything else.
There was a train sim but the version I have is quite broke and
unworthy for any production, it was really not that interesting in
its current state.

In fact i fully expect peothe archive to get smaller.
Please review the gamesand programs and what you find usefull.
If many don't find something good I will make it go away from the archive.
its 500mb in size right now but it could easily get smaller.
The group I think started 2 years ago, it was for making simple games
and programs.

in its day it was good.

It had a car sound lib somewhere that was put up, but who knows.
it was origionally a groupsim address and a dropbox folder and at one
stage took 2gb of space dropping to 1.26 gb in size.
The group is not fully dead though as most are on the bgt test folder
on dropbox.
then again most bgt devs are on there, a few pkb members either test
or develop.

[Audyssey] Fwd: [GameTalk] BSC Games Merge

2011-02-27 Thread shaun everiss

Dear Valued Customer,

On the week of March 1 2011, we are releasing a new version of the
blindsoftware.com website. It will offer all of our customers some new and
beneficial features. First, you will be able to generate a replacement
unlock code yourself for any BSC game or any blindsoftware.com product
through the blindsoftware.com website. This means you no longer have to wait
on a technical support person to manually create your replacement unlock
code and send it to you. You can have it instantly generated for you and
emailed to you any time, any day. Another new feature we will be offering
through the blindsoftware.com website is a new format for our top ten
scoreboards. The new format will permit you to quickly switch between all
top ten scoreboards for any of our games on one single page.

We will also be changing hosting providers for blindsoftware.com on the week
of March 1, 2011. This means that during the week of March 1, 2011 you may
experience errors sending email to blindsoftware.com or you may experience
errors when trying to view the blindsoftware.com website. You may also
experience errors when trying to post scores to our scoreboard server.
Finally, you may experience intermittently seeing the old blindsoftware.com
website and the new blindsoftware.com website. These temporary
inconveniences are normal because we are changing website hosting providers.
This means it can take upwards of two days for the entire world to become
aware of the new hosting provider's DNS name servers. If you are unfamiliar
with DNS name servers, you can perform a quick google search on the words
DNS name servers. So in short, things will be back to normal towards the end
of the week of March 1, 2011.

Since we are offering these new features through the blindsoftware.com
website, starting on the week of March 1, 2011 we will also be discontinuing
the BSC Games.com website. From now on you will be able to download the
games from www.blindsoftware.com and receive technical support for the games
through www.blindsoftware.com.

Even though the BSC Games.com website will be closing, the BSC Games
products are not being discontinued and will continue to be offered through
the blindsoftware.com website. Again, only the BSC Games.com website is
being discontinued. The main reason for closing the BSC Games.com website is
to simplify operations of the company for us by only having to manage one
website for all products. All BSC Games products will continue to be sold
through blindsoftware.com and technical support will continue to be provided
for the games through blindsoftware.com. The top ten scoreboards for all
games will continue to be available through the blindsoftware.com website.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email us at
supp...@blindsoftware.com but please be aware that the email may be lost
during the transition to our new hosting provider. If you do not get a reply
from us, please email us again towards the end of the week of March 1, 2011.

Thank you for your continued support,

The Blindsoftware.com team.

Re: [Audyssey] Fwd: [GameTalk] BSC Games Merge

2011-02-27 Thread Bryan Peterson
Sounds nice, except that first they need to work on making their games, yes,
even the classic versions, run better on newer Operating Systems. I don't
mean to sound harsh but it's that more than anything that's made me lose
interest in even if not respect for BSC Games over the years. Sad really
since they were the first audio games I ever played if I remember rightly. I
realize those folks are busy with work and life in general, but if they're
hoping to attract newer customers they're eventually going to have to catch
up however they can.
