[Audyssey] Alter Aeon help
Hi, I'm new to Alter Aeon and would love any help you can provide. I have a hard time if I spell a command and it doesn't like it says that command isn't recognized. Okay, What I'm saying is where do I find the client on my computer so I can log in? When I installed it it gave me an option to launch it so I did, and played the game for a bit. Then I signed out. Hi Teresa. If I remember rightly, when you hit an angry acorn, it takes all the stumps around it in a verticle and horizontal pattern, so you need to look at the level and see which ones to take out to give you a path to the goal, assuming I'm not confusing my in game objects sinse while I did try stem stumper and liked the game, I sort of decied it wasn't my thing as I'm not the best person at spacial puzzles when I can't have all elements in front of me with an overview. As I said I at the moment am not sure what to do next, sinse the website is very general but not specific, and once finishing pumpkin town your just sort of dropped off in ankh-morpork and there are no commands like quests where or areas or whatever. [Audyssey] Alter Aeon Leaping Leprechauns!
Our annual Leaping Leprechauns event is now running, with pots of gold out there for everyone to collect, a mob PK arena to compete in, and a special event quest area. You can use the 'show event' command at login to see which events are open when, and how to access them. The event will run until at least Thursday, so everyone will have a chance to grab some treasure. Have fun! Hi dacia. one of the nice things about alter is everything has alternative titles. so drop sleeves would do, and even if your carrying three different sets of sleeves it will ask do you want to drop the 1 point zombie sleeves, the two point chain mail sleeves of the three point leather sleevers. I have a hard time if I spell a command and it doesn't like it says that command isn't recognized. @Josh, Alteraeon is a text game, sighted people play exactly the same way blind people do, accept they read text visually. The most graphics any mud has tends to be ascii maps and those are only for representational purposes, so I suggest you just show your son the game as is, though perhaps with the soundpack for some action :D. [Audyssey] Anyone playing discworld mud
With the sad recent news about Sir Terry's meeting with the reaperman, I thought I ought to investigate this one, just because it's always been long running and is a game that has always had notes on it's vi access despite some very huge areas, and I do want to investigate some more muds for the db sinse thus far we don't really have many, although several do have very good customizations for Vi players. I did find some handy resources on their wiki although thus far I've not experienced much as I've only just finished the newbie area (I took the time to get the most out of it), I'm not even sure which class I want, witch looks interesting in terms of abilities and activities though apparently levelling combat as a witch is harder. So, does anyone else play discworld? the only thing that is a tad annoying at the moment is the need to type hole words and get pretty exact strings. So when I was trying to find a shortsword in a shop, I couldn't type list short or list sword. On the plus side, the writing and atmosphere is great, even in the newbie village, and I'm highly impresse at the amount of interactable objects, for example in the first room there is a cot, and I couldn't just examine the cot and lie on it, but examine the blanket and the pillow as well. So it seems the descriptive part has been very well done. whether I'll end up getting lost in Ankh-morpork we'll see :D. David, speedwalk is one of those things that's part of the client - it'll usually have a menu option to enable or disable it. Since it's a mobile client, I'm not sure where it would be, and it's possible the client doesn't even have one. Once you get in the game, I believe you can use the 'hardreturn' command to change the way the mud sends data - that might make the client read more accurately without having to click on the previous text. [Audyssey] Close-quarter fight in 3d vilocity?
Hi all, I've red the readme file on the site, and was just curious about a new feature that is added. So yes, I am looking for an info that can be a spoiler even before trying it out, but still... The new feature unables you to get into a close-quarter fight with someone. I just wanted to ask, is it at the end with Brutus, or fights can occur somewhere else? I ask also because there is written that you will have to fight some characters, so as it is written in plural, I wonder whom do you have to fight? Thanks to all in advance, and best regards! Dacia, One of the best things to remember about commands is that most command words, spellwords, and item keywords can be abbreviated. For example, you can type in this command: drop zombie sleeves Or, you could type in this much shorter command: dr zombie Or even: dr zom In general, you can abbreviate item keywords down to just three letters - so when dropping the zombie sleeves, 'zom' will still match the item. Hi ian. Well I got through the newbie area and went to ankh-morpork, but then wasn't sure what there was to do, indeed it sort of got a little on my whick that all the mud resources told in general terms that there was smithing and crafting and fighting and this and that but not how to do anything, so i just wandered the streets of ankh-morpork for a while. I actually don't think it's too bad a city to navigate sinse your always told the names of the main roads, albeit I haven't yet found anywhere that's interesting to go. I do really also miss abbreviations, sinse it's something other muds have but discworld doesn't, and having to type out open rusty iron door can be urcsome. I'll probably take a more complete look at the wiki and look for something to do, though to be honestI ended up loading up clok again and having more fun with that (I am now trinica on there sinse my original name was a little silly and had dark in it).
