Re: [hlds_linux] Counter-Strike: Source Update Available
Detouring the call to CCSGameStats::UploadRoundStats(void) inside of CCSGameStats::FireGameEvent(IGameEvent *) shows that it's still being called even with that cvar set to 1, and blocking the call entirely fixes the lag again. I still have the problem on all my servers, with sv_noroundstats 0. Here is the console log. ROUND STAT DEBUG UploadRoundStats completed. 33.390 msec. The specific changes include: Counter-Strike: Source - Made stats reporting less verbose in an effort to reduce server hitches at round end - Added a server convar "sv_noroundstats" for server admin to turn off stats reporting if the server is hitching at round end. This shouldn't be necessary since the stats have been made less verbose. Please leave stats enabled unless you are seeing hitches. If you are getting hitches at round end, I'd appreciate if you turn on sv_debugroundstats and send me the console output after one of the end-round hitches. Re: [hlds_linux] Counter-Strike: Source Update Available
Why add UTF-8 support to console but not into the in-game chat? Due to lack of this, Eventscripts is still somewhat broken. -ics 23.7.2010 23:55, Jason Ruymen kirjoitti: A required update for Counter-Strike: Source is now available. The specific changes include: - Added Steam Clan Tag support ( Set yours in Options->Multiplayer->Advanced ) - Added new achievement "CLAN WARFARE": Win a match of at least 10 players where the entirety of each team is composed of a single clan. - All weapon fire rates now tuned to match their pre-update, tickrate 100 equivalents. (http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1368659) - Added automatic server tagging for some server convars ( "mp_startmoney", "mp_friendlyfire", "bot_quota", "sv_nostats", "sv_allowminmodels" ) - Fixed some issues for players who were experiencing stat corruption. - Fixed several server crash exploits. - Fixed server commands "sv_disablefreezecam" and "sv_nowinpanel" not working on dedicated servers. - Adjusted some DX9 shaders to look more like their DX8 counterparts, e.g. flashbang effect. - Community Requests: - Fixed entity I/O messages "OnPlayerPickup" and "OnPlayerUse". - Restored UTF-8 support in the console. - Added env_hudhint entity, for use in custom maps (The allplayers flag must be set for the hint to work in Counter-Strike.) - Added client convar "sv_hudhint_sound" to turn off emit sound for hud hints. - Restored the "cl_minmodels" client convar. - Added server convar "sv_allowminmodels" that allows them to prevent clients from using "cl_minmodels". - Added a button to Options->Multiplayer that allows players to reset their in-game stats. - Note: Due to the nature of stats corruption, it is not possible to automatically fix all types of stats (such as weapon statistics reflecting usage of the wrong weapon). Players who suspect their stats are incorrect and wish to start fresh may want to use the new stat reset feature. Why was srcds_run script removed? now my servers won't auto-restart. And it broke my server's startup scripts too, so i made a workaround doing a symbolic link from srcds_linux to srcds_run, but hldsupdatetool keeps deleting srcds_run. Anyone is experiencing this? -Rodrigo Pegna El 06-07-2010 18:30, Jason Ruymen escribió: > An optional update for Counter-Strike: Source is now available. Re: [hlds_linux] Counter-Strike: Source Update Available
I'm also curious why cl_minmodels was removed? For example countless of servers use custom counter-strike source models server-side and the people who do not want to see them, have been adviced to turn cl_minmodels 1, if they do not want to see them. Now this is gone, many players will be unhappy. -ics 7.7.2010 4:47, Andy Giesen kirjoitti: > First of all... > > - Removed functionality of cl_minmodels. > > Why?! > > Second, I'm enjoying random achievements such as Italy Map Veteran > while playing Office. > > Good work. > > On Tue, Jul 6, 2010 at 3:30 PM, Jason Ruymen wrote: > >> An optional update for Counter-Strike: Source is now available. Hmm, this appears to have not been posted on hlds_announce. Can anyone confirm because it could just be my phone not receiving the email. Re: [hlds_linux] Counter-Strike: Source Update Available
First of all... - Removed functionality of cl_minmodels. Why?! Second, I'm enjoying random achievements such as Italy Map Veteran while playing Office. Good work. Thanks to Valve! *thumps up* Thank you that you are giving your attention to CS:S! -Ursprüngliche Nachricht- Von: hlds_linux-boun...@list.valvesoftware.com [mailto:hlds_linux-boun...@list.valvesoftware.com] Im Auftrag von Jason Ruymen Gesendet: Mittwoch, 23. Juni 2010 20:53 An: 'Half-Life dedicated Linux server mailing list'; 'h...@list.valvesoftware.com'; 'hlds_annou...@list.valvesoftware.com' Betreff: [hlds_linux] Counter-Strike: Source Update Available A required update for Counter-Strike: Source has been updated. Please run hldsupdatetool to receive the updates. The major changes include: UI: - Added the following cvars to allow players to customize their scoreboards. - cl_scoreboard_ct_color_red - cl_scoreboard_ct_color_green - cl_scoreboard_ct_color_blue - cl_scoreboard_t_color_red - cl_scoreboard_t_color_green - cl_scoreboard_t_color_blue - cl_scoreboard_dead_color_red - cl_scoreboard_dead_color_green - cl_scoreboard_dead_color_blue - Changed the screen that appears when the message of the day fails to load to display proper error text. - Made the CT silhouette for the auto-select option in the Choose a Class screen smaller and corrected its aspect ratio. - Addressed a problem that occasionally caused characters to be colored incorrectly on the Change a Class screen. Gameplay: - Made ladders easier to climb. Added cvars sv_ladder_dampen and sv_ladder_angle. - Fixed issue that awarded three points when the bomb explodes after the round ends by elimination criteria instead. - Fixed issue in which you weren't given credit for grenade damage if you fired a weapon at someone then hit them with a grenade (in that order). Also fixed problem in which grenading a player and then killing them with another weapon showed as '*** in 1' on console. - There's now a priority order for displaying win conditions when multiple win conditions are set. - If timelimit exists and is not 0, then show timelimit. - If timelimit does not exist, show maxrounds if not 0. - If both timelimit and maxrounds are 0, show winlimit. - If timelimit, maxrounds, and winlimit are all 0, show nothing. - Added a cvar to ignore win conditions: mp_ignore_round_win_conditions. General: - Disallowed the use of arbitrary command strings for the message of the day screen. Now only a specific list of commands is allowed. - Addressed issue in which AWPs and Scouts sometimes did not make the zooming sound. - cvar mat_showlowresimage is now a cheat command. - Many development console commands which would crash the server removed. - Updated source engine addresses many issues: - Better flashlight effect - Better HDR behavior - Multicore rendering support - Added sv_disablefreezecam cvar to turn off the freezecam on a server. - Added sv_nonemesis cvar to turn off domination/revenge on a server. - Added sv_nomvp cvar to turn off MVP stars on a server. - Added sv_nostats cvar to turn off stats on a server. - Removed -tickrate command line option and defaulted tick rate to 66 rather than 33. This addressed a number of issues, including: - Tick rate affecting how fast doors open / close - Tick rate causing players hitting the ground to stutter - Tick rate affecting the firing mechanisms of certain guns Jason ___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux ___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux
Re: [hlds_linux] Counter-Strike: Source Update Available
They could have fixed all of this with just restricting download for files only in the *downloadables* stringtable, and upload strictly less than *1MB*, one per steam ID, only allow *VTF*s and only to the *downloads* folder. Stupid patches. Thanks, - Saul. Re: [hlds_linux] Counter-Strike: Source Update Available
Than for the sake of security, you should remove -debug from your command line until Valve gets this actually sorted out. These half assed patches will not cut it anymore. Kyle. Re: [hlds_linux] Counter-Strike: Source Update Available
As I just said, if a server has ever crashed (very likely), then there's a * debug.log* with the command-line in it. From that you would see *+exec lulz.cfg*. Even a console log will do... Thanks, - Saul. On 3 February 2010 16:50, Kyle Sanderson wrote: > Should probably continue talking about this in the other topic, however I > believe .cfg files have been already blacklisted. Should probably continue talking about this in the other topic, however I believe .cfg files have been already blacklisted. If I'm wrong though, I can't believe how useless this update would be. To protect yourself from attacks all you need to do is firewall off your Rcon port and set every folder read only besides your logs, downloads, and local database dirs. To prevent downloads however the only real thing you can do is rename server.cfg to lulz.cfg and add +exec lulz.cfg to your startup line. (Don't use lulz, try some completely random file name). Thanks. The release notes he posted did not mention .cfg files. I considered that the "GCF" could be a typo, but it wouldn't be a leap of faith to think it was not. Confirmed hanging here. Gentoo Linux for what it's worth, was working fine the night before, then our scripts did a sourceDS update and reboot, and now all four servers hang on bootup. Will be happy to provide any information needed for resolution. On Tue, Feb 2, 2010 at 7:19 AM, Keeper wrote: > At least stop releasing updates on your way out the door to go home. Re: [hlds_linux] Counter-Strike: Source Update Available
I agree. Its impossible for Valve to test every update on every platform. Almost every other software company allows you to use a beta or release candidate before the official version comes out. I am actually typing this on Office Outlook 2010 Beta currently. My server group runs a 'beta testing' server, where we test out plugins before they make it to our main servers. I would gladly add a -beta to the startup line and update it when beta release become available to see what impacts it has on our servers. I know this is about CSS Update, but my experience is with TF2 servers. One thing I am sure the beta testing phase could have caught would have been Natasha going limp every other update. Untill Valve issues a fix, only thing you need is to replace the bin folder content with old files (it's located next to your cstrike folder.) Then again, if you do not have the old files anymore, that might be a problem. -ics 2.2.2010 12:46, Saint K. kirjoitti: > Confirmed here as well. :( > > -Original Message- > From: hlds_linux-boun...@list.valvesoftware.com > [mailto:hlds_linux-boun...@list.valvesoftware.com] On Behalf Of Ronny Schedel > Sent: Tuesday, February 02, 2010 8:34 AM > To: Half-Life dedicated Linux server mailing list > Subject: Re: [hlds_linux] Counter-Strike: Source Update Available > > Server hang after the line: > > appdatacache.cpp (311) : Assertion Failed: !"Implement me" > > Last strace lines: > > gettimeofday({1265095451, 776923}, NULL) = 0 > clock_gettime(CLOCK_REALTIME, {1265095451, 776996236}) = 0 > futex(0x98b6c84, FUTEX_WAIT_PRIVATE, 1, {179, 26764}) > > Please fix it! > > > >> Updates to Counter-Strike: Source are now available. Re: [hlds_linux] Counter-Strike: Source Update Available
It's a tool used to prepare engine files for allowing "no-steam" programs/emulators to run within SRCDS. I don't use it anymore as my community is now strong, but that's the only backup I had at the time. Since I made that post multiple game server owners have come forward offering 100% unmodified engine files. As of now I believe there are three mirrors available. Cheers, Kyle. Re: [hlds_linux] Counter-Strike: Source Update Available
I think CS is at bug and exploit fixes only status. Im sure they wont make any CS2 without working hard on meeting the communities high expectations on it. I would say their current projects of EP3 and Portal 2 along with L4D2 are taking up all of their resources. I would suspect CS2 in a few years but not in the near future. I wouldnt be surprised if they box it with EP3 and Portal 2 like TF2 was. 2009/8/25 LocutusH > Lol, finally an update after years, and all the linux servers are down > again :D > > What if you guys dont touch CS:S anymore? Re: [hlds_linux] Counter-Strike: Source Update Available
If you are loading metamod through gameinfo.txt, you need to add the line back into it as the update overwrites gameinfo.txt. I just updated my servers and metamod(along with mani etc) started up just fine. --Chris -Original Message- From: hlds_linux-boun...@list.valvesoftware.com [mailto:hlds_linux-boun...@list.valvesoftware.com] On Behalf Of Guy Watkins Sent: Thursday, January 29, 2009 4:46 PM To: 'Half-Life dedicated Linux server mailing list'; 'Half-Life dedicated Win32 server mailing list'; hlds_annou...@list.valvesoftware.com Subject: Re: [hlds_linux] Counter-Strike: Source Update Available This update seems to have broken metamod. Re: [hlds_linux] Counter-Strike: Source Update Available
This update seems to have broken metamod. I also have mani and zombie mod. They did not load because they depend on metamod. But Mattie's EventScripts plugin still loads. I know I need to go to the metamod site to find the fix. I don't want you to see me cry, so bye.
