Rekan-rekan semuanya, mohon dijawab ASAP, butuh banget: Gimana ya caranya reinstall tcp/ip di windows 2000 dan memaksa windowsnya baca/install file2 tcp/ip dari cd windows 2000. Klo sekedar hapus dan install lagi di bagian network, kan filenya tetap pakai file lama yg di harddisk. Saya curiganya, ada file2 tcpip di harddisk bermasalah jadi perlu baca/install dari cd nya. wah rumit juga..karena mesti setting TCP IP biar komp yang DOS based itub bisa connect dengan Win2k Servernya Friends, Kebetulan saya sedang menghandle kerjaan menggantikan server Novell dengan windows 2000, namun ada satu aplikasi clipper yang harus jalan. Nah, aplikasi ini diakses oleh komputer pentium 1 200 Mhz sebanyak 4 bijix. Dan yang punya kerjaan nggak mau ngeluwarin ongkos untuk upgrade pokoknya Pentium 200 tsb harus jalan aplikasi clippernya... Kondisinya tidak mau install window 95 atau windows 98, tapi MSDOS cukup. diharapkan dengan disket saja sudah run... Bagaimana membuat NetBIOS di Windows 2000 bisa diakses oleh MSDOS, jadi, seperti novell setiap login dia bisa bikin drive F: yang sesungguhnya drive F ini berada di server. Jadi, saat melihat attachment, handheld device akan download potongan yang pertama; bila kita ingin melihat potongan selanjutnya, device akan mendownload potongan #2, dst (setting ini bisa dibuat otomatis, yaitu saat kita scroll down sampai akhir potongan yang telah di-download sebelumnya). Fitur ini yang cukup membuatnya unique. Oleh sebab itu jika anda perusahaan Anda ingin berlngganan blackberry pastikan bandwith nya minimal 128 Kbps dedicated. Tidak jelas maksud Anda. Seseorang bisa berlangganan Blackberry tanpa harus mempunyai koneksi Internet yang Anda utarakan, bahkan dial-up pun bisa. Seperti yang sebelumnya saya kemukakan, Blackberry juga bisa mengambil e-mail account personal (misalnya dari YahooMail dll) Btw email yang ukuran 30MB bisa sampai lho ke bberry asalkan bandwith-nya mas harsu tinggi... Hmm, bila Anda menggunakan Blackberry Web Client, ingat bahwa kapasitas mailbox di provider Blackberry (misalnya StarHub) terbatas (dulunya 10MB dan sekarang 25MB). Sedangkan pada Blackberry Enterprise Server, batasan ada pada spesifikasi Server perusahaan. Jadi pendapat Anda ini tidak bisa berlaku pada semua layanan Blackberry. Linux juga hanya berkutat untuk mengejar ketinggalannya terhadap Windows Desktop dengan kecepatan tinggi. Pertanyaannya adalah mengapa masih berpikir ala Gates ? [Komputer ada di rumah rumah] Dimana pemikiran ini adalah hanya mempercanggih komputer di rumah rumah (yaitu komputer desktop). Memang Sudah ada Layanan layanan di Cyber, tapi masih dengan susah payah dan repot harus di execute dari rumah rumah ( termasuk kantor tentunya). Mengapa tidak ada pemikiran untuk pendelegasian pekerjaan, sehingga terminal terminal tidak perlu canggih. Ingat, saat ini kita masih harus melakukan pencarian ke internet langsung untuk mencari informasi, ataupun untuk melakukan auction, pembelian, penjualan. Pada saat itu harus juga ada orang lain di belahan dunia yang lain atau di sisi yang lain. Sangat merepotkan proses pekerjaan ini. Padahal kita telah mengenal apa itu AGENT. Mengapa tidak ada / jarang yang berpikir bahwa intelligent agent tersebut bisa melakukan perkerjaan kita? Mengapa belum ada yang membangun Platform khusus untuk AGENT ? Cobalah kita membayangkan suatu AGENT kita delegasikan pekerjaan kita, kita kirim lewat terminal sederhana, tidak perlu secanggih Desktop saat ini, mungkin hanya OS pada Handphone kita. Kita upload AGENT ini untuk berkolaborasi dengan AGENT lainnya, dan bekerja mewakili kita di Cyber. Selanjutnya kita tinggal menunggu dalam waktu tertentu. Bukankah hal ini lebih menghemat kita dalam berlayar di duia maya? Berapa waktu bisa di hemat? Kita jarang berpikir tentang suatu Platform atau Protokol masa depan, bahkan bangsa ini hanya menghasilkan sedikit karya protokol, yang orang jarang mengetahuinya, sehingga pemanfaatannya ke masyarakat luas kurang. Kita masih mementingkan perut kita sendiri daripada membangun negeri ini untuk melakukan penelitian, karena biasanya hasil penelitian hanya untuk memperkaya lembaga atau orang itu. Mengapa tidak mengambil cara pandang suatu community yang mengatakan Knowledge is belong to everyone [ or human being] ? Lihatlah perkembangan teknologi Microsoft, yang hanya berpikir tradisional, konputer ada di semua rumah? Atau juga pemikiran jamannya Marc Andressen – Mosaic, yang hanya berpikir melihat dokumen di dunia maya dengan tampilan bagus? Atau juga pemikiran tentang object terdistribusi yang menjadi Layanan – layanan dunia maya? Ayo bangkitlah SDM IT kita membangun negeri ini dengan terobosan yang belom dipikirkan Gates [karena Gates itu sebenarnya bisa besar dengan model kulakannya]. Apakah dengan mengembangkan model mirip community Knowledge is belong to everyone kita masih trauma dengan era Sosialis jaman 1965, meskipun banyak teori sosialis menentang Karl Max? Beratkah untuk mengambangakan sistem yang sama sekali baru ? Dengan stateless thin client, yang perlu anda proteksi hanya server saja, client mau mati juga terserah, karena kerjannya cuman viewer saja. Saya perhatikan antara 5 sampai 10 menit UPS tsb bertahan, tergantung merk UPS-nya. Ada yg ICA, ada yg APC. Baterai-nya kaga rusak koq, buktinya pas jam kerja, klo tiba2 mati lampu, UPS tsb masih bisa handle kompie yg sedang nyala, kira2 antara 5 sampai 10 menit. Rentang waktu 5 sampai 10 menit tsb dgn kompie menyala, klo kompie-nya mati saya blom pernah perhatikan berapa lama UPS tsb bisa bertahan. Oh yah, solusi dari temen temen lain untuk memakai thin client yang stateless mungkin ada baiknya ada pikirkan secara serius. Dengan stateless thin client, yang perlu anda proteksi hanya server saja, client mau mati juga terserah, karena kerjannya cuman viewer saja. Jadi sewaktu listrik mati yang supply UPS maka UPS memerintahkan untuk shutdown server dan kemudian mematikan diri sendiri (UPS). Terus UPS apa yang bagus untuk teknik seperti itu. Mas Bagus, Rasanya bukan hanya perlu penguasaan piranti open source-nya. Saya pikir yang paling susah adalah mental dari orang Indonesia. Misalnya, banyak peneliti (kalau bicara perguruan tinggi dan lembaga penelitian) tidak mau berbagi hasil penelitian secara online. Saya bilang tidak mau karena mereka sangat ketinggalan dalam menggunakan internet. Coba saja masuk ke website mereka. Menguasai teknologinya saya pikir lebih mudah dibandingkan mengubah mental menjadi mental yang sadar akan pentingnya menguasai teknolog dan memanfaatkan teknologi itu. Kalo boleh nambahin, mentalitas penghargaan terhadap karya orang lain juga. Open Source / Freeware what ever lah... setelah menikmati dapet keuntungan apa mau ngasih donasi? Dear all, kira2 ada yg bisa nerangin gak ato alasan apa yg membuat Harddisk SCSI itu kapasitasnya koq ganjil2 (misal : 9GB, 17GB, 36GB, 73GB, dst)? ngga spt ATA or SATA yg genap2 (misal : 20GB, 40GB, 80GB, dst) apa karena teknologi SCSI itu ngga bisa bikin genap ato bagemana? ato itu karena teknik pemasaran aja yg dibuat unik spt itu? maksudnya jadi laen daripd yg laen gitu, udah guglink tapi ngga ada jawaban yg bs dimengerti n ga nyambung dgn yg saya cari.
