That is doubtful to be the cause of your problem. It might be in your best
interest to upgrade your browser. For example my wife goes to the USA
network home page once in a while and it gives her some issues because she
is running IE 8 on an XP system at least for now. It is being considered to
be upgrade to windows 7 in the near future.

Hello all, it seems in the past month or two there are websites I used to be
able to navigate around as far as shopping and such. Now it seems when I go
to activate a order button it does nothing at all. Also when filling in a
form say to create a new account and the form field is on, it won't read
what I typed in or things are getting put in the wrong places etc. I
certainly have had the experience of a website updating their website and
so-called improving it to my detriment

As far as accessibility is concerned, but I just wondered if when there is
a windows update does that ever mess with jaws and its capability to handle
these things? I have Windows 7, and IE 8. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't say the browser is the whole problem, because I am still
getting sites telling me to upgrade to a higher browser. That is a
web site issue, because I do run IE 10 and they stated that for IE 8
and 9. So that proves not the browser..

Yes, windows updates can and have messed with jaws. That has ben
proven with bulletins on the Freedom Scientific support for jaws.
I would have to say they updated the site and jaws don't handle it as
well. I am finding that out with a lot of sites.
Most of the web bugs should be fixed in j15 or maybe not like the
copy and paste issue or the task tray showing but always giving info
for it and not what you pick. More interested in those useless bells
and whistles.

Re: [JAWS-Users] what to do after the cmd prompt

2013-07-09 Thread tim
You can get to CMD by typing that in the search box. Just type,
because the command prompt line is what you start on. Remember using
CMD is like old dos.
However, I remember you wanted to do wireless? The below is for a
wired connection and doubt if that is the problem. One problem is to
many chiefs and not a clear thinking Indian.
When you bring up that task tray with insert f11 does it even show
something for connections?

After getting to the command prompt, or cmd, type in the following
words one line at a time, hitting enter and then waiting for the
response. You must hit enter/return key after each line of words.

1st line
ipconfig \release
2nd line
ipconfig \renew
3rd line
ipconfig
4th line
exit

Then try to go to the Internet. Let me know if this works.

these directions really have nothing to do with my wireless connection,
which I didn't mention, but they're because even when I'm hooked up to my
cable/internet modem, I still can't access the internet, as it did at my

[JAWS-Users] JAWS 15

2013-07-09 Thread Josh Eubank

List,

Does anyone know if there are any archived recordings of Eric Damery
discussing JAWS 15? I know that sometimes, the presentations are posted.
However, I have not been able to find any. I am particularly interested
in hearing a demonstration of the new generation of Vocalizer voices
that I hear are coming in JAWS 15. Thanks for any help.

Re: [JAWS-Users] PDF reader.

2013-07-09 Thread Flor Lynch

AbbYy FineReader will convert from pdf into HTML, and I think ScanSoft
OmniPage will also. (They are paid for, and are OCR applications.) Much
depends on the type and structure of the pdf you regularly will be
reading, as to which reader may be the best for you. The free Adobe
reader does a good job with well-structured pdf's; but pdf's differ
enormously in how they were put together. Some pdf's are comprised
largely of images of text rather than text itself, meaning that for us
an OCR programme will be required to convert them. The programs I've
named work with JAWS.

Hello Group:

I am an occasional Facebook user, though even with my basic knowledge of
this site, it seems that even sending a message has become more difficult.
Just some minutes ago, in attempting to respond to a friend request with a
short message, I was in a window that says: chat Conversation start--Chat
Conversation end, choose an emoticon. It would appear that I am in a Chat
window.

What I really need is a brief tutorial which includes some hotkeys or
keystrokes that would allow me to use Facebook more effectively and
efficiently.

Any help would be appreciated.

Best,

Lenny, you might want to explore Guru Aid at:

Phone: 1-855-575-5140
They have plans for 1, 2 and 3 years. Yes, the technitions are in India but
are easy to understand their speech. After you tell them what your problem
is, you communicate with them by text streaming. I have had them do very
complicated tasks, and have the same problem several times. Not their fault.
The only problem is that you have to have an internet connection, so perhaps
this suggestion is for naught. Sorry if that's the case.
