Re: [JAWS-Users] windows defender vs. super antivirus Mywarebytes Rules...

2013-09-16 Thread Jorge Rivas
Hello,
Well, to really activate Mywarebytes Pro you have to pay first..
Then run it and it should say, Mywarebytes Pro, press the tab key to navigate.
Press tab to scan, press the space bar.
Press tab for Full scan or arrow to quick or flash scan.
Press the space bar.

Then, leave it alone, the first couple scans will run about a hour and in time
it will be less.

When the scan is done, press space bar to show results.
Tab twice to show results again.
Tab to remove all infected objected objects, press the space bar.

The Mywarebytes report will start to read, press the shift + tab to bring you
back to the OK button on removing all infected objects and press the space bar.

Press the shift +tab to cycle you back to the Mywarebytes report tex.txt
document.

Use your down arrow to read the report.

You will be surprise on all the problems in your computer Mywarebytes picked up.

When done viewing the report you can save the report to my documents or press
alt + F4 twice to close Mywarebytes.

That exit menu sucks and when closes it makes you feel like if you did
something wrong.

It's better to use alt + F4.

Enjoy, this is a great product.

Hi George and all,

To download the most current version of Malwarebytes please click for access
to my Dropbox folder:

You can also simply click on the following link and download for yourselves.
Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Free:
http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free/

When the webpage loads simply press the #1 on the number row 4 times to find
the following level 1 heading: "Free." Press enter on the "Download now"
link right under this heading. You will be taken to a page with the
following title: Malwarebytes Anti-Malware - CNET Download.com. Simply down
arrow to the following text:
Welcome Malwarebytes Anti-Malware users. To complete your download, click on
the link below:
Combo box English
Download now link
Note: the actual file you will be downloading is named
"mbam-setup-1.75.0.1300.exe."

Total Downloads:121,439,617
Date Added:April 09, 2013

I just completed this downloading process and it is safe. .

Don't forget that This is the free version, so if you want to make sure it
stays the free version, when installing, you might be asked if you want to
try the Pro version. I say go ahead and try it, because if you don't want to
pay for it, the Malwarebytes Pro version will revert to a 15-day trial
anyways. If you don't want to bother with the Pro version then simply choose
the free version.

Let me know if you have any problems or further questions! .

Regarding your statements below, if you mean that downloading the free
version of Malwarebytes takes you to a CNet download page, well, this is how
this process works. It seems a bit invasive, but I assure you it is not;
especially since you are taken from the Malwarebytes website to the CNet

Hi Scott,

A great product that integrates with Microsoft Word and is accessible
and easy to use is ABBYY Fine Reader Professional edition, currently at 50%
off at only 85 dollars.

It's a great product, and works very well with Word, and creates multiple
formats, including PDF, HTML, and exports to Word.

The Fine Reader Engine is really good, and really accurate.

If you Google it, the first hit is ABBYY's web page.

I'm unsure if they have a personal edition, so you may want to contact them
for more information, or if they have any sales going on at the moment that
I am not aware of.

$100.

If you already have JAWS, you don't really need a self voicing program
like Kurzweil or OpenBook.

I would really be interested to know if anyone is using this.

[JAWS-Users] Dropbox Update

2013-09-16 Thread Trish
What do they say...third times the charm? lol.

I have figured out why that drop box is now in the context menu, because my
drop box version has reverted back to, 2.013 from 2.026.

I actually made this happen on the drop box web site, I did not uninstall
it, but under settings there's a checkbox for like reverting back to other
versions. I checked that this morning trying to figure out why this public
folder wouldn't let me copy a link within that folder.
I had noticed that on my iPhone, the version was this one while the 2
computers both had the other version 2.026, now they all have the 2.013 and
the menu choice to copy a link is again where it's suppose to be.

I've tested it today, it all works great.

Well, I don't really feel it is necessary. Often it takes mere seconds
for a
webpage to load even on those Wikipedia articles with 1500 links. If
you
press enter on a link, and if you wait long enough, Jaws will inform
you of
the amount of links and related information as well as regions and
such.
Jaws will then begin reading the information on the webpage, which one
can
use to infer that the page has finished loading. Again, all of this
takes
seconds--that is if the webpage doesn't have all kinds of Java and
tons of
other stuff going on. I will add that I don't know your intended uses,
so of

course you will feel differently about this process. .

Haven't tried in a long time, but it used to be pretty much impossible
because, for one thing, there was a CAPTCHA, and for another, you were
only given two minutes to complete your transaction. Since then, there
were structured negotiations that took place between the blindness

I haven't tried the site in a long time, so don't know how well they
were addressed, but if there are continuing issues, they should be
noted, so the info can be passed on to the concerned parties.

I just completed this downloading process and it is safe. .

Don't forget that This is the free version, so if you want to make sure it
stays the free version, when installing, you might be asked if you want to
try the Pro version. I say go ahead and try it, because if you don't want
to

choose

the free version.

[JAWS-Users] JFW 15 installation issues

2013-09-16 Thread Cristóbal
Hello list,

So I took the plunge with the beta over the weekend and had the oddest
experience that I hadn’t encountered with previous JFW beta cycles. I
already submitted a bug report to FS, but since this bug doesn’t really
allow me to work with the beta, I was curious to know if this is something
others have come across or if it was perhaps something that went wrong just
on my system.

In any event, I downloaded the exe file (64 bit) and went through the
process of instalation like normal. At the end doing the whole restart for
changes to take affect etc…

After this was done and my computer powered back up, there was no indication
of Jaws 15 anywhere on my desktop or in the start menu. The FSReader 3.0
icon did appear on my desktop and indeed launched fine so this showed me
that something was installed. I eventually went through the windows
explorer, Program Files, Freedom scientific, Run Jaws and then to the Jaws
15 folder. There I found the JFW 15 exe file and figured I would just for
convenience sake throw a short cut to the file on my desktop.

After placing the JFW.exe short cut and renaming it for Jaws 15, I unloaded
JFW 14 and started JFW 15. However, while using the JFW 15 beta, I am
finding that the settings I change in the voice profile section aren’t
sticking. Even though I speed up the rate of speech and press the ok button,
Jaws reverts to its default slow rate setting. I also tried the startup
wizard under the help menu, but it along with the check for authorization
and check for updates options appear as unavailable.

Like I said, I already submitted these problems through the beta form, but
since there’s no real option to call it in and get more detailed support, I
thought I’d write to see if others dealt with these same issues and what if
anything they did to fix them since as of now, I can’t really work with JFW
15 and don’t know if this issue will persist through to when it finally gets
released in its final form.

Thanks,

Hello list,

So I took the plunge with the beta over the weekend and had the oddest
experience that I hadn't encountered with previous JFW beta cycles. I
already submitted a bug report to FS, but since this bug doesn't really
allow me to work with the beta, I was curious to know if this is something
others have come across or if it was perhaps something that went wrong just
on my system.

In any event, I downloaded the exe file (64 bit) and went through the
process of instalation like normal. At the end doing the whole restart for
changes to take affect etc.

However, while using the JFW 15 beta, I am
finding that the settings I change in the voice profile section aren't
sticking. Even though I speed up the rate of speech and press the ok button,
Jaws reverts to its default slow rate setting. I also tried the startup
wizard under the help menu, but it along with the check for authorization
and check for updates options appear as unavailable.

Like I said, I already submitted these problems through the beta form, but
since there's no real option to call it in and get more detailed support, I
thought I'd write to see if others dealt with these same issues and what if
anything they did to fix them since as of now, I can't really work with JFW
15 and don't know if this issue will persist through to when it finally gets
released in its final form.

When the webpage loads simply press the #1 on the number row 4 times to find
the following level 1 heading: "Free." Press enter on the "Download now"

following title: Malwarebytes Anti-Malware - CNET Download.com. Simply down

Hi George,

Regarding your statements below, if you mean that downloading the free
version of Malwarebytes takes you to a CNet download page, well, this is how
this process works. It seems a bit invasive, but I assure you it is not;
especially since you are taken from the Malwarebytes website to the CNet
download page. If you'd like I can download the Malwarebytes trial and
Dropbox it to you. You can also try installing a copy of your Malwarebytes
Pro on a second machine. I believe Malwarebytes allows for this as I've only
Purchased a single license and have installed the pro version on 3
computers. I'm assuming if I were doing something wrong I would be asked for
a second and third license key but the process completes problem free. The
worst that can happen is that the install won't go through.

I'm still figuring out IE 9 or 10, honestly I can't tell them apart other
than the fact I can't login to my router with IE 10. So one system had to be
reverted to IE 9. Why you might ask, my answer is you'll know when I do.

Hi,
I had a somewhat similar issue when installing the JAWS 14 beta. I went
through the installation process, which appeared to go fine, and, when I was
done, no JAWS 14 anywhere. I just reinstalled it and everything was fine.
I have had no issues with the JAWS 15 beta.

Yes, I figured it had to be something isolated to my system since I hadn't

Hello,

I have read your account and the installation did not work as expected. I
suggest you consider contacting support and asking for some assistance
sorting out the installation issue. I think that it never completed as
expected. There are two options that the support people will probably
suggest. Either looking to see if it is installed and then uninstalling, or
doing a special install from the command line that would force and
over-write of everything in the JAWS 15 install you have. We have not been

Subject: [JAWS-Users] JFW 15 installation issues

However, while using the JFW 15 beta, I am
finding that the settings I change in the voice profile section aren't

Thanks,

However only on my windows 7 laptop, when I put item in the public folder

Please can anyone help me figure this out? I really need to be able to copy

This is a windows 7 lap top and it works perfectly here. Focus on the file,
hip your applications key. Then arrow down to drop box or just hit the
letter D. Right arrow and then up arrow.

REcently I updated drop box on 3 devices. All 3 devices are linked and each
shows same folders/files.
However only on my windows 7 laptop, when I put item in the public folder
and then press the applications key to copy public link, I get no such
option within the context menu. I checked it on my desktop running xp, the
copy public link was in the list through the applications key, but it is not
showing through applications key on window's 7 laptop.
Please can anyone help me figure this out? I really need to be able to copy
links from within this particular folder.

Thanks,

I do not believe it is essential one upgrade, right? I mean, Dropbox doesn't
force the upgrade, correct? If this is the case, then I don't feel users
have to upgrade just because everyone else is upgrading. There probably
isn't any great feature to be gained, so I wouldn't fix something that ain't

Re: [JAWS-Users] loading of webpages with jaws 15

2013-09-16 Thread Joseph FreeTech
Well, I often fire up my trusty ol netbook for this or that, and the slowest
part of my netbook is loading some webpages in Internet Explorer 10. Even
then I don't feel I need jaws informing me of webpage loading status. After
having loaded tons and tons of web pages, I know what to expect, so anything
beyond that is a bit redundant. I also notice that if the page is taking a
bit of time to load, a simple press of the down arrow will inform me of what
is going on since this will repeat the same line if the page has not
completed loading itself. .

We have not been
getting any reports of installation issues as you describe so I'm certain
that this is something we just need to help you sort out.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] JFW 15 installation issues

However, while using the JFW 15 beta, I am
finding that the settings I change in the voice profile section aren't

Thanks,

Re: [JAWS-Users] JFW 15 installation issues

2013-09-16 Thread Eric Damery
Hello,

I have read your account and the installation did not work as expected. I
suggest you consider contacting support and asking for some assistance sorting
out the installation issue. I think that it never completed as expected. There
are two options that the support people will probably suggest. Either looking
to see if it is installed and then uninstalling, or doing a special install
from the command line that would force and over-write of everything in the JAWS
15 install you have. We have not been getting any reports of installation
issues as you describe so I'm certain that this is something we just need to
help you sort out.

Regards,
Eric Damery

Subject: [JAWS-Users] JFW 15 installation issues

Hello list,

So I took the plunge with the beta over the weekend and had the oddest
experience that I hadn't encountered with previous JFW beta cycles. I already
submitted a bug report to FS, but since this bug doesn't really allow me to
work with the beta, I was curious to know if this is something others have come
across or if it was perhaps something that went wrong just on my system.

In any event, I downloaded the exe file (64 bit) and went through the process
of instalation like normal. At the end doing the whole restart for changes to
take affect etc.

After this was done and my computer powered back up, there was no indication of
Jaws 15 anywhere on my desktop or in the start menu. The FSReader 3.0 icon did
appear on my desktop and indeed launched fine so this showed me that something
was installed. I eventually went through the windows explorer, Program Files,
Freedom scientific, Run Jaws and then to the Jaws
15 folder. There I found the JFW 15 exe file and figured I would just for
convenience sake throw a short cut to the file on my desktop.

After placing the JFW.exe short cut and renaming it for Jaws 15, I unloaded JFW
14 and started JFW 15. However, while using the JFW 15 beta, I am finding that
the settings I change in the voice profile section aren't sticking. Even though
I speed up the rate of speech and press the ok button, Jaws reverts to its
default slow rate setting. I also tried the startup wizard under the help menu,
but it along with the check for authorization and check for updates options
appear as unavailable.

Thanks,

Hi David,

I do not believe it is essential one upgrade, right? I mean, Dropbox doesn't
force the upgrade, correct? If this is the case, then I don't feel users
have to upgrade just because everyone else is upgrading. There probably
isn't any great feature to be gained, so I wouldn't fix something that ain't
broke. .

Suzy Q,

I'm confused here. You can share these links from the public folder on their
web site, it works, but who wants to go that route. Thanks to David, now I
don't have to.

No, you don't have to upgrade, but when there is an issue and one of your
devices isn't like syncing to a prior version, then in order to get it to,
the upgrade is necessary. I had to for my 4/s

Now, when something is shared or whatever is going on in drop box, jaws
states it on the computers, a ding dong sound blurb notifies me on my 4/s

Thank goodness for workarounds!

Hi David,

I do not believe it is essential one upgrade, right? I mean, Dropbox doesn't
force the upgrade, correct? If this is the case, then I don't feel users
have to upgrade just because everyone else is upgrading. There probably
isn't any great feature to be gained, so I wouldn't fix something that ain't
broke. .

It has come to my attention that some folks are having troubles navigating
drop box. Is it the tabbed interface or something else? I would need to know
this before ever being able to answer such a question, thank you.

This is a windows 7 lap top and it works perfectly here. Focus on the file,
hip your applications key. Then arrow down to drop box or just hit the
letter D. Right arrow and then up arrow.

shows same folders/files.
However only on my windows 7 laptop, when I put item in the public folder
and then press the applications key to copy public link, I get no such
option within the context menu. I checked it on my desktop running xp, the
copy public link was in the list through the applications key, but it is not

Please can anyone help me figure this out? I really need to be able to copy

Re: [JAWS-Users] i think this way is for only down loading

2013-09-16 Thread Joseph FreeTech
It might also have something to do with Internet Explorer. That is, there
might be some sort of code change in Internet Explorer 9 and Internet
Explorer 10 of which Jaws cannot access to convey to the user. The ability
to convey web page loading progress might only be possible in Internet
Explorer 8 or IE7.

Exactly, I think the setting for adjusting progress update only affects
download and installation progress. But, If I remember it right, JAWS12 do
have this certain webpage functionality. Not really sure about it. Can

Re: [JAWS-Users] i think this way is for only down loading

2013-09-16 Thread Joseph FreeTech
Well, I don't really feel it is necessary. Often it takes mere seconds for a
webpage to load even on those Wikipedia articles with 1500 links. If you
press enter on a link, and if you wait long enough, Jaws will inform you of
the amount of links and related information as well as regions and such.
Jaws will then begin reading the information on the webpage, which one can
use to infer that the page has finished loading. Again, all of this takes
seconds--that is if the webpage doesn't have all kinds of Java and tons of
other stuff going on. I will add that I don't know your intended uses, so of
course you will feel differently about this process. .

Re: [JAWS-Users] JAWS message Nothing selected

2013-09-16 Thread Joseph FreeTech
I'm not experiencing this phenomenon. I try copying "Computer" or "Recycle
bin" and Jaws said nothing. I then try copying a shortcut placed by an
application such as Jaws or iTunes and I received the appropriate Jaws
message "copied."

I will add that I did end up with a major Jaws crash leaving me with no
audio. I tried all methods of unloading jaws from memory including
Insert+Windows key+F4 and this did not work either. I tried my custom
KillJaws batch file and this also didn't work. I had to launch Window Eyes
to close everything and force a total Jaws shut down then reload Windows. I
don't know if this crash was related, but I've been running this computer
for a couple of days without a crash. Would test again, but I don't think
its worth the incredibly small yet possible file corruption possibility.

Exactly, I think the setting for adjusting progress update only affects
download and installation progress. But, If I remember it right, JAWS12 do
have this certain webpage functionality. Not really sure about it. Can
someone verify it?

Hello list.

Every time I move to Windows Desktop and tap control + C or Control + X in a
selected item, for the intention of pasting these selected items somewhere
else, I always get this error message from JAWS saying .

Nothing selected.

Is there anyone on this list who experience similar concern? Move to your
desktop and try copying some items. Did your JAWS informed you that it has
been copied to the windows clipboard?

This is a windows 7 lap top and it works perfectly here. Focus on the file,
hip your applications key. Then arrow down to drop box or just hit the
letter D. Right arrow and then up arrow.

shows same folders/files.
However only on my windows 7 laptop, when I put item in the public folder
and then press the applications key to copy public link, I get no such
option within the context menu. I checked it on my desktop running xp, the
copy public link was in the list through the applications key, but it is not
showing through applications key on window's 7 laptop.
Please can anyone help me figure this out? I really need to be able to copy

Re: [JAWS-Users] windows defender vs. super antivirus

2013-09-16 Thread Joseph FreeTech
Hi George and all,

To download the most current version of Malwarebytes please click for access
to my Dropbox folder:

You can also simply click on the following link and download for yourselves.
Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Free:
http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free/

When the webpage loads simply press the #1 on the number row 4 times to find
the following level 1 heading: "Free." Press enter on the "Download now"
link right under this heading. You will be taken to a page with the
following title: Malwarebytes Anti-Malware - CNET Download.com. Simply down
arrow to the following text:
Welcome Malwarebytes Anti-Malware users. To complete your download, click on
the link below:
Combo box English
Download now link
Note: the actual file you will be downloading is named
"mbam-setup-1.75.0.1300.exe."

Quick Specs
Product Ranking:#1 in Anti-Spyware
Version:1.75
Total Downloads:121,439,617
Date Added:April 09, 2013
Downloads Last Week:630,569

I just completed this downloading process and it is safe. .

Don't forget that This is the free version, so if you want to make sure it
stays the free version, when installing, you might be asked if you want to
try the Pro version. I say go ahead and try it, because if you don't want to
pay for it, the Malwarebytes Pro version will revert to a 15-day trial
anyways. If you don't want to bother with the Pro version then simply choose
the free version.

Let me know if you have any problems or further questions! .

Joseph the free tech guy!

Hi Joseph,
Sure, you can Dropbox it to me.
I have a account for this address already set up.

jorgethehang...@gmail.com

My 3 install of Mywarebytes came through email and once you install it there
is nothing else to download.
What rock did you crawl out of because I been here only one month in this
club and your replies seem to be good and I notice some controversy on the
new guy (You)..

Anyways you are doing good, keep up the good work.

Thanks.

Hi George,

Regarding your statements below, if you mean that downloading the free
version of Malwarebytes takes you to a CNet download page, well, this is how
this process works. It seems a bit invasive, but I assure you it is not;
especially since you are taken from the Malwarebytes website to the CNet
download page.

Joseph

Hi Lenny,
Thanks for the info, but it's not for me.
I use Mywarebytes pro on three pc's.
I was trying to download the free version, but kept on taking me to a third
party download for 'CNET' and I cancel .

This is for my wife computer, so I'll try your link.
I also have Windows Defender and MSE installed on it, but I always wonder if
the Windows Defender actually works???

Thanks.
