If you had consulted the help page for this information you would find the
following:

http://www.mail-archive.com/jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com
I have always used an external archiving service since the list has moved
various times over the years to different web host providers the last being
a little over 5 years ago. I was successful enough that nobody even noticed
the move at that time.

Hi Lenny,
Just to make sure I understand, this is a wireless printer?
If so, you will need to establish a wireless connection between the printer
and your modem or router.
If you have the software disk for that printer, run it, and it should make
the connection for you.
You should be able to access the setup wizard with Jaws, but keep in mind
that if this is a wireless connection, if the printer drops the connection
for some reason,
you will need to run the setup again, or get sighted assistance with the
display on the printer.
If you choose the correct settings as the wizard prompts you, then you should
be able to access the printer from any computer on the network.
If your friend doesn't have the disk, then go to the manufacturer's website,
and download the software.

In a middle of my grandson’s last minute homework assignment my printer bit

computer is wireless. Trying to set it up for wireless to be used on my home
network we had a lot of problems. It wanted a mac address and instructed to
print a test page to find the number. We could not print. We told the set up

launched openbook. I then again inserted the usb cable and it did link the

At least we were able to print the information that he needed. Really would
like it to be wireless. Any suggestions? Happy New Year to all, I sure hope

Hi Lenny.

Do you have connected the printer to the router through a RL45 network
cable?
This is the first needed thing to do, before installing the software for the
printer.
When this is done, it should be possible for the software, automatically to
find the mac address etc. to got the printer set up to work on your network.

You might try medical transcription.
For this job, you will need to invest in a medical transcription course. I
recommend the InScribe University. They will do their best to place you with
an externship when you finish with their course. InScribe runs the
University and also has a nice sized transcription business. I work there.
The people are grand to work with. If you do sign up with them, be sure and
tell them Andrew sent you.

[JAWS-Users] Windows Update Issue

2014-01-02 Thread Trish
Hello,

I need to find a dtae when I installed an update for MS Framework. When I go to
the list of installed updates, I find several that are listed as Frame update,
but what I can't find is the date it was installed, I need to remove it and not
sure which one to remove since I can't find the date, can someone help me
figure this out?

I did while in the list do Alt V and checked details, however it seemed to just
show 2 items and none were the ones I needed, and I could not move around to
get any of the other items in the list to show up.

I am doing all this on windows 7 laptop using Jaws 13

Thanks,

Trish

Re: [JAWS-Users] Problem loading and navigating web site.

2014-01-02 Thread Mike O'Brien
Hi

With 2000 links, I can see JAWS being very sluggish and go for several minutes
before starting to speak. But JAWS will eventually start to speak. When you
open the page, JAWS has to look at every link in order to create the links list
and build all the elements you can use to navigate web pages. So you might as
well do something else while you're waiting. I don't know if Freedom
Scientific would have any suggestions on how to speed it up.

Hi

You can export the contacts to a file, get that file to the Windows XP
machine and then import it into the contacts folder. I'm not familiar with
Outlook 2007, so I can't give the exact steps for that version. But in
Outlook 2000, you would go to the File menu and press enter on Import and
Export. Then on the next screen, choose Export to a file or Import from
another program or file and press enter. Then fill out the info on the next
few pages and submit it.

another program or file and press enter. Then fill out the info on the next
few pages and submit it.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Copy / Exporting / Importing Outlook2007 Contacts

Hi All,

Personally I don't use Outlook but, asking this on behalf of an
acquaintence:

I want to copy my contacts from Outlook 2007 on a Win 7 /64 machine to a Win
XP machine that also has Outlook 2007. I've already created the account on
that other machine and set up most of the rules, but I discovered that I
hadn't transferred contacts yet so need to know how I can do that part of
the move. All advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks much.
Take care.
Mike

[JAWS-Users] Strange problems with JAWS and OpenBook 9 authorizations on Windows 7

2014-01-02 Thread Mike O'Brien
Hi

Ever since I had to replace my hard drive on a Windows 7 64-bit system with
a Seagate 4TB drive, I have been having problems running JAWS 14 or15 and
OpenBook authorized. After burning through a few authorization keys, I
finally determined that immediately after I boot the Windows 7 system, the
about dialogs show a locking code for both products but neither will start
authorized and have to be run in demo mode. But about 5 minutes later, the
about dialogs show a different locking code for both JAWS and OpenBook 9.
Then I can start either product and authorize it and it can be run or
restarted authorized until I re-boot. FS support tells me that I just have
to live with this situation. They say it's due to some hardware driver.
There have been no hardware changes to this computer since the new hard
drive was installed. Any guesses as to what could be done about this?

Also I noticed that JAWS and OpenBook 9 have the same locking code on a
Windows XP machine, but on my Windows 7 machine, they have different locking
codes, both in the first 5 minutes after booting and later when they can run
authorized. Is this something normal for Windows 7?

Also after I had authorized JAWS 5 minutes or later after rebooting the
computer, it appears that my JAWS authorization disappeared from the
computer a few days later. The ILM viewer for JAWS said no JAWS
authorization could be found. Other than the option to remove product
activation, (which I did not do), is there any other situation that can
completely remove the JAWS activation?

Thanks.

[JAWS-Users] freeware video converter

2014-01-02 Thread Kevin Lee
does anyone know of a video converter which is freeware? that works well with
jaws
I’m particularly trying to convert non encrypted dvds to wav, mpeg or some
other movie format.
I tried format factory and it is very easy to use but I’m not sure if its
converting my dvd, because I select my dvd put it into format factory by the
send command from the context menu. I select the output format I want
configure my output folder, start conversion and like 5 hours later all I get
in my output folder is a temp file and I’m trying to convert a hour movie!
email is golden !

you need to rip the dvd to .mpg or something like
that in order to get the entire dvd. ideal dvd is
a good one and its not too expensive and i believe freemake dvd is free.

Re: [JAWS-Users] freeware video converter

2014-01-02 Thread Steve
Obviously, you are just going to convert the audio. Try DVD Audio Extractor
from

www.dvdae.com, it has a thirty-day trial.

I used to use a program that was free Freemake DVD Converter, but I don't
know if it is still available or not. I don't like the fact that it
installs an optional toolbar and changes your homepage.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Strange problems with JAWS and OpenBook 9authorizations on Windows 7

2014-01-02 Thread Trish
Could someone else's key have accidently or intentionally been installed at
some point?
I can tell you that if that has ever happened, sometimes, it rears it's
other ILM number and no matter how many times you delete and put in the
correct one, it seems to never go away entirely.

I just updated my SMA as of Monday, so come Jan 1, I am going into the 40
min mode. Then I get a pop up and another ILM number is in the edit field,
so by now, I am an expert at this. I delete that one and put in mine and so
far so good.
How about calling FS and hear them say..we cannot locate your serial number,
then they do after my long explaination of why another number is showing, my
laptop is possessed!

If you had consulted the help page for this information you would find the
following:

I have always used an external archiving service since the list has moved
various times over the years to different web host providers the last being
a little over 5 years ago. I was successful enough that nobody even noticed
the move at that time.
