Re: [JAWS-Users] order of received emails in Outlook 2010
Oops, lol. I must've heard that one wrong, darn hearing loss! Well, in my inbox, here is how I have it set up and the oldest is at the top, and I just sent myself an email and it appeared at the bottom. View ribbon, alt V. I tabbed and unchecked the box to make sure it wasn't in conversation view. Then, tab to view settings and press spacebar. Down arrow to the sort by button and press spacebar.. In the first combobox, select received. Tab and make sure it is set on ascending and then tab to ok and ok and spacebar. The keytip that John gave you originally should've worked but since it didn't, try this route. I hope that helps, or will help. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Pinky Sent: Tuesday, January 7, 2014 8:46 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] order of received emails in Outlook 2010 I would like my email to be setup so that the oldest ones are at the top and the newest one at the bottom. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Kimsan Sent: Tuesday, January 07, 2014 6:55 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] order of received emails in Outlook 2010 Try the following... 1. Put your emails in conversation view. Alt v for the view ribbon. Tab to where it says show as conversation. If it isn't checked check it, then it will ask if you want it for all folders or only the folder you are focused in. Then when you cycle through emails, you will hear the thread with the senders separated by emails, and if you tap delete, it will ask if you are sure you want to delete all of the emails in the selected conversation, or something to that affect. Re: [JAWS-Users] making the jaws key a sticky key.
After getting into the Default Settings Center, and finding the Insert Key Mode dialogue: When you tab to the checkbox and check it, with SPACEBAR, it becomes checked. (By default it was not checked. After that, press the tab key once and read the associated help tip), Then TAB to and activate the Apply Button or the OK button (if you want to set it). Now whenever you press the Insert key, no matter how long you take to press the next key, JAWS will treat both the INSERT Key and the next keypress as if they were parts of the one JAWS command. (Try it now with the insert key t.) Do the same steps again (but unchecking the checkbox) if you want to reverse this. - Original Message - From: "Geoff Eden" To: Sent: Tuesday, January 07, 2014 10:17 PM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] making the jaws key a sticky key. Dan, yes, a kind of sticky key is what I'm looking for. However, getting in and out of the mode would have to be a good deal more facile than the current sticky keys. I perceive that people would only want to use it on occasion, hence, some kind of multiple tap that would cinch it followed by another tap to release it, would make sense to me. Re: [JAWS-Users] order of received emails in Outlook 2010
Al, you are correct that you can change the sort order without disabling virtual ribbons. However, you cannot do this with the key stroke combinations I gave the jaws user asking a question. I use jaws and do not use the virtual ribbons not May be you can give him the key combinations of how to do the reverse sort with the virtual ribbon enabled. Re: [JAWS-Users] windows 7 and classic view question?
Hi For me, in Windows 7, pressing the Windows key by itself will bring up the Start Menu if you're on the desktop or any other window, the same as pressing control+escape. Arrowing up and down thru the start menu will list a certain number of the programs you have used, but not all programs on the computer. When you're on the search box, you can right arrow to the second column of the start menu and arrow up and down to your Windows user folder and options like documents, computers, etc. As was mentioned, you can type something in the search box and a list will pop up with things that match what you type. Also when you're on the search box, if you up arrow one time you will hear All Programs. Right arrow to get into the All Programs menu. This Menu contains all the programs that have put entries into the All Programs menu, the same as Windows XP, except for the addition of search and back entries. The only difference between this All Programs menu and the one in Windows XP, is that in Windows 7, the single program entries are listed before the sub-menu entries. And once you arrow away from the search or back entry, you can use first letter navigation to find what you want. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Miriam Vieni Sent: Monday, January 06, 2014 09:35 To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] windows 7 and classic view question? When I had my del inspiron laptop, the combo of the fn key with a function key turned off and on the numlock. I lol, just tried doing keyboard help and did fn with each function key and I would not recommend that if you don't know what each combo does. I just now accidentallylocked myself out of my comp and it required a password to get back in which I forgot what it was, so I had to use something that is irrevelent to the topic to get back in my ssystem. In short, consult the manual for your system, it should have information on how to turn off and on the numlock key. This is going to be a growing problem since the keyboard has a limited number of keys and the command structure keeps expanding it might just be a good idea for other reasons as well. This idea would certainly benefit folks with MS and probably quite a number of other people as well, stroke victims ETC. Re: [JAWS-Users] windows 7 and classic view question?
Hi Marilyn, Sorry if I confused you, yes, I am talking about the Windows XP operating system, and using the Classic start menu. Let me explain a little about that. In Windows XP and Vista, you had a choice of what start menu you wanted to use, either the classic, which refers to the Windows 98 start menu, or, the XP or Vista start menus respectively. You do not have that option in Windows 7 or 8, but you can customize the start menu in Windows 7 somewhat. I use the start menu in all versions of Windows that I have the same way, I arrow up and down, and when I come to the item I want, I just hit enter, it is the same as using the right arrow key. In Windows 7 after pressing the Windows key, the start menu will open, and the focus will be on the search box, at this point, if you up arrow, you should find all programs, just hit enter, and then you can arrow through your programs. If you have had someone put things on the start menu for you, when the focus is on the search box, just down arrow, and they should be there. You can have everything you want displayed as a list, it just has to be set that way just like in Windows XP. If you need more, just sing out.
