Hi all It is for that reason that I don't rely on IE to save all my passwords. Instead I use RoboForm. Some parts of it are inaccessible, like the password generator controls, but the essential functions are. I'd like to find a password manager and form filler like RoboForm that is fully accessible or convince Siber Systems to make all of RoboForm accessible. Cheers! Hello, I am running the latest JAWS 18 update on a Windows10 pc and I am not having any issues with Internet Explorer11 reloading. I just installed Firefox on here a few weeks ago with the latest version 50 update applied and have not had issues with this browser yet. I would attempt to delete your temporary Internet files and cookies in both browsers to see if the issue is resolved. I would also make sure that the home pages that you start to do not contain many ads and that you do not have many which are opening at one time. I don't doubt you Jim but a pause means to me that jaws will come back talking by itself. No need to worry about using IE 11. When some people on here use the term, Jaws crashes, this is misleading, they mean Jaws hesitates. If Jaws 16 or Jaws 17 crashes, there will be a 30 second wait, then you will hear, Jaws 16 home or professional version, the same message you hear after logging-in to your computer. However, a short delay of 5 or 10 seconds from Jaws, is not a crash, but a Jaws delay. So, if anyone notices this on their computers, please report this to Freedom Scientific, so they can look into it. This will help all of us with a pleasant experience when using Jaws. Just my two cents worth on this topic... Love God! with your heart, mind, and soul, that you might be blessed reaching His goal. Love your Neighbor as you would yourself, God will truly reward you with good health. Love God, your neighbor, as you love yourself, you will then be spiritually balanced with wealth. Re: [JAWS-Users] jaws 16 and internet explorer
Hi Tom, IE 11 works great with Jaws 16 and Jaws 17. Love His Word that proceeds from His lips, then reflect on the heavens where God sits. Re: [JAWS-Users] jaws 16 and internet explorer
Hello, everyone. I feel the need to chime in here on this thread. In defense of Tom, I have rolled back to Internet Explorer 10, due to what seemed to be an unsolvable problem that I encountered with IE 11 and Jaws 16 this past summer. IE 11 was installed on my Windows 7 desktop with a Windows update, and I suddenly found that I could not enter information into form field edit boxes. I worked with a very experienced Jaws user, with FS Tech Support, and with the Microsoft Accessibility Hotline on the issue, but we could never solve the problem. My only solution was to roll back to IE 10, and everything worked fine once again. I fully realize that I am going to have to do something about this issue at some point, when IE 10 is no longer supported, but for right now, I'm not sure what that will be. A friend's experience (no matter how well versed they are) doesn't mean that it will be yours also. [JAWS-Users] JAWS and The Internet
Hey, Eric, as long as you're sitting in, let's talk for a minute about Internet under .1925. I don't know what improvements were made, but it can still be dicey. I think the worst is the Silverlight program we use. There's one radio button that may work, or may send the entire Internet into either a freeze or a crash. While I'm at it, if I can complain, I can also praise. This program, which can be somewhat temperamental, was totally unusable a year ago. Thanks to work by your development team (I wish I could remember the name of the fellow who came here last year), in conjunction with the app's creator, JAWS is doing things it never did before. This type of program may always need some tweaking, but I have to thank all involved for a job very well done. It's heartening to think that a problem at li'le old Medicaid can improve productivity for thousands throughout the nation and the world. [JAWS-Users] JAWS and the internet
Hi all, Yesterday I mentioned in a post that I have noticed increased JAWS instability in recent versions. Now that I think about it, most of that instability occurs when surfing the web. When I say instability, I mostly am referring to JAWS losing focus and not easily getting it back as well as occasionally crashing. I am using IE9 on a Windows 7 machine. I'm not sure if this is a JAWS issue or a IE issue or a issue with how JAWS interacts with IE. I wonder if I would have better stability with Fire Fox. Also, I believe that someone on the list recently mentioned that they have better luck with stability with IE 64 bit. I would like to hear thoughts and suggestions please. Thanks, Scott Duck For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/

Nope, can't find a google tool bar. I've looked on the desktop, programs, start menu, my computer, and control panel under Internet options thinking there might be a way to turn off any toolbars. Where else could it be lurking? I know I found it on the desktop a few years ago and got rid of it. Re: [JAWS-Users] JAWS 9 and internet address bar
You got two questions there. Regarding the Address toolbar: Hit ctrl+tab until you get to the Address bar, or the main page, whichever you want at the time. Now, for the other: You may have turned on the default search page (which operates in Internet Explorer, and maybe in Firefox as well although I don't know for sure) with the control-e toggle. Next time you open a page in Internet Explorer, hit ctrl+e and see what that gives. - Original Message - From: Carlene Knight [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Sent: Sunday, April 27, 2008 1:27 AM Subject: [JAWS-Users] JAWS 9 and internet address bar Hi: After my last screw up, it's almost embarrassing to post anything here, but I have a question anyway. Re: [JAWS-Users] JAWS 9 and internet address bar
I've never done it all the way, but I think what you're getting is, with the default search toggled on with ctrl-e (which you can turn off again with ctrl-e), and your default search engine in IE7 set to Google, exactly what is to be expected. - Original Message - From: Carlene Knight [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]; jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Sent: Sunday, April 27, 2008 1:44 AM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] JAWS 9 and internet address bar Nope, can't find a google tool bar. Re: [JAWS-Users] JAWS 9 and internet address bar
Hi, in Internet Explorer, open the view menu with alt v, press t to open the toolbars submenu, and you should see it there. If it's checked, it's visible and you'll need to press enter to uncheck (hide) the toolbar, and vice versa. Re: [JAWS-Users] JAWS 9 and internet address bar
Hi Carlene, If the Google toolbar is installed on your computer, you'll find it in the add/remove programs dialog box, not anywhere else that you mentioned. I would also suggest you go to the view menu and see what is checked on and what isn't. You can do this by opening an internet explorer window, then pressing alt+V to go to the view menu, then arrow down to the explorer bar sub-menu. In that menu are a number of choices that will either have a check mark beside it, or not. If you see the check mark beside an item, just press enter to disable it. I would also go through the toolbar sub-menu also to see what is checked on and what isn't. Lastly, another thing I would look at are the add-ons that are running with Internet Explorer, as some add-ons will interfere with some of internet explorer's functions. I have found that Spybot does that quite often, something I didn't find out until I had to disable each of my add-ons until I found the culprit that was interfering with my surfing habits. Anyway, hope this helps. [JAWS-Users] JAWS with the Internet
Dear all, I have had a recurring problem with JAWS and the Internet, and I am wondering whether there is anyone out there who can suggest something. I am using Windows XP Home Edition version 2002 with JAWS 7.1. When using JAWS and MAGic on certain websites, the computer switches off and restarts itself. I have got a sighted person to try out the sites without any adaptive software running, and there is no problem. I have tried the sites with JAWS on a separate laptop, and again the whole thing restarts. It is immaterial whether the browser I use is Internet Explorer (version 7) or Firefox. Is there any setting within either JAWS or windows that can view more coding or Java, if this is the problem? I have never done anything other than accept the default settings when browsing the web, so I would welcome any suggestions. The only clue I have (although I have no idea how to take advantage of it) is that I get a balloon at the bottom of the screen advising me that my virtual memory is too low, and that windows is increasing the size of my virtual memory paging file. The site on which this happens most often is the eBay My eBay page. It is really annoying. I have had to go back to using Zoomtext for viewing this website, which is just about adequate but not nearly as good as being able to use JAWS. Thanks for any help. Re: [JAWS-Users] JAWS with the Internet
Hi, If you have been using Jaws 7.1 for all of your testing, maybe you should download the latest version and use it in demo mode and see if the problem persists. I am currently using Jaws 6.2, which works very well. I have a license for version 7.1, but when I have used it, my computer always seems to experience some sort of strange problems. so, it looks like I'll be using 6.2 for the foreseeable future. Re: [JAWS-Users] JAWS with the Internet
no, it does matter if your using IE7 with jaws 7, because there are some things that it just won't do well. And your adding magic with it so that combo just might be crashing on IE7. At 06:20 PM 2/25/2008, you wrote: Dear all, I have had a recurring problem with JAWS and the Internet, and I am wondering whether there is anyone out there who can suggest something.
