Sorry, I got the idea at some point in the dialogue that she was finding or remembering people that belonged with other people. I had assumed she was referring to her server, not the LUG administrators, since I have never heard any directives from them on this. On the other hand, we are requested to please include the whole trail of a question until final resolution. IMHO, the difference between half a page or a quarter page of plain text is minimal. Most 'cheap' servers 'expect' two to three pages per e-mail? Rich in LA CA --- "M. Valerie, To be honest, I don't think that the administrators want the messages to be as short as possible. I think that they would prefer if we got a clear understanding of the situation and what your question is and not have to send so many more messages trying to find out what you're asking. Please explain in your email what you are doing, what you are experiencing, what you would like to know. None of us is a mind-reader. When you author your email, put yourself in our shoes. Valerie, Actually, if you have trouble remembering which person you were working on, click on the little triangle between the large arrows on the toolbar. It will bring up a History List. At the top of the list will be the person or family that you were last working on. If you have not added the blue left and right arrows and the down wedge, called 'Back Forward' from the Available Toolbar menus, then prepare to be pleasantly surprized. It tracks the last 200 people opened up. You wll never need to 'remember' where you were at, the program does. What I do to easily return to a person is use the middle of the three bookmarks that are across the bottom of the screen in Legacy. I have the other two set for people that I always want available, but I find using the one most useful. RE: [LegacyUG] Name list query
I'm not sure what you mean, Valerie. From the Index (is this what you mean by Name List?) you can pull down "Add" from the top=line menu, and add whatever the category of person is ( wife, son, unrelated, etc). You might find it interesting and informative to pull down all of the menus and experiment with them, just to begin to find your way around a bit.
