rent some of my land up north. I'd read that a lot of the young farmers are 
finding land that way and as my fields are mostly small it'd likely be a young, 
small timer that would be interested.

I wonder how easy it is to check stock on Lowe’s web site? That’s one nice 
thing about doing it in the store - the salespeople can tell you the status of 
the stock at any time.

The Costco thing that Floyd pointed out is pretty good. We’re Costco members 
and use their branded VISA card as well, as you get points for buying gas, so 
we may go that route. The kickback plus the additional warranty makes it 
worthwhile. They also have a really good selection on their web site, too.

I checked reviews on those 2 units linked below, the Whirlpool got some
bad reviews but the Maytag reviews were all pretty good whatever that
might mean.

Costco have a deal where if you get their credit card and pay with that
you get another 2yr (4 total) warranty coverage and another 2% cash
back. I'm not a CC fan but that might be worth it to get it, pay off
the CC, then stick it in a drawer. That would give me $30 off total
then the extra 2 years is good. I can buy online and get it delivered
next Wed, they haul off the old one, do the hookup, etc. so that's a
good deal, pretty much turnkey.

And yeah that is about the least expensive they have for the larger
(mid!) size so I guess that is what you have to buy.

I see Fred's comment that they are both made by Whirlpool, I guess that
is why they look similar, probably have the same guts. h

figured we could find an inexpensive washer and dryer and like you, I was

When we head up north I’m going to check out what used to be Sears Outlet. You 
could get some good deals on closeouts and scratch and dent stuff there. 
They’ve been bought out by a company called “American Freight” apparently, but 
they’re still doing the same thing. There are four stores around Indy.

I als plan on going to some independent appliance stores, too. I think the big 
box retailers fix prices or simply don’t carry a wide range of stuff for a 
reason. The independent appliance stores might be a little more expensive but 
I”m guessing they have access to a much wider range of models and prices.

POR15 makes a really good epoxy for refinishing steering wheels. It takes some 
time to d the job, but if you’re careful and follow the instructions it works 
out nicely.

Mercedes closed out their NOS steering wheels a couple of years ago. I was able 
to snag one for the 220SEb for around $400, brand new. They had listed well 
north of $1,000 previously. It was a beautiful thing, I wanted to hang it on 
the wall like a work of art.
