Re: [MBZ] Advance auto parts
Hydro boost is orders of magnitude better than vacuum boost. Applied brake pressures with hydro boost is much higher than peddle feel. I had one failure with the system when the brake master cylinder started leaking, brake fluid corss contaminated the hydroboost unit the power steering pump, and the power steering box. I discovered I had an issue in the loaded F450 [1 ton power stroke Ford] in rush hour traffic, when the lower seal of the power steering box blew out of the housing from swelling due to brake fluid... lost all the power steering fluid, brakes, and steering in about 1 block and one stop light... exciting moments... Lesson learned there was to keep a watch on master cylinder condition, always. On Fri, May 22, 2020 at 11:43 AM fmiser via Mercedes wrote: > > Kaleb wrote: > > > I have never had one fail, just leak. The biggest issue for the store, I would guess, is the paperwork to deal with the customer and then the parts supplier. In my experience, most stores are pretty good. I had issues with starters for a Nissan Maxima and they gave me several in a row. It turned out it was not the fault of the manufacturer as there was a relay on the vehicle that was causing the starter not to disengage. After several starters, I asked for a different brand, suspecting that there was a bad batch of starters on their shelves. The new one of a different brand came with a printed page inside telling me that if there was an issue such as I was experiencing, I should look for a problem with the relay. That was very helpful and I do hope the other manufacturer has figured that out too and included a similar message. I had to go to the dealer for the relay and the parts guys there told me that they had never heard of such a problem. They did not stock the relay and it had to be ordered in so maybe it was an unusual thing or the car was just old enough to start causing that problem. ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com

Reminds me of the time I bought a pair of KYB adjustable struts. A couple years later one leaked. A local parts store that stocked KYB replaced them. A couple years later one leaked. KYB sent me a pair of GR2s via the parts store (they didn't make the adjustables any more) and told them I was never getting any more. The nonadjustable struts never failed, but I never bought KYB again. [MBZ] Advance auto parts
I know some of you folks order a lot of items from them. If an item has a lifetime warranty, or any warranty for that matter, if it is ordered online for pickup in store, or ordered online and shipped to home, if you want to return it for replacement can you just take said part into a store? Will they have your info on file or will you have to bring the order info with you from the online order? --- This email has been checked for viruses by AVG. https://www.avg.com ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
