What is the number of the kit with those hard parts in it? I asked about that last week and got no results. The dealer here in town cannot find a listing nor even a picture in the parts diagram for it. MG Karl Wittnebel via Mercedes wrote: It is as simple as dirt. The steel line fittings cause galvanic corrosion of the housing, so some barium or other stuff is probably a good idea on the threads. There is a pressure relief screw on the housing also. For when you first open it up. But not really needed. No more saggy rear. Probably a good time to replace the struts also, but not required. Change the fluid out too. I dont know why people put those spring chocks in at all. So silly when you have this nice system in place. Re: [MBZ] I guess I was ignorant at some point too
The rear axle SLS system on W114/5, W123, 124, 126 should maintain base pressure irrespective of the position of the linkage. If the car sags it is probably the base pressure valve spring. MB used to sell a rebuild kit for that. Not sure if it still exists, as I haven't bout it for 15 years or so. The linkage serves only to relay additional loads so that the system can react and increase fluid volume to maintain the correct level. Even with the lever in the "drain" position, the system should never discharge the base pressure. D. On Jun 17, 2019, Floyd Thursby wrote: > > SLS on wagon.? SLS on wagon. I told him to check the linkage to the valve, he did, it is broken so he is going to order a new one. He actually listened and acted appropriately. I think the TD has the rubber mounting bolts between the manifold and the air cleaner too, I recall doing something with them ages ago, but don't recall specifically.
