455 W. Roberts Road, to be exact - on the outside, near the intersection of Thompson and Meridian (135). I believe that's around where my sister lives in some "vinyl village", as we like to call them. Couldn't say for sure, since I haven't talked to her in nearly 30 years. Re: [MBZ] Chowda'Q
I grew up near the intersection of Thompson Road and Meridian. Went to Burkhart and Lincoln elementaries, opened Meridian Middle and Perry Meridian HSs. When I got married, we lived on the southside for a year, then out to W. 10th Street, then down to Greenwood just off of Smith Valley just east of SR 135 before bailing out in 1988 and moving to Wisconsin. I wouldn't mind living in Greenwood, but it doesn't make sense based on where the business is located. While I have family down there, it's only 30 minutes away, so that's not a big inconvenience. My brother lives in Valle Vista, and my mom just sold her place and is moving into Crestwood up on Madison. So where did you live in Greenwood? Re: [MBZ] Chowda'Q
We bought this house in February of 1997, just missing the change in tax law regarding capital gains (dang it!) That's why I hadn't thought about the change in tax laws regarding home sales. We seriously considered delaying the purchase of the house as a result of the change, because we took a hit when we moved down here - the market was hot in Milwaukee at the time and we were selling a house we had built ourselves (major league sweat equity there.) Good to know - thank goodness we won't get hammered, because the same thing is going to happen again with the ridiculous home prices here and far less expensive homes in Indy. FWIW, we'll be on the west side, probably in Avon, Plainfield or Brownsburg. Still lots of land around there and close to work for me. Thanks for the info - and we've already started our "box 'o' receipts" for the house sale. Re: [MBZ] Chowda'Q
Maybe but a good one is hard to beat. Of course, I really like bread so maybe it follows that I would like the Yorkshire pudding too. We have a local restaurant that does a real nice prime rib and the dinner always comes with a real nice Yorkshire pudding and juice to dip it in. That and a bit of horseradish to go with the beef and a bit of red wine and I don't care if I get the potatoe and veggies.
