Re: [MMouse]: (OT) The Beautiful Game of Hockey
Hah! You two are perfect together--suffering from a classic 'poor loser complex.' The Devils (if you haven't (obviously) noticed) are playing some of the most graceful hockey. The passing, the checking, the chemistry... absolutely sublime. As for dirty players well, I've already mentioned Hatcher's nature. (G'D red-neck. Nothing but a meat- head.) At least Lemieux does it w/ style. I'm not even a Jersey fan regularly, but at least I can respect the skill of their play. (Some hockey fans actually give up the game when their team is out-played!) When it's phenomenal, I have to admit it. The Devils are phenomenal! Dallas has been terrified since game 1, but I'm happy they got lucky tonight. Was looking forward to another display of excellence (by New Jersey) on Saturday. Justin Btw--It's amazing, MER, that you say the Devils are crying to the Refs when you aren't even watching the games. What is that? Some kind of women's intuition? Silly. They are playing the refs and it works. There's no damn crying in hockey. god, i hate that team. speaking of basketball, I'm cheering for the Pacers. They knocked out the Sixers and Reggie Miller is as big a wuss as they come, but I can't handle Shaq. .mer.

Re: [MMouse]: fucking hockey...basketball
Laugh! Yr a fine one to talk! Neither of you (ie Chris) addressed the fact that the Devils (who have a pay-roll 60% under the Flyers?) managed to come back from a 3-game deficit. I would have liked to see Tocchet, but... Still pissed about the Portland/LA series, Justin good call dude. no, really. very intelligent. leclair, recchi, gagne, boucher...the flyers have more than just eric lindros. if you can't see that than you really shouldn't be watching hockey. uh, no one in philly talks about the phils winning ANYTHING as if it was last wednesday. pay attention. as for the lights in our parking lot...what the hell are you talking about? is that the best you've got? .mer.

The tables have now turned in favor of Modest Mouse, as the lawsuit was settled out of court. The plaintiff, Nicole Levy, was suing Modest Mouse for $2 million because she sustained a thyroid disorder after she was hurt at the charity event. [MMouse]: busticate the perpetrators
Honestly, this here conglomerate of Modest Mouse fans is really starting to mature into a full-fledged "mailing list" with all of the in-fighting, senseless bickering, bastardized insight and other such random nonsense. I gotta say: Rawk on! Re: hockey First of all, last night's game was very awesome indeed. I think it's fun for me to watch because I'm not really cheering for either team. I mean, it would've been great if the Devils had won just to get to see the Cup being hauled out, but just the same I'd love to see the Stars win again and take this all the way to Game 7. Two conference finals to 7, then the finals to 7? Unprecedented. And really, complaining about Hatcher's kids beating the Cup with plastic swords is ridiculous. If that makes you cringe, you REALLY need to read up on yr Stanley Cup lore for some hilarious stories of Cup debauchery. I read a great story once in the Wall Street Journal about the gentleman whose job it is to escort the Cup everywhere. For those of you who did not know, when a team wins the Cup, each player gets one full day to do whatever he wants with it (which is the basis for those recent NHL commercials with Belfour on the Scrambler and Hull locking it in his ride). Re: NJ, the state You know, Pennsylvania has traffic circles and cow manure as well. And really neither are very bad in moderation considering the alternatives (which would be gridlock and the stench of the city, respectively). Re: lawsuit At least the person wasn't claiming that Modest Mouse ratified NAFTA or invaded Kuwait. It made me chuckle. Re: live shows I think the only drawback to a band becoming more popular is how the diversity of the crowd at their concerts is altered. There will be those who come because their insider buddies scored "+1" on the guest list, or those who come just to be seen. I used to complain about DC crowds, but looking back at the Mogwai show I saw last September at the Black Cat, the only sounds I could hear during the quiet moments were empty beer bottles hitting the trash can. In comparison, everyone in Philly and San Francisco felt the need to carry on conversations amongst themselves. Re: a trade Is there a Josh Rosen on this mailing list? RE: [MMouse]: issac brock boycotting sisqo
indie girls: I've seen some very good looking girls at indie-shows. Granted, they're usually with their indie-boyfriends, but still... issac: you MUST check out the interview with Issac at JamTV.com. I think it's from '97. It's in real audio and is about a half hour long and he's a total jerk to the girl interviewing him. It's pretty funny actually, only because the girl is from Rolling Stone and is trying so hard to sound like she knows what she's talking about. -Original Message- From: norske ho [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Friday, June 09, 2000 3:03 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [MMouse]: issac brock boycotting sisqo issac brock was down with the idea of doing an indie girl thong song video... haha awesome. with pasty white girls with bright red lipstick shaking their asses. i can see it now! mmm isaac coming up to me while i'm shaking my ass on the sand and spanking me! ohh yeaaah baby that's hot ;) the only reason i think isaac brock might be an asshole is cos this girl interviewed them and said they were pretty much jerks..but that was before the past year so maybe he's sorta changed after all the fucked up shit that's probably been around him with rumors, getting attacked, etc. i must hear this interview. and then i must find modest mouse and successfully hump all of them. ok uhm yeah - amy, the official crackmonger for 2000

[MMouse]: Bottom of the Hill
I hate to take up space here, but I have a desperate request for help. I found out yesterday that TicketWeb never processed my order for 3 tickets for each of the San Francisco shows next week, despite the fact that they double charged my credit card. I had assumed that they'd be coming in the mail and figured I'd have an extra set to share with some needy fans who couldn't get tickets, but it turns out that I'm now in that boat. Anyhow, if anyone has any extras, please send me an e-mail at [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] . Thanks very much in advance for any help that you might offer.
[MMouse]: T-Shirt Files
Ok well I'm finally all moved back to suburbia aka Marysville, WA home of the strawberry and a bunch of cows. I've uploaded all the files you'll need to the http://www.serv.net/~t3kno/mmshirt/ directory. dates.txt = list of MM show dates MMshirt_list.jpg = jpg file for the list kingrichard.zip = compressed PC Font typeface I would prefer used for the dates / I could settle for a plain system type font as well. I want the dates in columns in the middle white space of the picture. Your more than welcome to change the size of the image but don't blow it up to much remeber it has to fit on a t-shirt. Understand the graphic needs more work I AM NOT an artist in any sense. Feel free to send comment / suggestions. Adam Kind [EMAIL PROTECTED] P.S. E-mail me if you want another file format or have a question.
Re: [MMouse]: (OT) The Beautiful Game of Hockey
No need to be riled, the whole 'women's intuition' was a JOKE, too. I am taking nothing said here seriously. [MMouse]: sdre

All the lyrics are in the liner notes too. - Cameron
Re: [MMouse]: busticate the perpetrators
Actually, it wasn't the kids that left me shuddering--Rick Tocchet took the Cup to bed w/ his wife--it was the entire scene. (Some guy eating minature hot-dogs off of tooth-picks, an over-abundance of procreation: real trailer-park bliss.) And really, complaining about Hatcher's kids beating the Cup with plastic swords is ridiculous. If that makes you cringe, you REALLY need to read up on yr Stanley Cup lore for some hilarious stories of Cup debauchery. I read a great story once in the Wall Street Journal about the gentleman whose job it is to escort the Cup everywhere.
RE: [MMouse]: [OT] !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Actually, kid, I don't want to read yr homo-erotica in private e-mail either. Sorry to see you come un-glued, but this was nothing but some 'competitive' chirping. Believe me, if it were (almost) any other team playing the Stars, I'd still be doing the same. Guess there are actually FOUR things in this world you shouldn't joke about it public. [MMouse]: The EP
Finally picked up the ep on the way home today. To me, the I Came as a Rat doesn't sound the same as the copy I already had. Then again, this might be due to one being on vinyl the other on cassette. Anyone else 'notice' that?
