[MMouse]: riverfest in noho!!!
hey is anyone else going to riverfest in northampton mass, on sunday...??? you don't know about riverfest? its going to be all day show at the 3 county fairgrounds from 12-8pm on sunday 9.24.00 who's gonna be there? this is where the excitement comes in . juliana hatfield- she rocks like yr mom ben harper- he's actually pretty cool sonic youth- at home in western mass, they left the cityscene, come sprawl on the lawn w/ the kids and hold yr baggy pants, sleater-kinney that's right, f**kin sleater- f**kin kinney you only wish yr sister was as cool as these women... at least i did, if i had a sister... thats pretty much it, i think theres other stuff, but news on the show has been pretty low-key... i think mainly because modest played providencerockcity on thurs... not selling nothing, mattnice

I'll register to vote as soon as they get a REAL actor in there, especially someone who has worked with primates...like CLINT EASTWOOD !
[MMouse]: value and savings!!!
hey list boys and girls!!! does anyone here know about www.swapit.com ?? its like this online used record store, where you can get rid of yr crap!!! and the best part is there is no postage on anything you send to them... their prices for buybacks are pretty fair, no worse than most real life stores, and no snotty guy looking down his nose at yr cherished copy of the first new edition cd, signed by bobby brown or biv and devoe... anyway, its kinda cool, but the sucky thing is , there are not too many records available to shop from, with yr credits... i have been hard pressed to find anything really even remotely must-have... this is why i beg of you to at least check it out... you get some kind of credit just for signing up... like 10 bucks or something... if it sucks, you can take turns spanking me like the naughty boy that i am... "baby, yr like visa, cuz yr everywhere i want to be" mattsmooth
[MMouse]: SLAB!!!

[MMouse]: the high price of being correct
so whats up with the beastie / rage tickets? $50.00 for general admission here in connectedicut.. i guess thats the price to pay to be trendy so what gives? is half the money going towards arming the zapatistas or the tibetan freedom fighters? or is it going towards a new basketball court for the beasties home studio? i know, i know dont go, cheapobut here in the land of nothing and nothing, honeydecent shows are few and far betweenso like a sheep i go bhhh!!! oh well, felt like venting a bit mattpo' "the ceilings the same as always, right above my head, in the hallway"

[MMouse]: overlooked and underappreciated
hey, did i miss it or did absolutely no one mention the swirlies? how could that be? with all the listing of bands and namedropping fav'rite sounds.surely someone also enjoys the swirlies. me thinks/hopes its the silent majority who chose to go listless and not read off their list of faves like they were reading the latest catalog from parasol... well, anyway, i just got the yes girls...its like the swirlies first record in forever...its not the best, but its pretty great all the same... thanks for being there, mattnyce

Re: [MMouse]: RE: M&A Vinyl??etc
>Other giveaways to the cheapness are how they always use the >same standard labels on the records and also lack of gatefold albums The Black Heart Procession 3 Song recording has a nice picture on the side that has no music. but, it's the only non-standard graphic I have ever seen on an Up LP. My main complaint lately with vinyl is definitely the packaging. Lack of gatefold, and/or lyric/info sheet is definitely crumby. I really do miss the days when records came with posters/lyric sheets/phone books/kitchen sinks/etc Not that there are not some great packagings out there.. Award for best packaging ever has to go to Godspeed You Black Emperor's f#a#(infinity) that thing comes with a PACKAGE.flat candian penny, flyers for shows, cryptic writings, prints of locomotive engines, etc ah pretty pictures to look at !!! and whats the deal with the moon and antarctica being priced at $17.99even the swell indie record shops are selling it for this price. i'll buy it tho, as i've already downloaded all the songs from napster and burned them on cd months ago...just wish there was more incentive to buy the lp other than supporting the band, etc. vinyl packages are like boxes of cereal. they should excite us to rip open the box/sleeve and delve in for the special prizes but even cereal has gone downhill. nowadays you have to collect 50 proofs of purchase and mail them to whomever to redeem whatever is probably out of stock anyway. argh matt
