Re: [mythtv-users] Script to create human readable symlinks

2005-02-06 Thread Chris Pinkham
I'm afraid you could have saved yourself some time. A script that does
this is already in the contrib folder :
  http://cvs.mythtv.org/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/mythtv/contrib/mythlink.sh?rev=1.2view=log

  Steven

Doh, that would have been a better starting point. And I run into Chris
yet again (first on Cajun, now on Myth - I am seeing a pattern... :-)
The script I submitted does try a little harder to handle missing and/or
redundant metadata (with multiple link naming schemes and sequence numbers).

 --Darren

Assume you meant me. :) I just committed a fix to mythlink.sh, I can't
take credit for writing the script, I believe that was Dale Gass according
to the comment at the top of the script.

Myth is the reason that I haven't spent any time on Cajun over the past
couple years.

Solved. If you start mythtv without DVB support compiled in and then your
recompile with DVB support, dvb tables are not created.

Subject: [mythtv-users] Tuning DVB-S channels

While I can watch satellite TV using dvbstream and mplayer, I cannot tune
any channel. Doing Scanning, scanning activity stops at 10% with the
following debug on console. No new channels are added.
I try to look at tables to insert manually, but I cannot find the old dvb*
tables present in old mythtv versions.

 Any help appreciated.

First off, it's mythweb, not webmyth. Several of us are only reading threads
about stuff we are working on or are interested in... Chris may well miss the
thread.

I've got a Siemens S45 phone and it's happy with the HTML generated by the
Mythweb 'wap' theme. I had to make some PHP code mods to get the program
recording capability working but everything else worked out of the
 box. Guess I'm just
lucky with my phone being flexible regarding what it will accept
 during a 'wap' session
as I tried to use online WAP emulators to test the Mythweb wap i/f but
 none of them
would play ball with the pseudo-wap pages generated.

Hmmm. Maybe you could send your changes to the author (or me) and we can work
on integrating them? To my knowledge, the WAP theme is currently unsupported.
Anyone who's interested in working on that theme would be encouraged to do so.

Ciao

[mythtv-users] Will XVideo work on this card?

2005-02-06 Thread Troy Foster
I just bought a Mad Dog Dominator Radeon 9550 128mb AGP graphics card
today. I didn't notice until tonight that according to many of you on
this list, xvideo will not usually work with ATI cards. This card
claims Graphics by ATI, but on CompUSA's website it lists the card as
having an NVIDIA chipset. Will XVideo work on this card or will I have
problems? My main goal with this pc is to watch stored dvd movies via
the s-video output on this card...

That routine was added by the japanese translator in order to support

Doesn't work with php included with slackware current :

Maybe the possibility to disable (or enable) the function in the config

You might want to check out local IP laws and applicable Terms of Use
to be safe. Your data would have to come from somewhere (i.e. TV
listings, etc.), and I'm not sure if the original publishers wouldn't
go after you if you tried to re-sell that data without permission. If
I'm not mistaken, even DVB EPG data - while being broadcast
Free-to-Air - isn't in the public domain.

I use webmin on my box, and on the mysql server page, select the

buttons. One is backup database, and the next one is execute sql.

the backup database button allows you to dump the entire db as a text
file containing sql commands. To restore that you click the execute
SQL button, select the sql commands file, and your database is restored.

I know you can do it from the command line, but webmin is nice and easy.

[mythtv-users] Recording suggestions.

2005-02-06 Thread Russ Dill
When scheduling recordings for a big list of things, like movies (ie,
clicking the movies button in mythweb), it'd be uselfull if movies (or
episodes) I have already recorded were highlighted or drawn with some
border, as scheduled recordings are.

It would be uselfull to be able to mark a recording for re-record. IE,
if the quality of the recording is substandard, but you don't want to
delete it, just replace it when it can be recorded again.

When telling mythweb to record any showing of the movie Lilo
Stitch, it also decided to record every episode of the cartoon Lilo
Stitch. I'm not sure how to prevent this.

This is probably in the works, but in the recorded programs browser,
it would be helpfull to collapse movies into a single category, as to
not clutter the list. This might also be usefull for sporting events.

I am planning the same upgrade and have similar equipment. I am planning on
upgrading to fc3 at the same time I upgrade to .17.

From reading the list it appears that the people who try to do the upgrade
via apt-get have quite a few problems. The people who do a upgrade from the
boot cd of the distro seem to have a fairly easy go of it. I have some extra
stuff running on my box so it may end up being a bit more work for me.

I hate to take down this system. It runs smoothly for weeks at a time.

[mythtv-users] RE: Script to check for POP3 mail and display From and Subject via mythtvosd

2005-02-06 Thread MadPatrick
Hello Jens...
I'm trying to run you script, which is very a nice add-on, but i've some
problems with the perl-module POP3Client.
Can you help with this.
I'm running FC1.

Thanks

Patrick

Hi,

I hacked up a quick perl script to show sender and subject of the 5
most recent mails on a POP account in a scroller via mythtvosd. It's
not perfect, but it does the job for me. (I have it running as a cron
job every 5 minutes - it remembers which messages it has already
checked.) It shouldn't do any damage - there aren't any functions that
attempt to delete any mail, and I've been running it without a hitch
for the last few days, but YMMV. (It does create - and occasionally
delete - a file called .uidl.txt in its user's home folder. Make sure
that beavior diesn't conflict with any other software you're running.)

It needs the Mail::POP3Client and MIME::WordDecoder perl modules to

[mythtv-users] Can anyone explain these messages that are logged?

2005-02-06 Thread Gary McMeekin
Hi, I am running a PVR-350 on FC3. Everything works fine except that
the /var/log/messages logs the follow approx. every 30 secs?

Feb 6 10:41:11 mythtv kernel: saa7115: decoder set size
Feb 6 10:41:12 mythtv kernel: saa7115: decoder disable output

Feb 6 10:41:16 mythtv kernel: saa7115: decoder set picture bright=127
contrast=63 saturation=63 hue=0

Is this cause for concern.

The only minor issue I am experiencing is that my channels 69 70 are
poor quality (snowy) but the rest of the 100 channels are great. I am
NTSC on Charter cable.

Even if it were possible - which, apparently, isn't the case, I
wouldn't do it. I tried daisy chaining Nova-T cards, which is possible
but leads to significantly lower signal quality for the 2nd card.
(Which, of course is more of a bad thing for digital signals than for
analogue ones.) I found that using a simple T-type splitter was a much
better way to connect both cards to the same antenna.

The saa7115 is a module used by the capture card. My logs are full of
them too, and I assume everyone else as well.

There are channel fine tuning controls that may help with your snowy reception.

[mythtv-users] Latest CVS of Mythweb + older CVS co of Mythtv .16

2005-02-06 Thread cythraul
Hi,

This will sound dumb as the solution would be to checkout an earlier
version of Mythweb from the CVS which would be compatible with the CVS
checkout of my compiled Mythtv...

Tho, I really like the updates made to Mythweb and I was wondering if
there was something I could do in order to make it work.

I can't, for the moment, checkout and compile Mythtv since I had to
patch it in order to gain some other functionality that cannot be
discussed here. The recent CVS changed too much for the patch to be
applied.

Even since I checked out Mythweb, I get this in the backend log every
time I (re)schedule something:

Unknown command: RESCHEDULE_RECORDINGS

I assume the method to queue the reschedule process has changed. Maybe
there's a way to call the old reschedule method...?

Thanks!

[mythtv-users] RCA D40W20 timings/settings/xorg.conf

2005-02-06 Thread Eric Nelson
I would like to know the correct Linux xorg.conf
modeline to use when
connecting an Athlon xp 1800 PC with a GeForce FX 5200
video card to an
RCA HDTV monitor (16:9 aspect ratio), model #D40W20.
I am using a DVI
cable to connect the two. When I use Jarrod's
xorg.conf at
http://wilsonet.com/mythtv/xorg.conf-HD.txt the output
is not distorted
(though with significant flickering). When I enter
these settings into Powerstrip, however, I don't get
any output to the HDTV after the Windows splashscreen.
This is the section of the file which is being
applied:
# My 960x540p mode
Mode 960x540p
DotClock 37.26
HTimings 960 976 1008 1104
VTimings 540 542 548 563
Flags +HSync +VSync
This from the Amazon D40W20 product description:
RCA's 40-inch-diagonal D40W20 widescreen HDTV monitor
gives you a
smooth, filmlike image when used with a
progressive-scan DVD player (or
480p-output DTV set-top box). This projection set
includes the latest
connectivity: a DVI input with HDCP (High-bandwidth
Digital Content
Protection), which allows transmission of uncompressed
digital video
signals from an HDTV set-top box (not included) to the
D40W20.

Progressive scanning, referred to as 480p for the
number of horizontal
lines that compose the video image, creates a picture
using twice the
scan lines of a conventional DVD picture, giving you
higher resolution
and sharper images while eliminating nearly all motion
artifacts. Both
of the set's high-definition (1080i/480p)
component-video inputs
benefit from the Syncroscan system, which
automatically performs
high-resolution pixel mapping from sources up to SXGA
resolution.

Sorry for rambling on, but I would really appreciate
some guidance.
Thanks in advance,

Eric

Simple, run MythVideo under KDE and when your player exits Myth will
not receive the focus back thus requiring you to alt-tab to it.

I have had something similar happen with blackbox. Sometimes when I
would launch a video, mplayer would start playing the file but the
focus would stay with mythtv, which meant that none of my keystrokes
worked in mplayer. This did not happen all the time, and come to think
of it, it may have to do with the fact that blackbox uses sloppy mouse
focus and my mouse may have moved during the viewing.

I finally just stopped using mplayer entirely in favour of xine and
everything seems to work ok now. It must be the difference in the way
the two programs capture the screen...

I have had similar (if not the exact same) problems. I just switched
the player for both optical and video file playback to xine and all is
well now.

Though I never took the time to figure it out exactly what causes
this, I think it has something to do with the way mplayer captures the
screen. It would seem that the keystrokes you enter are being
processed by mythtv which would suggest that mythtv still holds the
focus in your WM. It could be that if the mouse moves after mplayer
launches, the focus may return back to mythtv if sloppy window focus
is enabled.

[mythtv-users] Two Small Issues

2005-02-06 Thread Daniel Agar
I'm having 2 small problems with mythtv. The first is getting the frontend
to automatically start. I'm using blackbox and thats running nicely
loading everything through .xinitrc, but I boot to init 3 and have to
manually log in. How would I do automatic logins like this? I'd like to
place something in /etc/inittab but I'm not sure how to do it properly.

The other issue is that in MythVideo I can't get the 2nd half of two part
movies to disappear. The toggle browsable feature is not working, has
anyone else encountered this?

I was also wondering if theres anyway to cleanup the database, doing the
occasional dump for backup I noticed the database is about 45 MB, which
seems rather large.

I'm not familiar with emerge, and there doesn't seem to be a Mandrake command
for it. But the better news (won't call it good until I'm done); I compiled
the 2.6.11rc3 kernel and tried the exact same sequence using its skystar2

out why.

[mythtv-users] How to use Mythvideo

2005-02-06 Thread G.J. Werler
I want to play DVD's from the hard disk of my Mythtv box. I ripped a DVD
and it created a 6Gbyte .vob file. This file was placed in the MythVideo
directory. This directory was configured in the frontend
(Video Settings-General Settings-Dirctory that holds Videos)
to
/video/mythvideos

If I select Watch Videos in the frontend I see te directory
mythvideos/ but no files. I was expecting to see the .vob file so I
could select it and play it.
Is this how it should work or am I missing something?

I tried the mythtv manual at

[mythtv-users] RE: black screen on watching TV if channel fucked up - how can I switch the channel?

2005-02-06 Thread Felix Huttmann
Hi,

I have another problem. Have selected a channel were I get no signal.
Can anybody say me how I can switch the channel back to a working
one,
so that I can watch TV as before :-/?

Selecting watch TV doesn't let me switch the channel anymore in this
situation :-(.

I have the same problem, too. This is very annoying, for every broken
channel I have to do the same stupid procedure:
- kill mythbackend and mythfrontend
- enter mythtv-setup
- change the default channel to 1
( Why does it change the default channel, anyway ? Is it because then
it starts up with the same channel watched when it was shut down ? Can
  I turn that off somewhere ? )
- remove the broken channel from the list.
( I don't know how to remove channels in the channel editor, so I edit
its number to something 1000 )
- exit mythtv-setup
- start mythbackend and mythfrontend

Why does mythfrontend crash when the channel is broken ?
Is there no solution to this problem ?

Thank you !

Re: [mythtv-users] Upgrade from FC1 to FC2 or FC3?

2005-02-06 Thread Tomi Makinen
I just upgraded from FC1 to FC3 and only problem I ran into is that ivtv does
not run well at startup (some problems with modprobe.conf or something) and
rc.local is not run, so I need to manually start ivtv and lirc, when I
boot up the
computer. Otherwice, everything works well. I have one pvr 250. You might need
to do some hacking if you have ati and use tvoutput.

This is an x86 box with two (older) PVR-250's and an
  nVidia card.

[mythtv-users] audio not working on ONE channel

2005-02-06 Thread Jim Eskew
I have been using Mythtv for about 4 months, very happily. I am using FC2
with a PVR-250, and onboard audio (Dell 400SC PowerEdge). I use a nVidia
GeForce 4 MX 420 and Jarod's guide to build it.

For some reason for the last three days I have ONLY ONE channel in which
audio is not working. All the other channels currently work as normal.
Never had a problem with it before in the last four months. You can hear
some output if you turn the amp all the way up, but it is still soft, and
crackily. The bizarre part is, that if I plug the cable input straight into
my TV, the audio on this channel DOES work. So I know it's not the
broadcast. The same problem happens if it is a recording or liveTV. I live
on my own, so no one else has been messing with it. If it was any other
channel, I wouldn't mind, but this is the channel I watch most. Has anyone
else had this problem?? (obviously not because I searched the forum
beforehand, but if anyone might have a lead on what's going on, I'd
appreciate the help!!!)

ALSO, and this is less important because I've been living with it for the
past four months anyway, but when I am watching liveTV and that window pops
up saying that you have another recording that's about to start, no matter
what option you pick, when the timer gets to zero, the frontend freezes.
Still records, but I have to get my keyboard out to reset the frontend.
What I do is just panic and exit to the menu screen before the timer gets to
zero, but it is annoying when you're not paying attention and it freezes on
you. I know this issue has been addressed before, but I have not seen a
good solution for it.

While I'm here I might as well lay all my problems upon your gracious
earsyou see I just broke up with my girlfriend. Just kidding...my last
and final question is that my Poweredge apparently MUST have a monitor
attached to it to boot. This is extreemly annoying if the power goes out or
something and I have to lug my old ctr out of the closet. You would think
since this cpu is designed to be a server, this would not be a requirement,
but who knows--it's a dell. The monitor does not have to be turned on, or
even plugged in, but it must be attached. I tried just sticking a monitor
cable into the 15-pin connector, but it doesn't work because I think it has
to complete a circuit. I cannot find anyone who sells loopback plugs
either. I also tried turning off the monitor requirement at the bios, but
there is no such option. Any suggestions?

Jim

This feature is in CVS. You can toggle the view from the MENU or by
pressing the key/button bound to TOGGLEREC (usually R). It will show
the list of recording groups on the left and the shows on the right.
The current feature you're using is a filter to only show shows that

I'm not familiar with emerge, and there doesn't seem to be a Mandrake command
for it. But the better news (won't call it good until I'm done); I compiled
the 2.6.11rc3 kernel and tried the exact same sequence using its skystar2
module and it worked like a charm. I'll keep digging to see if I can figure
out why.

Probably because the kernel needs hot plug support enabled and the
Mandrake kernel didn't have it enabled. It is usually enabled by
default on the kernel.org kernels (at least since 2.6.9 I think), but I
could be wrong :-)

Does anybody have any clue as what might be going on?

I have had similar (if not the exact same) problems. I just switched
the player for both optical and video file playback to xine and all is
 well now.

I'll try that. Does anybody have a ~/.xine/keymap with the default MythTV
keybindings? Not that I won't get it right eventually, but it would be nice.

Though I never took the time to figure it out exactly what causes
this, I think it has something to do with the way mplayer captures the
screen. It would seem that the keystrokes you enter are being
processed by mythtv which would suggest that mythtv still holds the
focus in your WM. It could be that if the mouse moves after mplayer
launches, the focus may return back to mythtv if sloppy window focus
 is enabled.

The strangeness is that the first 5-10 minutes or so mplayer will still
receive key events, so it's not like mythfrontend stays on top. And sloppy
focus would be highly unlikely in Ratpoison, since every window is
fullscreen, no way to move the pointer 'on' another window AFAIK.

Hi Chris,

I checked out mythweb from 2005-01-23 (random date, since I can't
remember when the function was updated :) and copied the function
backend_notify_changes from this checkout to my current cvs tree and
it worked:

2005-02-06 16:15:58.592 Found changes in the todo list.
2005-02-06 16:15:59.179 Scheduled 270 items in 0.6 seconds.

Is that better than coping the whole mythbackend.php file? I figured
that future updates to this file will be applied unless this function
is specificly updated. In that case, cvs will report it and I can fix
it more easily...

Tho, I don't understand why you suggest removing the sleep command
(?) since it's the same in both the new and the old function:

// Give the backend time to catch up?
if ($sleep  0)
sleep($sleep);

Tho, in the arguments of the function, the old one only has $sleep
while the new one has $recordid and $sleep. I'm not sure how to deal
with that since now it is now working...

Thank you very much!

 I'll try that.

Tried it: xine -pfhq --no-splash %s

The first time the movie is in color, the second time it get's kind of grainy
and the 3rd time it's grayscale.. normal myth playback has turned grayscale
too.

Restarted X, still grayscale. Restarted machine, same procedure same outcome,
started with color, goes to grayscale. Tried to grab some sort of log from
xine, didn't work with a pipe ( xine -... %s xinelog ) on the settings
screen, tried with a bash script, and with added --verbose, still doesn't
work :-/

Switched back to mplayer (no reboot), color is back, but of course same
keyboard problem.

Anyone has a clue on how to work around this?

Does anybody have a ~/.xine/keymap with the default MythTV

Found one, which though doesn't seem to map the quit key properly, will look

Tho, I don't understand why you suggest removing the sleep command
(?) since it's the same in both the new and the old function:
// Give the backend time to catch up?
if ($sleep  0)
sleep($sleep);
current versions of backend_notify_changes pass a recordid in as the
first parameter, not sleep. if the recordid is 1000, you don't want
mythweb to sleep for 1000 seconds.

the old scheduler didn't need a recordid -- the new one is optimized and
prefers it. I don't think that the sleep function has been used in a
long time.

Of the several versions I've tried, my best success is with
0.1.10pre2-ck111 with NTSC. I don't get closed captioning. With other
versions, including some 0.2 version, I got choppy recordings when I
didnt' get lockups. The sound was solid, the video off as if half the
frames were recorded. I tend to run 480x480, with different bitrates for
different recording qualities. I run stock 0.16 recompiled for my CPU

Well, the devs are still applying patches to CVS, so yes there are
differences between what you have and what the .17 will be, read thru
the commits to see what they are and if you want any of them. If so,
just wait till .17 is announced, get the tarball from the site, and
build and install over the CVS you have now.

Re: [mythtv-users] reliable australian EPG

2005-02-06 Thread Phill Edwards
i've been a mythtv user for about six months and i'm constantly
frustrated by the lack of a decent EPG for australian tv. or, for that
matter, any EPG at all that lasts for more than a few months.

i'd like to create a reliable, comprehensive EPG for australians,
containing full episode titles, description, genre, etc...

the downside of this is that it would take up a substantial amount of
my time to do something like this, and i'm a full-time uni student
with two part-time jobs. i was thinking that maybe if i charged, say,
a $10-$20 annual fee for the service, i could afford to quit one of
 those jobs. this isn't a money-making exercise, i don't like charging
for it, but i'd really like to see a good australian EPG, and it's a
time-consuming task and i just don't have that kind of time at the
 moment.

i'd really like to see an australian EPG that can be relied upon and
has comprehensive info, so i'm hoping i can make this a reality. the
crucial factor though is how many people would sign up for it.

Yes - I would pay that much. However, you will find that the EPG data
is not available for you to onsell on a commercial basis and if you
did the TV companies here in Oz would come after you for breaching
their copyright. This has been covered many time on this list. It's a
shame, but that's the commercial reality we have with the TV stations
here in Oz at the moment.

The version which has been posted in this thread works flawlessly in
my experience so unless a problem arises with it then there's no
problem to fix at the moment, is there?

You could get involved in the OzTivo work where the community manually
enters full program details into a database which can then be read by
grabbers. There was talk of integrating a MythTV grabber with that but
I think there was general lack of enthusiasm from the MythTV
community. However, this would seem to be the best long term solution
as there are no copyright issues. Search the gossamer archives for
details.

On David's point on the schedule overruns, I think we will never have
a solution to that other than adding 10mins onto the recording end
time. I think it would be very unlikely that the schedule would be
updated to reflect late runs. I doubt the TV stations even think of it
as late!

Where can i get a list of the frequencies that I need to use for the

I had similar issues and what I did was reduce the resolution (the card

increase the bitrate (I'm using MPEG-4 for my case). The lower
resolution should look just as good and the increased quality should

I just bought the PVR-250MCE for $99 from www.pcalchemy.com. The price

The differences between the -250 and -250MCE is that the MCE does not

[mythtv-users] Mythweb protocol conflict?

2005-02-06 Thread Eric Webb

Hi guys,

I've been running MythTV 0.16 (backend reports v 0.16.20041106-1) under Linux
successfully for a while and recently downloaded the MythWeb 0.16 plugin.
After doing the necessary config and hitting the web browser for the first
time (hitting mythweb/ doc root), I get the following error:

User Notice at /var/www/htdocs/mythweb/includes/mythbackend.php, line 129:
   Incompatible protocol version (mythweb=13, backend=14)

Both were downloads from official downloads from the website and not from CVS.
Why the difference when both are 0.16?

If I force mythweb's MYTH_PROTO_VERSION to 14 (in includes/mythbackend.php),
the complaint goes away and most pages work, except for two:

If I click on Scheduled Recordings, I get nothing but about 20 of:
   Warning at /var/www/htdocs/mythweb/includes/programs.php, line 307:
   Invalid argument supplied for foreach()
I tried some debug statements in programs.php and without wading through
everything, it doesn't seem like stuff is getting passed to function Program.

If I click on Recorded Programs, I get the page header and about 5-6 of:
   Warning at /var/www/htdocs/mythweb/includes/sorting.php, line 42:
   Invalid argument supplied for foreach()

I'm using PHP 4.3.7 on Apache 1.3.31... php is a little newer than what the
devs supposedly use, but is this really a problem?

[mythtv-users] LIRC problems in MythTV

2005-02-06 Thread Robin Smith
So after months of happy Mything on FC2 2.6.8-1.521, I decided to
update my kernel to FC2 2.6.9-1.11. After fighting with ndiswrapper
(current version doesn't work and I forgot I had to re-install each
time I changed the kernel) and the breaking video capture (the latest
ivtv drivers recognized my PVR-250 as a PVR-150 and wouldn't work, so
I rolled back to ck100zz), I still can't get my Universla remote
working.

Basically, irw works in that it reports incoming remote presses the
way it did before. I am confident my lircrc and lircd.conf file are
correct (they worked on my 2.6.8 config). But, the remote does nothing
in MythTV.

If I do a dmesg after a modprobe ivtv I get this in the results:
ivtv: i2c client addr: 0x40 not found!

Any ideas?

In looking at Jarod's guide, there are a bunch of differences for FC3
than FC2. I ams till on FC2 but a newer kernel than when his FC2 guide
was written. How much of the new stuff applies ot my newer FC2 kernel?

Everything else is good, just back to using the keyboard as a giant
remote. Help would be appreciated.

[mythtv-users] remote control options

2005-02-06 Thread MythTV

First let me say I did search the list archives but didn't find answers to

I'm using v0.16

Is their a way to define my Radio Shack 8-in1 remote GUIDE button to
actually open up the guide? Right now it opens the menu and then I have to
use select to open the guide. Maybe its just a problem with the programming
on my remote. I used Jarud's remote howto to setup things.

Is their a way to page up or down in the program guide, instead of going up
or down item by item?

When watching a recorded show is their a way to skip to the beginning or end
of the video?

Thanks for any help with these last little issues with my myth box.

Some of the things are possible (such as EPG page up/down), others may

# 'linux/dvb/frontend.h', not the directory with frontend.h
# Note: This _must not_ be your linux kernel source includes. Copy the dvb

#INCLUDEPATH += /usr/src/linux/include/linux/dvb
INCLUDEPATH += /usr/src/dvb-kernel/linux/include/linux/dvb

I tried /usr/src/dvb-kernel/linux/include/linux/dvb and

Is there another frontend.h I'm supposed to be using? Since I'm using the

Re: [mythtv-users] Bottom of GUI window hangs screen

2005-02-06 Thread Joe Votour
Increase your screen resolution, and you shouldn't
have any problems. Also, it could be an issue with
your X server font size.

If Qt is like most other GUI toolkits that I've worked
with, then they'll gladly render items off of the
screen viewable area if they won't fit (or if
explicitly told to).

I would say that in this case, the screens were
designed around a certain screen size, and a certain
font size, and if you don't match that, then you'll
possibly have items off the screen.
