Thanks for the reply ... I have heard from a couple of other
list-members that the msg. came thru fine on their end as well ... So it
could be that the problem is with the app. that is reading the msg. and
not with KMail ... For example, if I send a msg. to my Yahoo! acct. the

Hi ...

Just discovered this myself, so I'm please to have an opportunity to share it!

From the K Menu go to
Configuration - KDE - LookNFeel - Taskbar

Under Taskbar there's a checkbox that reads

Show windows from all desktops

Uncheck that and you will only see the open apps/files/etc for each desktop
you're actually in ... (So when you go to your mp3 desktop, then you'll see
your mp3 player, etc, but not the Open Office apps/files ... )

Hope this helps ...

Root usually does not have the current directory in the execution path,

 ./a.out

should work. A better plan would be to log in as a regular user.

If anyone has any advice as to how to get the C programs to execute when
booting into a non-graphical environment it'll be most appreciated ...

[newbie] Real Player and Aumix

Hello,
Today I installed the Real Player plugin so that I can listen to various radio
programs on the web, including Car Talk. Plugin works fine. But there is a
problem (it seems) with Aumix. The hour long Car Talk program is broken into
10 or so segments of a few minutes each ... Everytime one segment ends and
the next begins, Aumix sets the volume level on PCM to zero ...

Can someone please explain to me why this is happening, and better yet, how to
stop it from happening in the future!
