Re: creative zen stone
Hi. You really don't need the creative media lite utility as far as actually transfering files to the player is concerned. You can simply use windows explorer and transfer them just as you would any other drive that shows up under windows explorer. How cool is that! No extra software to use, none of that. Do you have a bit of usable vision? If so, there is a small orange LED light on the player that continually flashes while it's charging, and when it's completely charged, the light stays on. How I do it is I just plug it into the USB port when I'm not using it. It makes sure that I don't lose the player, and it also makes sure that it's fully charged all the time. So yep, you can use the program, but you really don't have to, unless you're super curious. go to http://www.creative.com/zenstone and it's there. Hope that helps. Re: creative zen stone
Hi, Several people have mentioned the creative media lite utility, and how you can monitor the zen stone's charging process with this utility. Where can I find this utility? I got no CD or anything with my zen stone. I just plugged it in my USB port, and it was ready to go. Any help with this would be appreciated. And I have the 1 GB Creative Zen Stone. I agree there are plenty of people who seem to like to complain even though they don't know what they're talking about, but I don't think the blind are any more prone to doing this than the general population. I would like to think that the blind are better than the general population in many respects, but I think the fact of the matter is that we're all human and that includes the bad along with the good. I'd like to say I get a laugh out of people who paint the blind with such broad strokes, but I resent stereotyping like this whether it comes from within the disabled community or without. On another subject, I've seen people praising Apple for their attention to accessibility, and although the iPod and the iPhone may have some features built into them with accessibility in mind, the fact of the matter is that these products came to the market and were not accessible. I realize that not every product will be accessible, and I'm not sure every product needs to be, but I really don't think Apple is any better than any other company with respect to making their products accessible. I also must admit, I don't always see the appeal of the Apple products, other than they are stylish. I've had Creative alternatives to the iPod Shuffle, an iRiver MP3 player running Rockbox and a cell phone running a screen reader with an MP3 player, digital camera and a bunch of other features. hand bells
Hello. i know this is probably off topic, so if noting else, I would appreciate it if someone could point me in the direction of a list where this topic might be more appropriate. I just joined the women's hand bell choir at my church, and the director and I are looking for ways to make my participation easier. I can't read braille sheet music, but aside from that, I'm open to any ideas that anyone might have. If anyone out there has experience with handbells and would be willing to correspond with me off list, I would really appreciate it a lot. Re: creative zen stone
Yeah this is true, but the reviews I've read, as well as my own experience, says it's more like six to seven hours. The Creative Media Lite utility does tell you whether the Zen Stone has a full charge or not, so you can at least make sure you're starting off with a full battery. creative zen stone
Hi all, I just got my new zen stone today in the mail. I just plugged it up to my computer. How long does it take to charge initially? And do I have to wait until it is done charging, or will it play while it is hooked up to the computer charging? I just did not know if it can get its power from the USB port to play while it is charging. All help is appreciated. RE: creative zen stone
The 2 GB model is known as the Zen Stone Plus and is supposed to be rather less accessible than the 1 GB Zen Stone. The Zen Stone Plus has a voice recorder and FM radio, I believe, while the 1 GB model is just a music player. Re: 6th generation IPOD's Comin
The problem is with acessability that you're never really going to come up with a perfect product all of the time unless something is built for specific needs. Looking at the I Phone again, I told you about how one way this product could be made accessible, ok that means you have to carry another device around but that's easier and cheaper for everyone than changing the total design of the I Phone or bringing out a totally new model. creative zen stone
hello friends, i recently purchased the zen stone player, delighted with it, unfortunately, i got the one gigabyte version, didn't know there was a two gig version until a week after i had purchased this one, but really no problem, for a totally blind person it is so easy to operate, just one thing i need to know, how long is the running time, how many hours can i run it before recharging it?? the headphones that come with it are rubbish, but i do have a very natty and extremely good set of headphones that came with a radio someone gave me last year, anyway, can someone tell me how long this little baby runs without needing a recharge, regards from ireland, travel safely, joe. Right, I miss-read this message the first time around, I thought you were referring to mp4 files, the files you're downloading I can't comment on really but I suspect they're a varriant of what I've already written about in my previous message. Re: COVERTING AND DEALING WITH LOSSLESS FORMATS
Ok well perhaps I didn't explain myself terribly accurately. I thought what you wanted to do was to convert from Apple Lossless to FLAC, to my knowledge, Itunes won't perform that conversion so you'd have to make or use an additional applescript if you were using Itunes with apple or a batch file with Windows to permit this. As far as losing quality? Well, they don't call em "lossless formats" for nothin . On 20/07/2007, at 3:26 AM, G. Various options regarding accessability for the I phone are being explored, the most likely being the use of a blue tooth or similar keyboard. May I remind listers that if Apple certainly haven't done anything about speech on a mobile phone then neither has Nokia, Samsung or most other phone manifacturers, its been up to third party developers to get that ball rolling such as those who have developped Talks, Hal who have a system out to get mobile phones to speak etc. On 19/07/2007, at 10:56 AM, Don Ball wrote: maybe it has a touch screen like the I Phone. Yup. If your visually impaired you might be able to squint and see the phone. Just another way to burn out what vision you may have left. Blind organisations have actually made feelings known about the touch screen on an I phone but having said that Apple has done allot to impliment accessability into the device, the nature of the device stops us from using it which is unfortuante however if you have a bit of vision then you'll have no trouble whatsoever in using the I phone I'm told. Sound editor which works on flac files?
Hello, is there an editor which will open up flac files to edit them, and then save back to flac when done? It would save me a step if I didn't have to convert to .wav, load the .wav in Sound Forge, save back to .wav, and convert again to flac. Thanks a lot. Windows Media Player on PDA and various formats
Hello Cornell! The Cingular 8525 does have a memory card slot for more storage, but I am not sure how, or if, one could add memory to the phone. That's probably something one would have to take into a shop for I suppose, but I don't know. How does your wife add memory to her T-Mobile Phone? It it a software thing or must one insert memory (RAM) sticks? My Windows Media does play some things (movie clips and songs from stuff from the mobile phone system), but nothing I generate, like my web site stuff or radio stations (including ACB Radio). During a demo of this phone on a blog and Code Factory, the structor played something from a radio station and an MP3, but he didn't mention anything about memory. Maybe you ca n shed some light on this issue for me. I am not that familiar with memory adding on a PDA, but would like to learn about it. thanks very much for your assistance and info. Re: creative zen stone
Hi. What do you mean by "the serial"?not sure about that? the only serial number I know of is a number that's found on the box of the package when you get it, and it's usually used to register your product. and in case anyone's doing searches for it, it's actually called the Creative Zen Stone, no key in there. If by serial you mean the model number for it, there's really only one model and it's 1 gig, so unless you get something else, that's what you'll get. I've only ever seen the Creative Zen Stone in a 1 gig model, so I believe that's all there is. At 12:25 AM 7/19/2007, you wrote: >I was reading about the creative Zen keystone player.
