HI,
You'll probably have to buy a new serial number for your new Nero. But if it
came with a new unit then the serial is provided on the disk.

Don, why don't you use poweriso for that purpose?

Donald L. Roberts said the following on 18.06.2007 07:11:
 Hello,

I have one desktop running Nero 5 and another running Nero 6. The
operating system for each is XP home.

I cannot figure out in either Nero 5 or in Nero 6 how to make an iso
image of a cd. I can do the reverse; that is, I can burn a cd from an
iso image, but I need to know how to create an iso image from a cd.
Although I doubt that it matters, it is a home brew music cd. So there
 is no copyright issue.

 Thanks for ideas.

You need a ripping program to copy the file to your hard drive. It will
appear as a WAV file on your hard drive, but you can specify another format

Re: nero question

2006-06-18 Thread Tyler Wood
Hi,

I just found out something today!

It seems I was looking in the wrong place for the meanings of the
filters--they're all right there in the help! Number 2 is you can test the
filters. Jaws doesn't tell you sometimes (like in the equilizer, for
instance) what is 50 percent). So you test filters (tab to the button) and
keep hitting end and home in the EQ. There are multiple um, I don't know
what they are called...err...progress bars. While your testing the filters
you can fiddle around with these. There are around 4 for bass boost, I'm not
sure. There are a lot, though. Now another question- how do you go about
making a cd that has *no* silence in it at all?

thanks,
Tyler

Well while focused on a filter in the list, you route jaws to pc. Then
 left
arrow until you hear a graphic number. Now by default they are all
unchecked. So you press insert G and type in something like unchecked or
 not checked.
Now if you do that on a few filters and you hear a different graphic
 number
than the first one, then that would mean it has a different checked
 status.
But it really isn't too hard to figure out what is checked and not
 checked,
because as I said I think they are all unchecked by default.
But don't forget even after you label them, you still need to press insert
up arrow to do a say line in order to hear the graphic label.

Brian, it seems there is a checkbox in from of each of the filters that
 jaws
isn't indication. If you label the graphics as checked and unchecked for

 you
if it is checked or not.

That brings up a question I've been wondering about. How can one make

Re: nero question

2006-06-18 Thread Debbie Scales
Tyler I don't know the answer to your question, but thought I might add a
few things that might help.
You can just press alt T for the test filters button, and then alt P to stop
playing. That will save you from having to tab so much.
Actually alt P works to press the stop playing button except for the
normalize filter dialog. And that is because they have also used alt P for
the percent combo box. It shows that although somebody thought to put
shortcut keys in, they must not have actually tried them, ha ha.
Also I was going to suggest you could build a frame around the window with
the help description so as you arrow up and down the filters, you could just
press a keystroke to have it read.
But really once you have read the information with your jaws cursor the
first time and learned what the filters are, you probably won't need to be
reviewing them often. You will just be interested in what you can set in
that window for each filter.

Brian, it seems there is a checkbox in from of each of the filters that
 jaws
isn't indication. If you label the graphics as checked and unchecked for
example, then if you do a say line on each of the items, it will tell you
if it is checked or not.

You can get to the filters by hitting CTRL-ENTER on one of the tracks, and
then CTRL-TABBING twice. Though I don't know how to tell when a filter is
 selected.

That brings up a question I've been wondering about. How can one make
 sure
they aren't using any of the filters? I do all of my normalizing and
 other
processing during the editing faze before I'm ready to burn the CD's, so I
don't want any of the filters to be active.

 Hi all,

I have nero 7. I was reading in the help or such that there are filters
in the properties of the tracks you want to burn (in the listview of
 added
tracks). How do I select a filter (for that matter, how do I select
multiple filters in a listbox with JFW?). And, also, I looked through the
help file and couldn't find what the filters mean. Can anyone help me?
(how do you adjust the equilizer and how do I know what I'm adjusting?
What does fade in/fade out mean? all of those-- I don't have an idea what
the effects are, simply because I don't know what I'm looking for, if I
have to do it one track at a time, if I even selected a filter...etc
etc...). I'm using a somewhat accessible nero express (copy and paiste
songs into it, but that's the only downside- it could be a lot worse).
 Any
 help would be greatly appriciated.

Re: nero question

2006-06-17 Thread Debbie Scales
Well while focused on a filter in the list, you route jaws to pc. Then left
arrow until you hear a graphic number. Now by default they are all
unchecked. So you press insert G and type in something like unchecked or
not checked.
Now if you do that on a few filters and you hear a different graphic number
than the first one, then that would mean it has a different checked status.
But it really isn't too hard to figure out what is checked and not checked,
because as I said I think they are all unchecked by default.
But don't forget even after you label them, you still need to press insert
up arrow to do a say line in order to hear the graphic label.

Re: nero question re burning mp3 compilation

2006-01-23 Thread Robert Stokes
Hi Alan,

When the window with an Iso title opens, press Tab twice and you should land
somewhere on your C drive. You can then locate the folder containing your
MP3 files using the up and down arrow keys or by typing the first letter in
the name of the folder. Tab again and this should take you to the list of
MP3 titles and you can highlight the ones you wish to burn. I'm using Nero
Version 6, so the following instructions may be different for 5.5. If they
are the same, holding down Ctrl and pressing number 1 on your keyboard will
add the highlighted files to those in the list on your CD. Alt+R will put
you in Record menu and arrowing down once will put you on Burn Compilation.
Press Enter and the Burn Compilation window will open. Press Enter again and
the burn process should start.

It's a long time since I used Version 5.5 but I have the feeling these later
keystrokes will not be the same. If they don't work, try some variations.
I'm probably wrong but I have the feeling F2 was used.

Good luck.

Robert.

Re: nero question about folders?

2005-11-27 Thread julie dawson
What I do is I enter Nero and tab past multi-session (set to none) and new
to the listview and downarrow to audio cd and press enter. Then I type alt-v
and f and browse for the folder you have already compiled. Once the folder
is open and the tracks are there, control-A for select all, control-1 to add
the tracks to the compilation cd and type alt-f and w and tab until it says
write and hit spacebar or enter. In the tab choices you will find choices as
to how many copies, if you want to cd to be finalized with no additional
writing to it )which I have checked), etc. Hope this helps.

Well Rob it's strange because I burned another movie and it burned just
fine but a couple of them don't want to burn as i'm getting the error. I do
have Ifoedit and I can run them through that and see if it will burn after
that. I'll give the Ifoedit a try. I hope I won't dammage the movies.
 Thanks for answering.

If you are burning to a DVD RW, then go ahead and try it.
it may play.
if not, you will need to create new ifo and bup files using a program
called IfoEdit.

I'm trying to burn a Movie and the audio and video TS folders are fine

when I go to tell Nero to burn it i am getting an error that says
Reallocation Failure. This dvd may not be playable. It asks me if I want
to
continue. So I next burned another movie basically the same size and
 used
the same dvd rewriteable and it burned fine. The movie itself plays just
fine. What would cause Nero to give me this kind of error? I am using

Re: nero question

2005-08-07 Thread Kevin Lloyd
Hi Stephen.

In very crude terms, disc at once means that the whole disc is burned
without the laser pausing or switching off temporarily whereas track at once
means that a track is burned, the laser is temporarily paused and then
resumes again to burn the next track.

Disc at once is the default and yields best results for audio compilations,
copying CD's and the like. Track at once is more often used when burning
data CD's or if you are burning an audio compilation from a bunch of source
CD's rather than files on your hard drive.

Regards.

can anyone shed some light on what the difference is and when i would likely
use either of these options. the default is disk - it - once. thanks in

Hi, Marie, your windows sounds should be on your windows cd, just go to
the control pannel, then to add remove programs, and the tab to the
right of the install tab is windows setup, just go there, and windows
will search for the installed components, then arrow down the list to
multi-media, and if it says partially checked, then tab to the details
button, and press the space bar, and in that list, you'll find the
multi-media sound schemes. If it is unchecked, check it with the space
bar, and have your windows cd handy, as it will ask for that, and then
 your sounds should be installed.

Re: Nero Question

2004-06-28 Thread mimi
Hello, DJC.

I have Nero. After the Compile a New CD, enter on Next.
Arrow down to Data CD then go to Next.
The program will aks, Compile a new data CD?
Again, go to Next.
Then, F for Finish.
A blank Iso will show up.

Go into the Nero window and then to File Browser.
Enter on Browser, then arrow up and down to find the folder you want to
select.
Select that folder and copy it to Clipboard, then go to iso 1.
Paste folder in iso1.
Reenter the window and arrow down to Write CD
and press Enter.
Press Enter on Burn.
If, however your folder is too large, the program will warn you and will not
start burning. If the folder does not exceed 648mb the burning process will
start.

A personal note: I got away with burning 700mb of stuff, then later
discovered some errors on the discs and some of the affected mp3's would not
play at all. So, now I stopped this and am reorganizing and redoing my
music collection and am not exceeding the limit anymore. So, you see, I
learned the hard way.

My burner runs at 52x.

Oh, I have my Verifying data checked so the burner will automatically open
and close the door when that process begins after burning.

I do not know if I am making sense all the way. If I am mixed up about
something, it is harder for me to give directions on some of this stuff and
much easier to do, since I do this a lot.

Take care and have a nice one.

Mimi

If you want to make mp3 CD's, just choose to burn a data disk in Nero. Copy and paste
the folders either from Nero's file browser or Windows Explorer into the Nero
compilation window with CTRL+1. When finished, just choose the CD recording option
from either the File or Recorder menu, depending on which version of Nero you are
using.

what version of nero are you using? if 6, you have to shift tab to the list
of format types, nero defaults to cd-rom (iso) which is data.

Re: Nero question

2004-05-23 Thread Andrea Sherry
Last things first.
You can burn an audio disk to an .nrg image with Nero. It seems to be the
only program (I'll probably get jumped on *grin*) that will save an audio
disk image. You can then mount the image and test with whichever is your cd
player.
So far as that problem with the individual tracks is soncernec, somewhere in
the options for the burn there is a checkbox that says something like trim
silence from the end of tracks. May be you might uncheck this. Sometimes
these options are too severe. You might also try taking the speed of your
burn down a couple of stops. Also I use disk-at-once and get perfect
results.
If you want any clarification of anything here. email me off list and i'll
let you have my voice number and may be you can call me some evening.
Cheers

Subject: Nero question

I have created a CD with the tracks joined together as discussed in
previous emails here, but there are two problems happening.

 1. the tracks are joined, but the last second or so of the first track is
repeated, like a stutter, as if to fill up the gat.

The other thing is that on a couple of disks that I have tried to burn
when
trying to solve this, (and I have wasted about 10 disk), the sound skips
 and stop starts often.

what settings might I adjust to try to solve these things.

and can I burn to an image without burning to disk, so I can test this
 without making coasters?

Re: Nero question

2004-05-23 Thread Peter Scanlon
Thanks. I think I have your number from some time back.
The disks I am burning which give me that problem at the track joins seem
to play fine in stand alone CD players and also in Windows Media. So I
figure Winamp is the culprit.

I note that the skip start stop effect is also happening in Windows Media,
and also it is happening with a commercial CD, so that I would think that
means some problem with the actual CD burner.

In the properties of the tracks in Nero. What I do is select the tracks from
track2 to the end. Then press Alt-enter and check the cross fade with
previous track option and then ok. This w2orks perfectly. To check all you
need to do is press $7 from Nero before and then after this cross fading
manoeuvre and seenthe difference. A further check would be to save the
compilation to an .nrg file and then mount to a virtual drive and just let
your default player pay it as an audio cd.

Well I'm using Nero 6. there are 2 menu choices in the track properties
dialog box the first being track properties and the second being filters. By
default you will be in track properties. Just shift-tab (left) until you
hear ok and then one more shift-tab which will put you on to the
cross-fade with previous track checkbox. My WE 4.5 Pro announces this
cdheckbox.
