RE: PESO - Down In Indiana
I went back to this one in view of the concerns some have mentioned, and I must say the truck doesn't bother me: in fact, I think it adds to the composition. My eye went immediately to the red barn, as one might expect, and then travelled to the right along the arc to the truck, before going to the sky. My only quibble would be I would have gone as close to the fence as possible to look over the top of the rusty wire and posts! My current ones for 3.5" drives support three hardware protocols in their latest revisions (eSATA, FW800, and USB3). They're very fast enclosures too. USB3 seems the most cost effective speed for the money at the present; I have two Thunderbolt SSD drives that are faster still but they're still double the price for the capacity, at least. That's the way it SHOULD work. I think the new version of Thunderbird broke that. "Reply" goes to the individual sender, "Reply List" goes to the list mailbox and "Reply All" goes to anyone who was "CC:". Re: Strange thing
That has happened to me for several years already. :-( I looked into routing agreements between providers, but that didn't fit the pattern. An original email from Australia, Russia or the Philippines was just as likely to get lost in space as was the ones from Ohio, Michigan or California. It could be a glitch in the PDML list software, of course, but I find that unlikely. If it was, I kinda think that it would affect the same messages for everyone, which it doesn't. As Dan Matyola says, some may end up in end-user spam folders. Spam filters are in effect at provider level too. I believe what happens is that the email providers have quarantine bots that flag and withhold messages based on simple rules, and then use more sophisticated analysis to release the messages if deemed harmless. This would explain why original postings can arrive from PDML days after its comments; or not arrive at all if it didn't pass the rules. At one point, I subscribed to PDML from both gmail and my own domain to look for differences, and there were. Even when telling gmail and my domain's mail server to "whitelist" everything from pdml.net, some messages were either delayed or lost. And still not always the same messages. Keeping track of two accounts that way was too tedious to be a solution, though, so I grudgingly settled for using my private domain, where I felt that I had more control over the mail filtering. When needed, I go to the PDML archives to see the original posts. PESO - Night and Day
Finally getting near the end of 2011 (although not all pages are hooked in yet). Two PESOs, actually. An iconic San Francisco Landmark, Coit Tower. (Built 1933, money donated by a wealthy SF socialite.) There are also some great art deco era murals inside. But I was shooting it from a distance, from a SF pier. Coit by Day http://www.mapphotography.org/PAWS/pages/coitday.htm Coit at Night http://www.mapphotography.org/PAWS/pages/coitnight.htm Comments welcome. Marnie aka Doe (I have not yet figured out how to size PESOs, maybe they should have been 800, not 900.) -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.

Re: Strange thing
Maybe. For me there is no difference between Reply and Reply List. As far as I can figure out (and I have double checked). All are going to p...@pdlm.net. My problem is, when I have Thunderbird filter by Threads turned on (may be called something else, forget now I got it turned on), when I hit reply then it goes to that thread. My normal method, in the past, for posting a PESO was to just randomly choose a thread and a post and hit REPLY. Fill in a new subject line with PESO - Name and hit return. And that would START a new thread. With Thunderbird show by thread on, it doesn't. Simple solution, though tedious, now when posting a PESO I don't hit reply. I just do a new write, new subject line, and type in pdml@pdml.net for the address (although there must be a macro or something that would fill that in for me). You can't send a message to all the list members individually, because you don't have their email addresses - there is no "Reply All" ability. If you just "Reply", the mailer program is supposed to use the reply address specified in the "Reply-To" header. (Which, for most email lists, is set to the list email address). The problem people are complaining about is that Thunderbird has, as of the latest release, chosen to ignore the requirements of the email protocols, and when the user hits Reply is sending the reply to the original poster (using the address supplied in a different header), and only to that person - the message never gets sent to the list. -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.

Thanks, Godfrey. I have a Mercury Elite Pro Mini enclosure sitting here with a 500GB (empty) drive. I just ordered a 2TB drive for it, which is the largest that will fit. Re: Strange thing
Correct me if I am wrong. If an email is sent to a list (such as the PDML), & you use "Reply List" or "Reply All", then you reply goes individually to all members of the list as well as the list mailbox. If you use "Reply", then your reply goes only to the list mailbox. Listers would then down load at their leisure. This explains why some posts are received double if "Reply List" is used - once from the list mailbox & once directly from the poster.
