Re: [PHP-DOC] Re: Getting more people involved.. bye bye Docbook

2013-08-13 Thread pedram salehpoor
I was unable to find any decent rtl extension for Markdown except some
javascript stuff
but Docutils uses Python code and CSS to give bidirectional support to rst.

It seems no rtl language has ever given any thought to use these in large
scale or maybe I was unable to find them.

Markdown or anything easier than Docbook seems brilliant but What will
happen to right to left languages?

We couldn't solve the rtl problem in Docbook. Will the problem persist in
the new format?

I remember that I proposed to change the system myself but as I proceeded I
realized nothing really can overcome the problems better than this.

I don't like outsourcing Idea. The best possible solution is to merge them
in documentation.

The main problem is that each of us has his own area of interest and can
merge them best. As Hannes said better to encourage develepers.

If we can have notes for untranslated files (not committed in a language)

2010-04-08 Thread pedram salehpoor
The task would be adding type fields and reply to textbox to

http://svn.php.net/viewvc/web/php/trunk/manual/add-note.php?view=markup

modifiying the below script to accept the added fields,

http://svn.php.net/viewvc/web/php-master/trunk/entry/user-note.php?view=markup

adding fields definition to database:

http://svn.php.net/viewvc/web/php-master/trunk/note.sql?view=markup

I'm not completely sure how the mirror sites operate so someone should get
them running.

voting form and showing the point for the note from database should be added
to

http://svn.php.net/viewvc/web/php/trunk/include/shared-manual.inc?view=markup

which should have a receiving script that should be written.

[PHP-DOC] user notes proposal

2010-04-08 Thread pedram salehpoor
Hi everyone,
After reading old discussions and discussing ideas with philip. I'd like to
propose a way to deal with user notes. (Please smash it and get it to the
form suitable for documents)

Regarding using tags, I'd like the way books put some special notes on the
side of page. So I think if we use following tags it would be good:

for better use of these tags we can add option to select the type of note
from the user. In the page of documentation notes will be grouped regarding
their tags and will be shown and one can choose to show or not show them.

Special tags for version usually won't work because of usually ambiguous
notes.

Regarding Voting we can add forms to each not with five values:

very weak, weak, good, very good, excellent

and give them values from 1 to 5 and get average of these points for grading
notes.

Then define a threshold and if a note for some period (to be defined) of
time fell below it, it would get pruned automatically.

we can sort notes in groups defined by tags by the point given by voting
(higher notes on top).

I think this will be a good documentation user notes and easy to implement.

Best,
Pedram

[PHP-DOC] getting persian translation online

Hi,
I think it's time to get persian translation online.

What's the process to get it online?

Re: [PHP-DOC] the online documentation editor

2010-03-20 Thread pedram salehpoor
sorry I was unable to reproduce it how hard I tried I don't why it
disappeared!

Even I solved all the errors in the persian translation but it did not pop
again but I got another problem that raises occasionally:

Sometimes there is no file in my files needed translation and after some
time the page reloads automatically like there is a loop until I sign out
and reenter to my account but I can't find any reason for it. Could it be a
problem with my internet connection or there is other problems on my side?

Re: [PHP-DOC] the online documentation editor

2010-03-18 Thread pedram salehpoor
Hi again,
There seems to be a problem with the way online editor handles error pages.

Whenever I try to save a document with error, an error page is opened and
then if you solve some errors but not all of them and try to save it again
and the error page is open the saving fails but if you first close the error
page and then save it everything is okay.

When the encoding of the original english file is iso-8859-1 and I use Utf-8
in my documents without changing the encoding the problem arises when I try
saving the files

edit.php.net

you can see them online on

svn.php.net

and/or you can download it using a SVN client.

If you need anymore help feel free to ask.

Currently I have one of those kinds of files on my commit pending list If
you had time you can take a look at it.

I'll be happy to translate the editor into my own language.

Re: [PHP-DOC] the online documentation editor

2010-03-16 Thread pedram salehpoor
Hi, I'm encountering some problems in the editor.

The editor begins two reload itself without letting me to save anything and
the data is lost.

When the editor tries to save new files in the directories that does not
exist previously it enters a loop and never ends its work and after
reloading the page there is a commit pending and the contents are lost and
it will not show the content that has been saved and if you cancel the
change again the english content can't be viewed until you completely reload
the page.

Am I doing anything wrong or what should I do?

The number of translated files are not shown correctly

And the problem of the total size persists.

In the fourth line in Summary:
number of files percent of files size of files percent of files
total9260100%819100%

The size should be more than 2.

I should create it again.

And I think there is problem with the total size of files in the main page.

hmm...
I don't know should I call this a bug but the following sentence has
spelling errors:

"The file * fa/language/oop5/visibility.xml* contains some tab caracters.
The editor have replace it with space caracters."

It should be Characters I think not Caracters.

You can start by reading and giving patches and solve problems things like
that. After sometime you can request access to SVN and begin to commit your
changes yourself. Hope to see you soon as I was absent for a long time

We better to continue our discussion in the dedicated mailing list of
persian translation DOC-FA.
But have you worked with any extension of PHP. The main part of PHP
documentation is its documentation of extensions. The other parts are
relatively translated.
If you are able to translate some of documentation of extensions that will
be a great help.

I had no problem in 1.52 version of configure.php but suddenly the problem
arose. From our previous discussion you said I should download latest
compilation of PHP and the problem is spaces in commands and windows command
line does not accept them and after getting a june 2 compilation 5.2.7-dev
the problem got solved but this time error come up with the same symptoms in
php configure.php --with-lang=fa
So I got a june 20 compilation snap and after reinstalling completely the
problem was solved I don't use phd very often because our translation has
started recently.

The problem was because of change of line 121
from
if (is_windows() && phpversion() < '5.2.7')
to
if (is_windows() && phpversion() < '5.3')
in configure.php.

[PHP-DOC] problem building phpdoc on windows

I tried to build phpdoc with my php 2-7-dev 2 june 2008. But it failed. The
other time when it failed I got latest version (2 june 2008) and it solved
my problem but this time latest version did not solved my problem. It builds
with older configure.php which I got on june 4 without problem. But with new
one it stucks. Which version should I get to solve these problems?

And stable version which I downloaded encounters session problems which was
solved when I got latest version which was a dev.

similar. Similar functions are documented for Mysql database so I think it's
better to have unified examples (with minor changes if needed). If it's
decided to have unified examples I can help with some of theses databases I
have worked with like MSSQL.

[PHP-DOC] problem with configure.php in phpdoc

2008-05-23 Thread pedram salehpoor
hi everybody
I tried to use configure.php on my latest phpdoc version I got through
anonymous cvs account but it returned with error "element variable is not
declared in entry list of possible children" and in details the problem is
in en/reference/phar/constants.xml.
How should I use configure.php for it correctly.

Thanks in advance

hi,
I want to start a new translation of doc to persian. Please approve it and I
will be able to get a cvs account.
We have a lot of php scripters who speak this language but because of
language they can not use doc for their work. So if you approve it I will
begin translation of doc to this language.

Thanks in advance
