I have one windows machine that just won't stay hibernated or turned off, even. I have to physically switch the power supply off on the back of the case in order to keep the machine turned off. I have no idea what could be causing this. At some point, I'll have to scrape the machine clean and reinstall windows. Hopefully, this isn't what's happening with your machine. To make sure that this isn't a SCPowerTool.exe bug, would you be willing to try the following? 1. Reboot your machine. Then delete all instances of SCPowerTool.exe. 2. Download PsShutdown from Sysinternals: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb897541.aspx and copy psshutdown.exe to c:\windows. 3. Change the hibernate command line in the SrvrPowerCtrl settings to: Code: C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /c start /B psshutdown.exe -accepteula -c -f -h -t 20 Now try using SrvrPowerCtrl to hibernate the machine and report back if the machine stays hibernated or not. If it does, then you've probably uncovered a bug in SCPowerTool.exe and we'll have to debug this further. However, if you machine still wakes up prematurely using psshutdown.exe, then the problem is with something with your machine rather than with SrvrPowerCtrl. In that case, the only thing I could suggest is that you carefully check the power settings for your network card. In WinXP, this would be: right click on the My Network Places icon and select "settings"; right-click on your local area connection and select "properties"; click the "Configure" button for the "Connect using" network card; click the "Power Management" tab and make sure that "Only allow mangement stations to bring the computer out of standby" is checked. If it is already, then I don't know what else to suggest. -- gharris999 gharris999's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=115 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=48521 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

In the commandCallback method I preface the ip address with http:\\ and also append the port (23). You can try using telnet here but not sure how it would work. It calls the Async Method which is doing sockets. If you change the plugin.xml file you will have to restart SC for it to take effect. Hi, I've installed the latest version of SvrPowerControl after updating to SC7.3.2 yesterday. Initially I had problems with SC starting as it did before - these seem to be sorted now (I hope). SvrPowerControl appears to offer lots to me - I especially like the idea of my SB3 switching to SN and back again when I shutdown or hibernate. I appear to have a slight problem... I tend to Hibernate my server (WinXP) overnight (because it takes 5 minutes to boot from scratch) but I can no longer seem to keep the PC in Hibernate now. Hi, I've just downloaded the latest version of Server Power Control and it's pretty good. I use it mostly for restating the SC service on my Windows box. I have noticed that when I select the restart SC option nothing happens on the SBC until after the cancel/delay time and then the confirmation popup appears. I then get a second, blank popup a few seconds later. I'm sure the previous version gave a confirmation popup immediately saying something like "restarting in 10 seconds". I preferred that setup as I get a bit trigger happy if I push a button and nothing appears to happen! Basically, it's job is to put the server to sleep when SqueezeCenter isn't playing content to a slim device, after a suitable idle period. So, no SqueezeCenter, no slim devices players, no SrvrPowerCtrl. Many folks have accomplished exactly what you want to do with other sorts of scripts. You could start by looking at this post: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?p=313317#post313317 Syburgh's python script could be modified so that it looks for other sorts of "activity" on your system...network activity, etc.., determines idle conditions accordingly and thus set power states. -- gharris999 gharris999's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=115 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=48521 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] AlienBBC 7.3 Linux no longer transcoding WMA (other work though)
Sorry, I didn't intend to talk about another problem. I was just trying to share all my observations. That said, you motivated me to try squeezeplay again today. It seems to do the transcoding for wma stations just fine. I tried a variety of stations and so far the only problem getting stations to play was with live365. live365 was all chipmonk music on every station I tried which you said is a know bug. Alienbbc worked great. squeezeplay still seemed very beta in that I had some oddities occur with the user interface. However, it seems much more capable than softsqueeze when accessing the wma stations. They worked everytime. I don't believe squeezeplay worked this well when I tried it a couple days ago so maybe the new mplayer.sh and custom-convert.conf files had an affect. The only other change we made was to set the radio station timeout to 30. I set the radio timeout back to 5 seconds and the stations all still worked fine. Transcoded stations seem to take a little longer to connect (several seconds) but 5 seconds was enough for all of the staions I tried. I will have to get used to squeezeplay in the near future anyway. I'm surprised there is not a client built into the SC web interface such that you wouldn't have to open a separate application to play music on a computer. Although, it is nice to have a client tor times when you don't need to open a browser and go to SC. -- eschurig eschurig's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2175 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=58217 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] 7.3 and XM radio
If you add two negative numbers it should still be a negative. I never could figure out why'd you'd merge two companies losing money to fix the problem. With the drop in car sales the whole satellite radio thing may be doomed. I know two subscriptions I won't be renewing because of the addition of DJ's to two of my favorite stations. The very reason I quit listening to FM and I wasn't paying for the privilege. I think combined with the fact that Satellite radio is inconvenient to install in a car and not much more fun at home with wires hanging all over for the antenna, it's just not as viable as it could be. If Rhapsody, Slacker, etc.. would get reasonable with the price of their players they could kill the market fairly quickly. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] AlienBBC 7.3 Linux no longer transcoding WMA (other work though)
I am not going to look into other issues/symptoms as SoftSqueezeze is deprecated - it is more worthwhile using Squeezeplay and logging bugs as they will get fixed. I am looking into the one issue about WMA streaming - the different symptoms (e.g. 0% fullness) all go back to the same problem - Softsqueeze doesn't like the URL supplied, it disconnects the connection to SC and ignores all data sent to it on that connection - hence the long delays as mplayer spews data at it. It looks more like a Softsqueeze bug than an SC bug and I am not familiar with the innerds of Softsqueeze/ Java and since Softsqueeze is deprecated - the bug may not get fixed. All the more reason to test Squeezeplay. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=58217 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
