[SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: RadioNet plugin to enable playing stream from the radio.net service
ANNOUNCE: RadioNet plugin enables playing streams from the radio.net directory service This plugin enables using radio.net directory of internet streams from Squeezebox UIs It adds a "RadioNet" menu under the top-level Radio. - Can search for a stream - Browse via Genres - List Top Stations The plugin supports the various language / regions via Settings - LMS must be restarted for change in language/region to take effect. The plugin does not play the stream - it passes the URL to LMS to be played by standard LMS mechanisms. This means if a stream fails to play, it is likely a problem with the station/URL. Install by adding the repository URL to the "Additional repositories" at the bottom of the WebUI Settings/Plugins tab. Repository URL http://bpa-code.github.io/bpaplugins/iheartradio-repo.xml Alternative but maybe not as reliable http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/bpaplugins/radionet-repo.xml This is V1.0 and has only been lightly tested. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111951 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: RadioNet plugin to enable playing stream from the radio.net service
Plug-in seems to work great - thanks! When opened, there's 3 items (Search, Top Stations, and Genres) that have the same image/icon. These images seems a bit redundant here, especially seeing as all 3 are the same. Perhaps it would be better to just not have them at this level? *Material debug:* 1. Launch via http: //SERVER:9000/material/?debug=json 2. Open browser's developer tools 3. Open console tab in developer tools 4. REQ/RESP messages sent to/from LMS will be logged here. cpd73's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66686 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111951 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Format follows from a request BBCiPlayer users that menu items should have icons. No comments on same behaviour on iHeart plugin and it has 6 identical icons on main menu. I mainly use WebUI Classical - so don't see icons normally A reason for having icon with these menus , is that in WebUI Classical at next level down the menu icon is user as a header to all the menus. The header icon serves as a reminder which plugin is being used as Tune-in, iHeart and radio.net look similar when displaying a list of stations bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111951 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: RadioNet plugin to enable playing stream from the radio.net service
RadioNet V1.1 has one addition and one change. * Podcast support V1.0 had no support for podcast. Podcast genre was empty and podcasts were omitted from search results. Now podcast entries returned and up to 5 podcast episodes as playable and at end of list, the podcast feed URL is set up to play through LMS standard Podcast plugin. On Touch/Radio podcast feed item is accessed with long press. * Multiple playable URLs For some stations there are multiple playable URLs often different bitrates and/or codecs but sometimes just different URLs. Now all playable URls can be returned as playlist. There is a Settings option to use just the first URL as returned by Radio.net as per V1.0. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111951 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: RadioNet plugin to enable playing stream from the radio.net service
It looks like changes are being rolled out to Radio.net website has meant plugin is temporarily broken for some languages (e.g. Radio.net is broken but Radio.de is OK). When situation is a bit "clearer" (i.e. wait a bit to see if all sites updated) an update to the plugin will be made. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111951 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

As there seems to be some download problems with soyurceforge use the github repo URL below. Did that already. Very clear from your settings. ;-) The only thing is that I don't get the metadata from those Belgian stations. But looking closer, it's the broadcaster's fault. I will revert to RTBF... But to my own risk: I am not sure RTBF is aware that RadioNet is broadcasting their radios. They all direct a player to the station URL's Radio.net does not contribute anything additional - no extra metadata. No centralised metadata feed. So it can add station without any additional effort since no metadata to supply.. Tunein is a directory that can adds metadata in terms of content being played. Radioplayer is similar but different - it tries to be a centralised single player. Hard to see differences sometimes. Radioplayer also has centralised metadata through common source but not instream of station URL - so usually requires Radioplayer App to see RadioPlayer provided data. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111951 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Sorry for the stupid question of a neebee. How can I install radionet plugin ? What I have tried so far ? The plugin page of my Logitech Media Server has no radionet plugin listed. So I have tried to add an additional repository based on the information in this forum but got the message "https://bpa-code.github.io/bpaplugins/radionet-repo.xml - Couldn't resolve IP address for: bpa-code.github.io" I have the plugin list from the standard repository and in addition the Michael's Slim Stuff repository which is also working. I have tried several other repository adresses but they did not work. When I look at the 3rd party software list at my Squeezebox Touch there is no radionet plugin. How can I install the radionet plugin ? I use Logitech Media Server 7.92 on a raspberry pi 4, which was the only version of LMS for which I found an installation guide for raspberry pi. I hear my music with a Squeezebox Touch and a Squeezebox Radio. Best regards in advance for your help !!! Things don't look good. I'm not at home now so relying on memory. 1. 7.9.0 is very old and IIRC does not provide info about IO::Socket::SSL in WebGUI/Settings/Information. 2. Any 7.9.0 SSL/TLS support is likely to be too old (maybe TLS 1.0 but not newer) and now not allowed by most sites (i.e.pre Heartbleed) 3. I moved plugin respository to github from sourcefoirge because sf gave many many problems. github may now require use of https to download the plugin ZIP itself. The pointer to this respository is part of "LMS 3rd parties" and may use http to get the list of plugins. 4. The release repository URL will point to 2.8 - it does not have version control and allow access to earlier version. 5. Do you have a test PlayHLS repository URL for 2.2 in WebUI Settings/Plugins but I think 2.8 will supercede so may explain the behaviour. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111951 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Slarti is correct, LMS and Squeezeplay is possible on a Joggler. I have a Cisco one with the 2GB imternal memory. It also is possible to run the same on the O2 Joggler. In fact, I have just spent a few hours playing with the PNP3 install that you use and Roobarb's Squeeze. All in all a rpi is better for LMS (even the original model runs LMS and Squeezelite on pCP) However, O2 Joggler with LMS and Squeezeplay 7.8.1-r1002 is currently blasting my right ear with that '\"http://media.radiojackie.com/redirector/frontend.m3u8' (http://media.radiojackie.com/redirector/frontend.m3u8)" There is not much room left from the install but it does work, even better would be LMS on one Joggler and Squeezeplay on another. Let me know know if you want details and I'll knock up a "how to". Man in a van, you are seriously tempting me. Tell me, one of the main problems with PnPIII is that it complains when you try and play a 48kHz stream. I have never used PNP3 but it seems (from my limited experience of yesterday) totally unsuited to running LMS, as it is pretty well a closed system. Get a raspberry pi and just use the Joggler as a controller, simples :):p ronnie The main problem with the Joggler (apart from its slowness, is the lack of memory and finding a usb2 stick that complements it). Putting the OS on an external usb2 stick really does help. This feels like LMS is resamplng the BBC stream but not the other stream. This can happen as in some formats resampling for internet streams was not setup especially with older LMS when internet stream were nearly all 44.1kHz/16 bits. To know definitively what is happening - enabling logging player.source to INFO - an play the problem stream. If present (i.e. transcoding/resampling happening) , the "Tokenized" command will show what transcoding/resampling is being used. For failed stream, it will show what LMS thinks are the key parameters. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111951 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: RadioNet plugin to enable playing stream from the radio.net service
V1.3 - Small fixes to RadioNet plugin. Radionet plugin is available through LMS 3rd party repository - V1.3 will become available when LMS repo is updated. - After a Search - fix the "unable to parse" error when looking at page 2,3,etc of search - No need to restart LMS after changing country setting. Only have to get out of Radionet menu. Clarification on Favorite behaviour If RadioNet Favorite is saved while playing on Touch or by "Save to Favorites" on older SB UI (e.g. Sb2, SB3, Transporter, Boom) - no station icon will be saved. This is LMS issue. If a Radionet station has been saved as a Favorite from WebUI or Squeezeplay/Touch/Radio/Jivelite - then "Touch to Play" on Squeezeplay/Radio/Touch/Jivelite will not work. There may be an LMS solution but if really needed now there is a workaround. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111951 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: RadioNet plugin to enable playing stream from the radio.net service
Not directly related to the plugin, but I'd be interested to see why some stations don't show up in search. I must emphasise this happens on the WEBSITE, so it's no surprise it also happens on the plugin. Test: Search for "Bylgjan". Only "Lett Bylgjan" shows up. On the website, it thinks there are 3 results, yet only shows one. Is this a geoblocking issue? Using Google to get through to the station entry in the radio.net directory works as usual, so I'd be interested to see what results people in other countries get. The plugin sends the search string direct to radio, net web site so https://www.radio.net/search?q=beylgjan If you plug this into your web browser - it says 3 search results - yet only display one station (even trying different countries like de or se) . Ok, but there is something a little strange. If you search for 1fm you get x2 pages, the second doesn't show any logos. If you search for 1.fm you get multiple pages, the first is pretty similar to the 1fm search result but a different order, all subsequent pages show logos. The problem is a change to Radionet website (i.e. the canonical domain name has varied between adding/removing https scheme and other pieces of URL path) . It is similar to small change which required 1.5 update so possibly radio.net developers are not "happy" with last change and the area is volatile. As I think it may be volatile, I'll try to make the 1.6 update more tolerant and examine the supplied canonical domain name in detail and use guessed default values if parts are missing/changed bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111951 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: RadioNet plugin to enable playing stream from the radio.net service
Hi bpa, v1.6 works for me, and radionet stations play for me now, thanks. However, I've noticed a peculiarity when calling radionet stations stored as favourites via the Mediaserver Alexa smart skill. All the radionet favourites fail to play when called from the smart skill (error:no items in playlist, no audio plays), but they play just fine when called from material skin. I know Phil has recently changed the way he handles favourites in his Mediaserver skill so that favourites are now called directly from the URL rather than via a unique ID, but all other favourites seem OK when called via mediaserver, it's just the radionet ones that won't play. I've tried removing and re-favouriting, but no luck. Any idea why a radionet favourite might behave differently? For info, the command that the mediaserver skill issues to play a particular favourites is in this format (via jsonrpc.js): {"id":"1","method":"slim.request","params":["00:04:20:aa:bb:cc",["playlist","play","https://www.radio.net/s/1fmreggaetrade"]]} Thanks for looking. location 1: lms 8.3 on win 10 brix server, x3 sb radios, x1 touch, x1 controller : location 2: lms 8.3 on win 10 brix server, x2 sb radios, x1 duet receiver, x1 controller : alexa mediaserver smart skill, material android, squeezelitex control staresy's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=807 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111951 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

IIRC There is a peculiarity within LMS wrt how you saved the Favorites will give different results. 1. Save from Radionet menu - not playing. 2. Save from old SB player while Playing. 2. Save from "new" Jive player while playing. If saved while not playing - then you'll be saving a call to RadioNet plugin and not an URL and so latest URL will always be found. If saved while playing - then you'll be saving a playing URL which means no call to radioNet plugin but if station URL changes - playing will fail. My memory may not 100% accurate but that is the jist. I had hoped to have a V2.0 which uses the API to remove this issues but RadioNet have changed things and so can't get API to work now. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111951 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I'd hope to eliminate this issue sometime - one way or another - but for the moment saving the playing station is a workaround. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111951 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

OK, I've done a bit of experimenting, and it works, nearly... So taking 1.FM Reggae Trade from Radionet as an example station, I'll try to explain: Scenario 1: >From material, if I click on the station logo from the radionet plugin search window and add to favourites, the station is added to favourites as (https://www.radio.net/s/1fmreggaetrade). In this case the station plays from material skin, and correctly displays the station logo in the favourites list and whilst playing. However, in this scenario trying to play the favourite using the Mediaserver Skill fails, I assume because Mediaserver is trying to use a URL via the radionet plugin? Scenario 2: If I start the stream playing and save the favourite from the now playing list, the favourite is saved as (https://strm112.1.fm/reggae_mobile_mp3). In this scenario the station correctly plays from material favourites list and also from the MediaServer skill, but in this scenario no station logo is displayed regardless of where I initiate the favourite call (i.e from material or Mediserver). So is it possible either for Mediaserver to handle the URL in Scenario 1, or can a Station Logo be retrieved in Scenario 2? location 1: lms 8.3 on win 10 brix server, x3 sb radios, x1 touch, x1 controller : location 2: lms 8.3 on win 10 brix server, x2 sb radios, x1 duet receiver, x1 controller : alexa mediaserver smart skill, material android, squeezelitex control staresy's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=807 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111951 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I just had a play with this and I can see that Material is using ["favorites","playlist","play","menu:favorites","item_id:eb5e0bb8.8","isContextMenu:1"]] to play the favorite (which is what I used to do). I guess this method invokes the plugin whereas a direct URL play (which I now do) like ["playlist","play","https://www.radio.net/s/1fmreggaetrade";]] is skipping it? If -all -stations that should play via the "menu:favorites" route have radio.net in their URL then I can easily check on that and make sure to use that method to play them. Is that the case? philchillbill's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=68920 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111951 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: RadioNet plugin to enable playing stream from the radio.net service
staresy wrote: > OK, I've done a bit of experimenting, and it works, nearly... Similar issues came up a few months ago. I did the same a few months ago and went through the option and documented the same in a post in a thread somewhere > So is it possible either for Mediaserver to handle the URL in Scenario > 1, or can a Station Logo be retrieved in Scenario 2? Scenario 1: Mediaserver is assuming a "playable" item is a ready to go URL.- this is not always true. RadioNet is using a Favorite with a saved "parser" - however this is no longer a commonly used method. LMS has evolved and there are now alternatives. Medaiserver would need to be updated to use RadioNet V1.* Scenario 2: The saving Favorite from a playing station - IIRC having gone through LMS code, LMS saves the currently playing artwork as supplied by the stream and not the artwork of the Favorite (or something like this) . I feel it is a LMS minor "Bug". It could be "fixed" but fixing it will only be available for 8.3 users and couldn't find the time to do the change, full testing and pull-request especially as few users have noticed this issue with other sources. You missed scenario 3: Scenario 3: At lowest level of drilling menus - full URL and cover are available but neither Classic nor Material has a "save as favorite" option. I created a V2.0 of the Plugin using the API which gets around these issues and had hoped to release it but the API has been deprecated so I think that is now a dead end. This means I should re-write section of RadioNet plugin to fix the issues. Current workaround to have cover is to manually edit the Favorites.opml file - LMS must be stopped for this. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111951 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: RadioNet plugin to enable playing stream from the radio.net service
Thanks bpa and Phil for looking at this. I think the best option as it's a bit of a corner case, is for me to favourite the "now playing" stream and modify the favorites.opml file to point to the radionet artwork for the required station. Just tested this and it works, it displays artwork correctly and plays audio correctly regardless of where I initiated the favourite request from (ie. material or Mediserver). location 1: lms 8.3 on win 10 brix server, x3 sb radios, x1 touch, x1 controller : location 2: lms 8.3 on win 10 brix server, x2 sb radios, x1 duet receiver, x1 controller : alexa mediaserver smart skill, material android, squeezelitex control staresy's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=807 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111951 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: RadioNet plugin to enable playing stream from the radio.net service
If you look at the Favorite opml - you'll see that the radio.net URL in the Favorites has to be processed by the RadioNet parser specified in the Favorites entry. Just playing it like "Tune-in URL" won't work. philchillbill wrote: > > "url": "https://www.radio.net/s/1fmreggaetrade";, > bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111951 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
