I think I found something. It's LMS' multiple searches that messes things up here. When I use LMS' WebUI and type in "felice" at the search thing on the top, I get these type-ahead results: - Ouvertüre aus "L'inganno felice" - Aria: Alcun più di me felice non è - etc. If I now press enter, the results are: - Ouvertüre aus "L'inganno felice" - something different then before - etc. Hypothesis: The tracks shown in Squeeze Control WITH duration are the ones that don't change. I found a small bug, but I'm not sure how to reproduce it, yet. I ran a search for "felice". Squeeze Ctrl is a Windows UWP app and UWP apps are not allowed to run in the background. On a desktop PC, running in the background means minimizing the app. When you minimize the app, it has to disconnect from the server. Once you restore the app, it makes a new connection so it goes back to the home screen. This is just a limitation of Windows UWP apps. Not sure what may cause the second problem, but my guess is that the constant disconnecting and reconnecting may be causing the app to be locked into some sort of infinite loop. SqueezeCntrl has started to revert to the primary player when the Android device has blanked screen or gone to sleep. My main player is a Transporter; a secondary player is a Touch. I often use the Touch for close listening away from the rest of the family. When I select the Touch and am listening to music, my mobile (on which SqueezeCntrl is located) will after a few minutes blank screen or go to sleep. When I start it up, SC has reverted to the default player, the Transporter, and I have to re-select the Touch, go to My Music and select the current track to get back to where I need to be. This is quite annoying. What can I do to fix? I can't seem to find anything in the controls. I, too, tried the Angry Goat info address, and got the "can't connect" message. If I right click the track and select 'show artwork' then this is displayed in a new window. The artwork appears in the album list. Any clues as to how to fix this please? I am old fashioned and even buy music on CD and then either rip it get it off Amazon through auto rip and put it into my collection. Buying an album to me is not just listening to some sound in the background but actually reading (and possibly even thinking about and understanding) thy lyrics. Maybe that is not everybodies cup of tea but for me the lyrics are an important part of good music. I tag my MP3s with lyrics (in an external software and showing them with another plugin...so what...) so that I can have a look at them if I want to. Has got nothing to do with Karaoke but with appreciation of the artists work, in my oppinion. Maybe I should rephrase my request: "IF you are displaying the lyrics of a song at a time (hence you have made the decission that you want to see them, and you know that your songs have them) it would be great if the lyrics screen automatically updates when a new song is played". Like this nobody has to look at or even read the nasty stuff but on the other hand if someone made the concious decission to do so, it updates automatically. I really like the app...be it on Android or Windows. I installed it on Windows today and noticed that clicking on the band or album name in the "now playing" window does not take you to this item. Also right clicking on a song and then selecting the artist or album does not take you anywhere. Wouldn't that make sense to use those as links? Another request would be to always (maybe with a toggle on/off) display the lyrics of the song that is playing currently. I removed the beta test, so a reinstall should get the older version. The customized menus and player backgrounds were never backed up. The backup system uses an account's roaming profile, which means that the backups for the app are sync'd with every device. Since people may have different devices on the same account at different locations connected to different squeezeboxes, backing up player specific stuff didn't seem like a good idea. I'm going to add menu data backup to the updated app. Since the players all have different id's, it would work. However, I'm not going to backup player backgrounds because I store the data for all the players in one chunk and backing up the chunk will overwrite the chunk from another device. Hi, When the SC app is suspended (e.g. I browse away to a different virtual desktop), it restarts and forgets the navigation history: the back arrow in the top left corner disappears and I have to start browsing from scratch. Is there some way of recoding the app to retain the back arrow across app suspensions? Update: I have been using Squeeze Control with my Xbox One to control my Squeezebox Touch for a few months now. I am very happy that this UWP app is available and it is working fine for me. The only 'issue' I have is that sometimes the app simply does not connect with the Squeezebox environment. Not clear what is the cause..XB1 has no log files in any way I know. This looks similar as discussed here above, for me an app terminate and restarting it on the Xbox One solves the issue and it connects... Hi there, I just purchased squeeze control for my touch laptop. I continually receive errors. The main error being; Error fetching now playing menu: request timed out. I have set the timeout to 30sec. Is there anything else I can do to get rid of the message? I can see the now playing track and the playlist. However, the home menu stays empty. Does anybody know how to fix this? Thanks! I have been using the beta for a few days now, and it sure does seem to have resolved the crash on launch issue. UWP apps are automatically suspended in the background, so the app has to disconnect when that happens. Locking the computer puts every app in the background. In case you want to use Squeeze Control again, you probably just have to unblock port 9000 in Bitdefender. Yeah, these types of things are a major PITA to diagnose. It's not a lack or RAM in my case; I've got 16GB and my system commit never comes near that. I tried to replicate what you described. I put my PC to sleep, woke it up, and left Squeeze Ctrl minimized for a couple of hours with a few other apps running and nothing. No lockups. Here's a video of the test, after the ~2 hour wait: https://youtu.be/CNZgNk5xPiM Granted, this was done with an upcoming updated version, but I don't think I changed anything that would affect suspending or resuming the app. To make sure the test is as close to what the user would experience, this was done with a release build not a debug one and it was installed thru the Windows App Store using a beta channel I created for myself. I have no idea why minimizing the app would lock up Explorer on your computer. Maybe you're low on RAM? Or maybe you have a different version of Win 10? I'm using the anniversary update. I've been using Squeeze Control more this week since returning home, and I am also experiencing the occasional lockup problem with SC minimized on taskbar. When it happens, I can Ctrl-Alt-Delete, choose Task Manager (which actually runs Sysinternals Process Explorer on my PC), and terminate Squeeze Control and all is well again. I haven't seen this with other UWP apps, but I hardly use any others (SiriusXM occasionally) and not "all day" like I use Squeeze Control. a problem from time to time with my computer locking up if I leave this app running minimized. I have to reboot to regain control. It doesn't happen all the time but it has happened once today. Could this be related to the issue above? Another thing to put on your list. For now I just start an album and close the app and reopen for the next album and then close again. The only thing I have noticed is that sometimes when I exit the app, Windows keeps it in memory as a suspended task. If you use the remote control on the site and you use the volume buttons in those controls, the app will show the mute button. Just set the volume using the mysb remote to 0 or 100 and the volume button in the app will return to normal. Try restarting your server. Clicking on it produces briefly (as in, the duration of the click) a second speaker icon that looks like could be used to raise and lower volume, but it's not on screen long enough to do anything. Even though in it's current version it's fairly simple and missing a few of the visual treats I'm used to on Squeeze Ctrl for Android, it is nicely laid out, easy to use, and has been fast and crash free for me.
