I have the same problem with Deezer. Different music service is a different problem. Spotify is very specific and different to any other music service we support. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Spotify with synced players
I have the same problem with Deezer. A single player (streaming method "direct streaming" in the audio settings) is working fine. When switching to "Proxied Streaming" or synching with another player (which implicitly switches to "Proxied Streaming") does no longer work. I'm sure it worked before, but since one or two month it dosn't. Other users seem to have the same issue https://www.max2play.com/en/forums/topic/cannot-play-deezer-across-multiple-squeezebox-player/ I'm running the latest 7.9 nightly, have a couple of radios, a touch, a reciver and a squeeze lite on a pi. The problem is independed of the device. Not sure whether this is related to the Spotify problems, but it sounds very similar. flo72's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=62583 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106528 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Spotify with synced players
Hi, this is my first post in this Forum. I own a Raumfeld-Multiroom System with 3 componets. Working fine, sometimes. Normally, its much too slow, unresponsive and the Music is interrupted many times. One day, I had a defect on my Speaker, and instead of sending me a 10 Spare part, i had to return my speaker and got it repaired for nearly 100 Euro. In order to solve my problems, i had a look for some multiroom-audio-players on Raspberrys e.g. Finally, the cheapest, best and fastest Solution seemed to be the Squeezebox server. At the moment I am using a Testing-System consisting of 2 Raspi3, one with Hifiberry, using MAX2PLAY as Platform, and a VMWare virtualMachine with Squeezebox Server installed. Now i like to listen to Spotify systemwide. Things that i've tried, and my Opinion/Problems: 1) Triode Plugin: Everything is fine. Really. But the App for my Samsung Smartphone offers such a poorly UserInterface, i had to find something better. Actually, i wanted to have a Spotify-Connect-possibility. 2) Maybe you alredy knew, I also know that it is not possible to have Spotify connect without an Appkey. Thankfully to spotify, the possibility to get an appkey is removed in order of changing minds. Blind end 1. 3) i tried to install SBS on a Virtual Machine (Ubuntu 16.10) in order to get the Music from the Spotify App into Squeezebox via the WaveInputPlugin. This did cost me plenty hours, but unfortunatly no luck. 4) I read in this Forum about the Spotify Protocol Handler Plugin. So i tried every combination of SPH, official App and Triode, but didn't get it to work. Sorry for the long Text, but i didn't want to complain that it doesn't work without offering any Information about my last weeks experiments. If you could show me a Documentation about the three plugins, i would like to read about them. Maybe you somehow can help me to get my system running. btw, i experienced some problems entering my Password in the SPH-Plugin. I had to repeat 2-3 times, unless the dots remained in the Password-Field. Will it be possible to control the Playback of my Squeezebox-System out of Spotify-App? If I forgot to give any information, please ask. I have not the overview yet i could decide what's important or not. Hmmm. Odd. Any clues in the server logs on lms. Ah, it fails also if I check the "Always Stream via Helper" option. So it seems to be an issue with connecting to the helper app from the player (which would explain why it works as long as players are not synchronized, but fails as soon as they are since then they will use the helper app). On every of them I can listen to Spotify. If I now synchronize B with A and play something on B it works on B but doesn't power on A. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Spotify with synced players
Hi, I've Spotify installed on my local LMS server (7.9.0 - 1480066117 / x86_64-linux) using the SPH and official Logitech Spotify App. This works fine for single players, but fails as soon as two players (Radios) are synchronized with the error message "Connection reset by local host". I also tried to go back to Triodes plugin, which I already used earlier, but this no longer seems to work in my case. Helper app is running, an log means I'm successfully logged in, but there are a lot of ChannelErrors in the log, and all tracks are just skipping. Self-Test even fails with helper app not running. Does the SPH support synchronized players? Or what plugin should I use to have Spotify working with synchronized players? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Spotify on synced players results in connection reset by local host
Yes, after disabling the 3rd party plug-in the offical plug-in works fine on individual players and synced. I then enabled the 3rd party plug-in again. This had the Always stream through helper unchecked and could play to individual players without a problem. When trying to play to syned players both players showed the tracked details but with Connecting No music was played. I then checked the Always stream through helper box. This stopped the 3rd party plug-in from playing music on individual players as well as synced. I'm just left with the Connecting... message. Looking at the helper log it has no entries in the last 45 min, since I've been running the tests. Interestingly, the 3rd party plug-in settings page (at the very bottom) displays Helper App: Running but when pressing the self test button it displays Help App is not running - please check why after a few seconds. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Spotify on synced players results in connection reset by local host
When using Spotify on synchronised players is causing the following error message: connection reset by local host. It runs fine on either player separately but never on two players synced. Has anyone else experienced this same problem or have any suggestions? I've tried both the official Spotify plug-in (v1.0) and Triodes (v2.4.4). All devices (Acer Revo 3700 running server, Radio Touch) are wired directly into the router (that includes a Gigabit Ethernet Switch). I've also turned off all other network traffic possible. -- Squeezebox Radio -- Player Model: Squeezebox Radio Firmware: 7.7.2-r9663 Player IP Address: 192.168.1.102 -- Squeezebox Touch -- Player Model: Squeezebox Touch Firmware: 7.7.2-r9663 Player IP Address: 192.168.1.100 Player MAC Address: 00:04:20:22:c5:3f -- Server -- Logitech Media Server Version: 7.7.2 - r33893 @ Wed Mar 14 05:47:42 PDT 2012 Hostname: AspireR3700 Server IP Address: 192.168.1.202 Server HTTP Port Number: 9000 Operating system: Windows 7 - EN - cp1252 Platform Architecture: 8664 Perl Version: 5.14.1 - MSWin32-x86-multi-thread Database Version: DBD::SQLite 1.34_01 (sqlite 3.7.7.1) Total Players Recognized: 2 Cohech's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=41686 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=94486 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Do you have always stream via helper set on the 3rd party plugin settings page? Could you check what the server log says? No the always stream via helper was not set. I set it and checked again but now getting timeout errors whether its set or not. Are you suggesting it should be set or not for synced playback? I've copied some of the errors from the server log below. They are all related to Plugins::Spotify. Are these messages generated by the official plugin or the Triode plugin? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Spotify on synced players results in connection reset by local host
They are all related to the third party plugin. Can you also look at the helper app log - it may show what is going on. You should be able to use the official plugin with a Radio and Touch - does sync work for that (with the 3rd party plugin disabled?)
