Ok, so I am having a heck of a time getting this plugin to work again. I downloaded the zip that was (nicely) uploaded to this forum to fix the display after the XM update but haven't been able to get it to work. Previously I had added the XM URLs to my favorite radio stations and been able to succesfully play. I'm on SC 7.2, and have updated the XML string to 7.3+ just to be safe. The plugin loads properly, but whenever I try the log in command under the XM Radio plugin menu, I get a Already logged in through client (Insert Current Client Name Here) error message. So if I log in from Squeezebox A, it says Squeezebox A, if I try Squeezebox B it says that. Thinking there was some connection open, I stopped the SC service, removed the XM plugin, started the service (no XM in the interface any more), started and stopped the service, recopied the XM plugin, and retried to the same results. Now, even the XM shortcuts in My Radio don't work. Any ideas? I applied the patch to my Slimserver 6.5 running on OS X, but couldn't browse my presets at first. I monkeyed with my Squeezebox for a few minutes (not sure what ended up working), but then the presets list was properly populated. This morning, I went into my office to a different Squeezebox, and couldn't find a way to get the presets or other channel changes to work. When I hit play, I got the WMA error message. I did go to Slimserver web interface and was able to tune in via the web and properly control XM on the office squeezebox. I then turned off the Squeezebox and brought it back online with the remote and the presets were there. Not sure if there's any kind of caching that goes on, but strangely it is now working. I should also have noted that I simply updated the plugin that can be downloaded off the plugins wiki. I don't know if that is the most up to date version or if any other patches need to be applied to it. You may need to go back to the forums to find fixes you may have already applied. I'd recommend simply getting a utility like 7zip and update your existing plugin with the patched file. You're probably going to have the best luck with that (unless, of course, the current plugin from the wiki is up to date, in which case you should be fine). Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] XM can no longer log in
Joe Bob, I've been looking at the XM plugin myself this week. What I'd really like to be able to do is have the plugin cycle through all of the SB clients online at the time an XM stream is started, log them all out, or detect which one is currently logged in then log that one out. Once there are no logged in SB XM clients, it should be safe to start the stream on the current client. What do you think? Issues: The XM plugin only knows about the SB being controlled in SC. It knows that the SB may not be the XM client logged in, but it doesn't know which is the currently logged in SB client. You can see this by having at least 2 SB on the system at one time. Log the first one (A) into XM by playing a stream or logging in from the plugin interface in SC. Then switch to the other SB (B) in SC. Go to the XM Plugin page in SC. The message will be 'Already logged in through client (B)' even though client (A) is the client that is actually logged in. I couldn't find the currently logged in client in the xmplugin code. I don't think the plugin keeps track of that. It looks to me that it only knows whether the current client (whichever client SB is controlling) is loggedin. This is why I wanted to make it easy on myself and log out all clients that *I* know about. (I'm going to hard code these for the time being, as I haven't looked at how to capture user data from the settings yet.) Are the clients identified by MAC address in the plugin? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] XM can no longer log in
Hey everyone. This problem is not isolated to the SlimDevices plugins, but there are some third-party apps that have the same problems. Even the XMRO (XM's own web app to listen to stations on) has had some weird issues since the addition of the Sirius channels to the lineup. One piece of software that has done a good job of still working (a fix was required) after the addition is the XaMP Studio software. You can check it out here: http://xamp.imomo.net/ Perhaps their forum has some clues as to what the fix is, and could be implemented in a patch of the XM plugin? -- James2k James2k's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=5635 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=53275 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] XM can no longer log in
Another big THANK YOU to those who came up with the work around for the XM issue. That is all I really use my SB for and when it wouldn't work this evening, I had a sneaking suspicion it had to do with the merger, etc. I had been waiting for it to break. I spent about 30 minutes trying to get it to work on my own before consulting the forum. And bingo, had it working in 5 minutes (I had never used a URL before).
