Re: p5-Mail-SpamAssassin: proposed change
Selon Andreas Vögele [EMAIL PROTECTED]: I'll update the patch for SpamAssassin 3.1.7 that I sent to the list yesterday. I don't think that we have to keep these changes separate. Here is a diff for spamassassin that : - update to version 3.1.7 (by Andreas Vögele, with some cleanings) - use /var/db/spamassassin as homedir for _spamdaemon user - does _not_ remove /var/db/spamassassin when using `pkg_delete -c` Please test. -- Antoine spamassassin.diff Description: Binary data

Re: OpenOffice source - Humppa.hu not avaiable
Well right me if I`m wrong but OpenOffice IS in the Ports for OpenBSD 4.0 (i386 only). So shouldn`t I exspect a working port then?! No, but it's a bit out of the ordinary. In 4.0 the port was in the ports tree but NOT connected to the build. That is, in 4.0 the ports/editors/Makefile did not include openoffice, as it was not ready for use then. It still has some issues (the biggest being that Save New or Save As don't work, so if you create a new file from scratch you lose). However it is getting better all the time. Will a package be avaiable for 4.0 if the Port doesn`t work?! Not sure how you'd expect such a package to be created :-)
Not sure how you'd expect such a package to be created :-) Then it`s sad that the port was marked for 4.0... Btw: Because Java does work on i386 - Would OpenOffice with Javasupport possible? I don`t know for real wich functions get deactivated if you`ve a non-Java Version. It just noticed it in the makefile. Btw: Not all Ports are included into the build procedure but there Ports you still can build even there`s no package for it. Propably that`s part of the yunkyard I`ve told Marc about... Tagging Ports for 4.0 even they`re brocken is just crap and leads to discussions like this one. :-/ Are the issues with saving/opening new Files solved in current? Then I`ll propablytry a port from current on 4.0 even that`s no recommended. Kind regards, Sebastian p.s. If jAVA gets OpenSource in November/December does this mean OpenBSD 4.1 propably can or will ship binary packages for JAVA? Just in case you did followed all the publications from SUN. -- Don't buy anything from YeongYang. Their Computercases are expensiv, they WTX-powersuplies start burning and their support refuse any RMA even there's still some warenty.

So what are you talking about? If you love to have it in tree even if it`s brocken the Port itself could get marked as brocken (there some of those Ports) so that nobody on any architecture simply tries to build it. Or you even could have take care that the port gets NOT tagged for 4.0 (but then it still remains in the Ports-tree for current, clever, or?). So who`s ignorant here? It could have been done better... EOF Kind regards, Sebastian

It is for our DEVELOPERS. it is OUR tree. We put in it what WE WANT, when WE WANT. You are lucky you get it at all. Re: Link exchange
Good evening, I was noticing our sites are similar. If you would like to take a look at my site, Actually, no, they are not similar. You would have noticed this if you had spent some time visiting that site. But you probably got a list of emails to send your nasty blurb to. I understand sending the same bullshit hundred times a day is a boring job, and that you don't want to spend even more time on it. Or maybe you folks are clever and using some software (which you paid too much for) to send these advertising mails, and you are just a contact point for positive feedback. So when you are (or the software is) creatively writing ``I think a link from (whatever) would be beneficial for both sites'', you are obviously talking out of your ass. Makes one wonder how better your genuine customers are considered. I could probably ignore this spam and go on. This is what I usually do. Too bad, I am not in the mood to tolerate www link whores today. So I'll take the only appropriate action: from now on, all systems I will sell, lease or manage, will have your domain name permanently redirected to a black hole, so that your blatant lies may not affect my customers. Now this is time well spent. This is fair game. You are not behaving as a reasonable business, so I am protecting my customers from you. Actually, it's a win-win situation: I will never hear from you anymore, and you won't have a chance to waste my customers's valuable time. Thanks for your help! You're welcome. Regards, Miod Vallat

Author responded that Apache::Reload is taken over by the mod_perl team and now it is Apache licensed, I guess it can be commited now ? modified skeleton can be found http://84.32.234.78/ports/p5-Apache-Reload.tar.gz Bernd Ahlers wrote: Genadijus Paleckis [Thu, Oct 26, 2006 at 07:21:23PM +0300] wrote: I will try to contact author of this module about this. It could have been done better... EOF Kind regards, Sebastian Sebastian, It could *not* have been done better. OpenOffice is a HUGE system. I have seen and worked on complex pieces of software in the past, and this ranks right up there with anything I have ever seen. The effort to get it ported to OpenBSD is *not* trivial. If it were, it would have been in the tree a long time ago. Sometimes, getting something into into shape involves working on it in stages. Getting OO into the ports tree means that a) people like me can look and play with it, b) the developers can share what they're doing easier. That is exactly what is going on now. Patch level 6 of OO 2.0.4 just came in from a participant (Fritz Elfert) that Kurt Miller took and worked wth. Large parts of OO don't work yet. While I'm pleased to say that its been handling huge documents from the FCC for me, I just found that I couldn't create a document file myself. So be it. This is definitely an evolving item, and it takes time, testing and talent to get it right. Please, be quiet. Wait, and by the time 4.1 comes around there may well be a properly working OO 2.something working. No promises but a lot of good people are working on it. Please stop adding to the noise. I feel badly enough contributing this. --STeve Andre'

You are such a dumb cunt that I actually feel sorry for you. You and your retarded opinions are ready for some MirBSD usage. Haven't you figured out yet that the reason that no one likes you might be because of you? It is time for you to move on, really. Just fuck off, don't return and have a nice life. No one cares about whatever DoS you claim to have discovered. No one cares about anything you say because you are a disrespectful asshole. Even if you had a point no one would listen.
