CS>Re: CS protocols for congestive heart failure (CHF) AND idiopathic interstitial lung disease (IILD)

2007-06-19 Thread Denise Rollheiser
In re-reading my post after a few hours sleep, I realize I forgot to include
the fact that in addition to both Dad and Guy suffering from CHF, they both
have leaky heart valvesnot sure if this makes any difference but it's a bit
of info that should have been included originally.

Guy's IILD does NOT come from exposure to asbestos or coal dust...hence the
'idiopathic' tag to the diagnosis.

interstitial lung disease (IILD)

My father and my partner both suffer from CHF (Dad was diagnosed 2 weeks ago,
Guy a number of years ago). Guy also suffers from IILD.

If anyone can provide protocol(s) for using CS to assist with either of these
diseases or at least connect me with lists that can provide some guidance, I
would be forever grateful. While my Dad will celebrate his 90 b'day in Jan 08,
his quality of life has deteriorated majorly since his Dx; Guy will be 60 in
Nov 07 and I would like to have more time with him than less (his lung
specialist has said that in the patients he has seen/sees with IILD - from
diagnosis to lung failure is between 4-5 years...Guy was Dx'd about 18 months
ago.)

  Thanks.

Re: CS>meningitis

2007-06-07 Thread Denise Rollheiser
I hear ya, Ruth. And I know that while I have learned to listen to my body
more over the years, I too, sometimes jump to conclusions if I'm not feeling
up to par for a day or two. Usually, I'll give it a couple more days and
then, if I'm still not feeling better, will make an appt to see my primary
care physician.

I don't take CS internally on a regular basis but do use it on my 'outsides'
(scrapes, cuts, etc.) I used to put a couple of drops in my milk to keep it
fresher longer. I use CS on my dogs as well...they always seem to come in
from a field romp with scrapes and cuts...CS has helped each and every time.

Hi, Denise,I ,too, experience strange feelings in my mouthand throat after
drinking CS. I experience enough aches and pains in my nearly 79 year old
body that it would be hard to determine what is causing them besides
aging. I, too, would caution you not to put the problems you report down
to something as drastic as meningitis. I tend to think like that

so then, from what I've read, you can probably expect to feel 'sick' due
to your body detoxing as a result of the more-consistent intake of CS...

Could your "... drinking ... its not like it usually is..." be a result of
something off-gasing from your new radiator...?

Again, just because something is 'off' doesn't automatically mean that
there is something wrong...does it?

Sorry - meant to ask - are all nipples involved...? 'cause it's been my
experience with whelping a variety of breeds that only one or two nipples
develop mastitis due to puppies NOT nursing. Covering the involved nipples
with hot compresses and massaging them will encourage the inflammation to pass.
I don't see why you couldn't add some CS to the hot compress as well.

good case of Mastitis and doesn't want to fed the pups.

Would CS/DSMO work for her on the swollen areas and not hurt the puppies.

We are going to supplement them and hope that ones the pains goes down she
will let them nurse again.

She is on antibiotics and then a pin reliever from the vet.

2007-06-02 Thread Denise Rollheiser
Bonnie - please ensure that the dog continues to nurse - even just a little bit
- no matter how painful it might be as if she does not nurse, her milk will dry
up and then you will have to supplement 24/7 the puppies.

I've heard of people administering CS via eye-dropper to pups to boost their
immune systemsnot sure the dosage but even a drop or two every couple of
hours shouldn't hurt.

Also - I would think applying CS to the umbilical site would also work at
preventing any infection at that particular location.

You are dead wrong my friend. Most are well treated, loved, and treated
kindly.

Every dog that I correct in this fashion,

I am saving his life.

There are service dogs, police dogs, war dogs, and working dogs.
For many of these animals, one bad habit makes them worthless.
Just like people.

Look at the kids that shoot others? They should have been treated the way
I treat a dog that has become worthless due to ONE BAD habit. One good
baseball bat on the head is often enough to get the job done.

Example. One dog had a bad habit. I corrected him once.
In his whole life, 10 years plus, he never did it again. I made that dog
valuable, very valuable, with one correction at the right place and the
right time.

I am sorry, but Logic is on MY SIDE !

Some people are too soft hearted to do any serious training of anything. I
have a grand daughter that way. He is going to a horse college now. She
owns a beautiful and intelligent dog.
She may become a horse trainer. I tell her, she has to learn when to
correct and discipline. She does love her dog. She cannot scold or
correct him. A terrible situation.

AND given that there has been such an assault on their systems (deworming,
whatever for coccidia and changes in their diet ) I'd say - STOP ALL excess stuff and put them on a simple raw diet -
something more than chicken necks because that is wy too much bone-to-meat
ratio (they need something more solid to firm up their stool)...

You don't say where you are located, but there are a lot of excellent suppliers
of raw foodjust ensure that you get something that has bone included (ie.
chicken WITH ground bone, or beef with bone ground in, etc.) and give that to
them morning and night.

Truly raw honey is one of natures miracles...

Purchase raw/unpasturized honey from a health food store,

Honey can legally be heated to 160 degrees and still called/labeled 'raw'.

There are only two commercially available brands (that I know of) that are
guaranteed to be not heated at all...

Really Raw

and

YS Organics

These are the only two commercially available that you should buy.

Locally produced is always best, as long as you know for a fact (and can
confirm for yourself) that it is not heated.

Heating destroys the enzymes, and it is the enzymes that provide the
magic.

Honey is Mother Nature's natural antibiotic.

It is much more than that, but yes, it has powerful anti-biotic

Purchase raw/unpasturized honey from a health food store, apply liberally to
spot, cover with a layer of gauze and then a waterproof dressing of some
sort (even a chunk of plastic wrap would work). The waterproof layer is to
prevent sticky honey from getting all over your clothes.

I would leave the honey compress on for 24 hours and then remove by
showering and reapply.

Within 6 weeks, the ulcer was healed closed.

Honey is Mother Nature's natural antibiotic.

For those who are diabetic, applying the honey compress does NOT affect your
blood sugars.

One of my relatives has been finned by catfish.

This has been associated with "Flesh Eating Syndrome" and one friend of
mine died within 24 hours after being finned.

Anyway you cut it, this is bad news.

He was finned on both his hard and leg. The hand has healed somewhat but
the leg has a large black spot and he has had surgery already. The
infection is very deep and is draining a lot.

Any ideas or suggestions at all highly appreciated.
He is using CS but I doubt if it is enough.

Fortunately, he is in his early 40's, very strong, and reasonably healthy,
a weight lifter and a runner.

I only learned tonight about the catfish fins.

And yes, bones can cause problems, but when I weigh the potential problems

Re: CS>re: Snoring/Obstructive Sleep Apnea

2005-08-22 Thread Denise Rollheiser
I thought the same thing, solhow in the world am I supposed to SLEEP
given that I'm attached a myriad of ways to lines, with electrodes taped to
my head (in various spots), my upper lip, my chin, my eyes, a band around my
chest, etc etc.

It took me 2 hours to fall asleep and at that, my sleep was very broken.
BUT it did give the techs a chance to record what happened to me during what
little sleep I did have. THEN, to add insult to injury ! they woke
me and put on a CPAP machine and told me to go back to sleep.

The only saving grace, for me, was that I had been using a CPAP machine
for about 6 months prior to my sleep study (I had been dx'd with chronic
obstructive sleep apnea by a neurologist and had to wait to get in for the
sleep study, but was lucky enough to get a CPAP machine at diagnosis)...

When I put the CPAP on, I fell asleep within MINUTES and slept a solid 4
hours.

The end result was that I stopped breathing somewhere between 30 and 40
times an hour for up to 15 seconds at a time!!! No wonder (before using the
CPAP machine) I was tired in the mornings! My snoring also kept my
household (including animals) awake at night.

I no longer suffer from sleep apneafor me, the 'cure' was having
weight loss surgery in April 2004. I had to use the CPAP machine until
about August 2004 and then found that it was more of a hinderance than a
benefit and haven't used it sinceI had dropped about 40#s when I stopped
using the CPAP machine.

I have a very close friend who suffers from some major problems...cancer
(she had a bi-lateral mastectomy in Oct 04), fibromyalgia and MS.

How to I broach the subject with her that I think (hell I KNOW!) that CS
would be of benefit to her...? She lives a fair distance from me (I am in
Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and she lives in Abbotsford, British Columbia) so I
am unable to provide any physical support to her.

She is going through another rough time at present...bloodwork shows
elevated creatinine and BUN levels and the fear is that it is either kidney
failure or leukemia due to radiation (for the cancer).

I have been struggling with how to present CS as a 'course of
treatment'...after all, we all know that it won't hurt her and maybe, just
maybe will be of help. But, like I said - how do I go about introducing her
to CS...?

 Thanks.

Re: CS>Testimonial

I had an infected ulcer on my leg (MRSA positive, on course of Cipro
antibiotics AND steroid creme).

Had tried CS with NO SUCCESS. Used raw unpasteurized honey as a daily

SO - not to say that the CS did not/willnot work for me in other
instances, but in this case - HONEY - Mother Nature's own antibiotic (so to
speak) was what worked.

There are all sorts of sides to be listened to and especially if someone

Also - preservatives in processed foods such as salami, sandwich meats,
etc., might be a cause of her behavior. I know a family with a child who is
autistic, have had wonderful success in 'reversing' (can't think of the
appropriate word right now) his autism symptomology just by NOT feeding
foods with preservatives (and sugar) in them. Even to the point where they
DO NOT use leftovers due to mold growth... Stuart still has some problems;
BUT they are significantly better than when he was eating all that

Re: CS>EFT is amazing.....

2005-04-24 Thread Denise Rollheiser
Thank you for this information, Steve. I have just started therapy for
some issues that I need to deal with and my therapist uses EFT. I have
found it to be a wonderful godsend for me. After my initial session, I was
so much more relaxed and at ease with life that - well - it was amazing.

It is amazing (and somewhat surprising to a newbie) how much of life's
troubles could be so easily dealt with by things such as CS and EFT.

For me, not only do I use CS personally but I also treat dog injuries with
it. My golden retriever lad (20 m/o male) got into a scrap yesterday
afternoon with a playmate of his (a 2 y/o male american staffordshire
terrier). It was 'boy horny-mones' that caused the scrap.

Deaego (my golden) ended up with a puncture wound on his nosebled like
crazy but after a dose of arnica for him, a dose of rescue remedy to calm MY
nerves, and some liberal application of CS a couple of times last night and
again this morning...I am happy to report that there is a tiny scab at the
puncture site, his nose is cool and moist and he shows no ill-effects of his
'adventure' of yesterday.

We are just starting dog show circuits for this yearI am putting a
bottle of CS in my tack box to take with me...

Re: CS>Help for Wilma?

2005-02-05 Thread Denise Rollheiser
Can't help with the other stuff but weight loss surgery AND diarrhea I do
have experience with

First off - for the diarrhea - I use a slurry of slippery elm
powdermixing about a tsp of s.e. with a little bit of water, juice or in
some yogurt and take that, repeating every 4 hours as neededI 'cured' a
raging case of 'shotgun poops' in myself within 12 hours.

I too had weight loss surgery (bioliopancreatic diversion with duodenal
switch) in April 2004 and have found that the s.e. works on the diarrhea as
well as something called BROMELAIN...the pineapple enzyme. Works as an
anti-inflammatory AND an anti-diarrheal (and for me to a degree - the
'smell')...

Personally - I would avoid all soy products or as much as possible. While
I do use protein powders occasionally (and a protein bar for those mornings
that I am running late), I do not make it a habit of consuming them.

I would also suggest that she get in contact with her weight loss
surgeonshe might very well have sprung a leak or an abscess and that
definately needs to be checked into.

 Hope this helps.

I followed your instructions and hopefully, within the next day or two

Re: CS>

2005-01-24 Thread Denise Rollheiser
Thanks, Kent. I've decided NOT to start the gabapentinmy neurologist
could not guarantee that it would help and, well, I've been living with the
'cold at the core feet' for 8 months now - I'm gonna continue trying to deal
with it by 'mind over matter'! The sensations in my feet are primarily that of
ICE COLDso cold in fact, that at times it feels that if I bump them, they
will shatter - much like the Robert Patrick character in Terminator 2 when he
gets covered in nitrogen gas!

I've been working sooo long to get off of all prescribed medications (other
than the supplements I now have to take as a result of my weight loss surgery)
AND combined with the fact that I am not amuzed with the side effects that I
read (about the gabapentin)I guess I've decided to take charge of my own
medical treatment!

That and I am in the process of finding a classic-trained homeopathic
practitioner

Heck, with CS, the support of everyone here and some 'tweaking' that I'll do
on my own - to paraphrase a movie (who's title I forget)"Doctors! I don
need no stinkin' doctors!"

Temps have been totally strange latelylast Monday it was -30C and 24
hours later (Tues morning) it was -2C and freezing rain. This morning it is
-6C with a forecast high of +2 and more freezing rain slated for this week!

Mother Earth definately has her undies in a knot!

Hi Denise,
I have been on gabapentin, since I suffered a spinal cord injury six years
ago. If your feet feel like they are "burning" similar to the body warming up
from frostbite, then the gabapentin may help. It is primarily used for
neuropathic pain. I know for myself CS has no effect on my particular
"neuropathic" situation. I'm not sure how bad (liver and kidney) gabapentin
is, perhaps Dr. Kenney or Mr. Harris can be of some assistance here. On a
different note, Good luck with the cold weather I called my sister in Regina
and she said it was -25 (I'm originally from there).

 WOW!

First off - I guess I should apologize for not putting O/T in the subject
linebut I can't figure out why the subject line that I had typed in my
original post did not show up!The wonders of cyber-space!

Secondly - and more importantly - WOW! WOW! WOW! I am totally grateful
and appreciative of the responses I have gotten so far. I knew that I would
not have to resort to 'drastic measures' (ie. removing body parts) but -
what an education I am receiving.

I am printing off the posts as I see them and will peruse them at great
lengthalready I have realize that "I am just an egg" and there is sooo
much more to learn. (Well - I already knew that - I just didn't know what
words to put into questions to be put on the road of knowledge!)

Again, thank you soo much for sharing a most important thing ... the GIFT
OF YOU!

CS>

2005-01-21 Thread Denise Rollheiser
Not sure if I've ever introduced myselfI'm Denise, from Saskatoon,
Saskatchewan Canada and I have been lurking for some months here, trying to
learn all I can about CS - and WOW! I have learned lots!

I'm needing to pick your collective brains, please..I apologize for this
being a tad lengthy but I am hoping that someone might possibly be able to
provide a light at the end of the tunnel for me!

A bit of 'background' infoI have a number of auto-immune disorders - type
II diabetes (since resolved following biliopancreatic diversion/duodenal switch
in April 04), chronic obstructive sleep apnea (resolved as a result of BPD/DS
surgery and a subsequent loss of 65#s to date), Graves Disease (dx Jan 1998)
and I have been on eltroxin since Aug 1998.

I suffered from cold feet (internal core cold NOT cold to touch) in 1998 after
the radioactive isotope drink to deal with my overactive thyroid; this symptom
went away when my thyroid counts were better under control. I have again been
living with 'core cold feet' since my BPD/DS surgery...I have seen a surgeon
(my primary caregiver wanted to rule out circulatory problems), I have seen
an endocrinologist who advises me that he refuses to adjust my thyroid
medication until I have lost all the weight that I can post-surgery. I have
seen a hypnotist in an attempt to learn how to control my internal body
thermometer myselfI refuse to return to this psychiatrist/hypnotist as he
was most insistent that I attend 'group therapy sessions' (3 days/week for 2
hours each time - which would actually be 3 hours each time when you factor in
travel time to and from work).

Okay - enough 'background'...

I saw my neurologist today (21 Jan 05) about the 'cold feet' that I have been
experiencing since April 04.

After a thorough neurological exam (?), Dr. V gave me a diagnosis of diabetic
neuropathy.! Duh - I was a diabetic for 10 years, the last 4 quite severe
so this was not a surprise diagnosis to me! He dictated his report while I was
sitting in the exam room and I am going to be contacting my family physician
next week to get a copy of this report as there were some 'interesting' words
that I heard him use

I asked him if this 'neuropathy' that I had is also known as 'peripheral'
neuropathyDr. V said that it was a form of peripheral neuropathyagain -
not a surprise to me.

There are a couple of drugs that we discussed as maybe being of
assistanceTopomax (topamax) and Gabapentin...I have a prescription for
gabapentin...

I came home and did a google search for gabapentin and topomaxand I'm not
sure I'm willing to start taking either drug.

Not sure what to do/which direction to go from hereI have kinda hit the end
of the road as far as looking for answersI always figured that the
neurologist would be sort of the last step in this journey and well - now that
I am here - I'm not sure I like it!

I have read with great interest about CS working on a myriad of medical
problems...I am wondering if it (CS) might be able to help me deal with the
problems I am experiencing

I apologize again for the length of my 'story' - but I am almost ready to have
my feet amputated to get rid of the 'cold'and I know that something as
drastic as amputation wouldn't be the answer either'cause then there'd be
the'phantom pain!' to deal with.

Thank you.

2004-12-02 Thread Denise Rollheiser
And at a local hospital when I worked there, (sounds like one of those urban

name of "Nurse". His wife was an R.N. (I'll leave you the joy of putting the
