Interesting you should say that Bob - as a child with an annual flu and one
time pneumonia I only ever wanted, craved, my mother's lemon drink, made with a
heap of common white sugar and fresh lemons it always helped.

Now I take Aconite 12x or 30c and or Ferr Phos 6x (homeopathic preps) which
ever is closest and I never get colds, flu or any URTIs (upper respiratory
tract infections) however, different people need different remedies, those may
not work for everyone.

My 'everything but the kitchen sink' routine when I feel that first
throat/nasal 'tickle' is
oscillococcinum, CS, Sambucol (original formula) and Vit C. Except for the
Vit C, I give it about 15 minutes between taking each product, holding them
in my mouth as long as possible. And, knock on wood, I haven't had a cold
in quite a few years now. I use the same on hubby and it works for him
too. Just getting him to let me know when he feels that first tickle is
the trick..lol.
When I have been around someone with a cold, even if I don't feel like I am
coming down with something, I often take a few doses of Airborne for a day
or so, just as a precaution.Lola H.

Interesting you should say that Bob - as a child with an annual flu and
one time pneumonia I only ever wanted, craved, my mother's lemon drink,
made with a heap of common white sugar and fresh lemons it always helped.

Now I take Aconite 12x or 30c and or Ferr Phos 6x (homeopathic preps)
which ever is closest and I never get colds, flu or any URTIs (upper
respiratory tract infections) however, different people need different
remedies, those may not work for everyone.

Here is a four hour cold cure using sugar! Go to
health-science-spirit.com. Research from George Last shows that common
sugar will cure a cold and even influenza. Also, if you want to shorten
the duration of a cold get some zinc acetate lozenges (called Zinx).
Google this for more info. They work, I’ve used them successfully a couple
of times. Once at the first sign I took them and it never developed,
another after a day of symptoms I took them (one dissolved in the mouth
every two hours) and it was gone in two days with the symptoms greatly
 diminished.

Thanks for this Lena I never thought of it like that. I have persevered
with the O of O and the cold has abated considerably. I am also taking CS
and nebulizing with it as well as the cold has Œgone on my chest¹ now for
want of a better expression. I have great difficulty coughing as I have a
very small lung capacity and all I get is a tightness around the chest.
This is easing now after nebulising and I am still taking the O of O. My
son is too‹much to my amazement as it tastes so foul just to avoid getting
the cold, and so far, it seems to be working. dee

Hi Dee,

On the surface, you could be right, but when you consider that most cold
symptoms are actually indications of immune response, rising to the body's
defense, the oil of oregano may have spurred a more intense immune reaction,
that has reduced the damages of the cold.

I have Lyme disease, and haven't 'had a cold' for years, but actually my
body hasn't been able to respond to cold virus, making me drag down with
general malaise and fatigue instead. All of the regular, albeit obnoxious,
'symptoms' we grouse about are actually signs of an an immune system going
into overdrive, doing what it should.

There's a lot more to this than meets the eye or the cultural perception.
Western medicine is all about suppressing 'symptoms' but not necessarily
addressing the underlying causes of real illness.

Be well,
Léna

Hi Lois, thanks for your remedy‹I actually remember my mum doing this for us
when we were little. I think people Œknew¹ things in the old days, which
have been forgotten now owing to the big pharma influence.

I have changed my mind about the O of O as I did persevere with it and now I
find the cold is a lot better after a couple of days. Mind you, I have also
been using large doses of CS and also spraying with it so maybe the
combined frontal attack is working. My daughter has been ill off and on for
six weeks with this bug, so if it gets cured in less than a week, then that
will surely be a cause for recommendation. I am starting with a tight chest
though, so mustn¹t get too complacent! Dee PS cant bath‹we only have a

@ Dee, as I believe you, and most others on here I guess already know, I take
a small quantity of EIS every morning and when I feel the wog coming on I up
that dose to 250 odd ml for a couple of days, symptoms of impending wog is gone
within 24-48 hours, has never failed me. I have only had symptoms of impending
wog twice in around 8 years now and have knocked it on the head both times
within that time frame, and as I have written here before, I purposely expose
myself to anyone and everyone who is loaded with the wog in an attempt to prove
to myself that what I'm doing actually works, seemingly it does as I'm no super
or extraordinary healthy individual.
Just as a personal observationThere are times when I get the sneezes for no
apparent reason, this I am beginning to suspect is a wog of some sort which
maybe has tried to 'invade?' my person and hence has been dealt with by my
regular daily intake. I can't prove that of course, but then nobody can
disprove that suspicion either so I'm running with it g. By the same token
some could say it's hay fever or asthma or some pollutant in the atmosphere or
whatever else which may promote those sneezing episodes but I'm running with a
wog trying to take hold and the EIS has dealt with it. As I just said though,
I can't prove that is the case, but nobody else can prove it's NOT the case
either.
