One can always write another "media receiver" (the application that runs inside the CC and is responsible for all communication with controller(s) as well as getting the audio), but that a much bigger effort. Ideally, if one want to engage in such venture, it's probably a better ideal to write a native slimproto application :) So basically, today, I'm using the "default receiver" and it's still track after track, and I have to wait for track N to end before sending N+1. Unless you are using high res audio i.e. above 16/44 or your wifi near the amp is poor then a £20 Chromecast Audio is the cheapest option but if its an AVR then a full Chromecast at £30. There are LMS control apps for Android and iOS - if you are lucky SWMBO has a iPhone and using iPeng on that to control the player on the hifi just works and she will get the hang of it in no time. This is a great read - thanks! Very helpful. It's all been a very steep learning curve for me in recent months. I spent a fortune on the AMP, only to find that none of my LMS playlists showed on the AMP. All other metadata worked a treat via LMS. Given that we already had a gazillion squeezebox radios already working perfectly, I really didn't want to install ANOTHER server on the PC, but Twonky was the only one that 'picked up' my playlists. The helpful chaps at Richer and on the Yammy Help Desk all confirmed exactly your point about a lack of standards - and I suddenly realised that a 'simple' system that fed all the radios AND the HiFi (including showing all my playlists) was a bit of a pipe dream! I've learned so much in the past few months! I still consider LMS to be the system-of-choice, but it doesn't play nicely with the Amp so I've had to compromise. The Twonky Help Forum has been hopeless, so it's lucky I've only had one query since I installed it. [emoji5] Your point about using something like Google is probably the logical step forward... Well chaps, we seem to have come full circle... Mysteriously a little earlier the problem where LMS wasn't showing on my various apps on my phone, sorted itself out and I could then access my MP3s from my Win10 PC on my phone. Still not sure how it resolved itself! Bizarrely, as soon as I unchecked the plugin by Andy, LMS disappeared from my phone app. As soon as I re-enabled the plugin, LMS re-appeared on my phone. Obviously the two events are connected in some way. So, in a round about sort of way, if LMS isn't showing on my phone, I just disable Andy's plugin and then re-enable it and LMS re-appears. I don't know enough technically about what's going on here, but coincidence or not, it seem to have solved my original problem of getting LMS to show on my phone. I think we should all go and have a lie down now and close the ticket on this one! :) Thanks guys, I think I would have pulled out my last remaining hairs if you hadn't pointed me in various directions! Hi bpa I know what you mean! I'm now at the stage where I'm wondering 'do I just live with the glitch'? :) At least all the radios are working and I can play all my music! I think I might be a bit OCD! Anyway, I've followed your previous instructions to the letter and it's created another log. Still no date stamp, but the log is a lot larger in content. I know from experience repeating tests with slight variation can addle the brain - I've spent hours chasing "bugs" which were just due to my finger trouble. So from my perspective I have to assume finger trouble first rather than start exploring very unusual LMS behaviour. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108124 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Error message
If timestamp are not re-appearing after log.conf file deleted - then the steps have not been done properly - sorry. 1. LMS was not stopped/restarted - some users think stopping control panel stops LMS - it doesn't 2. The log.conf file deleted was not the one is use by the LMS running - check the location of prefs directory thro' WebUI Setting/Information I suggest 1. stop LMS. Make sure it is stopped by checking Web GUI is not working. 2. Delete the logs.conf file. Check the directory the file has been deleted in case of permissions etc. 3. Delete the server.log file 4. Empty Windows rubbish bin 5. start LMS. >From WebGUI Setting/Information - check log to see iof timestamp ios back. If no time stamp please copy log.conf to a post. I checked the uPNP code - if DEBUG was enabled there would be a record of a "SUBSCRIBE" or "UNSUBSCRIBE" request with the origin URL before each of the "412" errors. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108124 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Error message
There is somehting wrong with your system (probably unrelated) - all log message should be date & time stamped - yours are missing this. To fix this Stop Squeezebox Server, delete the log.conf file in your prefs directory, then restart the server. Also no DEBUG level message in the log - are you sure you have check box ticked when you clicked Apply. The log message won't tell the cause of the problem. Each subscribe fail is failure to subscribe to an event generator of a upnp "device" - if the device or devices can be identified it will hint at the root cause. I suspect network. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108124 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

No new messages so after looking uPNP code and it seems all logging is done at DEBUG level. Please repeat with network.upnp at DEBUG. If these mnessage have just started happening - what has changed on your system ? There seems to be roughly same number of upnp messages as ickstream messages - is isckstream new ? bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108124 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

WebUI Settings/Advanced/Logging 1. Scroll down to network.upnp and set to INFO 2. Check the box marked "Save logging settings for use at next application restart" 3. Click Apply. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Error message
These sort of errors may be due to caching old data. UPNP is the mechanism which will make LMS appear under Windows and other system which recognise uPNP servers. I'd enable network.upnp logging to get more info. If it is on startup you'll also need to tick the "save logging ..." bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108124 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
