[talk-ph] OSM way map colored by the last editor
Hi guys, The folks over at MapBox has created a neat map showing the linear ways in the OSM database colored by the last editor. ITO World has created such maps for a long time now, but MapBox made it into a worldwide, slippy, zoomable version. The Map itself: http://bl.ocks.org/lxbarth/raw/6545162/ Blog post: http://www.mapbox.com/blog/osm-community-visualized/ Some highlights: Totor's work on Cebu is quite obvious: http://bl.ocks.org/lxbarth/raw/6545162/#9/10.3595/123.7541 Ian's handiwork in San Pablo and Los Baños is visible: http://bl.ocks.org/lxbarth/raw/6545162/#11/14.1389/121.3196 Metro Manila and the surrounding area is expectedly colorful: http://bl.ocks.org/lxbarth/raw/6545162/#11/14.5680/121.0532 but Maning's orange-pink is dominant in Marikina, Rally's light green in Taytay, and I am apparently assigned a light yellow. :) G-eMapper's work in Cabanatuan area is striking: http://bl.ocks.org/lxbarth/raw/6545162/#11/15.4845/120.9729 docsam is starting to dominate in Davao City: http://bl.ocks.org/lxbarth/raw/6545162/#11/7.1224/125.5727 ___ talk-ph mailing list talk-ph@openstreetmap.org https://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk-ph

[OSM-talk-be] Imports in the North of the province of Antwerp
In the North of the province of Antwerp (north of Hoogstraten), you'll find a lot of buildings that were imported by 3d shapes. Almost none of them seems to match with the AGIV photos. The buildings are to small, to big, rotated, have the wrong shape, there are phantom buildings as well. Pretty enoying A lot of work has to be done there. Another thing I noticed is that someone indicates each church tower as man_made=tower. An example is http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/node/2388544510 Is this correct tagging ?
A filosofia do OpenStreetMap segue a mesma linha anti-burocrática. Veja o caso o Matheus Eduardo. E se for bloqueado? O banimento do projeto me parece suficiente. Sei lá algo, do gênero.

(356.000 km...) ??? Re: [Talk-it] Due considerazioni da niubbo

___ Talk-ja mailing list Talk-ja@openstreetmap.org https://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk-ja

Just a general point about shops. There is a perfectly good OPEN data source containing address ( postcode centroid as lat/lon) available for all food outlets covering most UK local authorities. This is the Food Standards Agency's Food Hygiene Rating Schemehttp://ratings.food.gov.uk/open-data/en-GB. I don't in general use it for armchair mapping (the exceptions being places I used to know well, where I have used FHRS to verify that a pub/restaurant/cafe is still in business), but it is very powerful for a) finding places to survey; and b) adding address data. It is certainly likely to cover major chains such as : Tesco, Morrison, Sainsbury's, Waitrose, Asda, Boots, Superdrug, W.H. Smith. Like most data sources it's not perfect: I've encountered a few omissions (including the banqueting hall mentioned in an earlier thread) as well as out-of-date information. License info on the FHRS site is somewhat opaque, but Open Data gov provides this searchhttp://data.gov.uk/data/search?license_id-is-ogl=trueq=food+hygiene . So there is no need to even think about using Store Locator stuff on proprietary websites. Like most data sources it's not perfect: I've encountered a few omissions (including the banqueting hall mentioned in an earlier thread) as well as out-of-date information. There seems to be quite a high omission and error rate in my borough. From the confusion an initial report produced, I'm not sure the council is actually set up to cope with intelligence about food businesses not produced by the businesses themselves, except, possibly if there is a complaint. On the other hand, in the case of the store locator mapper, they missed an existing node that had an FHRS address that is more plausible than the one they hads (might be an Id problem - they had 15, the original one had 1-5; maybe Id wants pure numbers), and one of their that I corrected came up with a more detailed address in FHRS. License info on the FHRS site is somewhat opaque, but Open Data gov provides this search. So there is no need to even think about using Store Locator stuff on proprietary websites.
