Re: The Bat! 4.0.39.39 (BETA)
Hello NetVicious, I am going back to 4.0.32.4 as this is the last version that does not suffer from that bug and the other serious bug that makes messages disappear when folder properties are changed (introduced in 4.0.34 I think). Or does anyone have a more stable version pre 4.1.1.1? I think if you used a 4.1.x beta or a high version of 4.0.39.x series you will have the newer indexes on your message base and you cannot downgrade to previous versions. So, you need a 4.0.39.x version, not 4.0.39.39. You are of course right, that is important for anyone reading this! I forgot to mention that I did a backup before switching from my good ol' 32.4 to 39.39. When switching back I did an unix mailbox export of all messages that were created after the backup and simply copied them back to the older version. That worked fine, don't seem to miss any files yet. -- Martin TB! 4.0.32.4 on Windows XP 5.1 Service Pack 3 Current beta is 4.1.3 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Just a note to everyone thinking about using this (last non-upgrade-fee) version until he's ready to pay for the next version: This version seems to suffer from a bug in the sorting office that does not allow to change a memo that is set as action. Hello Tbbeta, I just installed that version (I'll not upgrade yet until my company decides which client to use in the future) coming from 4.0.32.4 and it told me it converts the database and this would enable multiple flags to be set, if I recall correctly. First Click eaten by Editor Window
Hello Tbbeta, Hope I manage to explain: when you set in the cursor in the mail editor window somewhere, set the focus to e.g. the subject field, and then click again in the editor (not where the cursor was before, but somewhere else) the cursor stays where it was before you clicked in the subject field. This might be by design, I could imagine some people would not want to have the cursor replaced but rather continue where they were. But for me this is the source of constant errors and deleting: sometimes I add another addressee or change the subject, then notice a typo in the text and click there and start to type...but the text gets typed somewhere else then. So I would like to know how many of you would prefer it my way and how many would like to keep it as it is. Depending on this I would file a request for a change or a request for a preferences option. -- Martin TB! 4.0.34 on Windows XP 5.1 Service Pack 3 Current beta is 4.0.34.17 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Scheduler: Remind later does not work
Hi, I just had the problem that an event I set to remind later did not reoccur. I had the event set to remind me of a mail to be answered at 10:00 and a reminder one second before the event starts. I did not have the time to work on that email at 10:00, so I clicked remind later 5 minutes. TB warned me that the notification starts after the event. Change notification time?. I clicked no, because being notificated 5 minutes later is exactly what I want. The alert popup disappeared, but 5min later nothing happened! So I made another test and this time in the dialog Change notification time? I clicked Yes. This simply brought me back to the alert popup. Errrm...? Am I supposed to open the event, change the event time and save it again??? Is this a bug in the current beta? Or what would be the correct way to be reminded again after 5 minutes? Re: Address Autocomplete
Hello Thomas, Thanks for jumping in, as intended. You quoted me and wrote: MS It looks like it's the last used address on top. Do you all think MS this is a logical way to sort a list where you search an address to MS delete or one that you can't remember because you used it a long time MS ago, maybe? PMFJI. I think this is the logical way. The most recent address is actually most likely the one that I use most often, and therefore most likely the correct address. MS I'd prefer to have it sorted alphabetically. Please no! I would ensure that it always shows a non-desired address first. I think I would disable autocomplete from history then (and grieve for it). I think this is a misunderstanding, because in the email before that I wrote: MS I can, however, delete the entry this way when I use the above MS mentioned button on the right side of the address field to open the MS list, go down with the cursor key and hit enter. MS MS BTW: This list shows all entries in a non alphabetic order, so it can be MS hard to find the entry to delete. What order is used there? So I thought it was obvious that I did *not* mean the list that pops up as soon as you start typing (let's call it the autocomplete list). There, I agree, the last used item should be on top. Instead I meant the list of manually entered addresses (let's call it the manual address list, that's the one that opens when you click the down-arrow-button on the right of an address field). I think an alphabetic list would make more sense there, since this is just a list of all addresses I ever typed in manually, so it would be more easy to find an item. Or am I getting something wrong here? MS Hm, but I guess that's something that depends on taste and the way MS you use that list. I use it only to delete erratic or unused MS entries. And I use the autocomplete function to autocomplete email addresses - there you see how people use it differently. ;-) That's right again. I too use the autocomplete list to autocomplete, and the manual address list for managing manually entered addresses ;-) -- Martin TB! 4.0.14.7 on Windows XP 5.1 Service Pack 2 Current beta is 4.0.14.7 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Re: Address Autocomplete
Hello Art, I'm not sure when it stopped working in the 4.0 process, but you were able to delete addresses that appear in the Autocomplete drop down box in the To, CC, BCC fields in a message. Previously, all you had to do was scroll down with the down arrow, and hit delete on the one you wanted to delete. I am not sure what you mean by down arrow: the cursor down-key on your keyboard or the TB!-button on the right side of the address-field with the arrows pointing downwards? Here I can NOT delete an entry when I start typing the first letters, the list pops up and I use the cursor to go down the list, and hit delete. I can, however, delete the entry this way when I use the above mentioned button on the right side of the address field to open the list, go down with the cursor key and hit enter. Hello MAU, It looks like it's the last used address on top. Do you all think this is a logical way to sort a list where you search an address to delete... If I know which address I want to delete, I just start typing it in the corresponding field and the drop down list will open displaying only those addresses that match what I have so far typed. At any moment, I can use the down arrow key to get into the list, scroll if needed, and delete. Yes, that would be nice, and that is exactly what's not working here and on Art's computer! As soon as the list opens automatically (and not by me pressing on the button on the right) I can't delete an entry! ...or one that you can't remember because you used it a long time ago, maybe? Re: How to create a german CSAPI user dictionary (was: Add words to german CSAPI not possible (was: Re: 4.0.14.3))
Hello MAU, So I had a look at your registry settings (thanks for sending those along) and noticing that while your settings had a key with the correct locale id for each language ( 1034 for Spanish-Spain, 1033 for English-United States) the registry key my file was registered in had a key of 7, obviously not a valid locale. Did you have CSAPI German selected as the speller language when you created the user dictionary? No, there was no option for that. Only a list of languages, and, funny enough, german three times. But I tested all of them, and none worked. What finally made it work was something you mentioned in one of your earlier mails about the subject, namely some code in the first line of the .dic file. So I looked at the american english dictionary and found in the first line: #LID 0 I added this to my CSAPI_DE_UD.dic and voilà! It works! a valid locale. None of my CSAPI user dictionaries include any numeric or alphanumeric code in the first line, they are just a plain text list of words, one per line. What I am guessing happened to you is that you started with a completely empty user dictionary while I did Import my old user dictionaries right after creating the new ones. That's right, that's the way I did it. Again, my guess is that if right after creating the dictionary you had added a first word from the same dialog, it would have worked. I think that the '#LID 0' is just taken as the first word in the dictionary and it is probably displayed as such if you do a Spell Checker/Dictionaries and select your CSAPI German one. Yes, that is well possible. The '#LID 0' does, however, not appear in my list of words. So I think it's even more easy to - create a textfile with the line #LID 0 in it Yes, it seems easier but with the 'risk' of having to create several Registry keys manually. And also, #LID 0 is not needed, just one (any) word that you want to be in your user dictionary. So I looked at the american english dictionary and found in the first line: #LID 0 I forgot to ask, which American English dictionary? Because I have: #LID 1033 1 89 (in accent.tlx) #LID 24941 (in correct, tlx) #LID 1033 1 1017 (in Ssceam.tlx) #LID 24941 (in userdic.tlx) Neither of them...alongside with the new german dic I also created an American English one, and when I looked into that file it had the '#LID 0' in it. So to me it seems like this is a miracle that only the developers can work out. I don't even think we can file a useful bug report, because what we did and what worked does not follow a logic principle. Maybe let's file a report for the greyed out buttons, and then we check if these are working correctly and creating the right registry keys. Can you do this? You are much quicker as I am I guess... Hello MAU, When I copy some text from the preview pane and then 'Past as Quotation' I get an extra character at the end of the quoted paragraph that is displayed as a square. The new Editor Font Selection with Profiles: Problems with reading HTML-Mails
Hello Tbbeta, I am having trouble with the display of received HTML Mails since 4.x. Let me explain: I have a fixed width pixel font set for writing and reading text mails (profont http://www.tobias-jung.de/seekingprofont/) that works only in 8px size. In 3.99.29 it was used for all text-only display, and HTML-Mails without font definition were displayed using another font, because there were different settings for MicroEd/Plain Text and HTML/Windows. But since 4 there is only one font definition, divided into different sets for different locales. That's good idea, but it has the disadvantage that the same font is now used for displaying plain text and html-text (without font definition). This has the effect that my fixed width font is used for normal text in HTML-Mails (which it shouldn't), and the size also differs from what I defined in the settings, so its near to unreadable. I'd rather not switch the font because is is so perfectly readable. So I switched to display HTML/Text Emails as text first as a temporary workaround. But what I'd prefer was another setting in preferences - viewer/editor - profiles - [profile] that allows me to set Plain Text or HTML (or both) for a profile, in addition to the locales/languages selectable right now. What do you think? Maybe I am the only one having that problem. And please: no font discussion now, I searched for fonts to read plain text and program code on the net long enough to be sure I am using the font that suits me best...! ;-) -- Martin TB! 4.0.14.3 on Windows XP 5.1 Service Pack 2 Current beta is 4.0.14.3 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

How to create a german CSAPI user dictionary (was: Add words to german CSAPI not possible (was: Re: 4.0.14.3))
Hello MAU, First of all let me say how much I appreciate your efforts and time you use to help me. Ritlabs and this list can count themselves lucky to have someone like you on the messageboard. You've helped me so many times already...that beer deal still active? ;-) Yes, but it may not be straight forward (I'll explain why), let's see if I can lead you to it. Your explanation was absolutely perfect, and while it did not work here it surely pointed me into the right direction. Heres what I did: I (as suggested by you) keep older TB versions, so it was no problem to return to 3.99.29 and start the dialog, select New File, enter the filename, close the dialog. The dictionary appeared (strangely enough as Language: any beside the select box) in 3.99. But it did not work: it got lost when I reopened 3.99, and was not available in 4.0. The dic file was empty and I could not add words to it, no way. So I had a look at your registry settings (thanks for sending those along) and noticing that while your settings had a key with the correct locale id for each language ( 1034 for Spanish-Spain, 1033 for English-United States) the registry key my file was registered in had a key of 7, obviously not a valid locale. So I changed it to 1031 (German - Germany) but still no luck. What finally made it work was something you mentioned in one of your earlier mails about the subject, namely some code in the first line of the .dic file. So I looked at the american english dictionary and found in the first line: #LID 0 I added this to my CSAPI_DE_UD.dic and voilà! It works! So I think it's even more easy to - create a textfile with the line #LID 0 in it - create a registry key under [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RIT\The Bat!\CommonSpeller with the locale ID for the desired language (see http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/0h88fahh.aspx for those) - add a REG_DWORD (DWORD Value) named count in it, set the value to 1 - add a REG_SZ (String Value) in it named File #1 with the path to the file created in step 1. Hm, not really easy. But for me that worked... So thanks again for helping. But as far as I tested I am using new orthography with GE now...don't ask me how this works. -- Martin TB! 4.0.11 on Windows XP 5.1 Service Pack 2 Current beta is 4.0.14.2 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

4.0.14.4 : CSAPI dictionary macro %language not working as before
Hello Tbbeta, I have the following macro in my quicktemplates to switch to the german spell checker: %LANGUAGE=CSAPI GN%- That worked in 3.99.29, but does not work any more on 4.x - 4.0.14.1 I suppose that's because the key for German Language is no longer GN (mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED] seems to point this way). Hello Uwe, %LANGUAGE=CSAPI GN%- That worked in 3.99.29, but does not work any more on 4.x - 4.0.14.1 As I understood from previous discussion %LANGUAGE=GN should be enough. At least it works for SSCE. I cannot test CSAPI as I don't have Office 97. Re: 4.0.14.4 : CSAPI dictionary macro %language not working as before
Hello MAU, Like Uwe, I can't test with CSAPI because I don't have any German CSAPI dictionaries. But I have just installed the SSCE ones and '%LANGUAGE=GN' works fine from a GN quick template when I type GNCtrl+Space. Yeah, seems to me like its a problem with the CSAPI switching. But IIRC the CSAPI suggestions were much better than the ones built into TB 3.x (I guess these were the SSCE, or am I wrong?). -- Martin TB! 4.0.14.1 on Windows XP 5.1 Service Pack 2 Current beta is 4.0.14.1 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
Re: CSAPI user dictionaries not available - my workaround
Hello MAU, As you may know, I've been using CSAPI dictionaries for years and 'compiled' user dictionaries both for Spanish and British English. Up to version 3.99.29 everything works but, as I have reported in BT https://www.ritlabs.com/bt/view.php?id=6735 CSAPI user dics are not working for any of the 4.x versions. I am not sure if I misinterpret the whole thing, but as I reported in Set default spell check language or use Makro on TBUDL (mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED]) I believe that I don't have any other german spellchecker installed beside the CSAPI one, and it seems to work. Re: TB! offline usage
Hello Mark, TB! fetching mail seems to have priority over all other programs and makes all other tasks wait until TB has finished doing so. I cannot remember having seen this behaviour. TB runs all the time, even when I have disconnected the notebook, and everything runs fine. Is your computer really blocked when TB tries to connect to the server, and can't? Or do I misunderstand the whole point maybe? I once asked for an offline mode for a different reason: I am sometimes connected over an expensive mobile dataconnection and don't want TB to get all emails, only headers, then. So I deactivate the check mail every XX which can be done by a commandline parameter on startup of TB...however I installed my notebook freshly and can't seem to find the parameter, but if you search in the archives you'll surely find it. -- Martin TB! 3.99.3 on Windows XP 5.1 Service Pack 2 Current beta is 3.99.07 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Hello, So I deactivate the check mail every XX which can be done by a commandline parameter on startup of TB...however I installed my notebook freshly and can't seem to find the parameter, but if you search in the archives you'll surely find it. All non-Common Filters gone (was: 3.99.7)
Hello TBBeta, This version silently killed all Sorting-Office Filters that were not Common. Last version I used was 3.99.5 (I think, unfortunately I was overwriting the thebat.exe when updating) Any chance the filters are still there but just aren't displayed? Where (in which file) should I have a look then? Still have a backup of all tb user files, so I think I can restore them. Anyone else with this problem? If not I'll have a look if the filters are still there with the older version on my office computer tomorrow. (Notice for the Ritlabs Guys: I have my TB-datafiles on a network share. I retrieved them from the backup, but it seems the filters set is not stable. As you can see I went back to 3.99.05 and the filters are back! Yippie. Re: Wish for Labels: How to assign them to a message (was possibility of assigning more than 1 Colour Group?)
Hello Thomas, MS But as I think about it: a submenu or context menu would not be very MS effective when selecting more than one label for a message. Accidentally deleting folders using smart space reading
Hello Tbbeta, I am using smart space reading. Sometimes things happen like this: - I see there are new mails in a folder, so I click on it - The mail is deep inside a thread, so I press Space to open the first unread message in that thread - I find the thread to be not of much interest, so I press Del. In this case I chose to delete the folder, because the folder view is still the view with the focus on it, and so the folder is the thing Delete acts on. Up to now I was always lucky enough to read the message box Delete Folder? good enough, but one day I know I will delete the whole folder instead of the message. Re: AB: Export selection with accented letters in it to VCF: name changed:
Hello Mark, MS Looks like the i is missing. Shouldn't that be Cli=EBnten ? Yes, I have made a mistake by omitting the letter i in my report. Ok, that explains it. MS This seems to be correct. So it seems like I can't confirm your MS error in my Windows XP version (seeing that you use the same TB as I MS do). I don't get that. Unless you have not seen (due to your setup) what the original word looked like, namely with a diaeresis above the letter e (see attachment) Yes I saw the diaeresis. What I meant by this is correct is, that TB changed (encoded) the character ë to =EB by using the quoted printable encoding for the character. Have a look in your initial email, where you say: Try to export a selected record with First Name: Front Office Name : Invordering Cliënten Now press F9 (show source code of the email) and search for that passage there: it is encoded in the same way using =EB instead of ë. That is the way a program has to encode character that don't belong to the us-ascii characterset when using the quoted printable encoding, which is often used for email texts, too. So TB makes no mistake, it just uses the encoding to display a non ascii character in a VCF. And as I said: when I imported the VCF into Outlook it presented me the word Cliënten just right, so I am sure there is nothing wrong. -- Martin TB! 3.81.05 Beta on Windows XP 5.1 Service Pack 2 Current beta is 3.81.05 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html IMPORTANT: To register as a Beta tester, use this link first - http://www.ritlabs.com/en/partners/testers/

Wish: Fallback font in case current font cannot display all characters?
Hello tbbeta, I just read mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Courier New is used when font cannot display the charset of the current mail ...and I am also still having my problem mentioned in... mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Message shining through ...where I describe that when I use a bitmap font and read a message with some strange charset the font cannot display TB! switches the font to Courier, and when I read the next message with TB showing my font again the last message still shines through, which makes everything unreadable. So I thought: would someone support my wish to be able to (at least with some registry setting) set a fallback font TB uses in case the default font can't display all charsets? Hello MAU, Is there a BT report open? Maybe it is not a bug though and the feature was removed for some technical reasons when the UI was overhauled. Export Addressbook as CSV adds /20

Instead of removed Autosize option you should use Limit expansion of the first column to [x] levels on The Bat! Preferences / Messages dialog. This was changed several months ago. This does not achieve the same effect, AFAIK. Autosize democratly added additional width to *any* column when the client window was resized. This was very handy on a big monitor when changing TB's size. Limit expansion however only affects the first column, not all columns. They always keep their designated width. So even when I expand TB! over my 1900px wide display the columns are still as small as before. Me I am also missing the autosize feature, that disappeared a while ago when major rewrites of the interface took place. A little at least. Hello MAU, Thanks for taking the time! Not wanting to steal your time, but if you got one spare minute maybe you would like to explain briefly what the different TB virtual folders we can see there are used for and how you set those up to do what you want... OK, here we go. *Reply on TBBeta* Is a VF looking at (and only at)TBBeta real folder for messages with Colour Group 'Reply' (i.e. Filter = Colour is Reply). [...] So I guess you use a keyboard shortcut to color a message? *Watch TBBeta* Once a Watch folder is created to 'look in one or more folder' (TBBeta folder only in my case), you can go to into that folder messages list, select a message, right click on it and, on the context menu, select 'Specials/Watch replies in' and then the name of the Watch folder. Thought so. I have a similar folder here. One thing I always notice is that when I already marked a message to be watched, and I want to mark a second message, the checkmark is already there in the context menu. I have to uncheck it, and then go into the context menu again and re-check it to have the message appear in the watching folder...do you see the same? *To me* This one is a normal VF just looking for messages in TBBeta that are assigned to colour group 'R2me' (replies to me). Thats an interesting concept. Maybe I'll try that some day! And that's basically all. Feel free to ask is something is still unclear. Everything clear...and something learned again! Re: Add address submenu still has errors! (was: The Bat! 3.51.10 is now available)
Hello Peter, MM [-] (#0004871) Add address submenu was not working there is at least one error left in this section. I have one AB entry (myself) with 9 addresses which is assigned to two groups. If I click on Add address for example on Stefans entry first (who has two addresses) and after that navigate to and click on my own entry, I see Stefans addresses poping up. (See attached file) Can you reproduce this? I made a special addressbook entry with nine adresses, and tried to reproduce your error, but no matter how I try all works fine. What actions do you perform exactly (quick search etc) to get this error? -- Disclaimer: Sorry for not being able to reproduce your error. Not wanting to say that it's impossible that this error really occurs on your computer. It might also well be possible that I am not having the same context here that you have, thus not seeing your error here even though I would if I had the same context. Please don't get me wrong: I'm saying this just because last time I tried to help someone on this list I got a verbal slap in the face just because I could not reproduce the error... Re: Add address submenu still has errors! (was: The Bat! 3.51.10 is now available)
Hello Peter, MS What actions do you perform exactly (quick search etc) to get this error? Nothing special. ctrl+n, click on 'address book' icon on the right, choose group (Selbst as shown in the image), choose my name, RMB. That's all. Looks like putting a contact in a group is the trigger: when I put my test-contact with 9 emails into a group (its the only member there), exit addressbook, open new message, click on select addressbook button in To: field, select the group there and right-click on the *name* column I don't get the Add Adress item. But when I right-click on the e-mail column, the Add Adress item is there. Still no addresses from other persons here, but I guess our two errors are related. -- Martin TB! 3.51.10 on Windows XP 5.1 Service Pack 2 Current beta is 3.51.10 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html IMPORTANT: To register as a Beta tester, use this link first - http://www.ritlabs.com/en/partners/testers/
Re: Reminder: Buggy message list view persists
Hello Curtis, This means that as large threads expand, they would make your subject column nearly or completely take up the entire message list view area. The limit expansion option prevents this and I have it enabled. It's this option that's causing it. It's an old option that became buggy of recently. I don't know if I understand you right, but I can't imagine how this should work: on one hand you want to limit the width of the threaded column, but on the other hand you don't want the view on that column limited... ;-) Here when I enter a fixed size for that first column and have Limit expansion... set to, say, 10 level, all works fine. As long as the list fits in there I can see the topics, but after the 10th level, they disappear underneath the next column to the right. Thats what I told TB to do. When I don't limit the expansion, tb expands the width of the first column more an more with each expanded message that threads deeper. So as far as I can see every setting does just what it promises to do. Maybe your problem exists because you did not set a size for the first column? Did you try this? BTW, I used the thread mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED] to test this. It expands wonderfully... -- Martin TB! 3.51.8 on Windows XP 5.1 Service Pack 2 Current beta is 3.51.9 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html IMPORTANT: To register as a Beta tester, use this link first - http://www.ritlabs.com/en/partners/testers/
Re: What is TB doing after exiting?
Hello MAU, What is TB doing during this extra minute or so? Does anyone know? Never had this on my Windows XP notebook, 3-4 seconds max., no matter how long or how I used TB!. BUT: On my Windows 2000 Desktop, that accesses the mailbase on my Notebook via 100MBit-network, shutting down takes 2-4 minutes every time, TB! visible only in taskmanager, with no CPU usage. The harddrive however works like crazy. Hello 9Val, [-] (#0003968) Use By... Does Not Show which Folders are Using a View Mode Hm...hope I don't misunderstand, but here this seems to be still not working. Let me tell you what I did: - RMB on table header in list view of folder XY shows a checkmark besides Viewmode 1 - Options-Preferences-View Mode, I'm selecting Viewmode 1 - Clicking on Use by... - In the list folder XY is not marked in any way. I would expect it to be marked in some way. I went through your steps to reproduce, then replied, which exits the mail ticker. Then when i went back to reading mail. Its had lost the view mode. Each time i go back to the mailticker i have to reload the view mode. Do you suppose that our errors are linked? I didn't mean to hijack the thread... Yeah, think so. Even though here I can't even switch the viewmode, when I manually change the settings they're lost next time. So no thread hijacking here... MailTicker View Mode Issue
Hello tbbeta, When I try to change the viewmode of the mailticker list window (the one that pops up when you doubleclick on the ticker) it does not change. Reproduce: - have the mailticker pop up with an unread message - double-click on it to open the Browse Ticker Messages window - RMB on list header - here I see No view mode ticked - select one of your viewmodes : nothing happens - then select setup columns : the dialog shows a different view mode than the one selected (at least here) Can anyone confirm this? -- Martin TB! 3.5.35 on Windows 2000 5.0 Service Pack 4 Current beta is 3.51 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html IMPORTANT: To register as a Beta tester, use this link first - http://www.ritlabs.com/en/partners/testers/
[SOT] XHTML in Emails (was: Re: Weird HTML Message in my Mail)
Hello Jonathan, As far as I can see the code is not programmed to conform w3c standards, but with one exception the errors are only of formal nature. That one error however is a closing image tag /img which does not exist in any specification. See the XHTML specifications. All tags require a closing tag. ... Just curious, as I'm not so sure about XHTML in HTML-Emails, because currently I have to keep sticking with HTML 4 for some reasons...but shouldn't using XHTML require at least some kind of DOCTYPE definition in the code? Re: Vili's Mails not threaded
Hello Vili, Please let me explain my situation. Completely accepted ;-). And let me also point out that my initial mail was not intended to criticize you (or even say you should not post to the list), but just to find out if some of my settings were wrong, or maybe even my server would filter out some headers, maybe.
