2012-09-07 Thread Thomas Martin
Hello The Bat! fans,

is it possible that when marking the "Send" folder, that in the top of
the message preview pane the photo of the recipient and not the
senders image (me) appears?

Of course those images are in the address book.

Thanks

Strange it shoud give you a filename which tells you Date and Time.
Like '200512261914.tbk'

Anyway, you way is working. You had a look at the batch File?

RO>> Does anybody know how to give them proper alternating names?

If you use the scheduler of TB! use following regex to creat backups
with each time different names.

Put this string in 'To backup file' and modify the path.

C:\your
path\%SETPATTREGEXP="(\d+).(\d+)\.(\d{4})"%REGEXPBLINDMATCH="%DATESHORT"%Subpatt="3"%Subpatt="2"%Subpatt="1"%SETPATTREGEXP="(\d+)\:(\d+)"%REGEXPBLINDMATCH="%TIME"%Subpatt="1"%Subpatt="2".TBK

Or use a batch file which u include in the system scheduler. Here is
one which allows you to backup TB! install path, separate backup of
mail directory, Registry of TB!, Registry of BayesFilter or Bayesit, 4
different programmes (like K9 or what ever) with 4 different Registry
entries. Includes a restore Batch.

The Batch keeps 5 Backups.

If you wish and like i translate the Tutorial and Batch into English.
The Batch works only on x32 and x64 OS:

Hello TB List,

as there have been several requests for an English tutorial for the
BayesIt-Plugin and because there is only a Russian one available, we
published since some minutes an English one.

It explains the basic functions of the plugin with screenshots and
has also a FAQ inside. It will be developed further step by step.

Please make comments or suggestions regarding to translation,
improvements, mistakes, etc. here, or e-mail to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Also comments and tips can be made in the tutorials itself.

Thanks to Stefan Starke who takes care of the German language file for
several AntiSpam Plugins. He is responsible and the author for that
tutorial.

From Beta 6 on, there is a new line in the Glyphs which are for the
new icons in the NFS. For example the icon for 'New Filter' is not
implemented in most actual Glyphs.

Here a collection of Glyphs:

No. 58 is the only on till now which is correct working with TheBat! 3

eToken or Aladin is a hardware solution for encrypting in this case
message databases. Alos you don't have access to TheBaT! without it.

Following order is proofed:

1. AntiVirus Plugin
2. AntiSpam Plugin
3. Filters of the Filtermanager

But there seams to be a other problem with the statistics. E-mail
which BayesIt classifies as good Mail because of a match in the own
whitelist are not counted as good mails in the statistic. They don't
appear there. Other experiences?

But how ever, the plugin works incredible good for what it is
designed. Killing Spam. Good Job. But a good and correct statistic
would be fine.

Re: BayeIT Macros

Hello Andre,

Just checking my self following macro combination:

Spam Stats, last 24 hours (%BAYESITVERSION)
Total Spam Emails: %STATSPAMLETTERS(24)
Total Clean Emails: %STATNONSPAMLETTERS(24)
BayesIT guessed right %-
%calculate="100-(%STATSPAMERLETTERS(24)/%STATSPAMLETTERS(24))"%% of the time
My email is %-
%calculate="100-(100*((%STATSPAMERLETTERS(24)+%STATNONSPAMERLETTERS(24))/(%STATSPAMLETTERS(24)+%STATNONSPAMLETTERS(24"%%
 spam

Result:

Spam Stats, last 24 hours (BayesIt! 0.5.11)
Total Spam E-mail: 119
Total Clean Mails: 8
BayesIt guessed right 100% of the time
My e-mail is 96.850394% spam

That's impossible. I was getting around 300 Mails in the last 24
hours. Most of them Mailinglist messages, which are whitelisted in
BayesIt. Isn't BayesIt counting whitelisted e-mail as good e-mail in
the statistic.

The standard Layout which has TheBat! is integrated in the program. If you
want to change the layout (icons) you have to copy a "glyphs.bmb" file in to
the root folder of TheBat!. TB! takes this file for the layout. There are
several Glyphs. Sorry i don't have a English spoken page for you only this on
in German:

http://www.batworld.de/glyphs/index.html

There are 48 different Glyps for downloading.

Me too, for me who only is looking into 4 Groups which don't have
attachments that a great stuff.

By the way, just configured a new email for the News Group of TheBat, only
one posting. and after one hour i got the first Worm Virus Messages on
that account. Can't believe that!! Are there some Outlook User in that

In the moment this is not possible with TheBat! It is a problem of TheBat!
not of the AVG Plugin.

That's nice, but there is a big problem. As i was told (Data security
institute of a German university) , there is no command line program
included in PGP 8.0 like in PGP 6.x

IMHO that means there can't be a development by Ritlab for developing
a TB Plugin. This has to be done by PGP itself. But as we know in
the freeware version of PGP 8 you can't even use the plugins. Only in
the registered version they are working.

And now?

The actual version is 1.61. 1.62 is till Beta. In the moment Beta 17.
The Christmas edition is the same as beta 17, only the Splash Screen
is different; a Bat in Christmas Time.

Here it works fin the sending. If you configure you have to chose in

25. For receiving also "localhost" and port 1101 and also in IzyMail.

There is a better programm than web2pop. It is called Izymail. With
that one you can receive and _send_ emails to hotmail via the pop
funcion in Thebat. Little programm that runs in the backround like
web2pop.

You only can (but don't have to) reboot the machine if the scanning
engine itself of AVG or NOd32 is updated. That is so with each AV
Program. If there is only a update of the Virus definitions you don't
have to reboot.

Its interesting, always Norton, Kapersky. What about Nod32. If you
look at the vBulletin Page it has over the last years impressive
results and by the way better than Norton and Kapersky. The only thing
is the Plugin for TB is not working very well.

Thats right. AVG cant, as the most AV clean a particular Mail. it
moves the infected mail into a special folder. I prefer that, because
so i vcn still read the message itself, which is harmles. Later i just
delete the message - thats all, or i only delete the attachment. That
is the way i prefer it and because of that i love AVG in combination
with TheBat.

AVP and The Bat!

2002-04-16 Thread Thomas Martin

Hello ThBat UDL List,

i intsalled the AVp Plugin. Works fine. I send me a Virus (Eicar).
TheBat doesnt copy the infected Message into a Quarantine Folder as i
configurated it in the Plugin Options and in AVP itsself. have to say
that i disabled to search in Plain Format and Mail databases, becauce
TB is getting terible slowly if i switch that on.
 Some ideas.
Well when i try to open the message i cant , because the virus was
found, but i want the infected message to be moved into a quarantine
 folder first.
