yes i know, but in practice, somehow i seem to be behind the pc at
that time too and i hit cancel as well :)

Anyway, I tried as suggested and it all went smooth. However, the
problem still exists. I know have it in different accounts even. It
doesn't happen a lot, but today for example, I had three corrupted
mails. It doesn't look very professional if I have to ask my clients
if they can please resend the mail as my mailprogram seems to corrupt
them when they enter...

If i hit 'reply' on a corrupted mail, it takes the text out of the
*last seen* mail as original text. Maybe this info helps?

Thanks anyway, it's good to write this down. Seems to become more
controlable :)

corrupted emails

2007-09-27 Thread Lex Thoonen
Hi,

it's happened three times now in the last few days: someone sends me a
mail, when i select it to preview it in the window beneath it, it's
just grey, as if there is no message. If I hit the rply button, the
text of another message is placed as the original text/mail.

In all cases I knew these persons wanted something from me so I mailed
them and asked them to resend me the mail and I got a perfectly normal
mail from them, so it seems something corrupted those mails.

My mail 'databases' are rather big, and I run a 10 accounts, but this
shouldn't really be happening I guess.

Anyone some ideas what I should do? Is there a 'repair database' tool
or something similar?

spam doesn't work on one account

2007-09-04 Thread Lex Thoonen
Hi,

I've got a few mail accounts set up, and I'm using the bayes filter
plugin. It works fine, and it's learning too. But one mailaccount,
obviously the busiest (murphy), it seems to completely ignore.

I've checked the mail account's settings but didn't detect anything
obvious.

It's been going on for a while, and updating to later versions of the
Bat didn't help.

Anyone an idea?

Thanks!

easy archive

2007-01-09 Thread Lex Thoonen
Hi,

in outlook, i used to do this:

say, on the first of january 2003, i would store all messages up to 31
dec 2001 in a .pst file. The 'fresh' and current .pst file would only
contain messages from 2002 and up. If i needed an older message, i'd
just open the 2001 .pst file and look the message up.

Is there a way i can do this or something very similar in the bat! ?

Thanks,

Ok thanks, as well other posters. I downloaded the new version and tried
again. I get all kind of strange stuff now. For exmaple, mails not getting
downloaded (it gets stuck at 100% when downloading of the server). The mail
that does come through is shown for example, withouht a "from" and subject
etc, or half of the content is missing.

About deleting temporary files: how do i find them?

I did try to cure the folders, it said ok and it gave some error message.

cpu 100%

2005-11-27 Thread lex
Hi,

My mail folders are rather large, and since a while, as soon as I
start The Bat! I've got my cpu working at 100%. (which is, obviously,
slowing down the whole computer)

I'm using The Bat! Version 3.60.07
under Windows XP 5.1 Build 2600 Service Pack 2
   AMD Athlon 2400+
1,99 GHz 1,00 GB of RAM

Do I need to archive mail or something to have the bat! running normal
again, or is there a fault somewhere. Normally, I use to have my email
client on oall the time i'm behind a pc, that isn't possible now...

Thanks,

I indeed would like to automate the process as it's too many handlings

What would be the most ideal solution?

IMAP Support

2000-03-09 Thread Lex Chive

Hello TBUDL,

I primarily use my mail account from a Unix shell, however I
sometimes need to consult my mails from a windows station. Until
recently I used Netscape for that but I thought I might try The Bat!
since it's much smaller... However I have one problem with the IMAP
support. It can download new messages correctly, but I can not review
previous messages. Usually an IMAP client is expected to use all the
folders from the server, and not download the messages into its own
folders. Is there some configuration option to change this? This is
version 1.39, in case you wonder.

I hope there is some way to fix this problem since I like The
Bat!, but I really can't use it this way.
