No. That idea of mine didn't work. tbudl over-wrote what I had put in
Reply-to with its own address.

Thomas Fernandez, a long-time subscriber and poster, was saying, "For

situation about Reply-to already.

Try this for right now:

Set up a new message window and in the To: field copy this:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]

For the subject line copy this:

Re: Help with English expressions [was I kinda like my Bat :)]

Then do Select All on this post and copy-and-paste it into your new

answer your questions on tbot.

At least I hope that perhaps this will work.

Yes, I really think it is. Are you subscribed there? If not, here's
the "mail to:" address for subscribing:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]

In addition, I've included a "Reply to:" address in my headers, to make it
easy for you to Reply to this e-mail on tbot rather than on tbudl.

Of course, it's possible that the moderators would not regard this
conversation as off-topic for tbudl. Sometimes my mind--out of being
wary of transgressing :) --interprets tbudl's rules more strictly than
the moderators do. :)

Also, Miguel is not subscribed there--he doesn't have time for that
extra list. So, since you were originally Replying to a MAU (Miguel)
posting, it was entirely appropriate for you to ask your questions for
the first time on this list, where the expressions that were puzzling
you were being used. I just thought that now, we might move it to
tbot. In case there were some more expressions that you wanted to have
explained.

All the best to you, Jean. :)

Roughly translated, this means: I don't suppose you would want to

"Chickened out" is a slang expression, used in a derisive tone of
voice. It means that the recipient who is accused of "chickening out"
has become scared of doing a particular thing, or has seen the

This is a metaphor: his hands are hovering over--meaning, in a
position just above--these keys on the keyboard. It means he'll go on
using them rather than go through the long process of learning a new
(although possibly better) way.

JS> Oh heck, I've just got sucked into the wonders of WindowBlinds

"Oh heck" is a mild euphemism for "Oh hell."

To get "sucked into" something means to have been fooled or lured into

Ok, I have Power-Pro running at work and used to use Stiletto, I might
try that.

Your reply folders -- do you just drag messages into the 10 day one or
is that automated also?

Nah! Chickened out. Far too much to learn.

I normally just have my fingers hovering over the "Delete" key or, if
it's a thread I know I'll never be interested in, "CTRL+SHFT+DEL" for
instant zapping. I have kill rules that are always there for certain
topics and a couple of posters, but I can't see how to set up for
instant ignoring of follow up messages to threads from which I have
deleted the first message. In Ameol (an OLR I use with CIX) there's a
wonderful addon that finds all orphaned messages and deletes them so
they're never seen but I can't see how to do it here. If it means adding
a sorting office rule then that's just a little bit too much like hard
work, especially if a particular topic only has a couple of posts to it.

I was just wondering if you could elucidate how you go about ignoring
threads which you are not interested in?

Ooh. I just got Outlook 2003 at work and found a new feature that I've always wanted
but never verbalized since I didn't know just how useful it would be.

It is the feature of flagging a message. Once a message is flagged, it pops up in a
"Follow Up" folder so you can always go to that folder and follow up on the messages.
Once the flag is cleared, it disappears from the "Follow Up" folder but remains in its
native folder. Quite useful for tracking to-do's.

Twould be a nice feature to incorporate into TB!
