Three types of weather are bad for me.  Cold rainy weather is the worst, even
the day before the rain starts.  Hot humid days are next on my list.  Then the
cold.  So in Michigan that leaves me a couple of months out of the year that
aren't any of the above. Heather I agree about the changes in the air pressure
because when the weather changes I want to do nothing more than go to bed and
not move.

Lynne,
Living in Calgary we get Chinooks and they can put the air pressure up and down
like a yo-yo. A lot of people get migraines when Chinooks hit (I used to too).

Yes, cold and rainy and cold and snow are bad for me.
I like temps about plus 22 or plus 23 Celcius and that is fine.
We are very dry here so no humidity to really speak of.

Hey Gracie and everyone...
I've read through the posts..
I'm here...I don't post here often...too busy with my other projects
usually or actually, my distracted attention span takes me in 5
different directions that I forget to post anything.

As far as the weather/pain/cold/rain etc.living in Northeast Ohio
certainly has given me some challenges with the cold in the winter
time...the pain is a mummer bugger most times and in the summer the heat
and humidity make me nuts. If I go outside and try to do any kind of
activity, I fatigue and get exhausted in no time at all...plus, I start
sweating and now with my TM, the only part of me that sweats anymore is
my head. It sweats profusely

If I had a choice at this point, I would be living somewhere near a
place called Alamogordo NM. It is a small town in New Mexico and I lived
there for three years back in the 80's when I was in the Air Force.
That area has the most perfect weather in my eyes of any place that I've
ever been.
Average annual high temp of 76 degrees, average annual low temp of 47
degrees, 11 inches total precipitation per year and 4 inches of snow per
year.
Humidity averages only about 50% year around and also about 80% days of
sunshine a year.
The elevation is about 4,000 feet and within a 20 minute drive you can
go into the mountains and be over 9,000 feet and have all the snow you
want and it is 20 degrees cooler.

Plus---I love southwest style food...not mexican, but southwest,
there is a difference. It's a combination of American Indian, Mexican
and Spanish.

One of these days..

I guess we are share some of the symptoms. For me the heat does not bother
me as I am always cold year round. This cold winter has been hard on my
feet. I have such burning in my feet so bad they actually feel as if there
are in a block of ice. I remember the feeling when I was a kid and ice
skating with my feet so cold they hurt. For some reason, during the day
they are not quite as bad, but when I am sitting and in bed I sometimes wish
I could cut them off. Even with this, I do feel I am lucky in other ways
since I don't suffer with the banding pain so many of us have.

Sitting in the evening is also my worst time with burning. It's not from the
inactivity. I'm actually paying for the daily activity and the burning pain
that I could ignore while I was busy. I imagine cutting off my left leg at the
hip to rid myself of the pain.

feet. I have such burning in my feet so bad they actually feel as if there
are in a block of ice. I remember the feeling when I was a kid and ice
skating with my feet so cold they hurt. For some reason, during the day they

Sitting in the evening is also my worst time with burning. It's not from
the inactivity. I'm actually paying for the daily activity and the
burning pain that I could ignore while I was busy. I imagine cutting off
my left leg at the hip to rid myself of the pain.

I was out walking yesterday in New Jersey with my wife when I realized how much
stiffer my legs were. I attributed this to the cold (20 degrees). Im tired very
quickly. In my case the 2 things that seem to effect my legs the worst (the
banding) is very cold weather (Florida here I come) and very humid or rainy
weather. Generally speaking I feel better and stronger in the spring and summer!

Hey Gracie and everyone...
I've read through the posts..
I'm here...I don't post here often...too busy with my other projects usually or
actually, my distracted attention span takes me in 5 different directions that
I forget to post anything.

As far as the weather/pain/cold/rain etc.living in Northeast Ohio certainly
has given me some challenges with the cold in the winter time...the pain is a
mummer bugger most times and in the summer the heat and humidity make me nuts.
If I go outside and try to do any kind of activity, I fatigue and get exhausted
in no time at all...plus, I start sweating and now with my TM, the only part of
me that sweats anymore is my head. It sweats profusely

If I had a choice at this point, I would be living somewhere near a place
called Alamogordo NM. It is a small town in New Mexico and I lived there for
three years back in the 80's when I was in the Air Force.
That area has the most perfect weather in my eyes of any place that I've ever
been.
Average annual high temp of 76 degrees, average annual low temp of 47 degrees,
11 inches total precipitation per year and 4 inches of snow per year.
Humidity averages only about 50% year around and also about 80% days of
sunshine a year.
The elevation is about 4,000 feet and within a 20 minute drive you can go into
the mountains and be over 9,000 feet and have all the snow you want and it is
20 degrees cooler.

Plus---I love southwest style food...not mexican, but southwest, there is a
difference. It's a combination of American Indian, Mexican and Spanish.

One of these days..

I'm here - but you're right - extremely quiet. TOO quiet..

And Frank - if you were asking for anything except pie recipes, I could help
you out. I learned many moons ago that I am not capable of making a good pie!!
I'm sure you'll get some good replies when everyone wakes up.

See - we're all waking up. Congrats on that great nap, Candy! Love those
myself. I'm with you on the weather. My husband left Friday for Lake Havasu,
AZ which is absolutely beautiful. The lake is huge and the Colorado river is
right there too. I have a lot of doctor stuff the next few weeks so was not
able to go. But I will fly to AZ some time after that. Looking forward to the
mild temps. This cold stuff hurts!

Hang in there,

Actually, my nerve pain has been okay since my last shots(for back and legs).
Shots have never lasted this long. But, I have an arthritic knee that one
doc says needs
to be replaced, but my pain management doc is trying to keep that from
happening. I have knee pain 24/7, but is better with pain meds, just don't
like to take much.
Doc's think that after TM hit and I started walking again, my gait changed to
accommodate nerve pain and balance and it got the knee in bad shape. If it
isn't one thing,
it will be another . Have any of you had a knee replaced since you have had
TM?

Problem with that is I want the tree changes in the fall. And skiff's of

the summer (July and August) can be pretty hot and humid.Other than that,

Janice, glad to hear your shots helped with the nerve pain. Regarding the knee
- what pain meds are you on? I was given Darvacet which didn't even begin to
touch the pain. Already have Vicodin on hand, but that doesn't work either.
So don't take anything. Just ice it.

However, I am in aqua therapy actually because of my knees. I cannot have
surgery of any kind. I'm building my muscles up to help take some of the
pressure off the knees. It's been 3+ months now, and I can really tell a big
difference.

Gunny was kind enough to give me a lot of great info on what muscles need to be
built up and how to accomplish this in the water. (thanks again, Gunny : )
I'm so amazed by what I can do in the water that I canNOT do on land!

About the pain - I was getting 4 hours of sleep at the most because of pain -
thought I was going to lose my mind, so doc put me on Ambien CR - well, that's
a hit and miss thing. Instead of waking up after 4 hrs, I get to sleep maybe 5
hrs. It's gone on for so long now, I think I just can't break the cycle. I'll
chime in with the knee replacement thing after I see what others have to
say..

water therapy. Did that before I got TM.When you say you can tell a big
difference after 3 months of water therapy, do you mean big difference
in pain? Are your knees bone on bone? We are injecting rooster's comb
into my knee, but so far 3 times isn't doing it. (That is the norm). He may
have to do 5 times. I am not bothered with knee pain when in bed, just when I
get out of bed and try walking. At night I have to use a walker.

Gunny, you are probably reading this. Would you give me the muscles that need
building up in the water?I could use the help. Thanks, Janice

I'll
chime in with the knee replacement thing after I see what others have to
say..

Have any of you had a knee replaced since you have
had TM?

Yup, yet that being said, I would rather hurt in the cold snow, than hurt in
the freezing rain! For some reason, no clue why, it hurts more in the cold,
cold rain than in the snow, even though it is colder when it snows! This winter
is much better for me than last winter.

before he puts them in his book. What subject does anyone

I had these fronts. I still want some place that is 72 - 74 all year round.

Yes my knees are bone on bone. And yes huge difference in pain level. Prior
to the water therapy, my doc said it was time for 2 walking sticks that you
wear on your arms. My legs were that bad. Ok, I have never heard of rooster's
comb - so please tell me what that is. My doc did not want to inject my knees
at all due to the risk of infection (I'm on immunosuppressants) Although when
this first started and my right knee was swollen like a cantelope (for real) he
did inject it. That did nothing. well, except for the first time in my life, I
actually let out a scream when he tried to get that needle in my hugely swollen
knee. I spent about 3 months sitting up in bed, icing my knees and literally
getting up only when absolutely necessary! It was awful. But thankfully so
much better now

That sounds like hell!! So glad that is over with for you. About the
rooster's comb. We all have it, or the stuff that is in the comb, in our
bodies.
With the loss of it between bones, we need to inject it back in. The
percentage is high for big relief, but so far, I am still in the small
percentage. I
am really hoping that 2 more injections will do it. Okay, kiddo, I am going
to bed.Talk to you tomorrow. Janice
